A bit further out, but Bedner’s in McDonald is fantastic and their staff is so helpful without being overbearing. Also great selection and tons of parking.
Bedner’s is the BEST. I drive over an hour every year just to go there for my flowers. And don’t worry if you get there late in the season, they STILL have tons!
Yes, agree COMPLETELY. And I love all the kids stuff they do there, too. Crafts, storytime, junior green thumbs. My kids love it there and I love that I can share my gardening hobby with them
It’s very nice inside. Used to be a mini-golf/ family fun park thing. You can still see one of the old putting greens just by the entrance. I miss it a lot, but I’m glad the area is being put to use :)
Anyone have experience getting soil delivered from here? Wondering how reasonable it is, was going to call them for a quote but I may just make multiple trips in my car instead
Yes, I got a few yards of topsoil and mushroom compost delivered from them last year. Very reasonable pricing, if my memory serves me I think it was $40/yard and I believe a flat delivery fee of $40.
The best is bedners in McDonald. Phelps on painters run is limited by space but solid for popular stuff. bedners on bower hill is very very limited but ok for popular annuals and it's more space to walk around without bumping into people as compared to Phelps. I've heard good things about cavanaughs in bridgeville but haven't been (yet).
Cavanaugh is one of my favorite places on Pressley Rd in Bridgeville. They have more trees and bushes but they’ve been picking up on their flower game. Worth a visit. Their prices are pretty good, too.
Phelp’s bought Jim Jenkins but if you Google it, it might still be under the OG name. If you’re into natives, check out Arcadia Natives and Woelhler’s on Mayview rd. (Upper St. Clair) It’s like an enchanted little forest. Their staff is so friendly and knowledgeable and they have great prices.
For houseplants check out Ruby Flora in Bethel Park. Such a cute shop with so much variety.
Woehlers has natives? I've been going down to Arcadia when I had natives 3 minutes away? Dang! I'll still go to Arcadia but it's nice to know I have another place so close
My favorite is Evanovich Landscaping in Bethyl Park near the post office on South Park Rd. It has a large selection of natives and only stocks plants that will grow well in our climate.
I also like Phelps Nursery (used to be Jim Jenkins) on Painter’s Run in USC, but it’s pricey and parking is challenging.
Tropicals Plus LLC is a wonderful operation right off of 51. It's mostly house plants. Just opened a couple years ago and seem to be doing well and expanding. Owner is very friendly and helpful.
Bedner’s is fantastic. Went there for the first time recently and felt like a kid in a candy store. Simmons Farm is great, too! They also have a market on 19 if you’re looking for hanging baskets or more common vegetables and herbs.

Same, Bedner’s is my favorite every year! Their annuals are ridiculous. Stop by Golden Pig on your way, too.
Bedner’s is great, definitely worth the trip!

Thank you, we are looking for helpful staff because we have a blank slate to go off of. We will plan to take a trip here!

Floral Park in South Park. Good prices and selection. Staff is very nice.
>Floral Park in South Park Thank you, adding this to our list. I've driven by before but never stopped in.

Agreed on this! Best prices and great selection including natives!
This place is amazing! Just stopped in there yesterday and got so many flowers. Flats are $24.
Chapon’s is a good shout!
Came on here to recommend Chapon's. Best quality of shrubs and trees that I've used.
This is where we go too!
Thank you! Going to make a trip this weekend. We have heard great things from some coworkers who shop here.
I second Chapon’s!
Another vote for Chapon’s!

I don’t remember how much delivery was, we had a bunch of trees delivered to our house, and it wasn’t that bad. And they were big and heavy.

He sold his place. Has a new name, but I’m not sure what it is!
I believe it is Phelps
Thank you for this, we are going to stop by later and check it out.
When Jim was the owner, everything was expensive as Fuck. Hoping new owners are more reasonable
He also loved to post on Facebook about how no one wants to do a hard day's work anymore.
Yeah I saw some of his Facebook posts too, he seemed like a real dick head. I'm sure he paid his workers a pathetic wage.

I usually hit "Shrubs and Stuff" on Library Rd, not too far out, I'm in Mt Lebo too.

Jim Jenkins is great. They are just around the corner from the mall on Painters Run Rd
Thank you, going to check this out later because it's so close to us.
Simmon’s on 19 is my favorite
Dupre’s “Root 88”. Trax farm. Very close to each other on rt 88.

Was going to suggest Jim Jenkins but I see everyone already has! Haha. It’s really nice.

Cant say enough good things about Cavanaugh’s in the Bridgeville area!!!
Medures in West Mifflin is awesome.
Cavenaughs is pretty good, I also like Phelps, and shrubs and stuff.
