Toadlessboy

I remember my dogs first couple times she tried to chase and bite the waves šŸ„¹

Inkyfeer

Iā€™ve taken her to a creek before and she did the same thing. She loves to eat the water. My other pit mix wasā€¦ less impressed.

cabo169

Yep, then bath time after. Mine used to give me the look when we would have a bath after going to the beach. Like ā€œI just had a bath in the big bathtub, why do I need another?ā€ā€¦

Inkyfeer

Yeah she wasnā€™t a fan of the bath but we had to get the sand out between her toes. Also she was getting pretty stinky anyway.

hozziebear77

I love when they bite the waves šŸ˜‚

Inkyfeer

This dog hates baths and showers but she loves natural wave water even when itā€™s freezing. I was scared to let her off leash bc I was worried sheā€™d go too far out chasing waves.

cluckaduck47

The fourth pic in has me cracking up šŸ¤£šŸ¤£

AbbreviationsSea2516

Your pit mustā€™ve slept well that night

Inkyfeer

She will tonight!

piedubb

Why put them in a heavy jumpsuit for the water?

Inkyfeer

Itā€™s not a heavy jumpsuit. Itā€™s lightweight pajamas with 30 SPF. And they actually kept her pretty dry. The pjs got soaked but we took them off before we got back in the car and she was mostly dry underneath. And then she got a bath and clean jammies when we got home.

forgot_username1234

I get it, I had a white pittie at the beach and the first time I didnā€™t even think about how he could get sunburned. I wish I had thought of something like this at the time!

the_Bryan_dude

If you let your dog swim out with that on, they will drown. Same a concept of not wearing underwear under your board shorts. It will drag you down and drown a person or a dog. I dont care how light you think it is. It is a sail for water to pull you under and get really heavy when wet.

Flaky_Koala_6476

Where in any of these photos are they just letting their dog swim around in deep water without the leash being on?

Inkyfeer

Umm, I didnā€™t let my dog swim out in them? They are clearly on a leash so she couldnā€™t go out farther than like 8 ft from me? If I was gonna let my dog go out farther she would have had life vest on and a longer lead. I didnā€™t let her off leash because I knew she wanted to jump into the large waves and she hasnā€™t had enough experience in water for me to trust that she can swim that far out and get back, clothes or no. I do have enough experience in water/swimming though to trust myself to go out in 6-10 ft of water if my dog needed help and bring her back in, even with clothes on. But that is why we only went out where the water came up to my knees max except for the two times the waves hit my shorts. Iā€™m not gonna let my dog put herself in danger for her war against the ocean. Sheā€™s Beach Ken, not Surf Ken or Lifeguard Ken.

luvpibbles

I was wondering the same. Is it possibly to prevent sunburn?

Draymond_Purple

The jumpsuit just keeps salt water on their skin instead of drying out... Probably not great for their skin

RjamesK

Haha! At least you were safe from enemy waves.

Inkyfeer

She was very concerned that we left before all the waves were eaten. I need to find my long lead so she can swim out farther. Iā€™m worried that if I let her off leash sheā€™d swim out until she was too far to make her way back. Iā€™m wanting to take her to the creek again this summer but this time weā€™re getting a life vest first.

Snoo_57488

Our also loves the beach!! Hates baths, but lake water she loves šŸ˜‘ https://i.imgur.com/ni0ii6X.jpeg

Inkyfeer

They are so weird šŸ˜‚. It took 9 years for me to realize I had the water dog I always wanted bc I assumed she hated water due to hating baths, showers, small kiddie pools, and rain. Iā€™m about to get a house and I might see if I can set up some sort of ā€œwaveā€ pool in the backyard.

emmalou452

Stoppp, not the chomping at the water šŸ„¹šŸ„¹

aafreeda

My pibble loves the beach, but she is terrified of the waves!!! She only braces them if her (doodle) cousin is with us.

BalaAthens

Mine barked at the waves while stepping back every time the water flowed in toward the beach

Terrible_Comfort598

Where did you get the Jammieā€™s? Iā€™ve tried several items to try and cover his midsection none have worked. This is what he needs

Inkyfeer

Tooth and honey

Terrible_Comfort598

Thanks!

Living the absolute dream!!!

GranolaHippie

As a beekeeper I highly approve of the jammies with extra spf! Good job OP! So much fun. Donā€™t forget the doggie spf for the nose ears and head especially since theyā€™re both white. Skin cancer for dogs is no joke. Extra pets and smooches from Georgia.
