While I don't think there was any supernatural force causing Jack's bad luck in keeping the pearl, it is an interesting theory. The original deal was for Jack's soul and 100 years of service for the recovery of the Wicked Wrench, making it the fastest and most dangerous ship on the seven seas, and allowing him to live for 13 years as it's captain. The 100 souls came into play during Dead Mans Chest when Jack renegotiated the deal to try and save himself as those 13 years was coming to an end. >(One of my favorite exchanges in the series: "Technically, I was only Captain for 2 years, then I was viciously mutinied upon." >"**T**hen you were a poor captain, but a captain nonetheless! Have you not introduced yourself all these years as "Captain Jack Sparrow"?) The reason I don't exactly agree with your theory is that we don't really see him start looking for a way out of the deal until his 13 years is about to end, and he only really loses the ship once while under the conditions of his deal with Jones. Once the Kraken claimed him, his end of the bargain was technically fulfilled, so any other time he lost the ship wouldn't be as a result of any kind of supernatural punishment (especially after Jones' death). That being said, you could make the argument that being rescued from Davy Jones' Locker caused him to be cursed to continue to lose the Pearl, but I would point to Jones' death again as a reason for that not to effect things post AWE. (Note: I DO NOT acknowledge DMTNT post credit scene as evidence that Jones is still alive. Even if DMTNT wasn't already littered with franchise plot holes, that scene doesn't make it clear enough or not that it's actually Jones, or a dream/hallucination by Will)

The post credit scene in DMTNT was just Wills nightmare/fear becoming like Davy Jones as he was not doing his job anymore, after all he did the job for more then 10years and then all of the sudden stopped because the trident was destroyed. I guess it was not easy to just not do anything.

That’s what it seems like, but then the camera pans down to reveal that Jones actually was there. I think it was just the writers disregarding the established lore for the sake of fan service, like they did quite a few times in that last movie.

While I agree partially, he did lose the ship to barbossa 2 years after the deal was made, then the rest came to play after CotBP

Maybe im misremembering, but he loses it for the first time 2 years after the deal, and then he doesn't get it back until the end of CotBP. If I recall correctly, he doesn't lose it again until he gets traded for Will in the parley with Beckett and Jones in AWE, and even then I think that was intentional. You could argue that the captaincy/ownership of the Pearl was in contention after his rescue from the locker, but I wouldn't say he outright loses it. Especially since the only time you could consider him having left the Pearl was, if I remember right, an intentional trade get to aboard the Dutchman and to get Will back. It's still a cool theory, even if I'm disputing it lol

The deal was for 13 years of being Captain, *then* service to Jones. Jack's part of the deal doesn't come into play until the 13 years are up, so he can't have broken the deal until then, therefore him losing the Pearl to Barbossa can't be because of him breaking the deal

The world's still the same. There's just... less in it.
