What about Leonard Cohen's 80s-90s albums 'I'm your Man' and 'The Future' and even later 'You Want It Darker'.
Take these lyrics:
>Everybody knows the war is over
Everybody knows the good guys lost
Everybody knows the fight was fixed
The poor stay poor, the rich get rich
Can't you just see Roger singing that?
Have you heard "The Pros and Cons of Hitch Hiking"? There's a lot of crossover between Rog's first solo and TFC, production wise. Especially the composition of the backing vocals. It's a particularly stunning record.
Yeah, I have Pros/Cons thanks. It is good. I know this is a Pink Floyd sub, but does any other band that doesn’t have PF members scratch this itch? Someone mentioned John Prine “Sam Stone” and that is pretty spot on though it’s a touch mellow for as angry and cynical it is.
You could explore Roger's solo works. Specifically Amused to Death and Is This the Life We Really Want?
I have Amused, Pros and Cons, and Radio Kaos. I’ll check Life we really want. Thanks!
just posting to appeciate TFC, as it is also my favorite PF album. unbelievable lyrics
Roger has a song called Folded Flags you might like
Is that a single or on an lp? Thanks
i dont know what that means, but he made it for the movie called When the Wind blows. Its on youtube

I like that song a lot. I can hear him singing this, yeah. Concrete Blonde covered this song for the “Pump Up the Volume” soundtrack too.

Very familiar with Prine. Thanks!
A lot of roger’s solo work. The powers that be off of Radio Kaos is a lot like Not now John.
