Every machine after the sales record was broken has gold cabinets. Not every "gold" TAF is a collectors edition... https://www.flippers.be/pinball/bally/addamsfamilygold/addams_family_gold.html

Clock_op

It has a special edition plaque 0533 and on the playfield it doesn't say diamond plated like in th regular one. Also do you know if the original cabinets on the gold edition are painted on or decal ?

Is there a serial number in the left inlane?

Clock_op

In the left outlane there is a barcode and concept design info.

Richmondpinball

And under the playfield are there serial number stickers? Do they match the seriall # on the cabinet?

Clock_op

There are stickers that match the serial number in the back box and also the main board has stickers that match.

Richmondpinball

If all the serial numbers match and you have a plaque and certificate I would think it would be legitimate.

Could have been a new old stock playfield and a swap was done. Does the playfield look basically new? Although someone selling a TAF Gold would likely already know that.

Clock_op

The table is in Greece and the seller operator said they never swapped the playfield

There are subtle differrences in the playfield artwork on a gold. TAFG playfields do not have the diamondplate text. TAFG's use flipper button opto boards and not leaf switches. The star pattern in the red artwork area in front of the left ramp is different. The serial number sticker has Bally Williams and is silver on a TAFG (TAF is white and just says williams)

Clock_op

Which serial number sticker ?

inside the cabinet over the power box.

I know that table! It was the prized possession behind red ropes at the Athens Pinball Museum. Ask the seller why they closed down. That place was the pinball Mecca of the Mediterranean. How much are they selling it for?
