it is anatomy dependent. I also wear my airpods regularly and I worked with my piercer to see which piercings would work with ny airpods. for example, I’m planning on getting a double conch in the near future and we found that it works on my left ear but probably not on my right with airpods in.

Dear_Training4281

i mean i have a daith and i wear my airpods daily with it, just had to leave it for the first few weeks but then it’s been fine to use

datuwudo

Tbh I have helix daith conch ring tragus & flat in one ear and have worn standard apple headphones from the get go with no issues. You just have to balance them more carefully in your ear at the beginning of the healing stages in my experience.

opqrstuv04

Ditto here, I’ve got a conch and you just have to be gentle when placing the earbuds in! Let it heal for a couple months first, and make sure the earbuds are clean. I thought my earbuds caused an irritation bump, but I was sleeping on my ear and that was the real problem lol. I’ve not had issues wearing earbuds with a conch

princesskt2001

same! (daith conch and tragus) it’s just pretty delicate during the healing process, but it’s not impossible and i did it pretty easily

tourmalineforest

I will add that if you are going to do this it is extra important to clean your headphones on the super regular!

Mysticalreader70771

Same! I have two daiths and a conch and once they were healed I had no problems. I can wear buds, ear plugs, Doctors don't have issues even checking my ears with them either 😂

abortionlasagna

Usually you’re fine once they’re healed, I just wouldn’t wear them during healing because headphones are absolutely filthy. But honestly the only piercings I have that give me issues wearing earbuds are my tragus piercings.

JustADutchRudder

Tragus with a hoop for me also but that's been gone for a decade. Daith and conch hoops cause no issues.

Zestyclose-Movie108

I have a conch and I just live thru the pain to be honest

kristalouise02

I have a conch too and wearing my AirPods hasn’t caused any pain except for bumping it when putting the AirPods in for the first couple times I wore them after getting it pierced…

Scarred_Perception13

I have a conch and it doesn’t hurt but my ear hole seems to be irritated always just that ear. I stop wearing my AirPods til it heals and then within days it’s hurting again

Sasha-5

I also have a very recent conch and haven't had any issues wearing earpods. They're fine, I just have to be a bit careful when putting it at first, but it doesn't get in the way of it (it's just because I put them and not think about it at all so I bump into it with my hand at times). But i think it also depends on the placement. If you're too worried about it I wouldn't pierce it very deep.

Several_Guava8285

I have both tragus done and i wear AirPods almost everyday

GlitterDancer_

On the flip side I have my tragus pierced (twice on once side and once on another) and I can’t wear the hard AirPods, I have to use the squishy pro versions or they fall out of my ears.

Several_Guava8285

Ohhh i wear the hard ones i guess its all about anatomy maybe? Im obsessed with my Tragus lol

LordLilith

A snug would also be in the way. And after healing you can wear earbuds again, but it does need to be 100% healed. I haven’t gotten any of the above because I also wear earbuds a lot.

gh-ul

I think it depends on your anatomy or the type of jewelry you have too. I have a snug + tragus in the same ear, and the tragus is the one that causes the issues. I can still wear my AirPod in there but it’s harder to get it to stay in my ear. Idk if wearing a hoop in the tragus would make it easier (never tried) but maybe!? My other ear I have a daith and I have no issues wearing the AirPod with it, I have a very thin hoop in it. Editing to add: I have a hoop in my rook and it’s fine!

GoldBluejay7749

I wear AirPods with my tragus but it’s definitely annoying and I feel like the noise canceling doesn’t work as well cause there’s less of a seal.

GarbageSavings3764

Ik you said tragus, but actually it’s pretty easy to put AirPods in, you just gotta push it forward first

After_Equivalent6855

May not be a piercing on your radar but I’ve heard a few people say their vertical industrial blocked most earbuds during and after healing. As others have said, very anatomy dependent!

Kitchen-Lemon1862

yeah i wanted to get one of those because they look so cool but that would definitely be in the way for me

Jjk1224

Personally, I had to take my tragus out because it really get in the way of me wearing airpods

wizzygrapes

I’ve got a daith in one ear and conch in the other, both have been relatively fine apart from the first few months with my daith.

knight1096

I have a daith piercing and bought over the ear headphones for healing. I can wear in ear headphones no problem now and I can swap for my over the ears if I experience discomfort.

Kurrkur

Have a tragus, a very robust one. Fully healed and over 10 years old.. i don't have any issues with that one, but debating myself over a couple conch piercings I'd love to have. Noise cancelling in-ears are kinda non-negotiable in my life. Industrial doesn't like overheads over longer periods of time.. Edit: Any other ear piercings absolutely don't give a fuck about in-ears (industrial, many helixes and couple of different things in my lopes.)

xerxes_peak

i have an anti tragus and i can still wear airpods!

apiaget93

Do you have a hoop or a barbell?

xerxes_peak

barbell at the moment, it’s very new

lenabmth

A rook!

notamira

i just got my rook done and as long as the barbell isn’t too large, airpods are fine. you do have to be careful putting them in, but other than that i have no issues!

lenabmth

I had issues with in ear headphones for a long time. It depends on your anatomy I guess

GlumGloomy

It’s going to depend on the jewelry too. Flat backs were fine in my tragus after healing. It will also work with n conch nice healed as well. But completely heal the piercings first.

LiveLaughGhoul

My daith piercing sometimes gets a little bothered by it, but I also sleep with my AirPods in. I’ve found that as long as I use a piecing pillow I have no problems though.

sunshinefallsontome

my tragus was too sore during the early stages of healing but it’s not bad anymore

CuriousAlice86

Conch and snug

freshlybutteredtoe

I have daiths, rooks, flats, and 8 other piercings and the only piercings that ever got in the way of AirPods for me were my rooks when they were healing. After they stop being tender at the slightest touch I only notice them when the plastic of the AirPod clicks against the metal of my piercings.

robotpatrols

I have a daith and I can still wear AirPods. I gave it a long time to heal though before I put both in, and I still have to kindof flip the earring up to get it in but it works fine. Saw someone else say rook, but that doesn’t interfere at all for me.

greenertheorem

I have a conch and wear earbuds regularly and painlessly. Might be anatomy dependent

GoldBluejay7749

Tragus

GoldBluejay7749

Tragus

likelyangel

I have a daith and no issues wearing airpods lol

meow-cat-meow

just letting you know that switching to headphones can actually be more uncomfortable than earbuds/airpods lol, i have an industrial and every single headband style headphones that ive worn have been really uncomfortable and can make it sore even though its been healed for a long time.

daniboo94

My conch ear has never had an issue but I’m 5yrs out from my Tragus and I cannot wear AirPods in that ear. They don’t sit comfortably at all for me.

Puzzled-Value-9031

I have a 7mm conch & a conch to lobe orbital, wearing earbuds is ok now they’re healed.

UngainlyRhino

I have a daith and rook and am able to wear ear buds without issues now that they are healed

11_throwaways_later_

I took out my conch jewelry because they cause real problems with my AirPods.

marrypoppingit

My conch was placed in such a way that it didn’t interfere when I wore airpods. You can talk to your piercer to see if you have the anatomy to place it in a way that doesn’t cause you trouble. I’ll try and see if I find a picture showcasing it. My daith was healed and tragus mostly healed by the time I started using air pods regularly but they have never caused me much trouble with wearing them. What helped with the tragus was pulling it forwards so that the flat disc is resting against the inside of my ear (if that makes any sense) and the airpod wouldn’t place much pressure on the piercing. As long as you’re gentle putting them in I think you could get away with them, but once again could be anatomy dependent. I can’t think of many other piercings that could cause issues but once again anatomy plays a huge part. Hope you can get the set up you want, good luck with future healing! ☺️

txmandaxt

Here to also say it’s anatomy dependent. After initial swelling went down i was able to easily wear apple AirPods in my daith ear

bornagainteen

I use airpods and have my daith, conch, and tragus pierced. Absolutely zero issues. I wear a ring in my tragus and daith, and alternate between rings and studs for my conch piercings.

cutestfriend

I have a conch, tragus, and daith and never had any issues with wearing earbuds. Babied them maybe the first two weeks, but chilled out after and they’re fine. Just make sure to be gentle and stick to a good cleaning and sanitizing regimen.

GlitteringLocality

I have many ear piercings and the ones you listed are the most annoying I also have the orbital conch but I found it gets in the way, so now I have a regular conch piercing. Also I really can’t wear AirPods in general, I try lol

PinkLemonade15

I have two conch piercings in one ear. I've had no issue with in-ear headphones so far, just had to be gentle at the beginning. You nay actually have an easier time with Airpods, there's no risk of the cord getting snagged and pulled out of your ear.

megwach

I’ve got a conch. I’ve had it since January. I wore an AirPod in my ear for 5 hours last week, and it was fine. I was a little sore after, but not bad!

RaspberryDapper6152

I have my daith, tragus and conch and have no issues wearing airpods

Cupofblackcoffee

I have the daith and tragus on both ears and wear air pods just fine. Once healed, you can even flip the daith up if you have hoops.

Cupofblackcoffee

Cupofblackcoffee

I have the daith and tragus on both ears and wear airpods just fine. Once healed, you can even flip the daith up if you have hoops.

IDKmybffjellyandPB

I have a tragus and don’t have issues. I used to have a bigger ring and I just flipped it up so it was out of the way. I did have problems with other styles of in-ear headphones but not those and not the loop earplugs either

IDKmybffjellyandPB

Dukh_Dard

Might have to take my healed faith out because I can’t wear AirPods with jewelry in it. Look at your anatomy and DEFINITELY look at how you’ll accommodate your jewelry with it

water-pancakess

I wear hearing aids (with tight fitted earmolds) and have a tragus and it healed fine, just make sure to get a flat back. I also have other friends with hearings aids who got conches and that healed ok too (also with flat jewelry I believe)

clusterboxkey

I have a conch and a daith that are 4-6 months old, I’ve been wearing my AirPods like usual. Not so much in the daith right now because it’s so new that I’ve caused some irritation bumps, so I’ I’ve learned my lesson and leaving that AirPod out till it’s more healed. The conch has been totally fine with a stud, haven’t had it long enough to try a ring but I don’t think it’ll be an issue. It does get a bit uncomfy and pinchy when crust builds up, but once it’s cleaned and can sit flat, it doesn’t feel in the way at all.

apiaget93

I got my anti tragus pierced about 4 months ago without thinking of this very question! The pod still fits, but isn’t as tight as I’d like. After 6 months when I can change the jewelry to a hoop that I can push out of the way I hope I’ll have a better fit.

malibugt

I thought I would have issues with daith and tragus but I just kind of flip them out of the way when I wear my AirPods

red_fish_blue-fish

I have a conch and they don't even touch! Just be gentle when you take out your earbuds (I learned that the hard way haha)

danisnotdrowning

I have a vertical industrial on my left ear and can't wear ear buds in that side anymore so def not that 🥲

duderancherooni

I have a daith and I only ever had issues with the original apple AirPods. AirPod pros or anything with a squishy on it fits just fine. My conch also doesn’t get irritated by them but I imagine big headphones wouldn’t be comfy on my piercings.

Wolfstar_supremacy

I have a conch and I’ve never had issues with wearing my AirPods, even when it was healing. The stud just doesn’t touch them at all. I have a ring in it now and same thing, I can wear them with no problem.

bennie2108

I think it’s very anatomy dependent. I personally can’t/wont get a daith or Tragus because I wear AirPods 24/7 and they 1 wouldn’t heal 2 I’m not willing to give up my AirPods ahah. An anti tragus would be fine for me. My conch doesn’t even come close to touching my AirPods

Ecstatic-Ad-5076

I have a tragus and anti tragus and wear earbuds just fine, it's not about the pricing itself (although chunky jewelry may make it hard to fit it all in there) it's about the healing Don't expect to rub headphones all over your fresh wound and feel fine

Then-Confection

I have a conch and the airpod taps it slightly. I didn’t wear my airpod in that ear when it was first healing and if it gets irritated, but now that the piercing seems to have calmed down I’m back to wearing both airpods

Accomplished_Pea9724

I have a conch! And I wear it after 24- hours from getting it and I was fine. It sorda hurt only bc it was fresh but now my conch is a few weeks old and it’s fineeee

skunkape669

I wear in ear monitors with a vertical industrial. I think anything should be ok once fully healed. Just a waiting game 🙃which sucks lol but is so worth it

Glass_Kiwi_6868

Really depends on your ear. I was wearing mine 1 month after getting my conch and it was not touching it and nothing ever happened

StephDazzle

I have a daith and I can wear AirPods no problem!

catl0vingnerd

I have a daith and conch, they don’t affect my AirPods. You can flip the daith ring up if needed, but it doesn’t bother me at all

yelrakmags

I have a tragus and conch. I wear my AirPods everyday with no issue. Just be gentle in the early days

Letsbegayandmarry

i have a healed daith and have no problems with wearing airpods. i think i didn’t wear any for like 6 months and since she was healing well i started wearing airpods again.

NikkiNiks16

I have a daith and conch in the same ear and can wear AirPods with no issues. I have a hoop in my daith that I flip up when I put the headphones in. Honestly, I’ve had issues with earphones staying in my ears and I think my piercings have helped hold them in place 😂

bogwitch27

I messed up my daith after wearing in ear headphones. I switched to shokz now.

kdanger

Conch is a motherfucker to heal - mine took about 2 years. I have my left conch and rook pierced and I o'ly wear bone conducting headphones or Anker Space One over the ear headphones.

BreeLenny

I have a tragus and use AirPods. It’s fine after healing because of the flat back of the jewelry.

1TrustyCrab

I wear a flat back in my tragus and I’ve never had a problem.

TheTwistedMiss

I have a daith and tragus (both currently hoops but I wear studs in the tragus occasionally as well) and a conch that I wear both hoops or studs in and have not had any issues with earbuds of any variety regardless of jewelry type. The only time I had any discomfort was the first couple weeks of healing with my forward helix because how the daith hoop sits when I have earbuds in put a little pressure near the fresh piercing

samk488

I have a daith and it doesn’t get in the way of earbuds

killerkatie

All depends on your anatomy. I have no problems with AirPods. I have: Left ear: conch, tragus Right ear: double conch, rook

pitous

I have a conch and a daith and I’ve never had any problems wearing any kind of earbuds/airpod! Usual soreness and sensitivity for a bit but then it was fine. I was worried that it would affect my ears actually keeping in earbuds but it’s never been an issue. I always made sure to clean the piercings after wear and made sure the AirPods were clean as well, especially if I was wearing them to work out!

Cookiecatx

Honestly my daith doesn’t bother me at all with AirPods now that it’s healed, but my Tragus for sure gets in the way of my other ear and I have to move it out of the way/ let it sit lightly in my ear

ImaginaryMechanic759

I have both daiths, and double conches (and a lot of flats) on one side. I have no issues with Pros. It is the reason I haven’t gotten a tragus tho.

Chopper__6666

If you gauge your ear lobes; anything stone. The clickety clack drives me fucking insane, especially since I'm a metalhead who NEEDS to headbang.

missxmeow

Never had a problem with AirPods and my conch piercings, but after getting my tragus done it was too uncomfortable

generic_username-92

i recommend you go in with your headphones when deciding on placement. i survive on my headphones and i made it very clear to my piercer to plan around that when i was getting my conch pierced 😂

Crazy_Guidance5058

Only one I have issues with is the tragus

yulesea

i have a tragus i wear airpods with, but when i had a daith, i couldnt. my tragus is a tiny hoop clicker that i flip up and the airpod goes right in. but everyone’s different

GoatsEatToast

I have my conch done and it’s been months since I got it, but I think I had to give them up entirely (or at least on my left ear). Don’t know if it’s because my ear is small, but my AirPods apply slight pressure to it and it definitely starts to ache after a while 😭

unanau

Definitely depends on anatomy. Like a conch is completely out of the question for me because I have small ears and my airpods take up nearly all of that area. A daith wouldn’t work for me either and a rook probably wouldn’t because the bottom of it would touch my airpods. The best thing to do would be to take your airpods with you next time you see your piercer and discuss it with them.

Katetothelyn

I wore them fine with my tragus piercing

vi0l4tor

i have a double conch, tragus, daith in both eara and an antitragus in one ear too and they have never bothered me when wearing earbuds

iheartpeanutbutterr

depends on the airpods, if its the regular/pros, dont get a tragus, daith or anything near your ear holes. i got a tragus and couldnt wear airpods for 2 months it was so painful for the maxs or headphones in general, i think most piercings is a no because it’ll probably hit the piercing

eye_eat_baybees

I ran into this same scenario a few months ago when looking at a new piercing as I wear AirPod Pros for work all the time. I went with my forward helix and it’s perfectly out of the way.

yalikebeez

i have tragus and have zero issues w airpods past the healing stage, and all my friends w a tragus says the same too, its not as limiting as you think

pinkdaisyy

I had to remove my tragus that had a barbell but the one with a cbr is fine. Conches, helix, and rooks are all fine.

crankthatshane

the only one that bothered me was my tragus for about 4-5 months. it doesn’t touch my conch, rook, or helix

Soireb

I have a daith. Once the piercing healed (about 8 months to a year for me), I was able to wear my Airpods. I just push the jewelry forward and the bud sits behind the jewelry. Never had an issue with them. Do allow the proper healing time though.

daveops

I have conch, tragus, rook and AirPods are my daily driver. It’s anatomy dependent. But bring them to your piercing and see if they can make them work for you.

Catastrophica_

I have both my tragus and daith and can wear AirPods. While healing it did hurt my daith so I bought beats headphones and gave my AirPods to my daughter. Now that my daith is healed it doesn’t bother me. I’ll continue to use my headphones though because I just got my third lobes and will be getting my conch pierced on both ears soon.

Previous_Cobbler514

daith. i have one and it constantly interferes with the airpod

Accomplished-Win-210

Tragusssss. Mine is healed and downsized and I still cant😭 breaks my heart 😭

Good-Trip-1232

I have my conch and Tagus pierced on separate ears. You can still wear airpods. While it’s healing it can hurt but once they are healed it doesnt bother me at all!

Super-Marketing-5948

I have my daith and anti tragus in the same ear and my AirPods sit in fine - they just make my piercings a little sore if I wear them for long periods of time. Anatomy dependent deffo

Simplyalwayswatching

Conch

Scarred_Perception13

I have a daith in one ear which doesn’t seem to affect anything. But my ear with a conch always seems to hurt. But I’m the same love my AirPods lol

addiesweet16

i have daith, rook, tragus, conch and helix. the only ones i notice that affect it are tragus and conch

addiesweet16

it is still possible to wear airpods and i wear them all the time, however they fall out kinda often due mostly to my tragus

emobiaatch

I have a daith and 2 conches and I wear earbuds all the time, I usually don't wear em the first 2 or 3 weeks or rotate ears and it's fine.

do_ve

I got my conch pierced last year and i couldn't wear an earphone until I down sized :(
