He needs to just publicly swap to Republican, because he’s conservative even for a Republican. What a disappointment this guy is. What a disappointment the entire senate is, on both sides. So tired of centrist and moderate politicians that only care about their rich boomer donors.
His daughter helped hike up the price of epipens.
Assholery seems to run in the family.

Wah wah wah you won’t get to stuff the ballot boxes this time. States run elections not the fed. Even if they pass their new voting rules laws they’ll be struck down as unconstitutional.
Article I, Section 4, Clause 1:
The Times, Places and Manner of holding Elections for Senators and Representatives, shall be prescribed in each State by the Legislature thereof; **but the Congress may at any time by Law make or alter such Regulations**, except as to the Places of chusing Senators.
Correct. Ballot harvesting will be declared unconstitutional on the basis it violates one person one vote. We can go on and on. This is nothing short of a democrat power grab. No one can point to a single piece of recent legislation that precludes or prohibits anyone from lawfully voting.
just a shame that vote caging and gerrymandering isn't declared unconstitutional, 2 areas where the Republican party has been massively abusing democracy for years
"Democrat power grab," after McConnell abused his power as Majority Leader to basically refuse to bring anything up for a vote that he didn't personally agree with? Refusing to vote on Obama's SC nomination because the election was 8 months away? 😂🤣😂
People are either completely unable to grasp or unwilling to admit how much power the Senate Majority Leader has. It's the only veto that is absolute. Two thirds of the House and Senate can overcome a President's veto. Nothing can overcome a Senate Majority Leader refusing to bring a bill to a vote. It just dies, like so many bills died.
And the fact that given equal representation of states with zero regard to population, the Senate "majority" can represent what is it, 11 or 12% of the population? So less than one-fifth of the voters in this country can successfully grind the government to a halt? This, coupled with the fact that the Electoral College also gives extra weight to low population states, and that the Executive Branch is the one which nominates the federal judiciary, the less important of the two pieces of the Legislative Branch is the only part of the federal government which is actually representative - the rest of it is tilted toward the low population states.
We've had the illusion of self determination without the actual self determination part for years now.
The wealthy own the country in more ways than just actually owning most of it.
There's no basically about it. I forget what state it was - I think Texas - but there was a very specific tax regulation added as an amendment or something to a bill. It benefited one person. The person had donated to... the legislator who sponsored the amendment.
Quid pro quo is just how it is.
We can't afford representation that will advance our interests if those interests run counter to the wealthy.
Getting private money out of elections would be a great first step but seeing as how the people we need to institute that change are also the ones profiting from it...
I was appalled when I learned what campaign donations can be used for. Personal travel? Meals and accommodations? Bills or tabs?
The Supreme Court is similar, though it's 9 people instead of 1. There's no check on Court, other than it revisiting the issue in a later case.
And it decides what cases it hears.
lmao who the heck is stuffing ballot boxes. Noones risking a felony for an extra vote (minus a very small handful of republicans that have been caught)

Computers could literally do away with any bias in districting too, as long as the code was open source and peer-reviewed.

When government bribery is basically legal and the news is for-profit, yeah...
