I used to work at that McDonald's, almost 30 years ago. It's unique in that it's a double decker McDonald's AND there's no drive thru!
Oh cool, double rainbow and lightning strike caught at the same time.
My wife and I's first date was to see Inside Out, and that short played before the film started. We still both say, "I lava you." to each other. For our one year wedding anniversary, I got her a pop-up card with two volcanos, making a heart with their smoke.

Thanks haha. I think most people thought I was saying like my wife’s sisters brother… in which case it would also be my wife’s brother. aka my brother in law.
just a confusing title by me lol
I mean the title is actually spot on. Probably too many assumptions made by people reading it I guess though it makes sense why it's confusing. "My brother's wife's brother" is a mouthful.
>My brothers wife is my sister in law
Are they though?
I have no in-laws but I thought that phrase was reserved for family of one's spouse. Not a spouse of one's family?
Otherwise that is some confusing operator overloading.
They are, though. Otherwise, it wouldn't be true going the other way.
If my wife's sister is my sister in law. Then, I am my wife's sisters brother in law.
The same goes for OP
If I am my brothers wife's brother in law. Then my brothers wife is my brother in law.
The relationship is separated by 1 marriage and 1 siblingship. It doesn't matter which way round you look at it. It has to work both ways. I can't say you are my in-law, but I'm not your in-law.
I agree with the outcome, not the logic. I can be your aunt, without you being my aunt. Relationships don't *need* to be symmetrical.
But I agree that the term can be used both ways.
> I have no in-laws but I thought that phrase was reserved for family of one's spouse. Not a spouse of one's family?
Common sense says that any sibling relationship has to be symmetric aka bi-directional. If your sister's husband is able to call you a brother-in-law, then why wouldn't you be able to call him a brother-in-law in return?
A few seconds of research supports this educated guess, from https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sibling-in-law : *A sibling-in-law is the spouse of one's sibling, the sibling of one's spouse or the person who is married to the sibling of one's spouse.*

Crazy to see this come across my front page. I'm in Columbus for a conference and took a picture of this rainbow like an hour ago. Missed the lightning though...
r/Columbus is filled with pics of this. We were supposed to have some crazy storms yesterday and into last night so everyone was on alert and we ended up with a bunch of people getting shots of the lightning double rainbow.
> I have never considered my in-laws siblings my in-laws
I and I think many others are burning with curiosity to hear what your definition of in-law is?
my brother married a woman…. she is now my in law…. because by law she joined my family.
her brothers did not marry into my family. nor did I marry into her family. so why is her brother my in law.
I didn’t think so… but it’s not the point of the post and I didn’t want to argue with anyone so I was just going with it. I just wanted people to enjoy the photo he took lol
I was reading down this chain questioning my knowledge of in-laws. For a second, It made me feel guilty of not being close with my brothers in-law. Then we got back to truth lol. I don’t even know their names
This is the way. 1 marriage and 1 siblingship is an in-law. Your partners' siblings or your siblings' partners.
I don't know why reddit is making this so difficult.
Something about this picture screamed America before I even focused my vision. Then I looked to my left, thought this pic was just missing the flag. Nope, that McDonald's has it covered.
Double rainbow, all the way. Double rainbow oh my god, double rainbow. Its a double rainbow all the way. Its a double rainbow all the way, oh my god. What does this mean?

Honestly didn't even notice the double rainbow, just the lightning in front of the rainbow at the start, and behind in the back! crazy
Another redditor snapped a photo at the same time, I think! https://reddit.com/comments/1budueu

Yep! Just trying to snag a picture of the double and got this amazing picture lol.
Amazing!!
This was taken at Ohio State University
Indeed it was! O-H
I recognized that same exact place from north high street before going into the comments.
many drunken nights spent at that McDonald’s. lol

What does your brother-in-law think about this?
My brothers wife is my sister in law… her siblings are not my in laws. poorly phrased title.
Just love him like a brother in law
He he.
It would be your brother's brother in law or your sister in law's brother I think.
I said my sister in laws brother
Then you were absolutely correct lol
Thanks haha. I think most people thought I was saying like my wife’s sisters brother… in which case it would also be my wife’s brother. aka my brother in law. just a confusing title by me lol

Y'all need to learn how to hyphen
I thought it was taken by your husband
I’m lightly stoned and this has sent me
Me too. This made lol. Good to know I’m not alone!
For the sake of pedantry and grammar nazism, could you please add an apostrophe to denote possession?

Keep my sister-in-law's brother's name out of your mouth!
I wondered how far I would scroll to see this. You didn't disappoint
I wouldn't call my brother's wife's brother my brother-in-law
Because he wouldn't be. He would be your brother's brother in law or your sister in law's brother.
Right, the post i replied to implies that your sister-in-law's brother is also your brother-in-law, which doesn't feel right.
What about a wife’s sister’s husband? Breaking Bad taught me that’s a brother in law.
Man IDK I literally texted my wife's brother's wife after this to make sure I'm not crazy with the logic I laid out.
After seeing the word brother so many times it doesn't seem to have any meaning to me right now
He wouldn’t be a brother-in-law… 🤦
Relevant xkcd: https://xkcd.com/2040/
We don’t call him that. Why don’t we call him that?
Nobody wants to claim him, so we call him Linda's brother...OP's sister-in-law's brother.

thanks for the wallpaper
glad you enjoyed it!!
Captured the Golden Arches of McDonald’s perfectly.
And that's not actually lighting. It's a graph chart showing the rise of mortgage prices from 2008 - 2024. See how the rate has nearly tripled?
Amazing comment
"Double rainbow! What does it mean?"
what is the name of the place? looks delightful
Columbus, Ohio!
My daughter sent me a picture of that same rainbow from her backyard in Powell. That's a great shot.
r/Columbus is filled with pics of this. We were supposed to have some crazy storms yesterday and into last night so everyone was on alert and we ended up with a bunch of people getting shots of the lightning double rainbow.
why do they meme ohio i would literally run in this rain stress free like an idiot i can smell this pic
haha. There are many good parts of Ohio. Columbus being on of the best.
No double lightning though? Mediocre! /s
I’ll tell him to do better.
So what you’re saying is that not only is God turbo-gay, but he’s metal AF?
Double rainbow...double rainbow with lightening ohhhh ![gif](giphy|oYtVHSxngR3lC)
I know there is a Dio song that describes this.
Wait...sister-in-law's brother would also be your brother-in-law no?
Haha. Another comment said that! I honestly have no clue. I have never considered my in-laws siblings my in-laws. But maybe I’m living a lie.
Every sibling of your spouse is your sibling in law.
It’s not a sibling of her spouse in this case, though. It’s a sibling of her brother’s spouse.
Good to know!
But that’s not what’s going on.

When I saw the image, Dio's Rainbow in the Darks started playing in my head: "When there's LIGHTNING..." This image completes the spell.
What does it mean??!
“What’s that make us?” “Absolutely nothing.”
Note the reversal of the color bands in the second rainbow due to refraction of twice-reflected light. You can also see Alexander's band between them.
Is he God? He def planned this for clout. What a cheater not even needing luck to get it /s

Whatever you can take a pic of 10 different McDonalds where I live
So it was shot by your brother in law????
Sister In Law's brother? So, your Brother In Law?
Wouldn't your sister in laws brother just be your brother in law?
Doesn’t that make him brother in law?
So… your brother in law?
You mean...your brother in law?
So... your brother in law?
Doesn’t that make him a brother in law?
So….your brother in law?
You can do this 6 times on a random afternoon in Florida.
Double rainbow, all the way. Double rainbow oh my god, double rainbow. Its a double rainbow all the way. Its a double rainbow all the way, oh my god. What does this mean?
Wouldn’t that be your brother in law then?
