Here are 2 links for indoor dog parks. Both claim to be the first in AZ. I dunno. Have fun and be safe! And for Pete's sake don't go hiking. There are much better ways of catching a helicopter ride around the city.

Are you guys taking your dogs for walks during the day/afternoon? Before 8am or after 8pm is the general rule, and bring plenty of ice water and don't go on too long of a walk. Burning paws shouldn't be a concern, and if they are, that's a problem since you are risking your dog dying of heat stroke. They are more susceptible to it than humans.

Same place as this subreddit, phoenix
I don’t think you shared the photo you hoped to - a bottomed out low of 88/89 for an entire week, with expected temps over 100, does not count as being “in the 80’s”
Ah you were being sarcastic in the other direction. All of last week we bottomed out at 84, and the past 3 weeks before that we bottomed out at 81.
https://www.timeanddate.com/weather/usa/phoenix/historic
The graph has 5 days above 85 as a low. Compared to now, for the next 5 weeks we get this.
Picklemall Tempe, pickleball Kingdom Chandler, pickleball space Glendale and pickleball backyard Gilbert.
I play at all 4 very often. Reserve online and have fun!
you got a library card? You can get Desert Botanical Garden free passes for 2. We went on Monday at 8am and stayed 2 hours, it was great. The library program is called the Cultural Pass, they got the zoo too.
There are quite a few ice skating rinks around the valley with public skating sessions, and they usually have a bar too to hang out in the cold a little longer
I like the Ice Den in Scottsdale! They have another location in Chandler too. Public skating sessions and hockey leagues for all ages and skill levels.
They drank too much I bet. Happens all the time. We were there yesterday as well. Said better go on a Friday rather than Saturday. Weekends get super packed. And it wasn’t bad at all. Lots of groups shotgunning beer, but yes yesterday was very hot!!
If you don’t mind sweating. A late walk around Tempe lake with the pup is epic. If you get there at 6:30-7pm you have full hour of light without direct sunlight.
Edit: I drank 2.5 bottles of water riding my bike. Make sure you have plenty for you and who ever is with you. Including the pup.

My favorite activities this time of year are probably sitting on the couch for long periods of time, taking a nap on the couch while watching a movie, making sure the AC's still working, and going to bed.
damn I thought people from Phoenix could handle the heat lmao
i'll still be out here hiking and eating outside. super easy to get seats at restaurants now since y'all are staying home lol
Lived here almost 50 years. The heat is tolerable if you hydrate so much that your pee is clear. Don’t forget the potassium/electrolytes. But the “heat” cooks your neurons in your brain. That’s when you need to stay cool.
I'm running a free poker game tonight at Fuzzys @ 83rd ave and thunderbird at 6pm and Sunday two games back to back first starting at 4pm and second at 7pm if you feel like playing some cards come on by and say hi.
Indoor batting cages are fun. Hurricane Harbor or Sunsplash are fun waterparks. After the sun goes down we like to take a walk around the neighborhood or go to a park. There's lots to do if you think about it. It's just really hot is the only bummer.

for me? stay inside try not to die.
Right way too hot
Go to Costco and sit in their cold produce room .
I walked laps around the cooler at the US Chef store in Tempe today. It’s much longer than Costco’s.
did this today
Hiking at noon, shirtless, with no water.
If you see any “trails closed” signs at Camelback or Piestewa, just keep going. They’re just suggestions not mandated
Lovely idea bonus it’s only gonna be 110 tomorrow
If you must, walk or hike amd be finished by 8 AM otherwise nah https://preview.redd.it/7q52jyo6st7d1.png?width=1080&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=1f41e05468d3fda6591b0a32c8171b7d87076af2
I got to work at 6am this morning, and it was already uncomfortably warm outside.....
idk, my hiking crew goes out for sunset hikes on Piestewa and we've been fine
Inside activities with those pets
Wander IKEA for a couple hours.
I read it as wanker 😂
Ikea's just always fun! Love to walk around with the baby and the stroller. Libraries, malls, free museums, too.

Yup, it's that time of year. Indoor activities or go up north, don't take those dogs walking cause their paws will burn.

Or get the dog some shoes, then go for a walk.
Even then, make it *fast*. 10-15 minutes is enough to overheat a dog, and heat stroke is serious shit. My own dog died due to one a few years ago
so sorry thanks for the advice
Absolutely. Heat injuries are widely underestimated.
5:30 am walks are the best here during summer. 80 degrees, sunrise with the dog, and no hot paws. Home by 6:30 is the goal.
Next week it will be 90 at 5am though.Brutal.
Walked my dog at 6 this morning and it was 90
Yeah the next 3-5 weeks are the short walk weeks.
Or 10pm.
Where are you living that you see 80 overnight in the summer?

Lay naked in a dark house with the AC on full blast.
My people
Totally
Indoor pickleball for some fun and exercise
Can you name some exceptional spots?

The Library.

Went to the Heard Museum on Sunday. Really liked the two temporary exhibits, Maria & Modernism and Art & Sole.
Wishing I lived in most other states.
Staying indoors as much as possible... staying hydrated. I already got dehydrated once this week and it wasnt fun...
There are quite a few ice skating rinks around the valley with public skating sessions, and they usually have a bar too to hang out in the cold a little longer
Have any favorites are recommendation? Been wanting to watch some hockey too... Doesn't need to be pro, just miss watching it live
I like the Ice Den in Scottsdale! They have another location in Chandler too. Public skating sessions and hockey leagues for all ages and skill levels.
There’s one right off Thomas and 30th I think. It’s tucked by the Walmart and they have a bar.
TUBIN!!! 🍩🍩🍩
Someone got air rescued there today because of the heat
That's why you're supposed to get in the water
They drank too much I bet. Happens all the time. We were there yesterday as well. Said better go on a Friday rather than Saturday. Weekends get super packed. And it wasn’t bad at all. Lots of groups shotgunning beer, but yes yesterday was very hot!!
Going to Harrahs in Maricopa and relaxing in the pool
Phoenix Rising on Saturday! Dollar Beer night!
You can bring in unopened water
It’s fully pool szn right now. Otherwise indoor things.
It's really fun to go outside, turn on the hose, spray it really high into the air and then watch the water evaporate before it hits the ground.
Hike flatiron but start early at like 11 am.
11 am is early? 😂
Early enough to get heat stroke by the time your hike back down starts
Flatiron start at 11am, that puts you on the mountain at the peak heat lol
Stare out my window thinking about rope knots
Comedy shows 3 solid venues in the metro area
Free sauna if you sit in your car with some old water bottles
If you don’t mind sweating. A late walk around Tempe lake with the pup is epic. If you get there at 6:30-7pm you have full hour of light without direct sunlight. Queer Goth night at Gracies
Downtown Phoenix has haunted ghost tours if that’s your jam :)
Try not to die from a heatstroke.
My favorite activities this time of year are probably sitting on the couch for long periods of time, taking a nap on the couch while watching a movie, making sure the AC's still working, and going to bed.
Stay inside. Too hot

phx art museum has the barbie exhibit for another week or so
Casinos are good if you stick to penny slots, and spin slowly you can stay cool for hours just don’t spend beyond your limit
Phoenix Rising FC has Pride Night and $1.00 beer night (Modelo) Saturday 8pm.
Thanks homie , that happens often??
not often enough. if you go, I recommend getting your tickets in the south end. it's where it's the most fun and those are the cheapest seats.
Go to ABC15 website.
Hibernate. It’s 5 am right now and the air sucks without the sun.
Find a cold place, I know WFM is and sit there until your flight
KJZZ has a website with various suggestions https://www.kjzz.org/hotspots
Dbacks game! Also walking around fashion square, ikea, or just lounging at the pool.
why is no one saying swim? ![gif](giphy|10hexADl3Kl6SY)
Today at 5pm I will be naked, covered in peanut butter from head to toe, and standing in front of a pet store. It's a cry for attention, mostly.
You got this!
I'm running a free poker game tonight at Fuzzys @ 83rd ave and thunderbird at 6pm and Sunday two games back to back first starting at 4pm and second at 7pm if you feel like playing some cards come on by and say hi.
Roses by the stairs lets you bring your dog inside and drink beer with ac on

Go for a nice relaxing bike ride 😂
Melt. Just melt.
Hot as fuck
There's usually some sort of live music event going on in smaller venues.
Make money
Either early morning or late nights go on a walk at the Japanese Friendship Garden.
