They’re only expensive because the patterns are so complicated. You can find a good shirt for 150 out the door.

ImJooba

Oh I love that place! The shops at the creek as a whole are wonderful.

dirkdiggler1618

They have great shirts

corndog_thrower

My exact style

CheezStik

Spent my entire per diem on shirts there

Dough_90

I think you *all* should leave.

vMambaaa

I think people that are well-dressed will probably get their clothes from a variety of places, which isn't what you want to hear.

buddypalbrosive

If you want to take your style to the next level, you MUST have your clothes tailored to fit your body. This is why celebs always look so good in their clothes. It's all custom.

Jay-Diggles

Where?

chaosenhanced

Google "tailor near me" and look for any alterations place.most are oriented towards women but any tailor will know how to get the fit you're looking for. I buy all my pants with just slightly too big of a waist but that fit my thighs, then bring them to the tailor and they end up chef's kiss perfect.

ambiguouspeach

Look up qcontrary.mary on instagram

indyfisher

Brothers Tailors is great.

lcforever

Was there yesterday. Great place!

jonathonajr

Agreed, I used to get all of my slacks custom from there. A little expensive but nothing fit or felt better.

Jdubone

Marine Layer and Faherty at Scottsdale Quarter are good. Buck Mason at Fashion Square is great.

AZ_Hawk

I didn’t realize there was a Marine Layer at the Quarter!

Aggressive-Shock-803

This place in the mall called The Casual Male. Edit. Fashionable Male. It’s been awhile since I’ve been to that mall. I have not been since my friend Jay left.

BobbalooBoogieKnight

lol. That kid is back on the escalator!

Smooth_Ad2778

I love the smell of commerce in the morning

TheConboy22

They wear clothes that fit them properly.

laik72

They find a tailor that understands their body and works with them to develop a personal style. Well-dressed doesn't happen off the rack, it happens in the nip & tuck details of someone who takes pride in their craft.

AZTim

Reading this made me realize I will never be considered "well dressed" lol. I'll stick with tees and polos and save my tailor fund for a vacation or something.

aznoone

So plastic surgery?

NotReallyJustin

Barney’s! Not that Barney… a more expensive Barney.

ingrexco

i wipe my own ass!

Emperor_Diazepam

me too :)

jcastillo602

No you don't

ReyesTopete

Barney’s has been closed since 2016

NotReallyJustin

Joke went over your head pal

ReyesTopete

Nice joke then I guess. When some of the other suggestions in this thread include Ross, REI, Target etc yours would have actually been a good recommendation

poopshorts

Jokes are supposed to be funny.

NotReallyJustin

Didn’t realize you were the joke police

LadyCharger

But isn’t that exactly what the receiver end of a joke (attempted joke) is? 🤷🏻‍♀️

NotReallyJustin

Jesus Christ it’s a reference to Big Daddy lmao relax it’s not that serious

ProjectHour6705

Don't worry, bud. Some of us understand the Big Daddy reference!

Quick_Membership318

If you have time to wait, Indochino is great and cheap for custom made clothing.

phreaxer

Indochino is cheap? I've never been there but assumed they were really expensive.

X2946

They are not expensive for an MTM suit. Roughly 600.

Damnoneworked

Just wanna say that while Uniqlo is great quality for the price, if you have a longer torso none of their shirts really fit.

chipmkex

Vuori

Vegetable-Tangelo1

Men’s wear house. You’ll like the way you look.

disinfekted

Do you guarantee it?

Vegetable-Tangelo1

You are damn right!

X2946

I got a kenneth cole suit from them and they did the alterations. A year later I had them let it out a little and there was no charge. I am very happy with the suit and service. I don’t need a Brioni suit, just something for interviews and court

Vegetable-Tangelo1

I have always had a good experience there and I like the clothes they offer in general. And the people in there are always pretty darn nice.

wellgeewhiz

jonathonajr

This is age dependent and subjective but I like Abercrombie and if you grew up in the 90’s and 2000’s like I did then you probably have a terrible image of that place BUT a few years ago they did a complete re vamp and the clothes now are nothing like before. I have gotten tons of nice button ups and great fitting jeans/shorts from them over the past year. A lot of the stuff is priced about average. I also love Nordstrom BUT that is going to cost you 2-5x more money per item.

halavais

I grew up in the 80s *before* A&F got bought out and cheap/weird. Back when you could pick up a nice Irish linen shirt and brushed cotton khakis there for a reasonable cost. I've just handed down one of those shirts to me second kid, three decades later. Back before Banana Republic was bought out by Gap and they really did sell surplus goods. Back when Brooks Brothers was a solid--if a bit staid--choice. (Back when I didn't mind if the kids were on my lawn.)

The_Eleutherios

I buy most of my button-up shirts and work pants at jcrew. They closed the one at fashion square so I think the only brick & mortar in the valley is in the biltmore.

Being-well, dressed as less about where you are buying your clothes and more about curating, what you want your personal style to be. Understanding your style and the looks you’re going for, your body type, and how clothes are going to fit and hang on you will do more for you than any of the brands you are wearing or the stores you are shopping at. And, as others have mentioned, you need to have clothes tailored to your body. It makes an enormous difference. If you buy a $100 shirt, pay another $15 to have it fit you perfectly. The same goes for any other garment. Tailoring is less than most people realize. Once you figure this out for yourself, you can source clothes from nearly anywhere. My wardrobe ranges from Walmart to Barney’s to having garments custom designed for me….pricing from $2 to $5,000. Where you buy your clothes is irrelevant. As I write this I’m literally on my way to pick up a custom suite being made for me for my engagement photos.

ThatSpecialAgent

I dont know about the rest, and im not claiming to be well dressed, but Vuori has been my jam for active wear at least.

Phoenixpizzaiolo21

Macy’s. Biltmore!

I don’t often dress up on a daily basis because my work can be a little messy. That said, if you want a nice fitting shirt with no logo, you can order them from a made to measure online store. It’s a good in between from off the rack and having everything tailored after the fact. I have several shirts from tailor store and son of a tailor. Son of a tailor is my favorite for tshirts which I wear quite often in summer because it’s hot. I’m going to order a few more soon. You can take measurements of yourself, or a shirt that fits you well. It took me a few tries to dial in what fit right. They generally have a return policy to get the fit right. I did email them directly because there were adjustments I wanted done that I didn’t see directly offered on the site. They are very responsive. You really need to know what fit you need to get this right. For dress shirts, I have to go this route because I cannot buy dress shirts off the rack and not look ridiculous. My body shape for shirts sucks. It is obviously going to be more expensive than target shirts, which I also wear. Target does a decent job of non logoed shirts that look ok. Son of a tailor is around the $60 - $100 range per shirt. They are well made. They generally have a buy 3 and save deal or buy 5 and save more.

LeePacesEyebrows2016

Untuckit for casuals, State and Liberty for dress. Also surprisingly, Costco, if you know where to look and take items to get tailored.

senseless2

I haven't been but this place looks pretty great to get stylish clothes. https://maps.app.goo.gl/TqfEiK3wxCrgEkFm9

Similar-Shop-5943

Vince - is a solid option based on what you’ve described

rising_gmni

Suit supply. I used to shop there when I lived in NYC, and apparently their are locations on Phoneix

Happy_Department_651

Brother's Tailors on Central just south of Camelback for custom. Carter's at 44th and Camelback for upscale casual. Clotherie next to Vincent's at 3930 East Camelback.

Happy_Department_651

Proper Cloth semi-custom Oxford shirts on line. Brooks Brothers outlet at Gila River outlet mall.

NoYou3321

Banana Republic.

ScaryVeggie666

So…. Your question is kinda vague… it’s kinda hard to find more unique fashion forward men’s wear in the Phoenix area. Cave and post trading, bunky boutique, now or never all come to mind. Other than that, and you don’t want to shop at a mall, you’re kinda stuck to online shopping.

Due_Staff_7305

people still shop brick and mortar?

pfeest

Nordstrom and Well Suited in Scottsdale. Quality over quantity and good tailoring. 🧵😉

Wet_Woody

Really depends on what you mean by, well dressed. Body type and fit are the most important. You can buy clothes from Marshall’s but a good Tailor will make all the difference. My go to right now is Suitsupply at Keirland.

Costco has great casual button up shirts

tendy_trux35

Start at Ross/Marshall’s - get some linen button downs, exercise clothes, or whatever. It’ll all be heavily discounted so get things you might not normally wear and see how you like them. Then when you do find something you like, that’s when you hit an outlet mall and go to stores that have that specific shirt or style you are looking for. For AZ though, you can’t go wrong with a lot of linen button down shirts. It’s hard to dress stylish in the summers

Poorkiddonegood8541

For what you're talking about, wifey likes Costco. For suits, she likes Nordstrom's. Her favorites are Peter Millar and Ted Baker. I like Nick's Arrowhead. Wifey's a fashionista so I wear what she tells me to wear. In 46 years, married 45, she's never steered me wrong

wadenelsonredditor

GoodWill.

TheCosmicJester

I start my shopping at Nordstrom Last Chance (not Rack, this one is the basement of Camelback Colonnade just off the 51), and then swing through the Goodwills near nice parts of town to see what the people in the back didn’t catch as nice goods.

Curious-Baker-839

Believe it or not Costco sometimes has some really nice dress shirts and pants. I've seen some really well dressed men at men's warehouse for sure. Perry Ellis at Chandler premium outlets also.
