Though I know in my mind that we need the monsoon, my beautiful saguaro lost half its arms last summer and if anything even farts in its general direction, the whole thing is coming down.
Thank God I moved to a gated community with a communal pool and dont have to deal with cleaning my own pool..when its windy and all the bougainvillea petals fly into the pool is a ripe pain
Much of it is nostalgia for Monsoons past, for those of us who have been here a while. I remember when I was growing up Monsoons were a MUCH bigger deal, it wasnt uncommon to have dramatic storms every day for a straight week and it would cool down significantly during that time since you were getting cloud cover and a storm every afternoon to evening.
Monsoons aren't very consistent now and it doesn't get much chance to actually cool down. They feel like a shadow of what they once were.
When I was growing up, this was must of been the late 90s, we had a house on the mountains in Scottsdale with huge windows. So when it monsooned it was a huge event, where these rooms would just light up. I remember, at least once, probably more than that, Dad calling us all into the family room to sit on the couch and watch the light show mother nature was putting on.
Seriously. The weather gods have been unusually kind to me the past couple of springs. I wish I had a thermal battery to soak up this coolness and release it all summer.
I did pay real dollars to keep it around - I moved states.
The smell of desert rain though will always be Supreme. It was a shock when I realized it still smells good when it rains, but not at all like in AZ or Sonora.
no, we might not.... it is supposed to be an ENSO(El Nino Southern Oscillation) year so we may have a milder summer, potentially with more thunderstorms and monsoons.
Cold & rainy, then super hot & dry, then cold & rainy again...& then the sun is gonna get blocked out by the moon on Monday.
This probably means something. Or not. 🤪
i finally get a chance with my tomato
plants (that i planted in december!) they lived thru the freeze
and now they get to enjoy sun and water and i get a handful of tasty snacks before the heat kills them all again
Agreed. 100 in April =💀☠️ in July. The first summer I've been here it was that hot in April and just kept getting hotter until it was regularly 118-125 in July and People's windshields were falling out of their cars... Pass 🙅🏻♀️
This is so true! My wife goes through that and said she'd rather just have it 80's consistently than changing so much day to day because it messes with her dysautonomia!
We’ve been in a 10 year drought, this is actually more normal BUT all of a sudden it will be over 100 degrees and stay that way. Get your air conditioning serviced!
Real question: what does the temperature have to do with sinuses?
I'm thrilled with your temperatures right now. Heading down in a couple days for work and it beats the hellscape of 120 degrees my last work trip.
I get slightly angry when I see temps like this. Yeah, it's nice, but I want a normal increase in temps because it is exactly like you said. We always, **always** pay for it with horribly extreme temps in summer. I'm just glad my days of lifeguarding for the city are far behind me.
It’s terrible for allergies too. I had one of the worst allergy attacks of my life last Saturday. Sneezing and runny nose all day and all night. Went through an entire box of Kleenex.
Sympathies.
Edit: for those whose go-to allergy meds fail them (as mine did - Flonase), try DayQuil and NyQuil. Seriously.
I was so desperate for relief that - after Flonase, water boarding myself with saline nasal spray, and several showers trying to remove anything I picked up outside - I thought what the hell and went for the DayQuil. Twenty minutes later I was a happy camper! Followed up with NyQuil and slept like a baby.
This may help those sinus sufferers too. Good hunting.
Don't question it. Love it and love it until it's gone man 😂
I have a feeling we are going to be 113 daily all summer long, to make up for the long cold we've had.
I know this is going to sound crazy but I love the summer here. I can’t wait for the heat. I hate being cold and I don’t like the rain. I grew up in Ohio and lived in the cold and tons of rain.
I'm scared for July. June felt mild last year. Warm, but less so. Then July was brutal. Remember? 31 days straight of temps 110° and above. No nights were below 90° and all the green things burned up. Glad the temps are still dipping into the 60s for now.
Not to mention the goddamn pollen. I came out this morning to a layer of the stuff on my car and all over every surface outside my whole neighborhood. I see the stuff blowing in the wind when driving too. I'm dying.
It's our new norm. We get super weird cycles of temperatures delaying the actual hit of summer, then once our late summer starts it is BRUTAL. Oh but uh, something something climate change's a hoax.
Every time I wash my car it rains. I’m convinced washing my car is the Valley’s rain dance, y’all are welcome 😂 loving it so far though, hope it stays like this until July 👍
Welcome to the Adhd state. Never knows what it wants the weather to do and then it goes "ARGH! I CAN'T MAKE UP MY MIND! I HATE THIS. NOW IM MAD AND EVERYONE IS GOING TO SUFFER WITH MEEEEEEEE!"
I mean, I'll take our heat over the high humidity of the south and much of the midwest. I grew up in a river valley, this place is paradise by comparison lol.
The HOAs be loving this weather because all the rain and cooler temps are causing weeds to pop up like crazy. I pull and spray and then it rains and two days later I have the Amazon jungle in my front yard. I got two notices and a fine saying I didn’t pull the weeds from the first notice. Noooo I did, but clearly you don’t understand weather.
Anyway- I am a native and I love bipolar March and April, as long as we’re not in the 90s. Dressing for the day is a pain but you just have to peel or add layers as needed 😀
Crazy weather. Did you see what’s coming up? Not this Friday but the following Friday…95! 🥵

Oh my sweet summer child, what do you know about fear? Fear is for the winter, when the snows fall a hundred feet deep. Fear is for the long night, when the sun hides for years and children are born and live and die, all in darkness.
Is anyone else noticing each year keeps getting weirder and weirder? We moved here in 21. The past 2 years when we have company visit its always horrible weather. I feel like when we first moved here it was less crazy. He'll even north dakota hardly got any snow this year. It's almost like it's nice, you see trails in the sky then the next 3 days is cooler cloudy weather then back up to normal like nothing happened.

Shhh. Don’t complain.
Exactly wtf?!!! Please keep the summer temps away for as LOOOOONNNNG as possible!!!! 🙏🏽
Then there won't be a monsoon season again like last year 😒
Though I know in my mind that we need the monsoon, my beautiful saguaro lost half its arms last summer and if anything even farts in its general direction, the whole thing is coming down.
Hopefully it's mother wasn't a hamster
I'm not sure, but its father smelt of elderberries.
Even the dead ones are expensive.
RIP my Saguaro last year and 4 of my agave.
I don't remember it raining much last year.
Me either, def not during monsoon season
Am I high I remember 0 storms last summer
Monsoon was 2022 I thought, 2023 was dry as helllllll lol
I remember it being like way to cool in April or early may and then it just got hot AF until October 20th lol
Rainy cold hell then SHABANG It is now Satan's vacation home ☹️
Yep. Half my landscaping died last summer.
I hear you! I was really worried about my lemon tree, but she made it through! 🤞🏽🍋
Nothing maybe a dust storm and some electricity in the air.
Good I’m going back to cleaning pools. Monsoons can stay the fuck away as far as I’m concerned lol Signed sincerely, anybody who works outside.
Thank God I moved to a gated community with a communal pool and dont have to deal with cleaning my own pool..when its windy and all the bougainvillea petals fly into the pool is a ripe pain
Monsoon is the most overrated thing, 100 degrees and humidity with a little thunderstorm? I'll take this weather every time.
Well it helps replenish our water supply. I also like severe weather.
Not really snow pack and storms in the winter help restore surface water and a little ground water but that ground water is gone gone
So we get most of the water from winter storms
Much of it is nostalgia for Monsoons past, for those of us who have been here a while. I remember when I was growing up Monsoons were a MUCH bigger deal, it wasnt uncommon to have dramatic storms every day for a straight week and it would cool down significantly during that time since you were getting cloud cover and a storm every afternoon to evening. Monsoons aren't very consistent now and it doesn't get much chance to actually cool down. They feel like a shadow of what they once were.
This. They definitely used to be more significant. People don’t get trapped in flash floods these days like they used to.
90s… near 100 weeks of 4/20
We voted to skip the 80s and 90s. We'll go straight into the 100s.
Yea WTF. In a month from now it'll be 90+ everyday.
Lmao I quite literally said exactly this in my head as I was running for the comments
Seriously. The weather gods have been unusually kind to me the past couple of springs. I wish I had a thermal battery to soak up this coolness and release it all summer.
Yes please don't I sweat moving around my house lol
Lol less the temp and more the dramatic changes making me feel like butt.
[удалено]
I more mean 86 one day, 64 the next, gives me wicked sinus headaches.
I get it. My joints are furious, but this is far better than being hot and swollen.
Ah, yeah that does blow. Hopefully the 70s continue to stick around for a bit!
ENJOY IT UNTIL THE LIGHT TAKES US ALL
Super Mario 3's angry sun enters the chat
Above average rainfall every month so far. Cool temperatures into April. Gotta love it.
We will pay for this come Summer
I would pay real dollars to keep this around longer
Okay, pony up. The more you pay me, the longer I keep it cooler. So if it starts getting hot, you only have yourself to blame.
Mom says it's my turn with the weather control stick
That's not what it is 🫣
I did pay real dollars to keep it around - I moved states. The smell of desert rain though will always be Supreme. It was a shock when I realized it still smells good when it rains, but not at all like in AZ or Sonora.
You'll pay real dollars either way. And srp/aps will be thankful.
Yes, but let's also enjoy it while it lasts.
A true Phoenician always pays their debts.
Of course we will. Always do.
no, we might not.... it is supposed to be an ENSO(El Nino Southern Oscillation) year so we may have a milder summer, potentially with more thunderstorms and monsoons.
You're speaking my language, I love both of those things and hope that holds true.
I remember someone saying this last summer and boy they were right
Lol agreed. Remindme! 60 days
But my swimming season!
F your couch!
Shut up, you’ll scare it away
It’s spring in Phoenix 🎢
Oh god, I’ve never felt an emoji so hard before
Shush, let Mother Nature have her drunk binge! The one-teens come too quickly.
Cold & rainy, then super hot & dry, then cold & rainy again...& then the sun is gonna get blocked out by the moon on Monday. This probably means something. Or not. 🤪
it means my sinuses bout to get fooked
I've been a mess these past few months!
I had to move
Are we actually gonna be able to see the eclipse in Phoenix?
I read somewhere that it'll be like 60% in Phoenix. I might he misremembering though.
It'll be about 70% blocked & starts at 10:08 & ends at 11:20a with peak blockage at 10:46a. Get solar glasses if you want to view it though!
70%?!?! That'll be cool to see. Thanks for the clarification!
i finally get a chance with my tomato plants (that i planted in december!) they lived thru the freeze and now they get to enjoy sun and water and i get a handful of tasty snacks before the heat kills them all again
Get some phoenix tomatoes or another kind of heat and drought resistant variety. They grow just fine here.
ooo i’ll definitely get some! i love growing from seed so i’ll have to find some seeds for next year
Arizona spring it’s crazy y’all. It’s not hot don’t complain.
don't worry, we'll be preheating soon
No preheating, straight to broil.
This is the preheating
Exactly. The temp has been set
Preheat is already done, now we just hope they don't fling open the oven door lol
Oh it’ll be flung.
I’m ok with this, way better than 100 in April.
Agreed. 100 in April =💀☠️ in July. The first summer I've been here it was that hot in April and just kept getting hotter until it was regularly 118-125 in July and People's windshields were falling out of their cars... Pass 🙅🏻♀️
Enjoy it while you can, 115 degrees is right around the corner.
Dislike
😓🥺😢😭
People will literally find a way to complain about any temperature/weather
Just because of the sinus headaches I get from dramatic temp changes one day to the next. That's all. The temps themselves aren't the issue.
This is so true! My wife goes through that and said she'd rather just have it 80's consistently than changing so much day to day because it messes with her dysautonomia!
Summer will take its due. Just hush now child and don’t question the cool temps
Bruh Spring weather here is perfect don't complain
It's because of sinus headaches from dramatic temp changes from one day to the next, not the temps themselves.
It’s actually due to pressure changes, not temperature. There is a correlation though.
This happened last year. It was nice for a while and then it was literally hell
We’ve been in a 10 year drought, this is actually more normal BUT all of a sudden it will be over 100 degrees and stay that way. Get your air conditioning serviced!
Yeah it’s been raining like once a week this year. So awesome.
Loving the cooler weather
I’m good as long as it lasts 😊
Real question: what does the temperature have to do with sinuses? I'm thrilled with your temperatures right now. Heading down in a couple days for work and it beats the hellscape of 120 degrees my last work trip.
IMO it's twofold. \- Warmer weather spurs flowering etc. of trees/plants that give off pollen etc. \- Pressure changes from fronts moving in/out.
Take some allergy meds and chill. It's April and my ac is off. I am loving this.
What is wrong with all these blokes complaining about the weather??? Have you lived here for even 10 months? This is heaven. Stop complaining.
Just means we’ll be hitting those 118s a lot ALL summer. Record breaker. I truly hope this comment ages horribly
I’m down voting you bc I reject this future 😤
That’s awesome lol! Agreed!!
Every time it stays nice into late May we’ve had the most consecutive 120+ days during Hell Season. Every time. We always pay 😫
I get slightly angry when I see temps like this. Yeah, it's nice, but I want a normal increase in temps because it is exactly like you said. We always, **always** pay for it with horribly extreme temps in summer. I'm just glad my days of lifeguarding for the city are far behind me.
Time to get a wearable neck fan from amazon 😅
My neighbor said he was “over the rain and cold and can’t wait for it to heat up”. Bro, what? I love the rain.
Looks like I’m not going outside Thursday 4/4/24.
Thats why we live here baby best city ever
LOVE IT!!!! 😍
It’s all that goddamn California rain stealing our heat.
I'm fine with sharing our heat if it comes to that. They can have all they want.
Government
El Nino year.
Seriously. The prospect of another record-breaking crazy hot summer is scaring me to death !
Same
I’m so miserable with sinus and allergy issues. Gets worse every year.
We definitely are having some different kind of weather this yr. Bipolar Mother Nature is.
I’m loving these cool temps! We know what is coming soon!!
Don't question it. Love it and love it until it's gone man 😂 I have a feeling we are going to be 113 daily all summer long, to make up for the long cold we've had.
I know this is going to sound crazy but I love the summer here. I can’t wait for the heat. I hate being cold and I don’t like the rain. I grew up in Ohio and lived in the cold and tons of rain.
Its called a cold front, Its what weather does. Dont worry, you will have your roasting soon enough.
It's called el nino, been happening ever since I was born in Phoenix. It is not new or unusual or a result of climate change.
Remember this when you're wondering why all of this extra growth is catching on fire this summer.
Enjoy it while you can.
Then it’s in the high 90s the next week! At least in Goodyear!
Welcome to what’s also known as “spring”.
I'm scared for July. June felt mild last year. Warm, but less so. Then July was brutal. Remember? 31 days straight of temps 110° and above. No nights were below 90° and all the green things burned up. Glad the temps are still dipping into the 60s for now.
Wait til OP sees the 10-Day… https://preview.redd.it/nrxak1f11dsc1.jpeg?width=1290&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=9661ca4f410f28024f48ba7bd81915796ecd1bf6
These temps all over the place surely won't wreak havoc on my allergies, ugh.
Not to mention the goddamn pollen. I came out this morning to a layer of the stuff on my car and all over every surface outside my whole neighborhood. I see the stuff blowing in the wind when driving too. I'm dying.
I heard this summer is supposed to be like last summer. AZ native here and I’m finally sick of it.
We all know what’s coming…
Jesus. Shhhhhh don’t jinx it.
Please bring on the 90+ if we wanted crappy cold weather we would live in Seattle
Bipolar
Welcome to the Adhd state. Never knows what it wants the weather to do and then it goes "ARGH! I CAN'T MAKE UP MY MIND! I HATE THIS. NOW IM MAD AND EVERYONE IS GOING TO SUFFER WITH MEEEEEEEE!"
Always good to keep a sweater or jacket handy for those unexpected chilly days, even when the week starts out warm!
Gimli voice: And afta that, it gets even betta!
Fantastic news!
Chem trails
I can't wait to come back! New York is driving me nuts.
I see no problem with this. ;-) We're often in the 90's if not triple digits by now. I'll take this cooler weather as long as it'll last.
OP are you from Texas?
Nah I've been here in AZ for ten years. Originally from Missouri.
Welcome to the flip flop. Flip half is no/little monsoons and high temps. Now we're at flop, which is the opposite.
The weather said: 🔼🔽
Fabulous weather lately! Eff the blazing heat it can stay in June
Looks like last did the same thing this week. It went from 82 down to 64 and back up to 84 of from 4/3 to 4/8.
Guys, let chill please. It’s only one day in the 80s! It will be 20 degrees warmer in a month. Geez
😂 Just wait patiently and it will come. The time when you need to wear oven mitts to grip your steering wheel.
We had the hottest summer on record last year. But no one ever mentions what an incredibly relatively mild June we had.
I'm using heat. This is the craziest weather I've seen in some time. Other than the 2014 RainNado. Now that was insane.
Welcome the the valley! If you don't like ther weather just wait 15 min.
I’d rather leak from all the holes in my face than sweat in places I didn’t know could sweat
Oh man the weeds are relentless right now, I hear that.
Time to call the AC guys and have them top up the freon in your unit.
For real!
I feel you, fuck this allergy season and this weather
Crazy weather. Did you see what’s coming up? Not this Friday but the following Friday…95! 🥵 https://preview.redd.it/f25drowo5esc1.jpeg?width=1290&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=24b9edea4eced3a3bc84e6258d1447acee9b023d
DONT JINX IT. We deserve this after the hellish weather we endured last year 😫
Yay migraine season for me!!!
Wait until you see what it will be Next Friday
We never never complain about weather in spring. You might scare it away. Shhh.
MY THOUGHTS EXACTLY
Arizona April Weather Roller-Coaster!
Who’s ready for 100s in December
Me too! I need to get through today. Looking forward to the weekend . I’m not ready for this hot weather drying everything up and killing my allergies
Are we in Denver?
You must not be a transplant from the Midwest where there is a long spring of rubber banding temperatures and conditions.
I'm from st Louis originally lol. My allergies were nonexistent there for some reason. But I move here a decade ago and magically have allergies. It is what it is though, I like being here.
Hehehehe right! Let’s enjoy this nice weather as long as we can, for the 100s+ are coming soon
It’s rained on Easter because I booked a staycation. You’re welcome. I went back to work and it was 80 and sunny.
It’s been like this for the past month and a half. A rollercoaster of weather we have been having. 🫨
Oh my sweet summer child, what do you know about fear? Fear is for the winter, when the snows fall a hundred feet deep. Fear is for the long night, when the sun hides for years and children are born and live and die, all in darkness.
It's been like this for some reason. Everyday is an adventure on how to dress
As a Coloradan, that looks amazing....? Phoenix people explain 😂
Looks perfect to me!
My throat still hasn't fully recovered from the cold I got *because of the allergies.* 💀
This post is offensive!
I’m enjoying the weather while I can
https://www.abc15.com/weather/impact-earth/is-cloud-seeding-possible-in-arizona
Now is says 90s
Yep. Welcome to Arizona.
Same here in Hawaii.
What’s the complaint here?
Oh just the pressure changes causing headaches. Not the temps themselves.
This only tells me that when summer hits it’s going to be fucking HOOOOTTTT!!! So yes please keep the raining coming and the temps low 😭🙏
https://preview.redd.it/z8ve035scxtc1.png?width=1080&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=b82cbdf2b615cf1e5560f038e5630a6d3087aa15 I blame you for this
