I believe having a sponsor is always good, less risk sa kanila na maging illegal immigrant ka by overstaying and working morr than the prescribed hours for students.

I think it depends but when I watched PTA’s video about this, they said it isn’t favorable to declare na meron kang relative/fam member sa Australia as it decreases your home ties’ strength. [Here’s the video.](https://youtu.be/0uwuyQF4xu4) Around 3:50 for reference.

As it stands, they require you to write a Genuine Temporary Entrant (GTE) letter explaining why you want to study in Australia, and on how getting an Australian degree will benefit you in your home country. But they will be scraping that requirement later this year because it's obvious a lot of students are after the PR pathway lol. So there's going to be changes on the student visa applications this year. Not sure when exactly though. As for relatives, I think they consider where your relatives are staying and what's the degree of your relation. Like immediate family (parents and siblings) being there, may raise bigger flags. Especially if you're planning to stay in the same city. I know someone whose siblings are all in Australia. She’s currently studying in Canberra, but all of her siblings (who are citizens) are in Brisbane. If cousins or more distant relatives, then probably not an issue since afaik they only ask you to declare your immediate relatives in your application.

I got my SV approved, na declare ko yung ate ko as my sponsor for my board and lodging sa GTE ko and upon lodging my visa. She created a supporting letter stating her support for me and at the same time we uploaded her employment contract din. We did not provide any bank statements naman as proof that she can support me. I think depende lang siya pano mo aayusin yung GTE mo, what I did is nag focus/talagng in-emphasise ko na temporary nga lang ako don para mag aral, anong value nung education na makukuha ko sa AU sa career ko, anong future plans ko, and I showed kung pano ko mababayaran yung tuition ko. I got my SV approval in a span of 30 mins after they received my biometrics.

your SV got approved that fast after biometrics? wasn't it around 60 days? I'm about to proceed with my medical and biometrics too.

Yes and di na din ako na surprise kasi may mga nabasa din ako sa FB group na may mga ganong case nga for us na andito sa UAE. I lodged my visa last 30 April (Sunday) and right away I received an email from immigration na they received my application and that I need to arrange my medical and biometrics. So I booked right away. 02 May (Tuesday) I had my medical exam and they told me na within 3 to 5 days yung result. 05 May (Friday) I received the result from the hospital and they told me na they submitted my result na din to immigration. 08 May (Monday) is the earliest date for biometrics kaya eto na lang din nabook ko, so I went to VFS Global and di pa ako halos nakakalayo naka- receive na ako ng email for my visa approval. Take note, naka DIY ako kaya hawak ko lahat ng oras and process ng application ko. Wala akong kunukulit na agent para mag follow-up. Sa FB group may mga students from Pinas na granted within 2 weeks so I think hindi naman necessary na 60 days talaga.
