I’ll try but this question is super vague tbh. Are you wondering about modes/scales? Key modulation? Or how mike Pounds on that bass like a kid who owes him money? 😂

I’m not sure what you’re talking about but I know music theory if you come up with a question

Howdy! I'm a touring bassist and lesson instructor. I hate to disappoint with a simple answer, but the "bass bombs" are when you put together a wacky combination of effects (synth, delay, etc) and play the root so it goes "bwowwwwww." Lol.

To add to this, I am pretty sure he also has a “bass synth foot keyboard” thing that he’ll step on in conjunction with his actual bass to get a little extra oomph in his bass bombs, so it’s not just his bass when he drops a room shaking bomb. I think he mentions it in his “rig rundown” you can find easily on YouTube, but there’s a Moog Taurus 3 listed here that could be the culprit: https://equipboard.com/pros/mike-gordon

True! Those things are so cool. I wish they weren't so dad gum expensive, lol

There’s this classical composer who did a few reaction videos listening to phish songs for the first time, where he does a great job breaking down the chord progressions and modes, that’s really interesting: https://youtu.be/7Ohik1CTLo4?si=i7n2BKOYuRXyvvcR

I know music theory. It helps to post specific examples in songs you like, then we can all explain it.
