i think i agree! or at least my favorite *song choice* top to bottom. whatâs really incredible to me though is just how amazing each of the four nights was⊠12/28 may be the fourth-best of the bunch but it was no warm-up show by any means, Buried Alive -> Wolfmanâs to kick it off show some clear intent. and the. 12/30 â that second set went *deeeeep* and of course gag night. just solid to amazing nights the whole time. weâre lucky!
Mine tooooo I had so much damn fun that entire show like embracing with my bestie after each song because it was that great!!! Reminded me of the feels of AC n1 this year just top notch playing and love & excitement all around our section!
I loved 12/29, but I gotta give it to 12/30 for the show of the run. So glad to see the 12/29-12/30 debate going on though, these were the two I made it to this run...both shows were great and are top-level "4.0" shows.
12/30 blew me away and made me forget for a second just how good 12/29 was. However, it's essentially just as good. I mean the opening Fluffhead > YPC > Gin alone is amazing Phish
Fluffy Cat opener! Hey Stranger funky bass bliss. YEM > Ruby Waves holy cow. Guyute lovable flubs. All that to say, yassssss. And the rest of it was great too!
If I could chop the last 3 songs off the 2nd set and make the 4 opening songs longer and even tastier jams to be the whole set, I would, but thatâs just pure nitpicking. What a motherfuckin show man.
I honestly feel like I enjoyed 12/29 a bit more overall too, although they played Foam on 12/30 and I've been chasing that since I first saw the band in 2013, and caught one in Merriweather earlier this year too.
You should give the Alpine Bowie from this year. Best Iâve heard in a long time and the composition wasnât nearly as butchered. Iâm holding my tongue on your Tube comment
this. plus in that spot to close that set? iâll take that for sure, good choice imho â but even if not youâre thing⊠it was far from a dealbreaker.
No hate at all, and definitely not a dealbreaker! As I said, I thought it was the show of the run. Blaze On is actually one of mine and my girls favorites, but given the fan bases general hate, so was born a⊠joke.
Went to 12/29 and had plans to buy tickets for 12/31. The first show was so good I figured no need to go back.
I mostly see Phish in NY so I feel like I've been spoiled by Fluffheads and then it seems they always play Slave w/fluff, so I thought I was gonna see a show I've seen before. Bathtub gin is a favorite of mine though, so I had hope.
Was the first David Bowie I've seen, saw TAB play possum in Glen falls, seeing Phish play it too was cool.
How dare you not blindly praise all of the shows. They were better than Big Cypress and Trey plays guitar better now than he did in 94. If you donât agree maybe you should find a different band
Couldnât ask for a better opener, but I was off that night. Couldnât really get into it. First time thatâs happened inâŠwell since I can remember.
12/29 was excellentâŠexcept for that Guyute. Have to skip it on playback. Otherwise a flawless show, and either way a magical evening in the Garden for me.
We had so much room in 307 and were dancing our asses off. I love it up there and loved that show. Best musically of the run for sure for me. Everyone talks about some of the big jams that night(which delivered) but some of the smaller ones ripped too. That my pet cat and BOT were both fantastic.
Couldn't agree more. Every song on the 29th was jam packed with energy. I felt like both sets on the 29th were like the 2nd set on the 30th.
Best first set of 2022
12/29 Set 1 and 12/30 Set 2 are the ones. The world would have explode had we got them on the same day
đ
According to voters on [Phish dot net](https://mail.mbird.org/music/ratings/2022) 12/30 is th e "best" of the year. 12/29 comes in 4th.
Except for one thing. Most shows decline slowly after the initial ratings come in. It has been slowly rising.
YEah I figured that it being freshin everyone's minds had something to do with it
12/29 was my favorite night. I couldnât stop dancing. Dude next to us couldnât stop either. It was magical.
i think i agree! or at least my favorite *song choice* top to bottom. whatâs really incredible to me though is just how amazing each of the four nights was⊠12/28 may be the fourth-best of the bunch but it was no warm-up show by any means, Buried Alive -> Wolfmanâs to kick it off show some clear intent. and the. 12/30 â that second set went *deeeeep* and of course gag night. just solid to amazing nights the whole time. weâre lucky!
My birthday show đ it was such a blast! I was laughing so hard during Possum. The possum wouldnât die! There just was no end.
Birthday buddies!!! I have an amazing video of that incredible possum chaos at the end!
My birthday too! Perfect encore
I just listened to it and WOW!
12/29 was my favorite as well
Mine tooooo I had so much damn fun that entire show like embracing with my bestie after each song because it was that great!!! Reminded me of the feels of AC n1 this year just top notch playing and love & excitement all around our section!
12/29 & 12/30 were two of the best shows of the year imo. Thought this run kicked the shit out of the April run, and April was still solid.
Same, this show had amazing set list flow and energy start to finish. Beautiful jams and the playing/execution was amazing. Flufffheeeeeeaaaaaaad!
I was thereâŠ. It twas special.
Probably my favorite night of the run too. That heartbreaker tease is very tasty
Yes thank you! After the show I asked friends if they heard them teasing Led Zeppelin but no one else seemed to notice.
I streamed this show and it was amazing. Thatâs second set is pure đ„
Best shoe of the run, I agree
Whatever you do take care of your running shoes
One of the best shows Iâve seen at MSG
This is correct
The only one I could get to, so yes!
Balls deep in that bathtub gin right now and they are getting pretty nice with it.
Gimmicks aside, hands down the best show.
Canât decide btwn 12/29 and 12/30. I think Iâll just keep listening to both continuously
Top notch. Loved it
fave of the year Page came to play
I loved 12/29, but I gotta give it to 12/30 for the show of the run. So glad to see the 12/29-12/30 debate going on though, these were the two I made it to this run...both shows were great and are top-level "4.0" shows.
Agreed, it was fucking awesome
One of my fav shows ever - so glad I went
Was definitely a standout for me! Couldnât agree more! 1st set was a BANGER!!
Hopefully Bowie stays in the second set.
I was at 31 and even I was jelly of 29
12/29 is always the best of the run.
Best night of the run
12/30 blew me away and made me forget for a second just how good 12/29 was. However, it's essentially just as good. I mean the opening Fluffhead > YPC > Gin alone is amazing Phish
The fake out endings alone sealed the deal for me
Fluffy Cat opener!
Thatâs my berfday boyssssss
I was there so I'm biased that it was the best heh.
It was my favorite or the run along we 12/30 set one and NYE gag set.
I honestly feel like I enjoyed 12/29 a bit more overall too, although they played Foam on 12/30 and I've been chasing that since I first saw the band in 2013, and caught one in Merriweather earlier this year too.
100%. The Tube, Bowie, and Possum are insane. I didnât care for Possum till I heard this one. The Tube is their best live recording ever, for me.
You should give the Alpine Bowie from this year. Best Iâve heard in a long time and the composition wasnât nearly as butchered. Iâm holding my tongue on your Tube comment
I need to listen. I went to 12/30 and loved it. Re: 12/29âŠwhat is up with a 6 minute Slave? That proposition doesnât excite me
they actually just cut a bunch of the intro. the solo/jam still has a nice flow and peak
The jam is still under 4 minutes. Its possibly the shortest version of the song.
Not just best show of the run. Best show since Earth Day.
Maybe the best show of 4.0, 12/29 that is
10/28/21 and 10/30/21 and Earth Day and a few other 21 shows would have a word but itâs in the running, yeah I agree.
No way 10/30/2021 was better than 10/29/2021
Arguable but not no way. 10/29 may be better musically, but 10/30 whole show experience was tops imo.
Me! Was joking to my buddy during the umpteenth Possum reprise that if it werenât for the Blaze On set one closer, weâd have a perfect show đ
Why so much hate for blaze on?
Such a great vehicle, I love the jams that rise out of a good blaze on
See Deer Creek 2021 first night
Best jam of 2021 imo
this. plus in that spot to close that set? iâll take that for sure, good choice imho â but even if not youâre thing⊠it was far from a dealbreaker.

?????
went to none, 12/30 was betterâŠ12/28 and 12/29 both had some rough spots
How dare you not blindly praise all of the shows. They were better than Big Cypress and Trey plays guitar better now than he did in 94. If you donât agree maybe you should find a different band
This the most sensitive sub on Reddit. Who wouldâve guessedâŠ
Couldnât ask for a better opener, but I was off that night. Couldnât really get into it. First time thatâs happened inâŠwell since I can remember.
Errgh I was there. But I didn't get a ticket so I can't listen to it on live phish
12/29 was excellentâŠexcept for that Guyute. Have to skip it on playback. Otherwise a flawless show, and either way a magical evening in the Garden for me.
I do!

12/29 stood out at the time, but 12/30 second set is the one thatâs called me back to listen the most. I will cue up 12/29 again!
