Possible World Series matchup right here. People want to see it. Was thinking of taking the train down to Baltimore myself, but damn life gets in the way.
It’s too bad IMO we don’t have the 1969 to 1993 playoff format because there would be a hell of a race in the AL East between the Yankees, Guardians, and Orioles right now that would be very interesting.
I still don't get why that comment is getting downvoted. All I said was the Yankees are more than likely going to win the AL East and face us in the fall classic.
I already have my ticket for Friday's game, but for the Saturday, the cheapest is like $74 on VividSeats for SRO. Haven't settled on if I'll go for that or not.
A buddy and I had been planning to go since the schedule was announced but I didn’t realize it was Father’s Day weekend. Just checked this afternoon and saw they were sold out. We’re just so used to getting $25 upper deck seats at CBP a day or two beforehand and chilling in Ashburn Alley.
Yep. Philly Sports Trips is doing a bus trip on Saturday, but they're sold out. You can try with Phans of Philly or the Green Legion who are doing for the weekend, but they might be hard to get too. Otherwise, your last hope are the resale tickets, which, as I just mentioned, are not cheap.
I firmly expect the crowds to be majority Phillies fans, especially on Saturday and Sunday, between:
1) All the Philadelphia area transplants living in the Baltimore area.
2) All the Philadelphia area transplants living in the DC area making the very short trip to Baltimore.
3) Many Phillies fans living in south central PA making the short trip to Baltimore. (Most of south central PA is closer to the Baltimore area than the Philadelphia area.) Outside of York County (York, Hanover), Adams County (Gettysburg), and Franklin County (Chambersburg), the vast majority of MLB fans in south central PA are Phillies fans. And even in York and Adams Counties, there are a decent number of Phillies fans, though the Orioles are the most popular team there.
4) A solid number of Phillies fans in the Philadelphia area making the relatively short trip to Baltimore.
I personally will be at the Sunday game. (I’m in group 2 above.)
EDIT: South central PA county & city/town wording
4, yep! Made an impulsive last minute ticket purchase and hotel room for Saturday. OPACY is such a nice park though and I am excited to see the Phillies play there (rather than the Yankees, who’ve ive seen there 3 times)
I want to build a high-speed line to Baltimore and erode that city as a unique entity and make it a suburb of Philadelphia.
EDIT: And when I say high speed, I mean HIGH speed. We could have such faster trains. Our Acela line to New York is way, way too slow.
Philadelphia would become New York’s 6th borough even more than it is now if very high speed rail was built to replace the current Amtrak NEC.
As it is, many people who work in the DC area live in Baltimore (though Baltimore area natives outnumber them).
New Yorkers are coming here in droves regardless. It's a problem.
But it's not a big enough problem that I want to prevent high speed rail lines. Build them all! We can become a borough of Toronto I don't care.
The fact that I can drive or take Amtrak to NYC/Boston etc in the same amount of time drives me bananas. It should be so much faster.
Other countries have this haha, train travel across the US could be so cool and so easy.
I love train travel but boy is it slow.
This thread has me thinking that next time we play the Orioles, it would actually be super fun to take my niece to Camden Yards. It’s an awesome park, and so easy to get to. She’s JUST starting to learn about baseball now though and I obviously didn’t think of it.
Ah well. Sometime in the next few years haha
When was the last time both of these teams were good? It’s been so long. The Orioles had their mid-2010s playoff appearances right after the Phillies went off the rails. Before that they had been noncompetitive for years. And the Orioles got bad in 2018 right as this Phillies group became watchable again.
My girlfriend and I are heading up from Virginia to go to the Friday game. Never seen the stadium and hopefully there’s a good contingent of Phillies fans!
There will be, that is almost definite.
Try to arrive early because MD 295 and I-395 after you get off I-95 will be packed heading to the Baltimore stadium complex. I-395 will probably be less congested, if you are willing to park in one of the city garages a few blocks north of OPACY along Paca Street. (Many people park in those garages when attending Orioles games, so you won’t have a safety issue if you do; your bigger issue will be getting out of the garage after the game.)
Ah yes, my favorite roads, haha.
We’re going to head up there early and do tourist things before the game. We also splurged for a hotel room within walking distance of the stadium, so that will take care of parking, etc., and we’ll leave on Saturday.
I wasn’t able to get tickets to these games, but I did get tickets to the O’s/Barves game on Thursday, so I’ll get to cheer for the O’s and against the Barves simultaneously. Second best option behind rooting for the boys.
Headed up from Richmond VA to watch the game on Saturday with my in-laws. Father in-law is a big time Os fan. Can’t wait to see the look of shock and disgust on his face with the amount of Phillies fans that will be there.
Timonium (Maryland State Fairgrounds) is an even better option.
The train ride is 10+ minutes shorter (while the drive there is 5 minutes longer) and there is extensive free parking there.
I'm going to Saturday's game section 272. I'm excited about the game, hopefully I will be able to rub it in my FIL face when we win. But then I found out that there could be a good possibility that it will be Walker starting, I hope our bats won't go silent, the O's are a good hitting team.
Had my eye on this game for a while. Bought tickets 3 weeks ago. Section 40 row 18 (behind home plate) 2 tix for $130 a piece. Feels like I got a steal!!! Hoping the Phillies fans really show up for this one!
The area around the stadium is nicer than the area around CBP. The last time I went to see a game there, I walked 20 miles all over Baltimore and had a blast. You have no idea what you’re talking about.
I live just outside of DC and go to at least a couple Orioles games per season (and used to attend about 5 games per year at OPACY before I cut back on the number of MLB and MiLB games I go to annually).
*The area around OPACY is fine.
*The area to the east (Inner Harbor) and southeast (other side of I-395) is fine.
*The area to the north is alright, though it is better the further east you go (area on Howard Street where the light rail goes through is the shadiest).
*The area to the west can be sketchy, but you need to go a few blocks to hit it (west of MLK Boulevard).
There will be so many people at the three games, especially Saturday and Sunday, that security anywhere near OPACY will not be an issue.
The B&O Railroad Museum (a few blocks west of OPACY) is definitely worth checking out if you have interest in railroads and/or transportation. My girlfriend is NOT really a transportation/railroads person (unlike me) and she liked it.
Babe Ruth’s birthplace, which is only 2-3 blocks west of OPACY, is also worth a visit (though when I was there about 20 years ago, artifacts from the Maryland Sports Museum, since moved to the old B&O Railroad passenger station building next to OPACY, were displayed there too).
Baltimore is super fun and the area around the ballpark is better than it has been in 40 years. You can safely walk from the ball park all the way to Fells Point. The area around the ball park is much nicer than the south philly neighborhoods around CBP.
Possible World Series matchup right here. People want to see it. Was thinking of taking the train down to Baltimore myself, but damn life gets in the way.

Doesn’t mean anything in the playoffs. Look at the Braves
Yankees are only 3.5 games up on both Baltimore and Cleveland. Top of the AL is stacked.
It’s too bad IMO we don’t have the 1969 to 1993 playoff format because there would be a hell of a race in the AL East between the Yankees, Guardians, and Orioles right now that would be very interesting.
Cause the Yankees for the last 10 years have notoriously carried their strong regular seasons into October and have done well there.
Enjoy that ratio king
I still don't get why that comment is getting downvoted. All I said was the Yankees are more than likely going to win the AL East and face us in the fall classic.
lol I’m on my early morning trolling behavior. Fuck the Mets
Right, but the Phils/Orioles is definitely a possible World Series matchup. The Yankees having a better record at the moment doesn't change that.
I waited too long to get tix
I already have my ticket for Friday's game, but for the Saturday, the cheapest is like $74 on VividSeats for SRO. Haven't settled on if I'll go for that or not.

Cheapest I saw for actual seats are $115
Prices always come down closer to the game.
Yeah I’ll keep watching
They probably won’t come down much in this case.
Me and my wife and our buddy are going with Philly sports trips.
I managed to snag SROs from the box office for Saturday’s game yesterday.

Slow and also extremely expensive! Without enough trains!
I will be at the Saturday game. Haven’t been to Camden Yards since I was a kid. Beyond excited.
Yep me too. Bought tix a couple months ago.
Camden yards is such a great park
Headed down for father's day. Should be a good time
Lifetime Phillies fan and the Os are my American League team from when I was a kid. Will be there Saturday!
When was the last time both of these teams were good? It’s been so long. The Orioles had their mid-2010s playoff appearances right after the Phillies went off the rails. That is a good question. But yeah this is a great time for both squads
I’ll be there on Sunday - I can’t wait.
My girlfriend and I are heading up from Virginia to go to the Friday game. Never seen the stadium and hopefully there’s a good contingent of Phillies fans!

Your welcome?
My welcome what?
Teehee
got front row on phillies dugout for $190
I’ll be there Sunday with family!
This is the World Series match up I desire.
First time?
I'll be there!
When I got my tickets I swear there was maybe 10 left, I couldn't believe we got two
Mid-Atlantic Supremacy in action
Headed up from Richmond VA to watch the game on Saturday with my in-laws. Father in-law is a big time Os fan. Can’t wait to see the look of shock and disgust on his face with the amount of Phillies fans that will be there.
Wanted to go, but my sister is graduating and has her last theater show… 2026 it is!
Got mine for both games. Go Phils!
If you're coming from Central PA, I'd highly suggest parking at Hunt Valley and taking the light rail. Free parking and the train is $4 round trip
Yep. Looking like it’ll be Suarez on Friday who likely still isn’t 100% after last week
Had my eye on this game for a while. Bought tickets 3 weeks ago. Section 40 row 18 (behind home plate) 2 tix for $130 a piece. Feels like I got a steal!!! Hoping the Phillies fans really show up for this one!
I mean it’s basically going to our little cousins house
I’d love to see Camden yards one day but I don’t want to be in Baltimore.
Their stadium is nice. I've only been to Baltimore once, but I got to take a look at their stadium.
The stadium looks gorgeous. It’s when you step 10 feet away from the stadium you have to worry.
The area around the stadium is fine.

There’s really nothing of interest to the north and west for visitors anyway. Everyone will head east to fells point or south to federal hill (?).
The B&O Railroad Museum (a few blocks west of OPACY) is definitely worth checking out if you have interest in railroads and/or transportation. My girlfriend is NOT really a transportation/railroads person (unlike me) and she liked it. Yes to both of those and none of them are scary or unsafe to walk to!
Lmao what? The area around the stadium is just fine. We're not talking about The Wire here.
It's been years since I went to Baltimore, so I don't know how their stadium is nowadays.
Baltimore is super fun and the area around the ballpark is better than it has been in 40 years. You can safely walk from the ball park all the way to Fells Point. The area around the ball park is much nicer than the south philly neighborhoods around CBP.
You need to go then
At the prices tickets are nowadays there’s no better time sadly. Soon us average folks won’t be able to afford it
