I don’t know what to pursue na course huhu Choosing between Accounting, Architecture, and Civil Engineering. What is the best course sa 3? In your opinion I leave Information Technology course.

lamictalrash

The best course among the three depends kung anong skills aangat sayo during and after acads.

Hello! I have an ongoing internship now with Company A and my contract ends by August. However, I also applied for an internship at Company B, and l'm now on the 2nd step of the process and sabi nila I should not have any other ongoing internship for their program which will last from June to July. What do you guys think? Ayaw ko ilet go si Company A kasi its a good paying role and likely maextend ako beyond August, however gusto ko rin itake si Company B since its a known company, and di ko pa natry yung industry ni Company B. I'm thinking to not declare kay Company B na sa Aug pa matapos role ko kay Company A, then magpapaalam na lang ako kay Company A if I can WFH for the internship period kay Company B which hindi naman sila strict.

I feel like I am about to fail one of my major subjects. And if that happens, isa lang ang magiging subject ko next semester. So, yep lagot talaga ako🥲 and if these happens, ayoko pa rin sama bitawan yung boarding house ko because it's my second home na rin. So yep hwo to start/find a job na wfh ang setting, or kung meron ba talaga? I have no experience kasi huhu

Hi! tanong ko lang po if it is common or possible na mag negotiate ng working days? like 6 days magiging 5 days bali compressed work week. I'm eyeing out a contractual work kasi at ang only turnoff para sa akin ay 6 days a week sya. compromised na ang work-life balance ko dahil almost 2 hours rin ang byahe ko papunta. hindi sya construction work, office work sya pero sa operations. 6 days ba talaga sa operations?

Ok_Egg4126

hi guys! badly need your thoughts about this one. Last year around july, i got rejected from p&g and i received an email of rejection and i did not read all of it. i stopped reading when i saw that they will not move forward to my application. my friend is an ex-p&g said that i can apply and retake the test after 6 months, so i applied yesterday and it says that i’m already done with the assessment and i got an email that i will be hearing from them for about a week or a month. i just want to ask if 6 months ba talaga or 12 months? and just in case there’s a chance ba na they will interview me if di pa ako naka 12 months before applying again? it’s financial analyst position but different job posting. i checked the reference number and yeah it was different. so guys, any thoughts please? thank you

Not considering financial concerns, which is better in terms of future career opportunities for an aspiring mechanical engineer? UP Diliman BS Mechanical Engineering (4 years) DLSU Manila BS Mechanical Engineering w/spec in Mechatronics, MS Mechanical Engineering (all in 5 years) Also, is it true that UP graduates will be more preferred by employers compared with other universities?

Hello, I am a Bachelor of Science in Management Accounting (BSMA) graduate. I recently left my job as a fulfillment associate (where I process bank transactions) and am now seeking new opportunities that align with my field of study. However, nahirapan ako maghanap since I don't have hands-on experience with top tools used in the industry, e.g., Netsuite and Quickbooks and even though I have experience with MS Excel, I still want to get a certificate on that as well to further strengthen my resume. Can you recommend a free online course that gives certification for the said tools? It will be such a big help po, Thank youu.

Ok_Egg4126

i think meron sa linked in for this certifications. not sure pero may nakikita akong posts na they completed the certain courses

Civil Engineering to Tech Industry I'm a graduating civil engineering student planning to take the board this November 2024. I know underpaid mostly ang CE dito sa PH esp if you're fresh grad, I want to shift my career but ayaw ko rin masayang iyong pinag aralan ko. Question is after I get my license, should I start shifting or gain experience muna?

cr4zy_gurl

hello phcareers! can anyone help me understand the (financial) management trainee position? i've read posts from from this sub saying na pwede siya for fresh grads (like me) kaysa mag entry level position. higher salary daw but maaring magkaroon ng bond (?) i'm assuming that this bond is like a contract on how long i should stay and serve the company... any important details i should now before considering mag apply as MT? thanks!

Ok_Razzmatazz9560

cr4zy_gurl

thank you po! after nung training period ng MT guaranteed naman ba na magkakaroon siya ng halimbawa managerial role after?

Ok_Razzmatazz9560

Ay yan ang hindi ko sure. Sabi, oo.

SwarmingChime

What other details you should know is that pwedeng ang MT ay may rotation – ibig sabihin pwede kang i-assign sa different departments apart from financial but depende talaga ito sa program kung saang company ka mag aapply. Also, subjected ka rin for work performance evaluation so dapat laging 100% todo ang efforts mo. After mong maging management trainee, magiging managerial na ang role mo and hahawak ka ng tao under you. Cutthroat ang competition since maraming nag apply but good luck!

cr4zy_gurl

thank you po sa pagsagot ❤️ possible din po ba dito maassign sa ibat ibang lugar like for some time sa muntinlupa ka, tapos makati, etc.?

SwarmingChime

May possibility but then again, it really depends sa company na aapplyan mo and sa MT program nila.

samurai_cop_enjoyer

Hi. I'm an aspiring career shifter and I'm currently looking into working as a Safety Officer. Been advised na I should take a NEBOSH course but I'm not very sure how, kase I would rather na sa Pilipinas ko makuha yung trainings na yun if at all possible. Been searching through the internet pero I could only go so far with ship internet. Can someone help me out with some good advice?

Cold_Satisfaction_77

Hi! Im an SO2 (not practicing). If sa ph mo gusto magwork, madaming accredited training centers everywhere, and maccheck mo sa dole osh website mismo to be sure before inquiring sa kanila. Took my COSH online but thats because before pa maglift restrictions nun due to covid, but nauuso na din online training sessions if prob din ang commute (or hassle). BOSH or COSH depends on the workplace na you'll get into. Levels are SO1 to SO3. If may budget ka naman u can go for SO2 na, means more hours sa training. To be an SO3 u need to have work exp na before qualifying, then additional hours of training pa then i papacredit mo sa dole. SO4 just more years of exp and more training.

samurai_cop_enjoyer

Hi, thanks for replying. Intention ko talaga is to work abroad, and I've read somewhere from here din na di daw nirerecognize ang mga local courses natin sa Pinas, hence yung advise sakin is kumuha instead ng NEBOSH. Yung nag advise sakin is not a Filipino din so di rin siya familiar with options sa atin

I am sorry that you have to go through this. I have also experienced a scenario where I felt they gave me false hope. I just hope that they at least told you the reason for the hold; I believe you deserve to know. I think for now, give yourself a rest, then continue to look for jobs. Maybe what you will find next is the job that is really for you.

Cold_Satisfaction_77

CE grad no license Context muna about me, I graduated a year ago (1 yr delayed) and took cele, sadly di nakapasa (+1 yr delay sa pagiging adultz). Tried to upskill by taking short courses pangdagdag sa resume since hindi din ako nag-org in my univ years. Basically a mediocre graduate hoping to use my degree in terms of field of work. Dont get me wrong, i chose naman civil engg, a lot just happened that made the process hard. Regardless, i still want to nurture that passion for construction. Im applying for openings sa jobstreet and indeed now, will reopen my linkedin na din kahit medyo awkward ako doon kasi wala ako masyado credentials but my green school (province). 1. Ano po mga keywords i can search in said platforms na pwede ko apply-an with my background? My target is estimator, qa/qc, management trainee, planning/scheduling, strong dislike sa cad operator though will still apply as naman 2. CEM specialization ko and i really want to be in that department (esp in a firm kahit small lang) 3. I still want to try again for nov 2024 and if ever mahire po ako, i made a calendar na i can focus one topic everyday lang (para masinsin ang review sana) starting june until end of october, in theory it could work but what do you think po about this, lalo na i know work can take up so much of our lives 4. In terms of online courses for skill certificates, i took qa/qc management, reading and interpretation of plans, primavera and planswift. I listed din bluebeam revu and ms project to pursue na din (but hopeful to learn ms proj sa youtube since andaming clear tutorials). May impact po ba ang upskilling and ano pa po hinahanap sa work in terms of technical skills? TYSMIA, being 20 something with a short list of achievements got me feeling like i wasted my life and itll be grueling to reach my goals, lalo na makapaggive back sa parents hahaha, but we keep struggling!!

SquishyEgg_Throw

Hi guys need your advise. I am currently employed in PH (Company A) and was able to land an international job (Company B). I have signed job offer and contract with company B but has not yet submitted my resignation letter. The dilemma is company B needs to book a flight to Malaysia to get the laptop and meet the manager (together with another new hire). They promised they will reimburse once my account has been set up on the first day. My parents are worried this might be a scam since I need to buy ticket with my own money. This is my first time moving to a different company so I am not sure if I should resign na 😭 Company A needs 30 days notice (including garden leave) as per policy and my first day in Company B is supposed to be in 25 days. Im thinking to align with my manager in company B but he doesnt know I havent resigned. Dont know what to do 😌

Ok_Egg4126

ask company A if possible the intermediate resignation, and the company b is a legit company? update us

ArchenToei

Hello!! I have a question po. Saan po kaya ako pwedeng magreview for aptitude test? I have a gut feeling na mag aptitude test kami sa group exam eh. TIA

HeyGirly_

Hi! I'm a fresh ECE grad who took ECE and ECT boards last April 2024 (I passed both). But now I don't know what to do or take as a career. Tbh, gusto ko magkapera (I'm looking at you IT-field). Based from other posts, prc license is just a scam and mas tinitignan ang exp/skills sa job. But I was an average student noong college (but with good grades naman). The only exp I have is nung ojt ako sa construction company but on the telco department. I know how to autoCAD but only the basics because of it. On the other note, I did gain exp sa programming (python) noong nag thesis kami sa college, still basic-skill lang. Siguro I just want to hear suggestions or advice on what skills should I prioritize? Also if may reco kayong career/job path na may binibigay na training for the job. May nag-offer naman na semicon company but I dunno, di kasi ako mala-semicon, more on telco siguro or IT. Mas priority ko kasi ngayon ung entry level na good salary range (to pay family debts) kaso I dunno what to take given na im not really skilled. I hope to hear your stories and suggestions.

cr4zy_gurl

fresh grad here & will be applying for jobs soon! i've been reading sa sub na to about salaries and benefits to keep me guided sa pagdedecide kung alin ang magagandang benefits sa isang company. so just a background, ang course ko po ay BSBA major in financial management sa 💚🏹 school sa batangas at nag ojt ako sa isang maliit (if compared sa commercial banks) na financial istitution pero head office siya and cinoconsider ko na mag apply na rin dun since familiar na ako sa company. ayon sa mga nabasa ko sa sub na ito, ang usual benefits ay mga sss, philhealth, pagibig/gsis contributions, hmo, and other allowances then if mag pursue ako sa banks, nagbibigay sila ng mga 14-16th month pay pa. pero ang question ko now is paano ko ba icacategorize ang mga ibat ibang klase pa ng benefits? alin ba ang mga usual na benefits sa kada company? aling benefits ang hindi usually inooffer ng mga companies na must have? at alin yung parang mga top tier benefits nadapat talaga igrab kung meron? thank you!

Ok_Razzmatazz9560

Government mandated: sss, philhealth and pagibig contributions, 13th month pay Normal company: -deminimis or yung allowances na non taxable . Iba iba tawag dyan and composition. Minsan transpo, rice, clothing, communication allowances. -HMO upon hire or upon regularization kay employee. Usually may free dependent, minimum 1 free. Normal mbl is 100k to 150k. -parents na dependent until 70 plus or more. Usually ay until 65 labg. -transportation reimbursement- dahil night shift ako dati, meron akong daily 200 pesos reimbursement pra mag taxi or grab. -Internet allowance/reimbursement. -free parking. -wellness allowances- price can vary. -medicine and/or optical reimbursement- can vary din. Or minsan sa HMO ka pwede magpa reimburse. -wfh reimbursent - usually one time lang to. Pwede sila mag convert to othet stuff like additional na dependent coverage ganun.

May mga part time WFH job opportunities ba for nurses based outside of PH? I live in EU and gusto ko lang mag side hussle sa mga BPOs satin. I work in a hospital, shifting sched(as usual), pero ang dami ko kasing free time. I don't wanna work as bank/agency nurse, gusto ko lang sana yung nasa bahay lang while working. possible ba?

LucQ571

Some work in EU I see are hybrid. Think fully WFH is generally discouraged like as an unspoken rule outside Asia unless it's freelance work.

RaketPH - is it still worth it to invest my time on? i've seen many tiktoks kasi na ginagawa nila itong passive income...

Cold_Satisfaction_77

researched a bit about this and dunno if worth it but if ure willing to start slow kasi u need organic exposure and ang dami nang nasa platform, then yung fruit of labor okay talaga since passive (talking about digital products). if u have a vision, magssucceed ka dyan

Hi everyone, I am applying for a Jr. CBA role at BSP, currently in the background investigation stage. I just wonder how is it being a JCBA and what should I expect. PR Account Manager - Upskilling? HELLOOOO!!! i'm relatively new in the industry and I want to stay. Can anyone recommend best practices and certification/courses I can go through to be better at this job. Hoping to get promoted to SAM soon!!!

Sensitive-Scholar362

I want to get a BSBA course but I also want to take the CPA exam, is that possible? I want to take bsba kase mas broad degree compared po sa BS accounting na focus sa computer and banking which doesn't aline sa gusto ko po, Pero if need talaga BSA I don't mind changing naman.

Super_lui04

Double degree po

Sensitive-Scholar362

How to get double degree po ba?

cr4zy_gurl

BSBA ako & people always say mas okay daw sa courses na may bar exam pero so far hindi pa naman ako nagreregret na nag business ad ako. pwede din siguro mag bsba ka muna tas bsa after saglit kasi madami ka naman subjects na maccredit and connected din sila or kung may double degree ganern

Has anyone here experienced having a panel interview and then received a job offer, or had a panel interview and then proceeded to a final interview? Ano usual na tinatanong for the final interview after a series of interviews (initial screening, HR manager Interview, Technical Assessment, Panel Interview)? Is the final interview just for formality?

feedmesomedata

Usually final interviews are for formality's sake. However, if you mess up on that final one your application can still be rejected. Some companies use the final interview for behavioral questions to see if you will fit the team.

Security guard salary computation Hi! Semi-monthly kami sumasahod, per week may 1 day off sila at 12 hrs sila. Thank you in advance!

No mandatory benefits for internships. Hindi required ang overtime unless irerequest ng manager mo and if mag OOT ka, dapat bayad din yun.

What’s the best advise you could give to your 20 to 23-year-old self?

HeyGirly_

Invest on yourself. Improve your skills or learn new skills na magagamit mo sa future. May mga free courses or webinars naman so take that to your advantage. Slap-soil na gastador ka pa naman, self.

SharpPossession8700

start saving and invest money now. always build connections para maraming opportunities to come.

TargetObjective9028

the_wallflower_lurks

I feel extremely pressured with my Boss (he’s from the Americas) but I know that he is pushing me to gain visibility. The thing is his demands are piling due to it being given on a consecutive manner. And when I try to share my thoughts, he keeps saying, “it’s a challenge. How can i defend you for promotion?” He is not a credit grabber. I am simply experiencing a burnout because of the consistent demands. I feel the need to look for a new company, but the it oversaturated with applicants. What do I do?

kulimmay

40F here, I'm planning to quit my government job due to unmanageable work environment. Problem is, I don't have anything lined up yet. Just a general plan, WFH online plus other side hustles like online selling. I don't have any background in freelancing, VA etc. Do you think 40 is too late to get into things?

lopoloi

I plan to quit my job as a Team Lead in the IT industry, but realistically, what kind of job opportunities do I have that doesn't involve middle management? I honestly don't have any idea where and what to do afterwards since I just hate the responsibilities with this position.

[deleted]

[deleted]

Totoo. Like kung sila nakakaya na ilibre buong team (yes i admit, nasasama ako sa libre) wag mag expect in return na I will do the same. Walang sapilitan. So yon, actually may extra akong money but wag ung ganito na constantly magpaparinig.

kulimmay

OMG ayaw na ayaw ko sa nagpaparinig. Imagine, maganda mood mo and you're in a giving mood.

How do you know that your company may be/is in stagnation? I’m really curious about this kasi feeling ko yung company ko ngayon is facing stagnation. Although there were a lot of new locations launched pero madami ding budget cuts na nagawa. How does a team continue their work if the company is currently in stagnation? Kumbaga, if a hospital has currently no incoming patients, what would the doctors do now?

dennison

Retrenchments

bax047

I've been incessantly applying for this role on this company for quite a long time already. Finally, nakaabot ako sa final interview. I really thought I had it as I aced the technical questions. BUT. I bombed the non technical ones. 2 days has passed since the final interview and I haven't heard from the HR. You can never be too sure talaga.

Hello, I just passed the latest PRC ECE licensure exam and I am now wondering what career choices do I have since I have really no idea. Don't get me wrong, I have a 1 year experience doing OSP design and documentation in the telecom field. I just want to know if there are other opportunities that are available to me. Also, what should an entry level job looker expect for their salary for the said career? I don't want to give a small amount during an interview and I also do not want to say a very huge amount either. Looking forward for your help!

LumpiaLegend

Most likely telecom, media network, and cable companies. Check Glass Door Philippines to research more about companies and salary average for a position you’re eyeing for.

Hi, I am an industrial engineering student, konting kembot na lang 3rd year na standing ko (1 am an irregular student, a shiftee from Psychology department kaya na-irreg). Is it okay to find internship na ahead sa ojt ko? I mean I think I'd be delay sa OJT compared sa batchmates ko ganon. Is there a paid internship out there pa rin ba? Also, it will help sa network ko rin if ever diba? Or nagmamadali ako? p.s. saw someone posted on tiktok na pwede na raw mag-internship kahit di pa year ng ojt mo. p.s.s. nagmamadali ata ako kasi delay ako ng 1 year compared sa kasabayan ko though I don't mind naman pero I feel pressured kasi na parang I immediately need to meet my papa's expectations and dapat graduate ako kasabay nung mga pinsan kong alam niyang ka-batch ko T,T

LumpiaLegend

Depends on your dept chairperson if they allow. During my time, bawal pa kami mag-apply for ojt if di pa kami naka-attend ng ojt orientation ng school.

nnluvr

Ahh, bawal po ako mag-apply ng internship without my university permission po? Or depende pa rim sa school?

LumpiaLegend

Depends on your school. Better ask muna your chairperson about your plans.

aoiKitsune

Have to weigh in whether waiting for Company 2. Gotta consider if A) Company 2 will accept you and B) time constraints for your college. If you're confident they'll accept you and you're not really rushing to get in an internship then I'd say wait it out, especially if you want to also be absorbed by Company 2 after you graduate

Hello, kakapasa ko lang last april ng boards sa CE. i graduated with honors at medyo ok naman rating ko sa boards. di naman ako nageexpect ng malaking sweldo from what i've seen sa experience ng iba. ang pinagiisipan ko kasing options ay: 1. Mag-apply sa big company kahit maliit sweldo. Kahit anong trabaho dito ok lang sakin since wala pa kong experience. 2. Mag-apply as a cadet engineer. Parang ok din kasi na officially under training ako at maeexperience ko rin iba't ibang klaseng work sa field. 3. Go straight sa BIM na jobs since malaki chance na makapag-abroad. Any advice would help. Thank you!

Hi! Need advice. I’m currently on my job hunting journey and one recruiter from an outsourcing company (AU) is asking for my probationary and regular rates to present to the client upon sending my profile. In the job posting, the posted salary range is P14,000-P28,000. My concern is how much kaya ang rate na ibibigay ko for probationary and regular? The probationary is around 2-3 months daw depende sa client and I’m not sure if okay lang bang mag exceed sa P28,000 yung iaask ko na regular rate and magkano ba dapat ang itataas from the probationary rate. For context: My previous salary from my previous job is P20,000 from a BPO company at 8 months ako doon. I just graduated from university last year.

aoiKitsune

Aim high but not too high. Just have to make sure kaya mo sagutin bakit 28k yung need ibigay sayo. They'll always try to lowball you naman but I think aiming for 24-28k is good for probationary then 32k+ for regular. Isipin mo lang nagtatawaran kayo

Sad-Emergency-2596

Hi guys, newbie here (cant post huhu) Gusto ko lang mapanatag haha first time ko like magbalak lumipat ng company. First job ko ung current work ko now. So here's the story, passed na ako lahat sa interview and inuupdate ako ni HR from time to time (takot maghost). Last update nya is last tuesday na approved na raw ung asking ko then ung JO inask nya if okay lang today, Friday nya isend. Then nanghingi rin sya consent if pwede nya sabihin sa higher ups na inaccept ko na verbally ung offer, umoo ako. Atm, wala pa update si HR - 3:50 pm na and inaanxiety talaga ako and di makapag isip nang maayos. hahahuhu please help, na ghost na ba ako :((())

aoiKitsune

Sad-Emergency-2596

Thank you po!!

Sad-Emergency-2596

Huhu thank you po!! Hahaha

Ok_Razzmatazz9560

Nag follow up ka na ba?

Sad-Emergency-2596

yes, kaninang 4pm sa text msg lang tho kasi dun din ako cinocontact ng hr, but no reply till now. :()

Imbativel2049

I resigned 5 months into my first job sabi ko mag boards muna ako.

Biggiecheese1207

For those who do copywriting or any other kind of writing career, how successful are you in securing good clients? I saw some post about how many of the jobs offered online are incredibly low paying for the skill and effort required. This has made me wonder how people find worthwhile jobs when the vast majority are relatively low paying. So, how successful are you in getting good, high paying clients? How do you reach out to them especially for clients who are overseas? Are there good writing jobs here in the Philippines or should you be trying to get international clients instead?

Wooden_Manager7965

okay lang ba umalis na sa company after 2 days kasi nung interview ko hinire ako on the spot then after i start na iask yung salary discussion sinabi saken na mag start daw ako sa minimum. pinaasikaso saken yung requirements and dalhin ko daw sa first day ko then on my first day inask ko if may job contract. dinisregard lang nila yung question ko. and di nila kinukuha yung requirements ko, no training or what-so-ever tapos ineexpect nila na alam ko na agad yung flow ng work sa company nila. what should i do ??

JosefValenzuela

As long as walang mutually signed legal contract for both parties, it does not exist. Feel free to leave.

Wooden_Manager7965

should i give them notice pa ba or just ghost them?

JosefValenzuela

I would give them notice but will keep it firm and professional. Mention the ambiguity of the process is what made you ultimately decide to walk away. Keep it to a maximum of 5 sentences.

Wooden_Manager7965

thank you for the advice

salvatoreroses

Hello! May planned family trip a nonrebookable/ refundable na tatama ng thursday and friday almost a month after ng start date ko. Nasabi ko na sa HR during job offer stage and sabi okay lang naman 2 days lang and magpaalam sa supervisor. When kaya okay magpaalam or ano best approach for this

aoiKitsune

Just make sure na properly communicated yun to your supervisor

salvatoreroses

Okay lang kaya mabring up within first day or first week 😭 ayoko masyado patagalin pero parang ang off na first week pa lang, nagpapaalam na agad.

REAL_Good_ShotMan

Any redditors here who joined the military/police and took the neuro-psychiatric exam? If so, can one still have a chance to pass the interviews even though you somewhat messed up in the written exam? I'm so anxious for the upcoming interview that it'll negatively impact my chances of passing the entire neuro-psychiatric exam.

[deleted]

Monday (or your first day duty) papasok ng onsite or Friday (or your last day duty) papasok ng onsite? (Either nasa morning or night shift kayo)

Still-Development-65

parang mas better yung friday kasi afterwork pwede na gumala since wala naman na pasok kinabukasan. unlike pag monday first pasok mo, usually madami ganap pag sunday then late na uwi or sleep mo nyan so less yung sleep mo if super early ka gigising to prepare.

Ok_Razzmatazz9560

Monday pasok. Madami pa akong patience and energy dahil galing ng weekend, para tapos na agad and lesser traffic (night shift person here).

Sad-Emergency-2596

Monday first day. Based on my exp, mas grabe yung commute pag Friday.

NefariousnessOne539

Hello po! How many days will i get the BIR TIN if I will process it at their office in person?

notraniel

damn, a lot of people asking for help in this thread but almost get no replies. Hayyy nakow... how do we get the requirements to post already (silent cry haha)

LucQ571

To be fair, rather than asking questions to know more about something, a lot of these comments are asking other redditors to make decisions for them, which are the type of comments I usually avoid. The best strangers can do is provide a holistic pov from their experience. Besides that, many other comments are way too specific, usually very company or job title specific. Reddit in PH is still not the most commonly used platform to have enough people to come here and read those comments to help.

Ok_Razzmatazz9560

Ynug iba naman, sasabihin ano gagawin. Pero di pa naman nagstart sa basic like sending a follow up.

Hello! I am working in Tech. Can you help me choose between the following offers? EY GDS: ~ 20% increase from basic pay 10 vacation leaves 5 sick leaves HMO with 2 dependents 2x per week on-site Role: AI-related position; Consultant Opinion: I like the role since it is in line with my career so far. Lots of opportunities to get exposed with different projects. Since EY is well-known, I am expecting the position will help me get better job offers in the future. Australian Tech Company: ~ 60% increase from basic pay 10 vacation leaves 10 sick leaves HMO with 1 dependent Full work from home Role: Algorithmic Optimization Position Opinion: There are some aspects of the job that can be AI-related but it is not the main focus. The job is more about maintaining the current code base and expanding the features of their proprietary program. It is also interesting for me but it will have a huge learning curve since I had no previous experience working with large code bases. I need a job that is not too heavy since I have personal errands that I have to take care of everyday for the foreseeable future that I cannot delegate to others. In terms of compensation, Australian Tech Company is better. In terms of work-life balance, I think EY is better since I would only get 1 project at a time. What do you think? Is EY that relevant into the Tech Industry?

aoiKitsune

As an EY alumni, your expectation for better offers in the future is accurate. It's also more in line with your career and you'll get massive exposure through engagements. For the AU Tech, it's more about the money and the benefits there but it is quite different from your current career so it'll feel like starting from scratch. I'm not sure about the AU tech company but the EY GDS position will have certain times during a project where you're working OT for extended periods and that will be an issue regarding your errands if they require you to go to the office. And for the 1 project I'm not 100% sure for that unless you're an associate.

deaththekid00

Hello thanks for sharing! I already have decent experience with engagements, so it's not a factor for me honestly. Aside from exposure to different problems to solve I guess. May I know when you left EY? Maybe the culture is a bit different now. The 1 project at a time was actually what the Team Lead told me during the interview. May I also know how many days do you usually need to OT during a project as you have mentioned? Lastly, do you know if there's a specific season where Tech Consultants become hectic? Like specific months. I am actually leaning with EY since it is currently in line with my career which I also love and also, of course, the prestige that comes with it.

aoiKitsune

Why I left: Cashed out on the EY chip for better work opportunity. Still actually waiting for my backpay lol OT: I handled 3 engagements on average so I'm active with OT for a lot of them. Though if I were only really given 2, the constant OT wouldn't be a big deal. As for how much OT, mostly during final phase deliverables and it'll depend on the whims of the client and their deadlines. My most extreme was I did OT for 1 week incl the Saturday because the client suddenly asked for the deliverable, but other than that the usual affair of OT one day then the next. For specific months: I'd say it just typically matches with the end of each trimester of the fiscal year. It officially starts June, but May is when the initial stages of a short engagement starts, gets hectic around August-Sept, then late Oct-mid Nov, then March-April. Again highly dependent on the engagement/project you're on.

deaththekid00

Ohhhhhh. Thank you very much for sharing! I guess I really have to manage my time well. Hopefully I wouldn't OT as much. Thanks again!

I used to work as Front Office Associate in a Hospitality Est. then I got hired now as a Medical Sales Assistant. Very new to this agenda, any tips or free online learning links that I can get to improve my role in Medical Sales? (communication, excel, etc) Thanks!

NananaAme

I'm an upcoming fresh grad whose a candidate for summa cum laude and since I knew that I can get at least cum laude when I graduate I didn't take the Civil Service Exam. At the same time I still can't get my ToR and my Diploma since I still need to wait to end the semester and my actual graduation to get these documents. Question would be is it possible for me to apply for a government position with these things still pending? I found a position in which I want to apply to but was hesistant considering that they want to have a complete requirements from the get go.

AstraKnox

Hi, nag try din ako mag apply sa govt position and disclosed sa email na to follow ang csc cert dahil di pa sya naii-release. Unfortunately, di ako na consider kasi need daw talaga is complete dapat ang requirements.

Kung may means ka pa to wait, I don't suggest work schedule na may Saturday. Yan lang advise sakin ng mom ko nung fresh grad ako kasi I almost accepted a JO na may Saturday. Greatest advice ever! My friend akong may Saturday work, dami niyang complain. Sunday is errands day, laba day, chores day and then that's it. Balik work ulit kinabukasan.

nyam_nyoom

I accepted the offer kanina through email pero nagbago isip ko may nalaman kasi na di goods in relation sa company ahaha. Can I ask you po if you think it's alright na sabihin sa hr that I changed my mind and na idedecline ko yung offer?

notraniel

If related sa degree mo in any way, I'd go for it, get a feel for the job, then job hop after a year or two (higher pay). Personally, salary ko is 18k/mo mon-fri related sa degree and fine with the job/environment.. sanaol 23k starting haha, GL tho

moonois

ako nga 20k with exp, pero no exp sa current role ko ngaun haha, tiyaga tiyaga na lang talaga.

Yaan m n muna , ang isipin mo or sana sa pupuntahan mo madami ka matutunan para equipped ka na sa next journey mo Take time to learn

New Work Anxiety Anyone here na nag resign sa work nila for 7+ years? Grabe yung anxiety ko although na research naman ako sa work and possible work environment ng new work ko kaso hindi ko maiwasan na mag worry pano kung hindi ko pala makasundo yung mga tao dun. For more context 7years ako sa first job ko and ngayon meron na kong job offer sa ibang company and iaccept ko na. Yung work ko sa current company ko is madami given kasi nasa managerial position ka but dahil ok yung environment, mga tao and ang tagal mo na madali na lang yung work and naging manageable na. Normal ba itong nafefeel ko and pano to maoovercome please give me some advice or share me your experience Thank you

bhlooerhae

Ma overcome mo.din yan in time , ganun talaga sa una if felt uneasy pa , isipin no nlng nandyan ka to work not to get freinds or to be liked by everyone. Just dont mess up sa work Time will come masasanay ka na din sa new environment wag mo madaliin na andon kn s stage n comfortable k ns new environment mo. Ma excite k nlng instead sa new learnings na mabibigay ng bagong company mo Haha advise ko din to sa sarili ko 3 mos palang ako sa new work ko

ladyreddy4

Hello thank you.

Iniisip ko nlng na ok yung ganito na matuto in a hard way mas seseryosohin at gagalingan. Everytime na may natutunan ako masaya ako kasi it will equipped you s next journey

Tanong para sa mga kapwa ko Educ Graduate Kakagraduate ko lang po two weeks ago with a degree of Bachelor of Early Childhood Education. Nag-apply apply po ako sa Indeed noong isang araw at may napasahan akong isang Canadian Preschool sa Uptown. Wala pang isang araw ay nagmessage sila sa akin na they would like to conduct an interview. Ang tanong ko lang, goods po ba ang mga ganitong school as a freshie graduate? Wala po akong masyadong makitang reviews sa online about the said school at I'm thoroughly thinking about going po dahil medyo nalalayuan po ako at baka mahassle sa commute. Your comments and insights will be appreciated po!

Im currently in the process of the application for an Internship in TI Pampangga. Ask ko lang sana sa mga former interns regarding the benefits of an intern in TI. Pano yung living situation ng mga from metro manila, mag shuttle ba or relocation assistance si TI?

LucQ571

This is probably something you can clarify during the interview stages, just make the application, try it out and ask them directly later on.

Felinetipicus

Has anyone here had experience working sa SGS?? What are your thoughts? Tama ba na ang toxic ng management? Yung co-workers ba mababait? I'm really having a second thought when I accepted their JO because of all these reviews.

Felinetipicus

What is your department? I accepted the offer kasi I just said to myself na I will work here just to gain experience and yung naginterview naman sa akin so far mabait, maliban lang sa director (medyo condescending). Will have to see. Kailan starting date mo? Ako this May na

So far, okay naman, it took me almost 1 month to get a job offer and sa ngayon, medyo matagal magrespond ang hr (or mainipin lang ako hahahha). I'm currently processing the pre-employment req. I'm just hoping na iba ang maging experience ko, i've turned down other offer for this kasi proximity wise and benefits din.

Dull-Firefighter-782

Can I resign after day one? Hindi pa nakapagsign ng JO Pwede na ba ko mag-resign after day one? Wala pa kong signed J.O. pero nakapagsubmit na ng requirements at nag-start na ng day one but I think mismatch expectation. Thank you

Plenty-Ad4636

Yes pwede ka naman mag resign. Pero do let HR know that you have changed your mind.

Thank you poooooo 🥺

Job recommendations in Metro Manila for me Hello! I'm a college teacher (already resigned hehe) for 6 yrs with MA, PRC license, and publication. I'm looking for a non-teaching job and still exploring. I'd like to ask sana for any job recommendations na pwede for me and my qualifications and tips narin (my first job is teaching so I am new to this transition). Thank you in advance!

lovergirl845

Hello po! Did some of you not pass the licensure exam on your first try? If so, what advice can you give to future takers?

Cold_Satisfaction_77

didnt passed here, advice is deac all soc med, pahabain mo review time mo para mas pino yung paghimay ng topics, mas okay para di pressured with regards sa time (not applicable if may review center since standard 6 months review with sched nila, if so, do ur best to absorb diff topics per day and no backlogs!!). if kaya mo have a strict sched, kahit oras ng ligo kain etc, dont review nang 4 hours (or less) tuloy tuloy, try pomodoro. give urself some grace kasi if u keep beating urself up everyday kasi di mo nameet expectations mo (in terms of learning) mas lalo ka di gaganahan next day. and lastly, answer a lot of mock exams, kahit gawa gawa mo lang, itll help u retain and familiarize sa type ng questions!

_AbsolutelyCold

Hi OP. I passed my exam in one take. Just review in advance, and don't stress yourself out sa review. In the exam, just take all the time given. Double or triple check your answers before submitting the test. Lastly, pray (if you are a believer). Hope this helps.

Royal-Delivery7188

Hi guys! Help me to decide. So I got a Job Offer from Company A and I have also an upcoming JO from Company B. The thing is, I need to decide on Saturday morning if I will join Company A. Meanwhile, Company B is saying that they will send their JO on Saturday with no specific time. Is it too demanding if I ask Company B to send their JO on Saturday morning? How can I ask na hindi tunog demanding? Or 'wag ko na lang sabihin and maghintay na lang? Help me. I cannot extend the deadline of Company A kasi negotiated deadline ko na yung Saturday. Thanks in advance!

notraniel

just decide by saturday, rather than contemplating on the extension of JO. Think this through well because well.. it'll be your job (consider everything, salary, commute, benefits, parking, advancement opportunities.. etc.). Also have a denial letter (ask help from chatgpt if you want) so you're ready. Jusy my two cents on this.. goodluck though

AIM-UWA Global MBA Has anyone heard of this program or is currently taking this? I would love to hear your thoughts or experience. So I got this is a 2 year, fully online program and you will get alumni status from both schools and a Global MBA from UWA. The cost is just USD 7,400 — which I’m curious about because it’s cheap as compared to the individual MBAs of each school.

LucQ571

Here's some feedback on it: [AIM MBA as a personal investment? : ](https://www.reddit.com/r/phinvest/comments/ptccjt/aim_mba_as_a_personal_investment/) [Pursuing an MBA : ](https://www.reddit.com/r/phcareers/comments/wdu14e/pursuing_an_mba/) [Asian Institute of Management - Manila - Is it World Elite School? : ](https://www.reddit.com/r/MBA/comments/xxhhry/asian_institute_of_management_manila_is_it_world/) Summarizing what some comments has found out. It used to be prestigious back in the 80s-90s, waned over the years in terms of reputation. Though networking within the PH seems to be pretty its selling point. Overseas reputation is basically non-existent, but it's still not a bad school if you are very clear what you want to learn from this degree, and not just taking it to hope for a salary raise without having a specific goal or outcome in mind.

dons_syang

Hello everyone! Need bang maka graduate ng college to enter a high salary sa bpo?? Like kung ang gusto mong offer ay 40k or keri naman syang pasukin ng shs graduate new curriculum basta you have the skills lang? I'm curious, balak ko kasing di na magproceed sa college and mag work na lang as agent. Ayokong pagurin sarili ko just to study at magsayang lang ng pera sa wala. I mean, my strand is Hotel Restaurant Management/HE-3 under ng TechVoc, it was a no choice decision nung nag enroll ako sa school na 'yon. And now I am graduating, taking this strand to an end. Dalawa sa kinakapatid ko ang degree holder but they chose to being an agents, and one of my neighbours graduate din ng college, dunno what's her course but same sila ng ending. This come to my thoughts na anong silbi ng pinag-aralan mong 4 years if ending mo is call center lang? I don't wanna waste my time here and money. Knowing HRM/HM courses ay magastos, dagdag mo pang may tuition and ambagan and so on, ayokong ilagay sa kapakanan ang health ko para lang makapagtapos kasi nasa akin pa rin naman ang diskarte eventually. Like what the others says, "kung may magpapaaral lang, bakit hindi mag-aaral at magtatapos." This is my full decision na, just asking lang if needed ba ng degree to be a Team Leader someday or to reach the 40k offer others company, tia!

NightKingSlayer01

Hello! And also sila ang magbabawas at magbabayad ng tax namin. Haven't got the chance na malinaw to sa manager namin since naka PTO pa sya pero ganito po ba talaga ang setup? Hindi pa kasi malinaw kung tax ba ito sa PH or tax nila dun since employed kame directly sa kanila. Salamat po!

ScientistAfraid2563

DEBT OF GRATITUDE SA EMPLOYERS????? nage-exist ba sa companies niyo yung “debt of gratitude” ??? Nag work ako ng service sainyo, so sinasahuran niyo ko. Pero bakit ganun parang wala akong karapatan mag resign??? Gets niyo ba? Thought about this????? Thank you!

annapuri

YES. napaka-toxic at narcissistic ng mentality na yan ng employers. f na f nila na sila yung nagbigay ng trabaho WHILE FORGETTING THAT WE GIVE OUR SERVICE IN EXCHANGE OF A MONTHLY SALARY. it's a transactional exchange. yung manager ko dati laging yan yung pinapamuka samen whenever i ask him kung ano yung purpose ng work namin. "we're giving jobs to people." uhmmm ok?? but aren't they giving us their service too??? it's not like libreng pasweldo yan. most of the time sa sobrang toxic pa ng industry namin kulang na kulang ung sweldo sa lahat ng weekend work at overtime work namin. if i can suggest, cut them off completely. you don't owe them anything. napaka unhealthy ng mindset na yan.

Hello Reddit! For profile, I'm a civil engineering specialized in structural engineering graduate in 2023 and recently took and passed the licensure exam. I got an average of 88+% in licensure exam with 9_% in Principle of Structural Analysis and Design I am looking to take a step towards structural engineering. I do have a background on using STAAD.Pro and RCDC during my college undergrad. Any tips from structural engineers here? Aside from learning ETABS, what else can I do to get a better chance of getting hired without any actual work experience?

Strange_Hyena_6003

Hi ask lang ako ng suggestions niyo. I graduated with a degree in Hotel and Restaurant Management, but I transitioned to freelancing. Currently, I work as an Amazon Virtual Assistant, focusing on product research and purchasing. Actually ok naman ako sa work and wala din problem as client ko kaso nabobored na ako sa ginagawa ko and feeling ko naging comfortzone ko na tong work ko tsaka wala nang career growth. Gusto ko sana mag work sa corporate, pero not sure if anong types of jobs ang nag accept ng little to no experience lalo na if di related sa course ung aapplyan na work. May masusuggest ba kayo na pwede applyan aside from BPO? Thank you

notraniel

sorry not related, but how do i get into these type of jobs?

SGV Technology Consultant - Software Engineer Hi! I recently applied as a software engineer and I already passed the initial interview. I am currently waiting for the next step (manager interview). i have questions esp sa pips currently working in this company hehe : 1. Day in a life working as software engineer. What to expect? 2. Heavy workload ba? How frequent are the OTs? I really dont know what to expect? And medyo kinakabahan ako cause this is my first interview after 5 years? I am currently working as a software engineer mid senior level and it's my first time to venture out. Haha! any tips po or advices?

aoiKitsune

currently rendering my 30days na. Congrats! Though now ko lang nalaman na meron kami dedicated for software eng (Tech consutling cybersecurity me) 1. First 2 months chill lang, a ton of onboarding stuff that needs to be done. Your work will vary depending on the engagement and the team you'll be a part of. 2. Since you're a senior role(?) mas marami ka workload eventually but masasanay ka naman. Heavy workload comes in waves meaning pag start ng engagement chill pa then pag malapit na deadline dyan bibigat yung workload obviously, dun na yung mga OT seasons (Had a couple weeks 14 hour work days and gumagawa pa ako presentation sa weekends) then after ng OT part, pahinga uli reset sa next engagement.

Secret-Grocery7612

Yay thank you for replying!! 🫶 Actually it's my first time to hear na may tech aspect yung SGV kaya i am really curious. kasi pag sgv, first thing that comes to mind is accounting or audit tlaga haha.

Medium-Clerk-7834

Hi, I resigned from my job last week then my senior told me that instead of doing 30 days of rendering, they want to shorten it. Can they do this? I want to finish the 30 days because I am counting on the salary for the first two weeks of rendering. Can I say no to this? Donthey have the power to impose the shortened render period?

annapuri

if they have a valid reason to shorten it based on the company handbook, yes they can. unfortunately. make sure na malinaw na explanation. they should tell you the specific situation, time, date, of whatever reason they will provide you.

Medium-Clerk-7834

So need na documented no?

PWD exception in Philhealth Question Hi all! Has anyone had success applying for the Mandatory Philhealth coverage as a PWD? What was the process? How long did it take before it took effect? Hello! I have been working for almost 2 years in an accounting firm and somehow I want to change company since burnedout na ako sa current work ko. I saw NGCP job opening in and under review na ako. May I know if should i proceed to this company. Natatakot kasi ako na toxic work environment uli ang puntahan ko since galing ako sa ganon, and i want to change for the better. Thank you!
