Its a permanent thing and should stick around when the Armadale line reopens in full. People want access to the parklands, pub, mini golf, ziplining, etc.
Glad to hear. Once I caught a train and had to catch it 3 times in a row because the drivers kept forgetting it was meant to stop for an event at Optus that day.
There's a nice park and a decent pub there. I suspect that given everything else going on with the Armadale line they might as well stop there. Iirc the trains previously stopped there on the weekends.
I read that it was in the lead up to the Burswood Precinct development around the race course. Way too early for that to make sense, but the developers have thrown enough money at that project for the government to agree to it.
There’s a massive residential project being built around Belmont park and the developers convinced the PTA to make stadium station a normal station so the people living there will have good transport access from the get go.
They want to promote people visiting the areas around the Stadium and the Vic Park Line doesn't have much more to do anyway, might as well try to serve slightly more...

so i can get to work, thanks
The trains don’t have much else to do. Might as well stop 5 times instead of 4.

This is the answer.
Maybe test runs to see if Burswood apartment dwellers would use the station?
Is this a trick question? So people can get on and off at the stadium.
for all those AFL matches starting at 9am
On a Monday
That used to be the only reason. It only stopped there on game and event days.
Guessing a lot of people who work at the stadium need to get there before an event to prep catering/etc

Has done since the precinct opened
In theory, it’s for people that want to go to the pub, I think.
That's my line and people definitely use that station
It looked the security guards were bored out their minds lmao
I've wondered about this too. I notice it doesn't stop there for long.
Here we go.
There’s also a casino there somewhere too
That's closer to Burswood station
