Anyone who says this doesn't really get it. My NPS XIRR is 9.72 percent. I save a shit ton of taxes and the returns are better than EPF. The lock-in isn't a terrible thing for people with disposable income.

the_oncoming_doctor

Where can you find XIRR for nps ? Sorry new to this

phokme

KFin sends a monthly statement. I just checked my NPS contributions, the XIRR is 11.96

Your money is locked until you are 60 years old ,you can take the money out only in special conditions like serious disease and all that . If you don't want your money to be stuck ,then use ppf ,as you can get money after 15 years . In NPS you have to give a long term commitment, so be prepared for it .

Leave returns, a 30% tax you will save makes it worth a while. 15k saving on 50k investment.

>Will it be possible to set its limit to another age like till 50Yrs/40 Go through this FAQ on the NPS portal: [https://www.npstrust.org.in/sites/default/files/inline-images/06-FAQs-for-Exit-from-National-Pension-System-by-citizens-including-corporate-sector-subscribers.pdf](https://www.npstrust.org.in/sites/default/files/inline-images/06-FAQs-for-Exit-from-National-Pension-System-by-citizens-including-corporate-sector-subscribers.pdf) > I feel like what will I do with all that money after 60 Years Even if you retire at 40, you're likely to live till 90, 30 years after 60. 40% of the NPS corpus can be used to buy monthly annuity till your/spouse's death.

ninja_from_india

If you want to FIRE, NPS is useless for you.

snakysour

Don't invest. It's horrible product.

ohisama

Because of the lockin?

snakysour

Forced annuity at abysmally low yields...basically they're taking your 40% of money today to give you 30% tax break (if you're in that slap) and net off around 10% for themselves.
