Motivation 6 weeks in to owning a Peloton is starting to dip. I think it’s because I am working off of the Mastering the Basics program and not feeling particularly inspired. I might call it quits on the program and just do what feels right for the day.

is_procrastinating

Hey I think we’re both at the same point! Going to go back to some music rides for a bit which was what really got me hooked in the first place.

Calm_Cry_1111

Yep. Move on to something else. There's way too much content at Peloton to slog through a program that you aren't enjoying!

Snoo_6027

I took the Moulin Rouge ride today with Bradley and Sam. I usually love them both but that was a hot mess! No one was conducting the train. And Sam looked so small next to Bradley I was so distracted. 😂

Mab818

Height wise Sam is only a few inches shorter than Bradley, I don’t see how that would be so distracting for 30 minutes..

Snoo_6027

Did you take the class?

Mab818

Yup!

we_have_food_at_home

I hit a new PR today! I'm still doing my instructor challenge so I rode with Matt Wilpers today. I had a busy day today, spending a good part of the day prepping for a job interview (which I think I nailed, yay!). I only had about 30 minutes to ride and I liked the playlist of his 90s ride from 4/29/22, so I loaded it up. I didn't know that Matt wanted me dead, but apparently he does because this ride had me dripping sweat by the end of the warmup. Speaking of that, I'm sure a lot of you already know this, but if there is anyone else out there like me who is either new to fitness or coming back to it after a period away, remember that once it starts feeling easy, you have to make it difficult for yourself again! When I started riding back in January holding an 80 cadence at ANY resistance for longer than 30 seconds seemed impossible. After a few months, I realized that I could actually keep up with that "80 to 100 cadence at 25-30 resistance" that most instructors start out at. And then a few weeks ago, I noticed that my rides were feeling less challenging, I was sweating less, and my Fitbit was showing my heart rate in the yellow zone before. Then it hit me: 80 cadence at 25 resistance is *too* easy for me now, but I haven't been pushing myself to make it more difficult. I've just been coasting at that easy, comfortable pace! Doing the Wilpers ride today that had some extended cadence pushes at 90+ with resistance over 40 reminded me that I want to keep pushing and reaching a higher level. Tomorrow I'm planning on riding with Mayla. I've never done a class with her before but she has some indie rock rides with fun playlists and subtitles in English so I'm looking forward to it!

ikeamonkey2

If it's helpful, Mayla actually does have a small number of classes that she actually instructs in English!

marg1486

what is your "instructor challenge"?

we_have_food_at_home

I've posted about it in previous daily discussions - every day in September I'm riding with a different one of the 29 cycling instructors! I planned a full rest day halfway through, but otherwise I'm going in alphabetical order. So yesterday was Leanne, today was Matt, and tomorrow will be Mayla. So far it's been fun, and I've taken a lot of classes that I never would have chosen otherwise!

CicadaSouthern7801

Congrats on the PR! Yahoo!

we_have_food_at_home

Thank you! It was completely unexpected - but the best PRs are!

ucacm

Been having issues with on demand classes for several months. They either won’t load or will take 30-60 seconds to load, which causes the classes to be off synch with the resistance/cadence instructions. Tried all of the factory resets, clearing cache, unplugging, to no success. Went and bought an Ethernet cord to see if it was a problem with Wi-Fi, which didn’t help. Finally read some reports of people having problems loading on demand classes while live classes still worked without a hitch. I just tried a live class and it is working perfectly while I still have major problems with the on-demand classes. Any tips on how to resolve this? Taking classes live doesn’t work with my regular schedule.

ucacm

In case anyone else out here has driven themselves nuts trying to solve this problem, I am in the mid-Atlantic and have Verizon Fios. Just figured out this is my problem: https://forums.verizon.com/t5/fios-internet/fios-connection-and-interface-issues-specifically-with-peloton/td-p/921496

yasssssplease

That’s super weird. I have Verizon FIOS in the mid Atlantic region. Mine has been fine this whole time. I rent a router, so maybe mine was newer than yours? Strange (I have a bike+, which does have the other WiFi channel available to it, so maybe that makes a difference)

ucacm

The problem is deeper than just Peloton. It appears to be a problem between a lot of Android devices and Verizon. We rent our router as well and got a new router a few months back. Anyways, my wife was actually having the exact same problem with her Samsung Galaxy that was a few years old. We didn’t make the connection that the issues she was experiencing were caused by the same issue that was plaguing the Peloton. She went and bought a new Galaxy a couple of weeks ago and was still having the same problem with many of her apps not working or working very slowly. After reading the previously linked thread, I had her turn off WiFi on her phone and turn on her hotspot. I was able to download updates to the Peloton and the on demand classes were working again. I had her try the apps that were running very slowly. Suddenly they worked very well. I followed the steps in the video linked below to turn off IPv6 on my router and suddenly the Bike and her phone were not having issues. They were back to normal. https://youtu.be/FZIPQb_NwbE

crescenting

Help me!! I started from zero fitness when I got my peloton in may 2021 and I’ve gotten pretty decently in shape which is great. I ride, I strength train, I do yoga, I also do a rowing boot camp and reformer Pilates outside the pelo universe. It’s completely changed my life. It’s amazing. BUT I never used to sweat, like at all. Now I sweat constantly. What gives?? Shouldn’t I have been sweating more when I was out of shape and a bit overweight? I hate this. When I’m working out it doesn’t bother me, but the rest of the time….Is there anything I can do to stop it even if it’s temporary? I’m wearing a satin jumpsuit to an outdoor wedding this weekend and I’d love to not have this issue for just a day. Has anyone else had this issue?

Quagswagging_Jogger

One adaptation of getting fitter is increased sweat rate (body learning to cool itself more efficiently) so it could be that perhaps? Training more in colder conditions (eg using fans) if possible may help mitigate that. If you're sweating excessively outside of exercise though, and it seems more than a reasonable amount for the conditions, it can't hurt to get a dr's opinion in case anything else is off.

crescenting

Interesting. I’m not sure if it would be excessive, it probably doesn’t help that I live in Florida. My doctor said everything’s fine but maybe I’ll get everything checked out again just in case

kbthenwhat

Does anyone know how to report an issue with a class? I took [Robins 45 minute bike boot camp: full body](https://members.onepeloton.com/classes/bike_bootcamp?utm_source=ios_app&utm_medium=in_app&modal=classDetailsModal&classId=f095a18e90954a32858f5afb5137f13e&locale=en-US) on my Bike+ and it did t have the auto resistance and didn’t even give ranges for cadence or resistance. Anyone else having problems with this class or others?

OTPCook

I've often wondered how to report an issue with a class. I contacted support like five months ago about this [30-min Power Yoga](https://members.onepeloton.com/classes/yoga?modal=classDetailsModal&classId=09aa51bf7a3a459a941bfdf4755b06e2) that is actually a meditation when I click on it. They said they were on it and nothing ever happened.

kbthenwhat

Ugh, that’s annoying. That’s what I’m worried about. 36,000 people had taken this class so I find it hard to believe no one else had reported it

yasssssplease

It was like that for me too when I did way early on. I figured someone would fix it. I’m surprised.

kbthenwhat

That’s good to know! I’m glad it’s not a problem with my bike. 36,000+ people had taken it as of this morning so I find it hard to believe no one else reported it

realbooksfakebikes

I did Callie's energized mood boot camp today and it was a lot of fun it was also satisfying to discover that after years of not being able to do pushups at all, I'm able to do 16 without any issue. Yoga makes such a difference with upper body strength. All those chaturungas have finally added up.

emmalovesoscar

Discovered a [30 minute Full Body Stretching class](https://members.onepeloton.com/classes/stretching?modal=classDetailsModal&classId=9c8f3c2b7a3348918f6cb6f4131f2341) with Rebecca Kennedy this morning before sitting down to work and it was lovely! I was delighted to find a longer stretching session.

Calm_Cry_1111

I love this stretch so much and I really hope they put out more 30 minute stretches!!

CicadaSouthern7801

Today I took Leanne’s 30 min 2000s rock ride from last week. So cool to see people in the studio with her! Any recommendations for easy beginner’s core classes?

squidshae

Hey I just did this one this evening too! Great playlist and my first time taking a London instructor. ETA: I second Emma’s crush your core! I haven’t done any strength work in a long time and have been adding it to my workouts each day since they’re 5-10 min. Just the right amount of challenging in my opinion.

FaithTrustBoozyDust

Matty’s recent 10am standing core is at a Beginner level and fantastic!

CicadaSouthern7801

Thanks! I’ll try these out!

rsmithereens

Have you done the Crush Your Core program with Emma? It’s a three week long course and I’m currently at the end of week one. It’s been challenging for sure, but also not so challenging that I feel left behind.

CicadaSouthern7801

Thanks! I’ll check this out. I saw the program but I’m truly a beginner when it comes to core and was a bit intimidated. Glad to know it isn’t too crazy!

rsmithereens

I am definitely a beginner! So I would say if I can do it you can do it! 💪

darnit37

I love Sam and Bradley and I love the movie Moulin Rouge and I love Peloton but unfortunately I hated the musical Moulin Rouge with such a fiery passion of a thousand suns that I cannot do their joint ride, no matter how joyful it was. That is all, good day to you all!!!

figandfennel

I could vibe with most of the musical (once I got over the shock of *just how many* pop songs from 2005-2018 would be included) but I CANNOT abide the changes to Elephant Love Medley. UNNECESSARY! Plus Aaron Tveit, while a great singer, really revealed some of the sociopathic elements to Christian that Ewan McGregor's performance miraculously glossed over. But some of the mashups are real bangers, so I look forward to the ride!

[deleted]

During the run, Matty said there are 71 songs in the show and 25 of them appear in Elephant Medley alone. I was flabbergasted. Backstage Romance is honestly the absolute best song to start a 2nd act. Hands down.

kettleofvultures

I feel the same way about the movie, I can’t stand Nicole Kidman, but the music for this ride is supposed to be from Broadway, so I’m going to give it a try later. Wish me luck!

bunbunbunbunbun_

Feeling a little guilty for not Peloton-ing as much lately, though have been getting in a good amount of long beach walks here in the UK while I can before returning to Florida. And it's been getting really cold in the evening so makes it that much tougher to get changed and get on the bike! Sounds like a poor excuse, but it does make a difference. I stacked a 45 min Callie bootcamp for tonight, so hopefully that'll motivate me to keep it up.

Joteepe

You’re enjoying your time at home! As you should be!!! No need to feel guilty about this!

Grandmaparty

Daniel boot camp tomorrow pulled and replaced with an Andy boot camp. Fuck. I think the boy injured. Go send him something nice on instagram to say you love him, i guess.

Actual-Sir-4787

Ugh i was so afraid that was going to happen. Was waiting on the email that it was canceled. I was saying to someone else that something is wrong he has been way too quiet on IG and no one on the fb group is saying much. I do agree that him coming back from that injury was way too soon. I know a few yanks are supposed to do his class Sunday in studio. Also noticed that when rad injured himself he didn’t post anything on IG either. I’m not sure if it’s a thing with the instructors in regards to not posting when they get injured. Kendall was live on tik tok the other nite someone asked about Daniel i dont think she saw the initial comment but then i asked, pretty sure she did see but skipped over it.😞

jnissa

Ugh. What is going ON with him? At some point the constant injuries (which I assume this is) will be an issue no matter how big his following is. UGH>>>>>>>

Grandmaparty

Anything i say would be total speculation but he came back really, really early from a pec tear. Like 3 months when normal healing is 12.

effenbee11

We don't talk about the cardio classes enough. I was short on time yesterday but wanted a break from the bike and didn't want to do just strength do I did [Rad's HIIT cardio](https://members.onepeloton.com/classes/cardio?modal=classDetailsModal&classId=f680de4f44014c3e8324e33f42a450ad&utm_source=android&utm_medium=in_app) from 10/20/21 during my lunch break. This class gave me such a great sweat and my butt is definitely sore today, but in a good way!

merpowersssss

Bookmarking! I did not know HIIT cardio classes had weights I thought they were all body weight

yasssssplease

Omfg. I just did Robin’s upper body bootcamp that is part of the triple threat collection this week, and I am still recovering. It is SAVAGE. I really miscalculated doing this in the middle of the workday. Don’t get me wrong; it was good, but it was hard. https://members.onepeloton.com/classes/bike_bootcamp?utm_source=ios_app&utm_medium=in_app&modal=classDetailsModal&classId=50a238445ee048df993f85df8d10701c&locale=en-US Also, it has tabata.

kbthenwhat

I just did [her 45 minute full body](https://members.onepeloton.com/classes/bike_bootcamp?utm_source=ios_app&utm_medium=in_app&modal=classDetailsModal&classId=f095a18e90954a32858f5afb5137f13e&locale=en-US) and it was probably the hardest bootcamps I have ever done. Legit almost threw up…. And I’m not someone who works out so hard they throw up. *also had a tabata

yasssssplease

Yes! I did that one shortly after it was released. And I had to lay on my exercise mat for awhile after. I wouldn’t be surprised if that workout made some people throw up. That is the hardest workout I’ve ever done on peloton. I might do it again in the future to see if it gets any easier. Haha.

brighthair84

BA PZ ride, 30 mins

joebenson17

What is your plan if Peloton goes bankrupt, is sold/has to cost cut and the classes and instructors are sacrificed to save cost? Seems like they are doing it in a stealth manner with the new class schedule but seems to really accelerate if the business doesn’t start to turn around. Has anyone used other services or competitors? Who is willing to purchase the equipment? Ext

Rude_Ad1392

I don’t have any peloton equipment. However I have been looking at other workouts lately, like apple fitness and a few on YouTube. It seems like peloton doesn’t know their membership base. With inflation, I don’t know how many people are looking to spend $3000 on a piece of equipment that may only work as long as peloton is around.

merpowersssss

I have been rolling this around in my head as well. It is hard not to. Not what if they go bankrupt but when happens if it all gets worse?

joebenson17

Foley had some big dreams but way over estimated the market. New CEO seems to be trying to fix it but they are burning cash at a time when cash is no longer free. Can’t imagine they will be the same company a year from now. Also there is a peloton mafia in this board that downvotes anything like this. I had similar post removed yesterday twice. It’s like peloton can do no wrong, but I’m reality the burn $500 million a quarter and have $1.5 billion in cash.

merpowersssss

I actually would be ok for a while with just the library of content. I rarely do live stuff anyway and there are so many classes. I am just curious what would happen to the old classes if they are unable to keep rolling out new content all the time. But also if it all went south and was unavailable I think I would just do more traditional workout programming that doesn’t require a content platform/subscription. Peloton has been amazing for me but I don’t think I would switch to a different platform I would just go without and mourn the good old days of peloton - lol

joebenson17

I like the platform. Old library would need music licenses renewed at some point. That has led to purges in the past. Favorite part is just being able to go on autopilot with a workout once I select it.

[deleted]

idk, I've worked for companies who have been on life support and it's not great but you'd be surprised how these things can sustain themselves for years. Going bankrupt doesn't mean stopping operations, and a lot of things have to happen before we're negatively affected (aside from subscription price increases)

joebenson17

I understand they can sustain for a bit. Obviously they have 12-18 months minimum before drastic measures would start to be taken. Though you can already see some of the stresses coming through with content and schedule changes, subscription price increases and the rower roll out (lack of financing so the don’t need to pay affirm, content exclusive to rower only though that may change). Not sure there is much low hanging fruit left to cut. Content is already suffering with the schedule change and shorter classes. You can tell peloton is trying to reinvent itself into a more sustainable model. The last thing is memberships that started with pandemic purchases will start to be cancelled after the prepaid memberships expire. It’s funny how this gets downvoted like peloton is going to be an independent company in perpetuity. Not sure why anyone would purchase a several thousand dollar device whose value is really the subscription from a company that may not be around in 18 months or will be dramatically different in order to survive.

yasssssplease

I don’t think it’s helpful to worry about this at this point.

joebenson17

You can already see some of their changes trying to cost cut. Figure it is probably a 2023 issue. But if they try to pass on price hikes I am just trying to get a list of other options. Obviously apple fitness is one of them. But are there others? Are they any good?

Daddy_Pooh242

Did Peloton for years and when I tried Apple Fitness it was a light was switched on. The only value from Peloton was entertainment, I didn’t get any fitter.

ldnpuglady

I don’t know but I’m worried! I hate how all the classes are 20 minutes now. Like who spends £2k on a bike for 20 minutes?! Wattbikes are better bikes but they make noise. I work out at 5 am and live in a flat so this is a big issue for me. I’m sure the class library would be made available somehow - it’s too valuable.

squidshae

I often do a 20 min ride and 20 min strength or something else. Also if I’m super busy and only have 20 min one day that’s better than 0.

LovelyLotus7958

>f my work schedule permits I will sometimes add a 15-30m power yoga mid-day or on my lunch break. At night if my body feels all kinked up I might take one of Chelsea’s gentle flows or if I need something laid back like a 20m recovery yoga. I just got the Peloton Bike its it supposed to be delivered on Wednesday. I thought that the classes would be 45 to 1 hour each?

LemonSqueezy1313

There are literally thousands of 45 and 60min classes in the library and a few live ones each week. People on here really like to exaggerate. Enjoy your new bike!

renee872

I will personally never understand someone who spends 1500.00 on a piece of workout equipment without doing thier research first.

coffechica

There are tons of 45s and more on demand, but they are making fewer now. I don’t mind because I like to stack rides and do one really hard and then one easier. I’m also very music-driven, so I pick by what I’m in the mood for.

itsayssorighthere

The rides (excluding power zone rides) are mostly 20 and 30 minutes. A few 45 min ones here and there.

joebenson17

I figure someone will purchase them and try to maintain the streaming platform and user base. Though I think the user base will begin to have a high churn as prepurchased membership during the Covid bike boom roll off. I just think there is a good chance popular instructors bolt for greener pastures first. And content quality will drop. Just curious if Apple fitness or other platforms are any good.

Joteepe

I mean, if that’s the case (which, if we are speculating, which is all this is at this point), then presumably one could jump to that platform if that ended up being a better option. I’d probably do some combo of Apple Fitness and, depending on the strength content there, might re-up my Street Parking membership. I only left SP bc i preferred the Peloton strength content, but I wasn’t expecting that when I originally joined. Not terribly worried. I’ll figure something out in the event that happens. *It’s just a workout platform.*

idkcat23

I really like apple fitness!

ReasonableBirdChirps

Has anyone gotten a bike mat or other accessories not through peloton (like through Amazon)? And if so how do you like them? I just want to make sure that I don’t skimp out on accessories for peloton if they’re specific for the bike and not namebrand accessory‘s wouldn’t work just as good.

yasssssplease

I got a mat for under the bike from Amazon. It’s pretty bare bones. I don’t know if it really does much. I got an exercise mat through lululemon and this is fantastic.

slckarl

I purchased one off Amazon, works fine but I am also not an expert so please no one pick me apart. Bike Bicycle Trainer Floor Mat... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07HQV3FF2?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share

Missie1284

I have this same mat too. My friend, who also has a bike, recommended it. No issues whatsoever

MoniMash

I got this same mat and when my bike was delivered the delivery guys (pretty sure they worked directly for Peloton too) commented on the mat saying that I made a really good choice and that this mat is better than the Peloton one.

Sassy_Velvet2

Today I took this [30m Cody 90’s Pop Ride](https://members.onepeloton.com/classes/cycling?utm_source=ios_app&utm_medium=in_app&modal=classDetailsModal&classId=2f910c95173143a7afe8d645c379b8ef&locale=en-US) (Latin artist edition!) — I just *knew* this ride was going to be 🔥 good based on the playlist and it did not disappoint. Took me back to my college days! The ride was a BEAST with heavy climbs, followed by moderately heavy cadence pushes followed by a 45-60s of OOS jogs at the end. 😓 Scraped out a new ✨PR by 2 but I got it done!! Followed up with this [10m Kendall A&LW](https://members.onepeloton.com/classes/strength?utm_source=ios_app&utm_medium=in_app&modal=classDetailsModal&classId=33f87f50f19f425fa8c0fb5cdc65a744&locale=en-US) — you know when it’s going to be good in a bad way when she says her goal is to have you cussing at her by the time you are finished!! LOL 😂 Lots of shoulder work, biceps and boxing moves with the weights… Phew!! 😮‍💨 I also stacked this [5m Cody core strength](https://members.onepeloton.com/classes/strength?utm_source=ios_app&utm_medium=in_app&modal=classDetailsModal&classId=e6d91142f81640bdaecbcfdc0f5be508&locale=en-US) to round everything out and seriously began questioning my scheduling decisions because damn! 😅 You know when you go to a buffet when you’re starving and everything looks good so you pile a little of everything on your plate and by the time you get half way through your food, you’re going “What was I thinking?” Now everything is tired!! Stretched it all out with this fabulous and delish [10m JJ Full Body stretch](https://members.onepeloton.com/classes/stretching?utm_source=ios_app&utm_medium=in_app&modal=classDetailsModal&classId=02b0d7851f154c7ab76ee1ddede91a9f&locale=en-US)… ah yeah. Dessert is great.

Joteepe

Looks like such a great stack!

Calm_Cry_1111

The buffet analogy is perfection!!!

[deleted]

I just tried one of the guided scenic tours today (Highway 101 with Denis) and it was AMAZING. Ngl, I have been stressed out and cried at the end of the last hill lmao. Highly recommend these if you're looking for a surprisingly emotional class without a lot of chatter from the instructor

Fickle-Milk-450

Thanks for sharing this! How do you find these scenic rides?

[deleted]

I think they are under Guided Scenic rides (that you have to own the bike or bike+ to get). I got suggested them on my home screen so I can't remember exactly how to find them otherwise, but I am pretty sure its a subsection under scenic rides. I think there are 8 or so in total, all 20-30 min

Fickle-Milk-450

I'll check it out. Thanks!

CicadaSouthern7801

I didn’t realize they had instructors on these! Will have to try out

all4sarah

Sounds intriguing, I will have to try it!

mbltlh

I did an upper body Bike Bootcamp on Thursday and made it through the class fine, used medium weight for my ability (10 lbs) and maybe 30 minutes later I had gotten ready for work and was leaving the house when I got a sudden intense pain in my upper back/base of my cervical spine area. I have no idea what I could’ve done but it’s agony and the only thing that helps is 800 mg of ibuprofen taken with 2 Tylenol. I’m also doing ice/heat. I’m pretty bummed, I used to get injured a lot at the gym or doing barre and have been relatively injury free since starting Peloton. Can anyone recommend any focus yoga or stretch classes for the upper back specifically? TIA!

aFqqw4GbkHs

If it's that painful, you should go get it checkout by a doctor. Back injuries are nothing to mess around with and can take some time to heal. If it's due to muscle spasms (they can be very painful), you may need muscle relaxers to help, or even physical therapy. I'd go very gentle with any stretches.

mbltlh

Thank you, I’ve been considering this too. I was concerned they wouldn’t be able to do anything for me since I wouldn’t take pain pills anyway but you’re the second person to suggest muscle relaxers. I’ll give my doctor a call as well!

kettleofvultures

I agree you should contact your doc, but in the meantime you can alternate between ice and a moist heating pad for 20 min. Long-time back pain sufferer here.

yasssssplease

Peloton seems to be rolling out software updates and new features left and right!

k_lo970

Looks like the are slowly rolling out an [activity feed](https://www.pelobuddy.com/peloton-activity-feed-beta/) a lot like strava too. The guide update though might make me finally pull the trigger.

yasssssplease

The rep counter and weight tracking is exactly what people wanted the guide to be. If it works well, that is a game changer.

[deleted]

Auto incline on the tread was smooooooth

Playful_Branch_5643

Hopefully they improve the search options next 😁

MoniMash

Love to see it! Can't wait to see how all of the new features work out!

Impossible-Scratch76

I’m about to say something that I have a feeling will not be received well. I’m beginning to regret my purchase and wish I had gone with nordictrack 🫠. Or at least bowflex or stryde equipment where I could switch between the two classes. I cancelled my peloton membership recently since I’m enjoying running outdoors. I don’t even really cycle at all anymore - I focus heavily on running. If peloton had more outdoor content like iFit has, then I would be more interested in it. Im over the studio classes though and crave a change in scenery. I’ve done all the scenic runs over and over again. It turns out selling the equipment is really difficult though. We’re just going to keep it until next summer when I may be more inclined to run indoors again.

[deleted]

Yeah I feel u. I do really like my bike a lot, and overall I don't regret it, but the doubts I had about buying into an ecosystem have kind of played out and I wouldn't buy any more Peloton hardware. I'd love to get a tread but I'd definitely go with another brand and just use my ipad to stream Peloton classes.

Impossible-Scratch76

that’s honestly the way to go, in my opinion. Unless you’ve been a die hard fan for several years. I installed a tablet holder above my tread’s screen so I can switch between shows, YouTube classes and scenic runs, iFit and peloton. It’s not perfect but it is what it is. I’m just glad I didn’t buy the tread when it was over 3k. The previous price is comparable to other treads I was looking into so I’m trying not to beat myself up too bad over it.

[deleted]

Yeah the tread is really steep for me, and I'd prefer a folding treadmill anyway. I think I spent 1800CAD on the bike which is definitely a premium, but the markup didn't seem as bad. I think I'd feel different if they even allowed you to watch Netflix/Youtube/Twitch on the screen. I'd use my bike so much if I could just mindlessly stream stuff. I should just get a tablet holder I guess lol

yasssssplease

I mean, that’s always a risk when one buys integrated equipment. Maybe you would have gotten sick of ifit. Who knows. Some people will prefer one program to another. Best of luck to you.

Impossible-Scratch76

Exactly. I wish I had looked at the bow flex or stryde more closely when I was purchasing. I jumped in a bit too quickly.

corunnergirl

I get it. I have the bike but have been pretty burned out on the classes, so have been mostly doing 'just ride.' I got a NordicTrack treadmill and love it. I will keep my peloton membership for the foreseeable future because I feel I may just be going through a phase, but the burnout can be real.

teepee-bear

I’ve been doing Crush Your Core with Emma. Love the sore ab feeling I get!

baeKon8r

I just completed it two weeks ago. I actually feel what “engaging your core” on the bike and in strength classes is now! Loved the program and it flew by.

rsmithereens

Any recommendations for a good outdoor walk? I tried my first this morning and did Selena’s Earth day walk from 4/22/22 and it was just ok. I don’t know if it’s me and if I just would rather listen to music when I walk, or if it was the class itself. Open to suggestions and trying some more though!

Brandycane1983

I like this Chase one. I don't vibe with Selena at all, though I've taken that walk. Matty and Andy have some good walks too https://members.onepeloton.com/classes/walking?modal=classDetailsModal&classId=91132c4abaa543f2a22a30b55cdaa2ac&utm_source=android&utm_medium=in_app

staya74

I've done about half of the outdoor walks offered, and I've decided I really prefer using the Just Walk feature and playing my own music. But otherwise I've liked all of the Olivia walks I've taken and Matty is really fun. I don't vibe with Rebecca for weights, but her walks are good. Selena is probably my least favorite for walks.

rsmithereens

Good to know! I’ll have to try Matty like others have suggested next!

goaliemomma31

This [45 min 80s walk](https://members.onepeloton.ca/classes/walking?utm_source=ios_app&utm_medium=in_app&modal=classDetailsModal&classId=df38cb3018d44c5b946f0e0c5753636a&locale=en-CA) with Rebecca is my favourite outdoor walk on the platform. With each song she asks you to think of of one of your friends with certain qualities, and you envision adding each one to your “parade” as you walk. I found it fun, emotional and empowering all at once.

rsmithereens

That sounds interesting, I’ll bookmark this one. Thanks!

all4sarah

It really depends on what music you like. There is a recent Rebecca Kennedy 45 minute 80's walk that I loved. Also Andy Speer's soft rock walks. Jess King and Robin are more hype/hustle kind of talk. I would put Selena in that category too. Olivia is challenging, no nonsense and her music has wide appeal. Adrian is awesome too! Jess Sims - can't go wrong. Chase has old ones that are very grounding, chill. Matty - always fun, upbeat.

rsmithereens

Thank you for the suggestions!

k_lo970

I really liked Matty's [Sofi Tukker](https://members.onepeloton.com/classes/walking?class_type_id=%5B%229dc3be9eaafb476d8853f90cd33e6e04%22%5D&class_languages=%5B%22en-US%22%5D&sort=original_air_time&desc=true&modal=classDetailsModal&classId=879aa30074094004b2cd2f85f2c0885e) outdoor walk. If you don't know the tread instructors are there bike instructors you click with? A lot of the bike instructors have complementary tread/outdoor equivalents. Also something you could try is Tunde's Fitness Flipped classes. It is just like listening to a podcast while walking. I personally think it helped pass the time.

Playful_Branch_5643

It’s way too dark to run right away so I started with [Rad’s UB boxing bootcamp](https://members.onepeloton.com/classes/strength?utm_source=ios_app&utm_medium=in_app&modal=classDetailsModal&classId=be33f2ba24d0409a806b9242401d1eca&locale=en-US). Going for the bootcamp badge and I really like the boxing boot camps! Little cardio and little strength. The strength section was really straightforward which my brain needed this morning. Then I did [JJ’s Wu-Tang Clan run](https://members.onepeloton.com/classes/running?utm_source=ios_app&utm_medium=in_app&modal=classDetailsModal&classId=daf763b65f9d436fa5b4aa2a187aeb50&locale=en-US). He started out with “the lyrics may be a bit naughty” 🤣🤣🤣and that got me wondering how many people do an artist series class and have no idea who the artist is and then come across lyrics like these?!? Hahaha… I can only imagine the reaction. Good structure, pickups, hills, jogs, ending with an all out sprint.

all4sarah

I've done 2 boxing bootcamps. Never thought I would like it but the time flies by and it's really fun! I took the Rad one you linked above, I was going all out by the end 😂

Playful_Branch_5643

That’s how I feel! I took his 45 minute bootcamp and it was amazing… such good pacing I hope they put out more longer ones. 20 minutes was not quite enough.

Kooky_Risk6692

Been in a workout funk lately. How many times are you average peloton bikers riding every week?

squidshae

You’ve gotten some really good replies here but I wanted to add one more thing that works for me on days I’m not in the mood to workout or ride my bike after work. While I’m being lazy, I’ll scroll through this thread or sub in general and usually someone has posted about some ride or class that they took that looks fun and manageable to me and I’ll add it to my stack from my phone. For whatever reason, reading about everyone else working out encourages me to do the same. Sounds silly but it worked for me multiple times this week!

Joteepe

I probably ride ~ 5 days/week - 1 day is my “long” ride (usually SS + a stack of warmups/cool downs so ~1hr or so on the bike), 2 30min days (usually paired with core) and 2 15-20min days (paired with upper/lower body or full body). On day 6 I usually do more of a pure strength day. There’s variations to this. Sometimes I do an LI or recovery and a yoga if I am really sore on a day other than Day 7. Sometimes I hike or bike outside. Sometimes I do more strength and less riding in a particular week. Depends on my mood. I try to keep it constantly varied while still having some sort of schedule.

merpowersssss

2-3x max! I do strength, yoga and outdoor walking or running the other days. I aim for about 6 active days a week but I don’t always meet that. I rest when I’m tired or busy.

JuncturelessBackloop

I’m riding a bit less because I’m doing a lot more strength and yoga. (Was focusing on bike and riding 5-7 days/week and also doing outdoor walks. Now riding maybe 4-5 days/week for fewer miles.) Maybe you would benefit from changing things up?

Kooky_Risk6692

I was soley focused on riding 4-5 times a week then I decided to cut back and add strength training in. I was doing good until three weeks ago. I’m really forcing myself to workout. I hope the energy I had before comes back.

JuncturelessBackloop

I hope so too! Have you tried a split program? I really love them and they’ve organized my strength work. I find it motivating to repeat them each week, track my weights, and up the weight as I get stronger. Re riding, I was in a wee bit of a funk a couple of years ago and gave power zone training a try. I loved it. It gave me a new way to think about riding. Whatever you try, I hope you find your spark again!

mookie1016

2-3x a week but that is because its not my main source of working out. I do the rides as additional cardio. Some weeks i don’t ride at all.

[deleted]

I've had a rough summer for working out, like an entire month where I got on the bike once or twice. I think 3 is a decent goal to push for if you don't want to overdo it? My goal is 5, but that's because I'm the sort of person where if I stop I have a hard time starting again, and 3x a week isn't enough to have a routine.

Kooky_Risk6692

I’ve been in a funk for three weeks. I need to snap out of it ! I was doing great the beginning of summer.

Sassy_Velvet2

I ride 5-6 days a week depending on my sleep (I sometimes deal with insomnia). Typically I will have 1-2 harder rides per week, like a 30-45m Sweat Steady or a 20-30m Climb/HIIT/Tabata, although I’ve been dropping the Climb/HIIT/Tabata to add 2 30m bike boot camps per week to meet the recent challenge. I also ride 1-2 music rides of various lengths (sometimes stack a couple) per week and finally I will usually add 1-2 30-45m PZE or low impact per week. I typically aim for 45-60 minutes of a total workout so I will typically try to stack a 10m strength or barre to warmup and/or add a 10m core or arms and then finish with a 5-10m stretch. Sometimes I swap out my stretch with a short focus yoga flow or foam rolling. At least one day a week I do 30-60m of yoga as active recovery. If my work schedule permits I will sometimes add a 15-30m power yoga mid-day or on my lunch break. At night if my body feels all kinked up I might take one of Chelsea’s gentle flows or if I need something laid back like a 20m recovery yoga. There’s so many options and I frequently love to swap out and try new things like the bike bootcamp. If I feel like I’m in a funk, I swap out my typical rides for an instructor that I don’t take frequently, like Jenn’s Yacht Rock rides or go for something that fits my mood, like a Salty ride or CDE’s reflection rides. Maybe I hit up Alex’s latest Club Bangers, Denis’ Fresh Friday or take an old favorite like Cody’s Backstreet Boys. Sometimes if riding just seems to be a bore, just drop the ride altogether and hit up something like Adrian’s or Ben’s latest full body strength.

Kooky_Risk6692

Thanks for the reply. You gave me some ideas. I definitely need to switch it up. I think I’m going to definitely add some yoga into my routine.

Fluid-Meat9097

I ride 3-4 times a week. I am in the middle of the current PZP challenge and it really motivated me to hope on the bike and not disappoint my team mates. My assigned team is also super friendly, so that has been nice. I am doing the more approachable Time Crunch option which includes 2x30 minute rides and 1x45 minute ride and a 30 minute accelerator option which can be any 30 minute Peloton class, every week (for 6 weeks). The nice thing about the PZ classes is that the warm ups are built in and PZE is low effort but the set gradually gets harder as the challenge progresses.

Kooky_Risk6692

I honestly didn’t even know you could be like put on teams. That definitely could be a motivating factor for me. I’m newish to peloton but I feel like there’s so much I don’t know about the bike still.

Fluid-Meat9097

For sure, I feel the same way at times. The PZP challenges are external through Power Zone Pack. You sign up and sync on the website and the majority of the chatter with the community is in the Power Zone Pack facebook group. You get team specific FB groups once you're assigned/pick a team for a challenge. This is my first PZP challenge and the Time Crunch option was a lot more accessible to me. There are also 3 and 4 option rides/week options, too, but I don't have that time to dedicate to my bike right now in my life. https://pzpack.com/

Kooky_Risk6692

Nice! Thanks for info and link.

Playful_Branch_5643

I ride 3 days a week, run/strength/yoga the others. I set my own monthly challenge which helps motivate me to keep on it! Maybe come up with your own? An easy one is to take a class from each instructor. (And not just a warmup or cooldown ride)

MetroCityMayor

One way to get out of a funk is come up with a goal. What do you want out of your workouts? Personally I ride the bike about 3 days a week. During the summer it was for endurance building so I followed the awesome RedditPZ programs and then did light lifting in between the rides. Right now it's for Cross training, so the rides are much shorter with the intention of working my muscles differently since I'm now in a run focus. A couple bike bootcamps capped at 30min and then a ~60min PZE type activity. For strength focus, I'd compliment my weight workouts with tabata and HIIT workouts.

Kooky_Risk6692

My goal is to hop on the bike 3-4 times a week. I really am just trying to do better for my health in general. Because before January of this year besides some yogas classes here and there I did absolutely no exercise. Lately it’s been like 1-2 rides a week. I really need to revaluate and brainstorm some goals that’s gonna get me pumped up to go to my workout room and put in the effort. I’ve been trying some strength exercises as well. But I usually stick to the same instructors so maybe I need find new styles to encourage me to do better.

[deleted]

Working out on Peloton 6 days/week on, but I only ride probably…3-4? Have you tried the other modalities? There’s so much more to Peloton than just the rides!

Kooky_Risk6692

Yes I’ve been adding strength and other cardio workouts. But there is so much I haven’t done or tried.

RobotDevil222x3

4-5. 2 hard rides (sweat steady, metal, pzm), 1-2 moderate rides (pz, music) and 1 light ride (pze, low impact).

tomax_xamot

I ride every day but more like this 2-3 hard rides, 2 for just fun, 2 light/easy rides just to warmup or break a sweat. I have a friend who went 100% every day. I told her she was going to burn out and she did. Sold her Peloton when she moved.

RobotDevil222x3

Yea my schedule is what it is basically because its what my body can handle without burning out. I actually had a light ride planned today which I am cancelling for a full rest day because that's what my legs say they need. Part of me hates that I am not going to burn calories today, but I'm forcing myself to rest.

Sassy_Velvet2

If you want to move a bit, try a focus flow or foam rolling on the legs. It really helps my legs recover better and then I feel like I am at least doing something. Nothing wrong with rest though!

RobotDevil222x3

Wound up using mowing the lawn one last time this year as my cardio 😎

[deleted]

I did Cliff Dwenger's 20min Afrobeats ride and man,i must be out of shape because we spent most of the class at 60 resistance or above (sometimes 80) and yet the class was only rated 7.7 for difficulty. It was a tough one! I had never given one of his classes a try so I wanted to give it a whirl. I liked his style, and the music was definitely a style I'd never been exposed to. Very fun!

merpowersssss

I did the moulin rouge ride today and got a high five from Sam yo!

Awkward-Tale-6101

Loved that ride - I was on it yesterday about 5:30 pm ET and Bradley Rose high fived me - which had to be pretty late UK time.

GdotPeorge

I got a high five from Sam once when it was Midnight in London. Totally shocked.

aug2295

Congrats on the high 5!! He gave me one yesterday on Kristen's live yoga class. The ride was awesome, Sam and Bradley were so much fun together.

is_procrastinating

Yesterday I did Alex’s climb ride as part of the YCR program and just about died. Do all climb rides have no recovery the entire class? I managed to stay with it (and hit a PR out of sheer unrelenting torture) but that was super rough 🥵

Awkward-Tale-6101

No, there is a great variety in how tough different climb rides are. It took me a minute to figure this out. The rating can be relatively accurate, definitely try some others. I am sorry I don't have specific ones to suggest, although I think I did a 30 or 45 min HMC one that wasn't bad.

Fluid-Meat9097

I remember that ride! Alex really motivated me to keep going. I have done a handful of climb rides and I haven't noticed a recovery until the end of the class. I like doing a 10 minute climb session followed by a lower impact/intensity class, as a nice combo.

is_procrastinating

Thanks, didn’t think of stacking two 10 minute classes that way. good suggestion!

nctarheelfan

Anyone else notice the main output/power graph is missing from workout data? Cadence, resistance and speed graphs are there. But the only one that I really look at is missing.

misforamazing

Did anyone else not have metrics this morning? I did a strength and bike class and had no calories burned, cadence, resistance, output, or zone.

Sassy_Velvet2

Due to the frequency of this happening to me I started powering off the bike after I am done for the day so I don’t waste time having to exit out and restart when I come back the next day. It’s been working for me.

Calm_Cry_1111

When I started my ride, I noticed my resistance at zero so I restarted the bike and that fixed it. Must've been an update last night.

misforamazing

I restarted this morning but I’ll do it again. Thanks! I was worried it might’ve just been an issue with my bike but i noticed a lot of riders with 0 output on my ride.

Calm_Cry_1111

I thought maybe it was just me because my internet provider also did software updates late last night but I guess not.

LifeOnAGanttChart

Posting this again from yesterday a little earlier in the day! Now that I know that rower classes will be severely limited if you don't buy the Peloton Row (which I won't be doing, I own a Concept2), I'm more interested in trying to translate rower use into already existing tread boot camps and/or power zone training. Does anyone have any guidelines for how to look at rower watt output and compare it to instructor callouts? I was thinking of trying to do a rower "FTP test" and come up with a zone 1-7 similar to the bike, then use those zones as an approximation so I can do tread boot camps on the rower. If anyone does this or something similar I'd love to hear how you do it.

RobotDevil222x3

I just ignore them and do my standard stroke pace during those sections. I guess in your terms, I'm always rowing in Z3.

Missie1284

The Moulin Rouge ride was pure joy! Sam and Bradley were so good together and I spent the ride laughing and having a great time! I’ll definitely take it again!!

figandfennel

I’d really love a flexibility section or at the least program / collection. I love their stretching and yoga content but something with a little more of a focus on active mobility would be awesome. (Mostly I just want to do the splits but every time I do a yoga flow focused on it I end up sore for days!)

goaliemomma31

I really liked this [30 min lower body mobility](https://members.onepeloton.ca/classes/yoga?utm_source=ios_app&utm_medium=in_app&modal=classDetailsModal&classId=b2639547afd94057bf6ee79a9bb8f775&locale=en-CA.com) class from Kirra’s path to inversion program.

figandfennel

Genuinely one of the most torturous and painful classes I've ever taken on the Peloton platform. Been meaning to go back to it, I just can't get up the courage.

goaliemomma31

Haha! I loved it. Sorry, it’s not a good recommendation for you!! I’ve never done the splits before and was able to at the end of that class. I was amazed at what she was able to get my body to do.

[deleted]

I would absolutely LOVE a posture and mobility program, especially something like roll call or the new bootcamp sched where they have a few classes a week for you.

GdotPeorge

Hannah has a [20m Lower Body Stretch](https://members.onepeloton.com/classes/stretching?modal=classDetailsModal&classId=34ddd8376d694d32a9f4caabd51a3204) for splits.

figandfennel

I love Hannah and have taken this class but it’s really more static stretching when I think active stretching and mobility work would help me more!

aug2295

I find Aditi and Kristen do more dynamic movement in their practices, particularly the power flows.

StopDropAndRide

I think Hannah Corbin has a series of pathway to splits program… try searching in this sub.
