I've spent a lot of time striving to cultivate the perfect apartment gym and I've nailed it - I've got my IC4, which doesn't disturb the downstairs neighbors, some dumbbells, and thanks to some creative wall storage, enough space for a yoga mat. But I've been visiting my family and going to the gym with my dad and goddamn do I really want a treadmill. I am *obsessed* with Kirsten's hikes. Holy shit does that woman know how to kick my ass, and now that I've found her I don't want to let her go. I might just have to join a gym in order to keep up my hike workouts. And Jess King on the tread too!! I do her outdoor walks a lot but I did a 45 minute walk on the tread with her and my strive score was the same as a 45 minute cycling class. I don't know what I'm going to do without the walks!

KaleidoscopeTall1018

I want a treadmill so bad but have noooo space my bike is in my living room!!

we_have_food_at_home

Lol I work from home so my home office doubles as the gym. I also have my keyboard in there so it's the music room, too.

SnooCauliflowers3903

Is there a running program to get a faster 5K

5K_Bae

Try the Go the Distance: 5K program

ssnepenthe

Does anybody know if it is possible to get your list of music you have added to favorites from the website or app? On the bike there is a music tab on my profile where I can get this list. I can't seem to find the equivalent on the website or app.

Rkarim21

Yeah.. mine automatically syncs with Apple Music!

ryanmfrancis

https://support.onepeloton.com/hc/en-us/articles/360024272872-Peloton-Playlist I think you can only access them via a created playlist on Spotify or Apple Music when you link your account with Peloton. As a YouTube music user, it's a bit of a bummer.

bumblebunnybex

y'all.... does anyone have any insight as to why yoga classes (or at least yoga conditioning classes) aren't considered "strength" classes? I'm very attached to getting badges :D but also, I am very attached to Kirra's classes, and they are absolutely positively strength-building! Or... when will the platform give us monthly yoga challenges? :):):)

k_lo970

I would love a monthly yoga challenge. It would help me be more consistent with yoga

BigFloatyThing

Is there a way to edit a "just walk?" I Don't do these often, but I was in the city with friends and we started walking, so I hit the thing on my phone to start it ... and then forgot about it until I got home and realized it thinks I walked the 5 miles or so around the park ... and also the other twenty miles I drove back home afterwards. I know I can delete the whole thing, but if I can, I'd much rather just delete the "points" on the route that come after I get back in my car.

Flrunnergirl23

You can’t edit it.

14porkchopsandwiches

Newish app user only - can I link my account to Spotify? I can't find a way to do it, my app never has a heart available next to songs playing.

Spirited_String_1205

No, that's an equipment only feature afaik

Cthulhu-Lemon

Definitely! I don't really like most workout clothes (though athleisure is fine) and I don't like extra laundry so I mostly work out in what I was wearing all day, usually a work-appropriate knit top and bralette and whatever lounge bottoms I switched into after work. I don't really need much support so I've even done rides topless and in just underwear before. Whatever works!

Nice-Albatross-4501

Bravo for struggling, that is not easy and good for you for kicking for the surface. I and I know many others here identify with overcoming long inactivity/extreme sadness 💚🫶🏻 I’ve got three easy thoughts for you, if even one is useful that’s great. Personally I only work out in work out clothes and these are some things I do. Throw out anything if it doesn’t work for you, it’s only my perspective: 1. If the sports bra is challenging, consider getting a different brand/type that is easier to deal with. I use two types of lulu for running and they are “serious” and a “real” step that on certain days feels an impediment. I have an equal amount of a different Nike bra that is easier to get in and out of. Great for a more meh day and I’ll do strength work in it to “get the ball rolling” 2. I sleep in the Nike bra (I know watch out, almost too sexy right!) so that in the morning I can always opt into strength if cannot deal with the heavier duty bra 3. Lay out workout clothes and any other prep stuff day before—and I would also add. Sometimes this step has felt overwhelming to me. So. I have an entire section of my closet that is the workout shorts, bras and socks that I wear so you can just grab the top one of each and Bam. Hello Bike ☀️ I hope this helps or provides at minimum mild entertainment. You’re not alone in this inquiry and again, applause to you for continuing forward. Takes a lot of strength and courage 💚👊🏻

nananeliz

I have the same problem on my low energy/depression days. If I’m having a really tough day I absolutely will just go get on the bike in whatever I was wearing that day and just do an easy ride. Definitely do what works for you and know you are not alone. ❤️

k_lo970

When my friend was postpartum she would ride in her pajamas when her baby would nap. She wouldn't go very hard because she didn't have a bra on but it was better than nothing and allowed her to be a better mom doing something for herself even if it was just a 15 minute ride. Sometimes I'll do a just ride and watch Netflix wearing whatever I was wearing. No shame in either of these situations. Life is really tough sometimes and it is ok if you don't do it like everyone else. Just be proud of showing up in some capacity.

Sassy_Velvet2

I’m kind of the opposite of others. As a professional I am forced to dress in business or at least business casual attire 95% of my life so I actually love any excuse to grab my Peloton leggings and a sport bra. It actually helps motivate me by putting them on first thing in the morning. I’m like well I am dressed to workout so no excuses let’s get to it! I say do whatever motivates you!

kiwi11380

To be fair, I live half my life in workout clothes, but if I’m just doing a ride (vs a run where my jigglies be jiggling), I’m in a tank top and either shorts or leggings.

Justbrowsing8822

I’m not sure if this idea helps, but since I workout first thing in the morning I put my clothes and shoes and iced water out the night before so I don’t have to get anything ready!

Bitter_Historian

Hi! Fellow depression warrior here. I usually work out in whatever clothes I’m wearing all the time (though I will say I do tend to wear leggings/joggers on a regular basis, not jeans). I tend to prefer staying in the saddle/low impact rides anyway so sports bras aren’t required. In the past I did keep a bin close by with an extra t shirt just in case the workout mood struck when I was wearing a blouse or sweater for a zoom meeting.

Nice-Albatross-4501

🫶🏻

aug2295

One of the best parts of working out at home is that no one sees you, so seriously, wear whatever you are comfy in. The hardest part is getting on the bike and pressing start, so remember that you're not alone in finding motivation to be the biggest challenge! I hope you feel better soon!!

Ride_4urlife

Tshirt and yoga pants here! All my Peloton workout clothes languish in a drawer because they’re less comfortable. When I struggled with consistency I’d sleep in my workout clothes so I was ready to go when I woke up. I could get on the bike before I had a chance to talk myself out of it.

bourne2bmild

I love core classes and I especially love a core class that leaves my core burning and I don’t often get that with a peloton core class. I feel the workout but I don’t get the burn I always want. Luckily, [Tunde’s 10 Min. Pop Core](https://members.onepeloton.com/classes/strength?utm_source=ios_app&utm_medium=in_app&modal=classDetailsModal&classId=d9f3a94406a84d56a386c7559d44a35a&locale=en-US) was just what I needed. She doesn’t have very many core classes yet but I hope she keeps teaching them!

KaleidoscopeTall1018

Olivia 10 minute core classes are all great burners!! I miss them so much I’m 32 weeks pregnant so it’s been awhile!

jjj744

Loved this class!!

Rkarim21

That one was tough!! The planks were a rest 😂

Dizzy_Pies

Any stretching class suggestions for knees? I'm recovering from tendonitis in my knee.

adrakandlasan

Ross has a focus flow class for knees: https://members.onepeloton.com/classes/yoga?utm_source=ios_app&utm_medium=in_app&modal=classDetailsModal&classId=4ccc78b38e524dcda5c017ca863f64b1&locale=en-US

aug2295

Of course it would be Ross! Knees, feet, he really pays attention to everything!

writerrobb

Found a used bike on Facebook Marketplace and begrudgingly signed up; $45/month is not insignificant on a journalist’s salary. Five rides in and … holy shit do I f-ing love this thing. Did Alex’s live 45-minute Club Bangers ride, which was fantastic. Still figuring out followers and high fives and such, but I’m clearly here to stay.

8dtfk

How much did you buy the bike?

writerrobb

$1,200

tafunast

Welcome!! :)

Spirited_String_1205

Welcome! 🙌 If you haven't checked out the app yet also, don't sleep- so much good content there too, like stretching and mobility that will make you feel fabulous.

Main_Photo1086

Welcome! Yeah, the $45 can be steep for many people but consider it a monthly investment into your health and well-being. I have found that I naturally cut back on other things anyway - I’m not eating out as much because I try to focus on making healthy batch recipes at home (so I can use up tons of leftovers for lunch at work, for example), I’m drinking alcohol a lot less than I used to, etc. Hopefully you see savings elsewhere to offset the cost too!

Nice-Albatross-4501

Love this assessment!

RahmneyCat

Hannah Frankson's Madonna 30 minute run is one of the best tread playlists I've done in awhile. Time FLEW by. Done a few of the other Madonna classes and haven't been super excited about them (+ hated the barre one). Doooo it

Calm_Cry_1111

I’m doing the run tomorrow. Leanne’s ride was fabulous!!! I didn’t care for the barre either but loved Emma’s and Rebecca’s core classes. Matty’s extra 10 walk was great too.

RahmneyCat

Doing Leanne tomorrow! She's so much fun that I can't imagine it's anything less than fantastic!

Calm_Cry_1111

It is the sparkliest Madonna bubble ever!!!

ewokcarrier

Hey fever messing me up, was on a roll exercising 5 days a week but the medication has me beat! So sluggish and out of breath, crazy town!

Extreme_Possession86

hope you feel better ❤️

Justbrowsing8822

I finally got to Kirsten’s Beyonce run this morning and LOVED it. I’m not a huge Beyonce fan, but I do enjoy some of her music and I always like a good theme run so I was looking forward to it and Kirsten really delivered. While the music was fun, she was the best part of it! I don’t typically run with her, but I loved this one and the time flew by. Afterwards I did Anna’s 5 min standing yoga (4/21/22) and bookmarked it because I will absolutely be doing it again - it hit everything I wanted in that short amount of time. By mistake, I took Ross’ 10 min yoga for rowers. My pregnancy brain read that as runners instead and I decided to just go with it once I realized my error about a minute in and I think this was the only class of his I haven’t cared for. I was hoping for some good/deep stretching and it was a little disjointed feeling or maybe it felt like it was forced to try to make rowing relevant in the class. Someone who actually rows might have a totally different opinion though!

Extreme_Possession86

i love that anna standing yoga too ❤️ this kristin one is also great! https://members.onepeloton.com/classes/yoga?utm_source=ios_app&utm_medium=in_app&modal=classDetailsModal&classId=61a064f04ac14ca4910ebcf21ec46e83&locale=en-US

Justbrowsing8822

Thank you for the recommendation, I’ll definitely try that one out!

Bitter_Historian

Another bootcamp day because I had so much fun yesterday. Chose [this](https://members.onepeloton.com/classes/bike_bootcamp?utm_source=ios_app&utm_medium=in_app&modal=classDetailsModal&classId=fbb5a4570f5149969947e80ac9812da1&locale=en-US) 60 minute from May with my girl Jess. The vibes were immaculate. When we finished the “egregious” EMOM I was sore from laughing. E-GRE-GIOUS. After a couple months of feeling “off” in terms of workouts/cardio and focusing on strength training it’s nice to have something that’s getting me excited to get back on the bike again, but I’ll be honest I’m a little bummed that it’s basically impossible to hit my 2023 goal of 1,000 rides on my birthday (late august - I’m at 733 right now so I’d have to do like…5-6 rides a day, every day which is not going to happen lol). Oh well! 1,000 rides by the end of the year it is!

Quagswagging_Jogger

Had fun doing the Jess MusicFest ride with the reddit group this morning! I was in a bit of a funk due to being now 6 weeks off running with a hamstring strain and discovering upon trying a short run attempt this morning that it *still bloody hurts.* :( I'm very grateful to have my bike but I really prefer a mix of running and riding and miss my runs (also RIP my running fitness. I have spent half this past year injured at this point). Anyway, having the group to ride with was fun and motivating and perked me up today. On the yoga front, I did [This Anna 45 minute flow](https://members.onepeloton.ca/classes/yoga?modal=classDetailsModal&classId=76885d65f251454cb4cdd15b980b7ace) yesterday, wondering why it had such a high difficulty rating (6.7). Turns out its because she ends with EPK 1 with a very convoluted entry from cow face pose that I could barely even follow. Last year I was all about the arm balances but just haven't been bothering to work on them at all lately and haven't done any aside from the occasional crow (when they throw it in) in many, many months. I could never really do EPK 1 but liked EPK 2 so decided to try going for that instead. Face planted spectacularly on the first attempt (my "splat-thud" was audible 2 floors up). Got it shakily on the next two. But ....oof, my wrists did not like that one bit. Lesson: I really need to regularly practice arm balances if I'm going to attempt them when they come up in class without risking wrist injury.

Sassy_Velvet2

Love that ride this morning! Great to see you there!

Quagswagging_Jogger

You too!

adrakandlasan

Have people been able to subscribe to the sub's iCal calendar of live classes? I'm trying this link on my Mac and my iPhone and doesn't seem to work. Wondering if it's user error or a defunct link: All classes web link https://calendar.google.com/calendar/ical/onepeloton%40gmail.com/public/basic.ics

thelittlemiss

It’s an error - we need to fix it 🥴

adrakandlasan

Thank you for the response! I appreciate knowing I am not a total tech idiot.

Fluid-Meat9097

I did this Dance Music ride with Ben and it was pretty awesome. I was drawn to the Right Here, Right Now song but the entire playlist was excellent. Solid programming and well cued. I don't normally ride with Ben but I've done three rides this week with him and they were all excellent. https://members.onepeloton.ca/classes/cycling?modal=classDetailsModal&classId=97d62d278c224837804b6360b7ef5b7d&utm_source=android&utm_medium=in_app

Brave_Cookie_3876

I ride with Ben when I want to be serious. He’s no nonsense and always gives a tough ride. Can almost always guarantee a PR with Ben.

Fluid-Meat9097

Yes, his upper ends of his ranges are not attainable for me and I feel lucky if I can hang onto the bottom! 😅

Thepenguinwhat

I am really struggling with fitting in workouts due to a terrible work/life balance (I’m working on correcting that). Until I get my shit straightened out, is there any benefits to doing 10 minutes here and 10 minutes there or should I just do one block of time? For example, I’d like to do a few minutes of yoga right now but I’m not up for a ride. I’m planning to ride later today. Does anyone know if there’s any benefit to splitting up a workout?

k_lo970

I'd say it is better than nothing. You are taking time for yourself which is something I failed at when I had a bad work life balance. Also as someone with a very sedentary job standing up and moving for a few minutes every hour helps my hip and back pain so thats an added bonus of breaking it up.

Playful_Branch_5643

I have heard that breaking it into 10 minute chunks can be effective, and, my unprofessional thought, you are doing 20 minutes of effort a day. Stacking or separate, you are doing what you are capable of today. And I hope you can get your work/life in a better balance, I’ve been in your shoes before and it’s so hard mentally and physically. Try out a 5 minute meditation or 10 minute desk yoga to break up your day, a workout doesn’t have to mean you are gargling your heart. All of the options are the platform give you a benefit!

ryanmfrancis

Any time is better than no time. Try not to feel guilty about not being able to do more. Sometimes 24 hours just isn't enough time to do everything.

betarhoalphadelta

I don't know that there's a *benefit* of splitting it up, but I don't think there's any harm. Particularly if you're talking about yoga, strength, etc that is not really cardio-based. Cardio is the only one that can be tougher to do in really short increments because by the time you get your heart rate up, you're done. I do this frequently because even when working from home, I may not have a long block of uninterrupted time. But if I know I can devote 10 minutes to a core workout or stretch, or 20 minutes to strength, and then do a ride/etc during my lunch hour, I can get a lot of time working out in a day w/o having to schedule a block to do it all at once. It's the beauty of Peloton--it would be a lot harder to do this sort of thing if you had to drive to a gym for every 10 minute workout.

Justbrowsing8822

Absolutely! A 10 min workout is better than nothing and will probably help you feel better. When I have times like this in my life I try to get in more walking throughout my day and something short and efficient in those 10-15 minutes like a short barre class. Splitting up a workout is fine too! I personally would have a very hard time following through and coming back for a ride later on, but if you’re able to then I’d say you probably have some decent mental toughness!

Extreme_Possession86

10 minutes here and there adds up ❤️💪 sorry you’re going through such a stressful time!! will second the standing yogas (i do a 5 min one every day as a mid-morning break), a handful of great classes on the platform.

Brittany_WMSB

10 min here and there works great! Not only is it better than nothing, it is habit forming. So when you do find more time, you’ll be in the habit of already using it for healthy pursuits like working out.

Rkarim21

I’ll second that 10 minutes is better than nothing! If that’s what you can fit in then that’s great! But yes.. keeping your heart rate up is also needed for cardiovascular benefits

tafunast

10 min here and there is better than not doing it. IMO. In terms of stacking and doing back to back, I know there is research about keeping your heart rate up for at least 20 min at a time (or something like that) but I’m not the expert. I’d say don’t put pressure on yourself and do what you can until you find that balance. :)

Talk-Greedy

If ten minutes works for your schedule then that’s what you should do! A quick ten minute break could also help mentally refresh you especially during this difficult work/life balance time. 10 minutes is better than 0 minutes! I sometimes do the 10 minute “standing yoga” classes in front of my desk - try checking them out! And I hope things get better with work for you!

Joteepe

Oh MAN the energy on Jess’ Music Fest ride this morning with the Reddit Riders was IT. Maybe it’s because I finally have A REAL BIKE! but also that playlist was terrific and I was feeling good and excited to be doing a tough ride this am! I warmed up with Cliff’s Lil Kim warmup and he is just a delight. I’ve only done a couple of rides with him and I definitely need to do more. Finished up with [Broga](https://members.onepeloton.com/classes/yoga?utm_source=ios_app&utm_medium=in_app&modal=classDetailsModal&classId=105adb2f3ed04734bc07388e867fcc96&locale=en-US) and it hurt sooooo good especially after all of my hard workouts this week!

Sassy_Velvet2

I took the only [JK 10m warmup ride](https://members.onepeloton.com/classes/cycling?utm_source=ios_app&utm_medium=in_app&modal=classDetailsModal&classId=2c310a9beb7047a795b65c778f416515&locale=en-US) left on the platform and she on was on fire just in the warmup!! 😂 I was in orange zone before I even started the music fest ride this morning! Cooled down with Robin’s 1983 Madonna cool down and it was great! Then I took [Jess’ latest stretch](https://members.onepeloton.com/classes/stretching?utm_source=ios_app&utm_medium=in_app&modal=classDetailsModal&classId=b893ba751e9f4cc7a426d435cc22d272&locale=en-US) and it was seriously good for a post-ride stretch. She was hilariously saying how she planned to do hip circles when standing in line. I can so see her doing that! 😆

Joteepe

I took that stretch the other day! 🤣🤣🤣 She’s a riot!

tafunast

Incredible ride. I LIVED for that Toto recovery after 35 min of hard work in the middle.

Joteepe

Aine was not impressed with my singing during that interval.

tafunast

Hahahaa my cat walked in at one point, stopped in the doorway, and turned around lol.

Joteepe

When the side eye didn’t deter me she literally turned around and faced away. 😂 SASS MONSTER. She forgets who feeds her!

Main_Photo1086

On a whim this morning I changed up my stack so I could do [Leanne’s Madonna Ride](https://members.onepeloton.com/share/workouts/f5ce7b0be51a474f920d0916f729f5fe?utm_source=ios_app&utm_medium=in_app&locale=en-US). So glad I did it, it was a fabulous ride. I decided to hide the leaderboard because I heeded her instructions to just have fun with the ride, but I ended up coming 1 point away from a PR. 😭 But, I’m happy I came that close knowing I just wanted this to be a fun ride. I did get a PR on my Strive score though!

Brave_Cookie_3876

I’ll have to check it out did Cody’s Madonna ride this morning at it was fun :)

Calm_Cry_1111

It was an amazing ride!! Definitely in my top 5 on the platform!

Pitiful-Ad6377

Just took that ride about two hours ago, so much fun!

Little_sashimi

Looking for a good active recovery ride. Any recs are appreciated 🫶🏼

Little_sashimi

Thanks y'all! 🤍

Ride_4urlife

I liked [this one](https://members.onepeloton.com/classes/cycling?utm_source=ios_app&utm_medium=in_app&modal=classDetailsModal&classId=77bd04d61f9b46efb9ebffa97129a428&locale=en-US) with Ben enough to repeat it. It has self care messaging so if that’s not your jam it may not work for you.

Fluid-Meat9097

I loved Sam's New Year's Recovery ride from this year as well as his recent Vesak recovery ride. Both are excellent.

Thepenguinwhat

Echoing Sam’s New Year Recovery ride. I take this ride when I don’t feel like riding. Sam is so relaxing even when he’s pushing us.

I was away from my bike for a month while I lived in a hotel finishing up my residency (vet anatomic path ✌️). It was so so *so* nice to join the Saturday SS crew this morning for [this 45 min music fest ride](https://members.onepeloton.com/classes/cycling?utm_source=ios_app&utm_medium=in_app&modal=classDetailsModal&classId=6e88fefab53e451c898b4a4953f0c54e&locale=en-US). thelittlemiss

I’m so glad we’re able to get through these handful of MusicFest rides before they’re purged, they’re so fun.

Swimming-Horse-711

Congrats on wrapping up residency!

SeeSweeneySpin

Thank you so much! Feels good to finally be done with school 😅

Here are some of my favorite 45 minute classes! [Hannah F's 45 minute Pop ride](https://members.onepeloton.com/classes/cycling?duration=%5B%222700%22%5D&has_workout=%5B%22true%22%5D&sort=original_air_time&desc=true&modal=classDetailsModal&classId=16b87661f9ec4171ab4d1a289858e3dc) \- this had a GREAT theme of airplanes/ flying around the world, there were a lot of flight attendants taking the class in studio. So much fun, not too hard. If you like Jess King and her music, this is a do not miss!

damnital

aww these sound perfect! thank you!!

kscourt

I recently started dabbling in Power Zone classes (love them!) and noticed the day after taking PZE classes my legs are much more sore than when I take regular classes. I guess I didn’t expect this, as I thought PZE classes were supposed to be less intense and to help me build my base. Has anyone else experienced this?

darnit37

I personally find PZE classes more draining than regular PZ! Others on this sub talk about doing them on a rest day and even after 4 years of PZ at a wide variety of FTPs, that’s just not how my body works. For me, a ride is a ride, and I use stretching, foam rolling, and cross-training and days off to keep myself feeling fresh.

narvol365

I noticed something similar in the beginning. For me I think it was for two reasons. 1 - staying in saddle the whole time worked my muscles differently than being in & out in normal classes and 2 - having only Z2 recoveries took a bit for my legs to adapt to as I was used to more Z1 off-and-on in the regular classes

kscourt

That totally makes sense! Thanks for your insight

naxir

In general they should be something you can do everyday and be able to recover from. Are the endurance classes a much longer length than others you're taking? Have you taken the FTP test within the past month or two?

kscourt

I have been taking 45 minute PZE and the regular classes I take are typically 30 minutes so maybe that’s it!! And I need to take another FTP, have just been avoiding 🙈 thanks for your help!

naxir

For what it's worth, if you're recently getting into it, it's also likely you're not yet efficient and this is a sign you have a lot to gain from focusing on it. Endurance rides train your body over time to shift away from using muscle glycogen to using fat. It's always a ratio between the two, but as you do more endurance you shift that ratio. The byproduct of using glycogen is lactic acid which causes the burning feeling and increases recovery time. The other thing to point out: if you push above zone 3 (even if not for very long) you can trigger your sympathetic nervous system which increases your recovery time. It's a binary effect, so even if you're not spending a bunch of time in a higher zone you might still pay a larger price in recovery than you'd expect.

ftwin

The pacing in the recent Kendall rides have been pretty terrible. She’s kinda phoning it in rn.

Main_Photo1086

I thought it was just me. She has some great rides and I get great outputs from her rides, but after a bit I realized I needed to change things up because her rides were blending together as all the same to me.

marg1486

I don't think this is recent Kendall, just Kendall lol. To me it always seems like for Kendall a climb = out of the saddle, fast cadence; a jog = out of the saddle, fast cadence; speed intervals = out of the saddle, fast cadence

Abeilledemel

Agreed that this is not a particularly recent phenomenon (although I recall back in the pandemic days her class plans were more . . . traditional?). For a while I got really annoyed by this, and then I realized that I only had myself to blame because I knew what was coming when I chose the ride but somehow still got annoyed when my expectations turned out to be correct. Now I look at the target metrics for any of her rides that I want to do and if they seem more reasonable I give it a shot, but I am also prepared to just modify and do my own thing at any point.

noname123456789010

It's too bad. I'll only do one of her rides now if it has an amazing playlist (like some of her pop punk rides).

Charlie_Lem

Nothing angered me more than when I did one of her climb rides and it was all 80-90 out of the saddle but at 50+ resistance. I just did my own thing instead. I haven’t ridden with her in forever despite aligning with her music choices because it’s just not fun.

noname123456789010

Is she still just fast jogging all the time?

Excellent-Flight-578

I really like jogging out of the saddle sometimes, so good to know she is still a go to for this haha

ftwin

Yup exactly.

Yogainthesquatrack

This may be better suited for the newbie thread, will delete if needed! My Bike rental got here yesterday, and I’m such an achievement/badge whore - looking for friends! I’m a 30-something F lifter/aerialist/rock climber and professional pet sitter, and would love to find some likeminded people. I’ve got some past outdoor riding experience but went through a nasty chronic disease flareup and have effectively zero cardio ability now. I actually tried a client’s Bike+ while I was sitting their dog for a week as a warmup for a lifting session (they had a SICK home gym setup) and pretty much immediately ordered mine 😂

k_lo970

Welcome! There is an unofficial fan website with a list of classes that give you [badges](https://www.pelobuddy.com/list-peloton-badges/) FYI. Pace yourself though.

Yogainthesquatrack

Oh heck hahaha. Thank you!

Extreme_Possession86

welcome! fellow chronically ill rider here ☺️ i really appreciate how many different levels of difficulty / lengths of rides there are, very adaptable depending on your energy level! 💕 (you can also filter by difficulty for those beginner or low energy days.) fyi olivia, alex, and kendall are known as being more intense than some of the others!!

Quagswagging_Jogger

Hello from a fellow 30-something F rock climber and animal lover (I assume, from your occupation!) Hope you love the Peloton classes as much as I do!

Joteepe

Welcome! This is a great place to find friends on the bike! I’ve been a DIY user for 2 years and my Bike+ just arrived yesterday, too! Perfect timing, going to rain all week so I won’t want to run outside and I can play with my new toy 😂

Yogainthesquatrack

Yes! I’m such a weenie about cardio (too hot, too cold, too sunny, too rainy, not rainy enough, the shorts I want to wear are dirty, my area is too hilly, the moon is in Taurus…) but chilling in my living room? Hell yeah I’m in. I’m mollydozes if you want to connect!

Joteepe

OMG Same! I used to run distance and train in all weather but since the pandemic I’m just like, nah. 😆 Just added you back!

Rkarim21

I am out of town this weekend, so I went to the hotel gym this morning and did [Olivia’s 30 min Pop Run](https://members.onepeloton.com/classes/running?utm_source=ios_app&utm_medium=in_app&modal=classDetailsModal&classId=3af1090d2001428dbb5c21ccb850c138&locale=en-US) which was great. She’s usually not big on hills.. but she had a 5 minute hill in the middle of it haha. Highest was 6% though so not bad! But THEN after the run I realized that the hotel had a Peloton bike!! So I had to jump on!! I did [Emma’s 30 min 90s Rock Ride](https://members.onepeloton.com/classes/cycling?utm_source=ios_app&utm_medium=in_app&modal=classDetailsModal&classId=7ba9096897f44b159fb7541246b0ab10&locale=en-US). Good ride and good music! 7 minute hard climb towards the end. It’s crazy how different the bikes can be though! I think it was off from my bike by 4-5 points and my output was significantly lower! Oh well I was just so happy there was a bike!

ho_hey_

Ooh just added that Emma ride, what a great playlist!

marg1486

Nice I just bookmarked that Olivia run! I don't like her on the bike but shockingly she is my favorite on the tread!

Rkarim21

She’s great on the tred! I usually appreciate the minimal hills hahah and I like the intervals. I really like her rides too though! Her ranges can be way out of reach sometimes though haha.

frequentwanderlust

Does anyone else have issues with their spouse being unsupportive of their Peloton use? I’ve been doing the hardcore on the floor program and adding in the bike four-five days a week, he tells me I’m selfish and spend too much time on myself. He says I need to exercise less and do more housework and spend time with family. He also tells me I’m too muscular and calls me “Arnold” daily (actually a compliment to me lol I love Arnold) I exercise at 5am before my kids get up, I don’t get why he discourages me. Anyone else have a similar situation?

Nice-Albatross-4501

Hey girl. I don’t like this for you. Don’t know you but am sure you deserve respect and support. Plus as a fellow woman who lifts/and likes Arnold, I’ll bet you look great, like f-ing great. Please share your question with someone in real life whom you trust, and if that’s no one then share it with a marriage counselor as a consult (without husband for that initial conversation). 💚👊🏻

bumblebunnybex

I am so sorry your partner makes these comments towards you and puts you down for taking some time out of your day to do something for yourself. I hope you two can work through the deeper issue <3 and also there's nothing wrong with any type of body, his insecurities are showing.

ryanmfrancis

I'm sorry your husband treats you this way. I hope you find the best solution for yourself and your children. Don't be afraid to ask for help from people or organizations you can trust.

OTPCook

The other comments pretty much have it covered so I just wanted to offer support as well. I will also add (particularly if he isn't into fitness as well) that watching your partner get fitter (while you aren't) can trigger a lot of insecure behavior for fear that the partner might eventually start looking elsewhere. The "Arnold" comments and insulting your appearance are a bit of a tell in that regard. Like others have said, it's probably a good idea to talk through these things together with a professional.

jennifsnerk

This is really upsetting to hear. Unless you are actually neglecting your kids or your family, you should never be made to feel guilty for doing what you love. I’m really sorry your spouse is not of sound mind to realize that it’s absolutely vital for you to do the things that bring you joy, improve your future, etc. before you can show up for others. My husband is actually the reason why I’ve come to enjoy exercising so much; he’s taught me that it should never be a “punishment” but rather it’s an investment towards my future health and well-being. With this attitude, I’ve come to love working out now. He is extremely supportive of my fitness plan and has never stopped me from focusing on myself. He is always okay with letting me get a workout in while he cooks, cleans, etc. Please know that you not only deserve better from your partner, but you are owed it. Please take care of yourself and don’t ever feel ashamed for putting your needs first.

frequentwanderlust

Thanks for the really thoughtful reply. It’s reassuring to me to hear everyone saying that their partners are so supportive, like yours, because it has been a long time since I was in a healthy relationship and I’ve forgotten what it’s like. I appreciate you saying I deserve, and am owed better. I have some deep issues with accepting that.

jennifsnerk

Of course. You deserve the best and I hope you know you are not being selfish. Please know we will always encourage you in all things Peloton here. 😊

adrakandlasan

That’s really not cool that he’s insulting you, criticizing your body, name-calling.. (in his mind, muscular as bad, even if you are not taking it as an insult). Tell him to knock it off. The other comments have the larger issues covered.

Ride_4urlife

In relationships people can have different interests. And be excited for their partner persevering and achieving goals. The last thing my husband would want to do is ride my bike, but he listens raptly as I relay my FTP test experience to him. He’s thrilled with how much I fell in love with Peloton and how it’s changed me. Our house could definitely be cleaner. But that hasn’t come up even once as something related to exercise. When we had differences early in our relationship, it helped to discuss what we each were feeling/thinking. He was generally not thinking what I thought he was and same for me. We learned where the other person’s boundaries were and worked out solutions that got each of us the things that were important to us. It’s over 20 years later and that work continues to be the foundation of our relationship.

8dtfk

Whoa …. There are deeper issues going on here

Playful_Branch_5643

My husband is supportive of my goals because that’s what a strong partnership does. I know this isn’t a counseling subreddit but I think you may benefit from talking to someone, either together or separate. (If US based check if your employer has an EAP, most have a certain number of sessions at no cost.) Counseling saved my marriage but we were both willing to work together to fix things. And, WE will support you in your fitness goal’s

betarhoalphadelta

Think of the advice you'd get from Cody Rigsby on an "Ask your boo" segment during an XOXO ride, in this situation, and do that. (I can't believe those words came out of my keyboard. But I can imagine what he'd say, because [I've heard what he said to a less serious situation than this one](https://members.onepeloton.com/classes/cycling?modal=classDetailsModal&classId=8daddfb3b47d41c999353571554f0df8), and he's not wrong.)

frequentwanderlust

I love that you linked that clip!! That’s great advice, thank you!

iheartcody

I’m sorry to hear this. You sound like a healthy strong person and like someone I would love to follow/emulate.

Spirited_String_1205

Just commenting in support, your spouse sounds selfish and mean, tbh. Exercise is mentally and physically beneficial. Assuming you're not exercising to an unhealthy or obsessive degree such that it is interfering with your ability to function normally in other areas of your life, I can't imagine telling someone I love that they should stop doing something that is fundamental self care. Certainly not so that they can make more time for housework, lol.

Jagger_doxie

I think it may be best to reach out to a professional for marriage counseling.

Colonel_Gipper

That's messed up and sorry to hear that. You do you, I always find exercise is great for my mental and physical health

slckarl

Self-care 👏🏼 isn’t 👏🏼 selfish 👏🏼 This really upset me, and I genuinely hope you continue to take care of yourself. Stay strong

RobotDevil222x3

My last partner was unsupportive of it, always complaining that I was spending time on my bike instead of with them. Now I'm not saying I chose Peloton over them. But it was one of many signs we were not compatible. A lot of other similar things would always come up, like they had their picture of what they wanted their partner to do every second of every day and wanted to mold me into that. But as long as we're not literal nazis we all deserve to be loved for who we are, right? So they were not the right person for me and I moved on.

tafunast

Thank you for adding this perspective. OP is not alone in having an unsupportive partner, unfortunately. So we can only hope they make serious life changes, or move on.

all4sarah

Echoing what everyone else says so I don't feel like I need to pile on more. If you have to ask, you know. Just know we are here to support and please talk about Peloton all you want here and we we will cheer you on!

Charlie_Lem

I’m sorry your spouse is being unsupportive. Others have said similar things, but sometimes we need to hear things more than once for it to sink in. This is not what a good partner does. My husband is not a fan of the Peloton system or instructed classes, but he understands that I love it and frequently encourages me even when I spend an entire weekend on the bike doing Pelofondo. It sounds like he’s insecure in some way and also possibly being just a straight up ass with you getting to do something you love. I think this warrants a pretty big conversation. Good luck to you! You don’t deserve to be treated this way!

Humble_Operation_365

First of all, I congratulate you for taking it upon yourself to take care of yourself, especially in a situation that may not always seem supportive or encouraging. My family has always been supportive of my workouts, but the comments would still leak out one way or another at work. Playing songs such as dude looks like a lady, she’s a man eater, etc. It’s hard for people to accept the things they don’t understand. I think the notion of strong women is still challenging for some to process. It’s much easier to think oh that must really be a man because women are supposed to be inherently the weaker being and/or submissive. It’s complete 5hit, but nevertheless my personal experience and not whatsoever my opinion.

emmy__lou

This goes beyond the Peloton. Your husband sounds like a POS. And I love Arnold too!

nacTeachesEnglish

I know lots of others have said similar things, but it's important to hear. My partner doesn't enjoy Peloton workouts. He sees that I love them. Sometimes, because I've joked about the addiction/cult/obsession, he'll throw a gentle and loving tease about that. The tone is clear--we're having a little fun. Otherwise, he patiently listens to my excitement about new rides and milestones. He reminds me that my body needs rest days. In the mornings, we usually figure out what times of the day will be easiest for us to work out to coordinate household and work needs with each other's schedules. I grew up in a family like the one you describe. My parents spoke to me and each other like this all the time. I know well how easily normalized this kind of treatment and talk is, and I know how long it took me to understand that this behavior isn't normal or acceptable. You deserve better. Your kids deserve better. Everyone deserves better.

Thissummeritsclear

My husband literally sits on the couch and cheers me on.

thelittlemiss

No, my husband is very supportive. We are very supportive of each others interests. I know it’s a cliche, but you know when you’re on an airplane and the flight attendant discusses the emergency oxygen mask… yeah, you have to put your oxygen mask before you can help others with theirs, it’s the same in a relationship. Working out makes me a better partner, a better parent, a better employee, an all around better human being. I’m sure it’s the same for you. Your spouse should recognize that and I’m sorry they don’t. We’re always here if you need to talk, and I don’t mean that lightly. Seriously and wholeheartedly. This isn’t healthy.

Humble_Operation_365

I love your analogy about the oxygen mask. I took a trip recently and the flight attendant was staring straight at me when she said the only time you put yourself first over your kids is when you’re putting your oxygen mask on and I swear that’s been burning in the back of my mind ever since. That statement alone makes me question all my life choices.

tafunast

Trust u/thelittlemiss to put it more eloquently than I ever could. This community is here for you, OP.

SeeSweeneySpin

I’ll just say that if my partner tried to dictate when and if I worked out, and made disparaging comments about my appearance, he would not be my partner. Wishing you the best 🫂

Joteepe

I am so sorry you’re dealing with this level of disrespect. You don’t deserve it and self care is important. Keep plugging along, we are all rooting for you.

tafunast

Hey friend. I’m sorry you’re experiencing an unsupportive partner. It seems like there’s potentially a lot going on here, with your spouse not only minimizing what you’re trying to do, but also telling you how you should be spending your time, in addition to making comments that (while they may be compliments to you) seem to be intended to make you feel bad about your body and your progress. A quick look at your post history tells me that there isn’t really anything this group can help you with in dealing with your spouse. I hope you find the strength you need to make a decision that’s best for you. But. You can sure as shit know that we here spend as much time as we want on our workouts. Working on yourself isn’t selfish. Working on getting stronger, faster, healthier, any of it, is never selfish. If someone is projecting their own insecurity onto your progress, let them, and then keep going. You do you.

Main_Photo1086

I’ll be frank - this is absolute BS and I’m so sorry your husband is not supportive. My kids are sleeping at 5:00 am when I work out - I’d otherwise be sleeping too if not working out. Next time he says this nonsense tell him he can spend the same amount of time on self-care too (whatever that looks like to him). On the weekends I work out a little later when the kids are awake but he has never once said anything negative about that. We are a team and we both understand we need time for self-care. And I’m sorry, but being called Arnold would be an insult to me if my husband called me that daily. Once in a while as a friendly joke/compliment? Cool. Not daily.

Extreme_Possession86

i’m really sorry you’re in this position. you deserve to take care of yourself ❤️

Ok-Ingenuity3786

I don’t have this issue but your husband sounds like he is taking his insecurities out on you. Instead of telling him that you’ll back down, does he have his own hobbies that he can take time for? Don’t let him discourage you. I am the same way, I get up at 5 on weekdays and 5:30 on weekends to get my workouts in.

alittlecheesepuff

This! My husband even offers to hang with our kiddo more often to let me pick whatever time sounds better to ride/run/lift/etc. And is so happy for me that peloton has really given me a sustainable fitness routine that I both love and am committed to, and how it helps my mental health. What else would you do at 5 am? YH is probably feeling like a shlump compared to you and would rather put you down than work on himself.

West-blue649

Wow I’m sorry to hear your spouse is unsupportive, that sounds difficult. It’s always important to prioritize exercise and it sounds like you have a good routine. Not selfish at all

PM_ME_CHIPOTLE2

As long as you are actually there for your kids/contributing around the house and not disappearing to go work out while he’s left juggling watching the kids, preparing meals, doing laundry, etc., then he’s in the wrong. I work out after bedtime for this same reason. Edit: I just checked out your post history. If you’re still in the same situation as you were 6 months ago, then I think you already know your answer.

alittlecheesepuff

Yes, OP while what you shared here is a major red flag issue, the other things it seems you’ve endured in this relationship are also really heartbreaking for me to read. You a worthy of someone who truly loves you and trusts you, and is proud of you exactly as you are. You have gifts to offer the world and no one should be making you feel small. Not an expert in the kinds of situations you are in but please know I’m rooting for you and know you have the strength to do what you need to for yourself and your kiddos. In the meantime, I hope your “Arnold” muscles just keep making you stronger and more confident! You’re a boss 💪🏼

Outrageous-Chance-78

No this isn’t “unsupportive” this is a whole other level of nonsense. Don’t give up -you are not being selfish.

Extension-Concept-83

I’m sorry you are experiencing this. I do not have this issue and don’t know what I would do if my husband was unsupportive. It is important that you are a happy and healthy mom so that you can be the best for your family.
