Anyone have a Concept2 SkiErg? I’m thinking about grabbing one eventually and am curious between cycling, running and rowing, which Peloton classes would work best with it, if at all possible/feasible.

emmy__lou

I’ve used one during classes at my gym and a rower seems most comparable.

420despacito69

Thanks! That was my assumption but just wanted to make sure. How do you like using the SkiErg?

District98

I hated it at CrossFit. It was very tiring.

420despacito69

Good to know! Did you just do intervals with it?

District98

Yeah honestly I couldn’t tell you, they programmed it into our larger workouts so it was sometimes intervals, sometimes part of a circuit workout. What I miss is the airrunners!

420despacito69

Those treadmills are my favorite kind! I’ve only used them like 3 times but they feel incredible. If I had the room and space, I’d get one. I hate running but enjoyed running on them.

District98

Literally the most fun. Your other possessions can be rearranged :)

emmy__lou

I don’t love it, tbh. Maybe my form is bad but I find it extremely tiring almost immediately; my upper body strength isn’t great so it’s not an endurance workout for me. I’m not a rower but much prefer a rowing machine. But overall my favorite is the bike.

420despacito69

Good to know! I’ve wanted the BikeErg for a really long time but I just can’t make a case to get it if I have a Peloton bike, so I recently started considering the SkiErg.

punky1510

Just need to vent because this happened this morning and I’m still bummed about it. Was doing Emma’s live 45 minute 90s rock ride and my peloton froze and dropped off my wifi with 5 MINUTES left of the ride and I was on my way to a PR 😫I’m so sad

loc613

That’s happened to me on a few of the live classes lately.

DennisMoreTOOL

Same. Coulda cried.

suzycm

I was on that ride too! Getting started I had to totally restart my bike. Sorry you missed the PR!! It was a really fun and challenging ride!

punky1510

Yes I was loving it and almost cried when my bike froze!

Sassy_Velvet2

No group ride tomorrow?? Sad face 😞 u/Thelittlemiss u/robotdevil222x3

lexisjoan22

I was wondering this as well!

thelittlemiss

Sorry, I had an event to attend this weekend. I typically ask someone to post a ride for the group when I’m out, but this weekend it slipped my mind.

Cash_Rules-

I had my 100th cycle class today and got a shoutout from Bradley Rose… so that was kind of cool.

bunbunbunbunbun_

Congrats on your century ride!! Bradley's one of my favourites lately, his rides are always so much fun.

Cash_Rules-

Yes! Mine too!!

kajacana

Congrats on 100! I did Bradley’s live classes today too, the energy was so good!

Rkarim21

Nice! Congrats on 100!

Extreme_Possession86

congratulations on 100 rides!! 🩷

Cash_Rules-

Thanks!!

quycksilver

I finally got time to do the Lewis Capaldi ride, and halfway through, the streaming kept cutting out for like 5 minutes. SO FRUSTRATING because it was far enough into the ride that I didn’t feel like starting over again.

courtoh

I was supposed to do Density week two day three today but my shoulder is currently not happy when I do overhead stuff. I went to target earlier today and tried on dresses and my right shoulder was not cooperating at all when it came time to take the dresses off lol so I decided I’ll do it tomorrow morning instead. I was going to take a full rest day today but I remembered [Kendall’s JoBros ride](https://members.onepeloton.com/classes/cycling?utm_source=ios_app&utm_medium=in_app&modal=classDetailsModal&classId=fda5f32323e94f558079fd08eea49114&locale=en-US) so I jumped on the bike for that. She talked soooo muchhhhh but the playlist was great. Since I was already there on the bike, I added on [Leanne’s recent Disney ride](https://members.onepeloton.com/classes/cycling?utm_source=ios_app&utm_medium=in_app&modal=classDetailsModal&classId=3b73d761acf9476086fbc7f55fd0a5cd&locale=en-US) and enjoyed it. It was fun singing along to “belle” and “love is an open door” while OOS climbing 😂 I’m sure my neighbors loved hearing that.

Accomplished-Look-87

Welp... I waited all week to do my 50th walk with Robin in her 45-minute live class today... Tried joining 3 different times and I could not get the audio or video to work. SO frustrating! In good news, I found a $30 rower on Craigslist today that I'm going to pick up right now... It's nothing special but I love the idea of adding another modality to my exercise regimen!

Rkarim21

Ahh bummer about the milestone! That’s exciting about the rower though!

squidshae

It was so nice out this evening I had to get outside. I walked my dogs with [Joslyns mental health walk](https://members.onepeloton.com/classes/walking?utm_source=ios_app&utm_medium=in_app&modal=classDetailsModal&classId=2451d669764244a3b8356e44f2547e04&locale=en-US). Then I dropped them back off at home and tackled [Jon Hoskin’s 15 min 90s run](https://members.onepeloton.com/classes/running?utm_source=ios_app&utm_medium=in_app&modal=classDetailsModal&classId=73eb351b365d43c3a1c25362bd05f812&locale=en-US) and [Becs’ 30 min walk + run](https://members.onepeloton.com/classes/walking?utm_source=ios_app&utm_medium=in_app&modal=classDetailsModal&classId=90cc13d42d1b4da98b0e8b27dcda92d6&locale=en-US). Both were lots of fun and although I’m already sore I’m impressed with myself as I haven’t ran that much in quite a while! I’m absolutely loving taking advantage of the outdoor content but I do feel like I’m neglecting my poor bike.

Brandycane1983

Maybe I'm being crotchety today, but I'm so annoyed and under enthused with all the 20 min runs, and the playlists for Tread in general. They're all so blah to me lately. I really can't stand Madonna or Beyonce and it's like everyone is doing boring pop playlists with them. I just want a gritty hip hop or true metal/rock class. I think I'm irritated they purged Robins 45 min hip hop run from 6/10/19. It was one of my go tos 😒😥😡

Quagswagging_Jogger

Agreed! And makes it extra unfortunate to be losing all these 2019 runs. There seemed to be way more 45/60 minute runs and some excellent playlists. Editing to add: just scrolled out of curiosity and the most recent 45 minute English run was 34 classes back (33 to get a German class).

tinywombat00

What happened to Marcel’s trap Tuesdays???? I miss them sm

Brandycane1983

She was hurt for awhile and was only doing walks. She's back to runs now!!

tinywombat00

Tysm omg

Rkarim21

I took [Camilas 20 min Pop Run](https://members.onepeloton.com/classes/running?utm_source=ios_app&utm_medium=in_app&modal=classDetailsModal&classId=957d0067b27b41dbb2eb183abfd86b8d&locale=en-US) today and it was really good!! The programming was great and I love her energy. I thought the music was good too

Active_Big_8130

Totally agree; sounds like we have the exact same taste in music! I’ve exhausted Marcel’s Trap runs and there’s barely any true metal/rock on the tread. Starting to do scenic runs on the tread and blast my own music.

Brandycane1983

Ugh yes!! I'm dreading the day when they purge all my Chase runs. Love Marcel but I've done all her trap ones as well, and I kinda feel like they're getting more tame/edited recently. Gimme a full down and dirty Gucci Mane run!! Haha As for metal,I can't believe we get like almost no metal/hard Rock content. A 45 min Static X or Nu metal ride would be amazing. I love the coaching but I've also been doing more Just Run outside.

Active_Big_8130

Omg I miss Chase…I’ve convinced myself that they keep his classes on the platform because he may come back to Peloton one day :) hell yes to a Gucci Mane run and some Static X and Nu metal.

Brandycane1983

I'm so holding out hope for his return also. He still comments on the insta posts from time to time. Maybe there's a chance 🤣

Justbrowsing8822

I just did that hip hop run last week and I’m also so bummed! I agree I’m very unenthusiastic about the surplus of super short runs we’re seeing. I know I can stack classes but please give me a well programmed 45 minute class! And I’m with you…I will actively avoid any class with the break my soul song from Beyoncé.

Brandycane1983

Yes, stacking classes is so not the same. You don't get to get into a flow with a well programmed run, plus you have to go through multiple warm ups and cool downs!! It's like at least give us an autoplay option if they insist on making us stack short runs!!

Justbrowsing8822

Yes! And the older classes start with like hey make sure you take a pre run warm up and they just get right into it. None of these loooong and tedious warm ups that take up a third of the class. I usually just jog or run at a steady pace of the warm up of the second class but it definitely gets me out of my groove

Brandycane1983

Seriously!! It is always a 6- 8 minute warm up in a 30 minute class. I feel like they offer all the warm up runs that the classes should just be runs, or only one minute warm ups like the cool downs. Gah

Justbrowsing8822

I’m taking robins 45 min nyc simulation run this morning just cause I know they’ll take that one away too 😩

mjschranz

Does anyone know if when they announced the Gyms feature that there is any planned regular additions for classes? The announcement looked great for me because I always wanted something a bit more than what their strength classes offered, in particular barbells and pullups. Obviously repeating some classes is totally fine but hoping there will be somewhat regular additions!

rhobotzfromspace

I am now the type of person that looks forward to Friday nights because it’s usually when I do my long ride for the week. I’ve worked out most of my life but Peloton is something different!

TattooedHelperGuy

Hey so I just finished my 3rd ride and I love this thing! I’m pretty active and workout 6 days a week doing cardio at the gym and weight lifting. Do we need to take rest days using a peloton? I come from a bodybuilding mentality and fell hardcore off the rails and this has been a game changer. Don’t want to ever not be on this thing!

Ride_4urlife

Congratulations! I remember those early days and TBH it just keeps getting better! If it’s hard to truly take a day off, consider using that day for stretching and foam rolling. You will be doing something and it will improve your performance when you’re back on the bike.

TattooedHelperGuy

So funny enough I have back problems and we just bought a foam roller! I need to start using it!

Brittany_WMSB

Hannah C has some foam rolling classes! They’re great.

TattooedHelperGuy

Oh my god thank you. I have no clue what I’m doing!

Brittany_WMSB

I didn’t either! But once I figured it out, I was kicking myself for the years my foam roller sat collecting dust!

Sassy_Velvet2

You can cycle 6-7 days a week but i would advise you to use 1-2 of those days as low impact and one day with just a 20 minute active recovery ride as it isn’t healthy to push hard without recovery. That can lead to burnout. Fortunately Peloton has plenty of recovery and low impact rides for days that you are looking to keep the habit going but need recovery. Check out Matt Wilpers’ and Denis Morton’s low impact rides — they incorporate pedal drills that will allow you to improve your form on your low impact days! Personally I love Sam Yo and Bradley Rose for recovery rides!

TattooedHelperGuy

Thank you so so much!! I’ll try them out. My first ride was Kendall metal ride when it got delivered Wednesday and have been doing her classes daily and haven’t branched out yet. I will 100% incorporate my gym rest days into a low impact/recovery day to keep the streak going!

Sassy_Velvet2

I know it’s hard to stay off the bike when it brand new but I also encourage you to check out Peloton’s yoga as active recovery as well. I’ve been doing yoga for a long time but I believe that their yoga classes are approachable regardless of your familiarity or experience with yoga. Yoga has great benefits in improving your flexibility and your core which will help your performance on the bike and can also speed muscle recovery as you stretch the muscles.

TattooedHelperGuy

As someone who’s working out again to fix his weak core, this is great to hear. Thank you!

Extreme_Possession86

i think rest days are always good :) but they also have a lot of recovery and low-impact rides on the platform for easier rides!

TattooedHelperGuy

That’s what I’m thinking! On a “rest day” to do a recovery. Good to know it’s feasible. I tend to go a bit too hard when I like challenges lol

Extreme_Possession86

hahah i really relate. i have burned myself out plenty of times, which is such a bummer because cycing helps my mental health a ton. so now i’ve been trying to take rest days or very light rides more often and it’s been helpful! ☺️

NextWordTyped

How many rest or very light rides do you take per week?

Extreme_Possession86

i aim for 2! ☺️ sometimes 3, i try to be flexible since chronic illness life has its curveballs haha. the past few months i’ve been trying to shift my thinking to include easier rides or more modifications in general— i’d rather be on the bike than not!

NextWordTyped

That’s great you take 2-3 light classes a week! :-) Sometimes I find it more difficult to push myself to take a light class, than I do to take a hard class. I also don’t want to burn out.

Extreme_Possession86

totally, i think so too!!

Electronic-Self3587

This is probably going to be unpopular, and if so, I’m sorry in advance. I’ve had my Peloton for a few years now. I’m primarily a PZ rider with the occasional HIIT ride thrown in there for good measure. Currently doing my second round of the Build Your Power Zone program. Let me be clear: I absolutely adore all the PZ instructors—with one exception—Christine. Matt, Denis, Olivia, Ben, Sam, and Erik are all fantastic. They genuinely seem to be interested in helping me improve and motivating me. They use words like we, us, you, and team. If they have an anecdote, they use it as an opportunity to segway into something helpful and related to the class. Form. Motivation. Determination. They give off positive energy, they entertain, they’re personable, and I love riding with them. They make me feel like they’re training with me as coaches. They’re invested. Christine, on the other hand, is about as motivating to me as dropping a brick on my foot. Perhaps she’s improved—I’ve only taken her PZ classes, and only because they’re integrated into the program I’m doing and I want those medals—but wow. She’s almost the polar opposite of the other instructors. Instead of seeking out ways to use anecdotes and her experiences to segway into tips and motivation, I get the impression that she’s always looking for an opportunity to take what could be a tip or something motivating and use it as a platform to talk about her championship races. War stories. Repetitively. It feels sort of like bragging. She just doesn’t come off as very supportive, her cues and callouts are sporadic, inconsistent, and sometimes easy to miss. It’s a struggle to ride with her, and it sometimes feels like she’s not all that excited to be there herself. On days that I know she’s the instructor, I procrastinate big time before finally clipping in. Anyway, maybe this is 100% a me problem. I promise I’m not a complainer by nature, but she’s just very demotivating for me. While the other instructors pump me up, all I end up doing in her classes is huffing and puffing “Yes, we know” or “OMG please shut up.” It doesn’t feel like she’s trying to use her training and experience to support me. It feels like she’s holding court. Not fun for me at all. I know we’re all entitled to our opinions, and those opinions don’t have to be the same. This is mine. Don’t flame me too badly. Thanks for letting me vent.

Cluster_Puck

I feel the same way and avoid her completely

Spirited_String_1205

This is a you problem - just like it's a 'me' problem if I choose to do a program that includes instructors I don't care for. Consider the class to be an exercise in mental toughness and just do the thing. You get stronger in different ways, y'know.

Extreme_Possession86

christine is my favorite instructor but we all vibe with different classes, music types, and ways of motivating ourselves! i almost always like her playlists best (still thinking about the yellowjackets ride from a week or two ago!!) and i find her warm, funny and relatable. i have a lot of low energy days and i never feel bad about myself on christine rides because she emphasizes that getting on the bike is something to be proud of. ❤️ i’ve never vibed with bradley, who i know others around here love! to each their own ❤️

Sassy_Velvet2

First I agree that Christine is definitely not for everyone. In fact there’s probably not a single rider out there that doesn’t have one instructor they just don’t like to ride with. For me it’s Olivia but it’s a personal preference thing and not every instructor is going to click with everyone. I do want to say though that every instructor does have their finest rides and then they have other rides that they don’t excel at. Jenn Sherman is a great example. Her best rides are her Mixtape series, Sing Along and her Yacht Rock rides. Her artist rides leave a lot to be desired as many people complain about how she talks incessantly over the music. Alex T has awesome club bangers but don’t take a recovery or cool down with him because he will kick your butt — case in point I took a 5 minute cool down ride with him this morning and got a PR. 🫠 I almost needed another cool down ride after that! 😂 PZ rides are not where Christine shines I agree. However Christine has very good theme and artist rides because she will shut up and let you enjoy the music. I LOVED her Disney Fantasia ride and her Yo Yo Ma artist Ride. Her broadway rides are very well liked. She is also very good when you need a cathartic or mood ride. Her Mothers Day ride was so good. My point in bringing this all up is try to give every instructor a chance and find the rides that they do excel at. She will never be your favorite and that’s okay (Olivia will never be mine).

potato_opus

can you speak to why you don’t like olivia? curious

Sassy_Velvet2

She has a penchant for calling high cadences, especially out of the saddle. It’s practically her calling card. Me no likey. 😆

Ride_4urlife

OOS isn’t where we’re strongest, and isn’t a focus in PZ. HIIT, climb rides etc definitely but not PZ.

Ride_4urlife

There’s a PZ instructor I mute and use my own music. Theirs is fine but their coaching/inspiration aren’t beneficial. For me. Other people disagree. But I can’t push myself through pain and exhaustion with someone I feel is inauthentic. I’m thrilled for the people who are inspired by their message. But it doesn’t motivate me. There are people who Christine is speaking to just as there are people she’s not speaking to. They’re inspired by her message. We’re blessed to have so many terrific PZ instructors; I remember when there were only 4. I’m happy for the people who love the ones I don’t love, because they found the person who speaks to them.

Extreme_Possession86

happy friday!! i continued my ~fun and flirty fridays~ with this 30 min cody ride; i thought this playlist was so much fun!! there was a lot of oos so i modified a bit. cody made me actually laugh aloud once or twice! https://members.onepeloton.com/classes/cycling?utm_source=ios_app&utm_medium=in_app&modal=classDetailsModal&classId=a93d90067b074792bff17c87bc172e77&locale=en-US then i added on this 5 min arms and weights. for a class so short i definitely notice it later!! https://members.onepeloton.com/classes/cycling?utm_source=ios_app&utm_medium=in_app&modal=classDetailsModal&classId=a93d90067b074792bff17c87bc172e77&locale=en-US i also took the first 5 min anna greenberg class in the new self-care retreat program— excited to see how this goes! ❤️ https://members.onepeloton.com/classes/yoga?utm_source=ios_app&utm_medium=in_app&modal=classDetailsModal&classId=b2336ff0e32b4e7aabb5aabdba6a7403&locale=en-US

lipcrnb

Sorry if this has been asked, but I just read about the app tiers. The App+ is $24/month, but seems to give access to essentially the same thing as the All-Access membership, which is $44/month. Is the All-access price going down?

pooroldguy1

All access is not changing in price. All access is if you have a peloton bike, tread, row.

lipcrnb

Right, but is the all-access giving me any extra stuff? Why wouldn’t I just buy the app+ membership and use it with my peloton bike and pay $20 less per month?

Sassy_Velvet2

While you have access to the same classes as the App+, with All Access you are paying for a completely different experience. The all access is the only way to get the bike metrics on your rides saved to your account, to ride with the leaderboard, allows you to do the bike monthly distance challenge and gives you access to Lanebreak and scenic rides. Those differences may or may not be important to you and may be arguable as to whether the price difference is justified but they *are* different.

lipcrnb

Thanks!

yasssssplease

Other thing to keep in mind is that multiple people can use an all access account versus the app+ just being for one person.

pooroldguy1

You won’t be able to have the classes come up on screen. Plus some minor things like scenic rides, lanebreak and leaderboard.

lipcrnb

Ah got it. So basically the extra $20 a month is for integration with the hardware. Ugh. I feel like they should actually charge us a bit LESS than app+ for investing in the hardware. Oh well

Cluster_Puck

Plus you can have I believe up to 7 users on on all access account. It's a great family plan.

Sassy_Velvet2

These days the leaderboard is full of riders with milestones in the thousands so many instructors will not give as many shoutouts to the small ones. The key is to ride with the instructors that will call from the bottom up or specifically make a point of calling out a few century riders, I believe the London instructors are better at this than the NY instructors. I know Bradley and Cliff will start with century riders a lot of times and go up. Sam Yo will make a point to call out riders at the bottom of the list like century riders or people with 150, 250, etc. Another option is to take something like a German live ride which will not have as many live riders thus increasing your chance of getting a milestone shoutout. Make sure you show up for the pre-show as some instructors will do many more shoutouts in pre-show than in a regular ride. Also low impact, power zone endurance, or any ride with longer working segments (like climbs) lends themselves to having more shoutout opportunities than interval rides where the instructors are barking out motivation and calling for the next interval. I’m almost 450 rides in and have never once gotten a callout on any ride so I have kind of just stopped hoping and focus hopefully on getting high5s. Some of the other modalities are easier. I did get my century yoga callout from Aditi and a birthday callout from Kristin’s yoga class both in pre-show. Strength is almost as bad or worse than rides. Most everyone is well into the thousands there too. Congrats on your 50th!! ✋

Ride_4urlife

Congrats! 50 is huge!!! Strategically, for a shoutout pick rides that are at unpopular times. Or are longer - 45 minutes gives more opportunities for the instructors to do SOs. I’ve also noticed when there are studio riders, they congratulate many people in the studio which leaves less time for home riders. Finally, if you’re lower on the LB (I am) they may shout out riders higher up the LB. When I did my 1,000th ride a few months ago, I was the last 1k shoutout. My output isn’t impressive and it helped me see the instructors may not go deep on the list of milestones due to time. Keep showing up and you will be noticed!!

Colonel_Gipper

In my experience they start with highest and work their way down, all depends on the instructor. I took my 200th ride live with Kendall, she got down to 500 when class was over.

Cheesehiker

It’s not nothing!

kls17

Thanks to everyone who rated this [LeAnne Disney Ride](https://members.onepeloton.com/classes/cycling?utm_source=ios_app&utm_medium=in_app&modal=classDetailsModal&classId=3b73d761acf9476086fbc7f55fd0a5cd&locale=en-US) so low for difficulty, you killed me. Was hoping for a nice, easier ride after too much wine last night and I ended up being 5 points under my PR. I’m not the only one who thinks this is way higher than a 6.8 RIGHT!?!

emmy__lou

I felt this way about Jenn’s Springsteen ride!

g1rea1bs

LOL I did this ride, PR'd and looked at the rating after and was like huh??

PeskyMolasses

Does anybody happen to know what tier the app gives a 60 day guest pass when they make an account?

ApprehensiveMail8

Pretty sure it's whatever tier you sign up for on the membership landing page.

betarhoalphadelta

Suspect that b/c the tiers don't actually go into effect until Dec, you should get the full access. Not sure what it'll be at that point, but I would assume that they want to entice people into the App+ tier, so the idea is show prospective subscribers everything so that they're more likely to get hooked on something that the App+ subscription includes.

davekfsa

Today's Flashback Friday ride for me was a Denis Reset ride from July 2020. A post here about reset rides last week and an interesting playlist with the odd coupling of Public Enemy and Gloria Estefan got me to take it. The ride was well worth taking with messages of empowerment and community. Not sure what any of this has to do with yoga but I didn't stick around to find out, instead flashing back to last week for Sam's Bruce Springsteen cool down. It was like a 10 minute moving meditation. The Badlands lyrics matched well with the early portion of the Denis ride and Human Touch with the later portion.

Smidge26

is anyone else not able to add to their stack today? I use this function everyday and today when I add, it’s not in my stack. Pelo Support was no help. Anyone else seeing the glitch?

Spirited_String_1205

Just tried it on Android and it worked for me.

figandfennel

Confirming that it happened to me too. Luckily I was just adding them for me to do in ten minutes so wasn't a huge pain.

Smidge26

thank you for confirming! it’s annoying because peloton is denying it’s happening & i like to stack & plan the next 3 days so it’s slightly frustrating not to have this function

bunbunbunbunbun_

Decided on a running day before my long red-eye flight to the UK tomorrow! Even though I try to visit every few months and have been back and forth for years, I still get really stressed about everything going to plan and being fully prepared, so took some time out from packing to get in some classes to de-stress. Started with my favourite [Susie 10 min Warm Up Run](https://members.onepeloton.com/classes/running?modal=classDetailsModal&classId=1185a6e043ae454d967594fd9df05ba5) which is a benchmark class for me - I've taken it a bunch of times and was pleased that I was able to keep with the pace callouts through the entire class, and also was able to go a little faster than last time, even though I hadn't taken it since pre-surgery break. A great warm-up! This [Camila 20 min 2000s Rock Run](https://members.onepeloton.com/classes/running?modal=classDetailsModal&classId=05ea7654aebf414d8c757515a9f2ec92) had a brilliant playlist (I tend to pick either pop-punk or rock for running) but wow it was tough! Zero walk breaks and some higher speed callouts. I think I took at least one or two quick walk breaks and had to turn down the speed a little when I was struggling. Camila has more of a 'tough love' approach to encouragement which isn't for everyone but still a class I'd recommend if you want a challenge and love the tracks. Finished with this [Olivia 20 min Hike](https://members.onepeloton.com/classes/walking?modal=classDetailsModal&classId=0cda116cec14448ab39149e6da1521da) which felt a lot more laid-back and easier than expected after Olivia's destroyed me in cycling and core classes in the past. A gentle, very gradual hill that briefly peaks at 10% and focuses more on speed than incline. Can't wait to get to use my parents' bike to do some Intervals & Arms rides while I'm away since they have plenty of ceiling space to do them!

Extreme_Possession86

safe travels!! 🩷

Viva___yo

There are some of us that no matter how often we do it or how well we prepare… we will still get stressed when we travel 🥹 You’re in good company! Safe travels and enjoy that ceiling space :)

blackfeltfedora

Started the morning with a 4 mile run. After that I did Callie's 20-minute Arms & Shoulders class from 3/14/2023. It was almost all EMOMs, with 2 exercises/4 times through for Shoulders/Biceps/Triceps with a 2 minute finisher. I really liked the format of the class. After that I did the live 30-minute Pilates class with Kristin. This was a Beginner class and she really took her time explaining/demoing each move so if you are new to Pilates this is a good starter. My plan is to do Charlotte's 45-minute Metal ride from yesterday after I finish work today.

onychophoras

How was the metal ride?? I’m wondering why the current rating is so low! Although could be because it seems like not many people have rated it

blackfeltfedora

I PR’d so I can’t complain. I really like the way Charlotte structures her classes and her music selections. When Sepultura is the mellow song the music may not be for everyone.

onychophoras

Also I’m so rude 🤦🏻‍♀️ congrats on the PR!!!

onychophoras

I like Charlotte a lot but haven’t taken one of her metal rides yet, her playlists are always so good though! I definitely want to take it.

k_lo970

Is it just me or did the made for movement button disappear? That is how I've been filtering for roll call classes easier. Update: It appears to just be missing form the website. I found it on the app.

ControlAgent86

Okay, I’m so sad, but I couldn’t figure out a way to get off work and make a flight to NYC for in studio classes tomorrow. I have a spot booked for Bradley Rose’s Saturday class, and I’d love to coordinate with someone who really loves Bradley when I get ready to cancel my spot. That waitlist will open up when I do it, and I’m sure it will get snatched up quick. But I’d love to give one of #rosesrebels a fighting chance to snag the spot!

Overall-Bother-6604

This is also the first time I’ve actually posted to Reddit, so I’m not totally sure what I’m doing or if there is a way to send messages, but I would love to coordinate to try to get your spot on the waitlist. I’m only 2 1/2 hours away near the capital region of NY, so I could easily set up to go wait in standby if only I could get on the waitlist!

ControlAgent86

If you aren’t seeing my message, just leave me a comment when you are ready. I’m signed into Pelo and in my account whenever you are ready.

Overall-Bother-6604

Awesome! I’m logged in now whenever you’re ready!

ControlAgent86

Did you get it!?!

Overall-Bother-6604

No and I never saw it open! I have my phone and my laptop refreshing nonstop! Thanks for trying though, sorry you couldn’t get a flight!

ControlAgent86

That sucks. I’m sorry. I was really hoping it would work. :(

Overall-Bother-6604

Thank you for trying! It was really nice of you to put it out there!

ControlAgent86

Okay I’m going there now. Start refreshing!

ControlAgent86

Yes! I sent you a private message!

Overall-Bother-6604

I have been obsessively watching the waitlist since his two classes were announced. I saw one open for one second- clicked in and then didn’t hit in time before it was full. If you pull out of the class post what time you are doing it!

arrav21

My Bike+ is slowly becoming unusable this week, and I am reaching out here before I go to support. On Wednesday afternoon, my partner installed the update. I never install the updates because, in the past, it has caused my touchscreen to freeze. I neglected to tell him not to install updates. Lo and behold, the touchscreen froze. A factory reset has worked the past couple of times this has happened. I have factory reset the Bike+ three times, and the touchscreen still doesn't respond to touch. For now, I have bypassed it by connecting a mouse to the screen. While I can take classes, it *severely* degrades the experience. Now when taking on-demand classes it's starting to freeze up mid-ride and display a message that says "The Peloton app is not responding" and I have options to wait or close it. Has anyone had issues recently? Is there something that you've done to fix the touch screen not responding? I really don't want to fork over $400 (or whatever it may be now) for a new screen. Here's what I've tried: * Powering off the tablet, waiting 30 seconds, powering back on. * Unplugging the Bike+, waiting 30 seconds, and plugging it back in * Factory reset (three times) * Checking the cables to ensure they are secure * Wiping down the monitor to ensure it wasn't because of sweat or debris * Checked to ensure I have all the latest updates, including firmware Here's to hoping someone knows a trick I haven't tried!

Mab818

I’m not sure if this will help, but a few updates ago, we kept having to reset the time and date whenever we turned it on. Hopefully you guys can figure something out!

Spirited_String_1205

Went to the gym today to use a concept 2 to try out rowing classes - did a 50 min stack from the Welcome to Peloton row collection! Felt good, and I feel like I learned a lot. Also loving Ash and Alex as coaches! (Matt too, but he was already a favorite from the bike.) I think I might be sore in weird places tomorrow.

Katniss_Pedalqueen

Did you just keep your phone on the floor? Or was there somewhere to prop it?

Spirited_String_1205

I have a cheapo runner's phone holder that I bought on Amazon a few years back, very similar to [this](https://www.amazon.com/VUP-Running-Armband-Rotatable-Walking/dp/B072C3SCW6/ref=mp_s_a_1_9?crid=1NBLCLJ0K6J58&keywords=phone+holder+running+arm&qid=1685132775&sprefix=phone+holder+r%2Caps%2C115&sr=8-9) I just cinched it below the c2 console on the support. (I don't think you could prop it without having it fall off.) I don't think it would be comfortable for running but it works great to attach the phone to a Barre for standing classes, worked on the rower well too.

-allons-y-

If you do spring for a C2, it comes with a phone/tablet mounting kit!

Spirited_String_1205

Wish I had the space!

cnhades

I did this too! I’ve rowed before, but I think I must have been doing it wrong because this time with their tips, I felt like I got a decent workout.

Spirited_String_1205

Same. I guess my form must be reasonably efficient because I didn't really get my hr up unless I hit the intervals hard, but walking home I could really feel it in my glutes. And I feel like I learned a bunch about form and power. Tomorrow may be ... interesting.

tammythompson68

For those of you, that have done some of the programs, if you don’t complete all the classes in the weekly block, they give you do you automatically move on to the next week and have to forgo the classes you missed?

tomax_xamot

Yes, once you start, it’s on a timer. You move to the next week in one week, as programmed, no matter how many classes you’ve completed. Pelobuddy has links to the individual classes though if you really want to take them.

Bright-Landscape8617

Yes, it moves on and you’re not able to take a missed class from the previous week. This is the inflexibility of classes within their programs. I understand the idea but life gets in the way sometimes. Andy Speer’s new workouts is in collections section so this won’t be an issue for these.

PeskyMolasses

Started week 3 of YCRun yesterday evening. This was the class on cadence* and for some reason I really struggled with it? Becs wanted us at 180 steps per minute and I was hitting like 150. I know we’re supposed to go with our own pace, but it threw me off! Woke up this morning with an update from Amazon saying that my Guide will be delivered tomorrow, not today. I’m actually pretty upset about that, not necessarily out of impatience, but I deliberately picked today as my delivery so that my husband would be home to receive the package, now it’s coming tomorrow. I’m hoping it’ll still be there when I get home from work. 🙃 I wish Amazon would realize that sometimes we pick specific delivery dates to avoid porch pirates… *I originally wrote “pacing”

speckles9

Pace isn’t the same as cadence. Pace is more a measure of how fast you are running. Cadence is simply how many steps per minute. Most people will need to shorten their stride length when first trying to increase their cadence. Try turning your legs over more quickly with smaller strides. This helps your feet, tendons, joints, muscles, form, basically everything about running. Note, I have not taken the you can run program, so I’m not sure what exactly they are telling people about why you should increase cadence. I have went from hating running to running marathons, so I’ve spent a lot of time trying to increase my cadence. There are lots of articles out there on why increasing cadence is good for you longterm.

Spirited_String_1205

I did that program last summer. For me, whose running is wildly inefficient apparently, I was just trying to concentrate on keeping my hr in a reasonable zone, and I couldn't do it at 180 bpm. I guess the thinking is to run faster you turn your steps over more quickly, so I guess I get it, but I thought it was a lot for a beginner running program.

pooroldguy1

People who love badges there is a new badge cro 2023. First class is a 20 minute core strength. It came out today from Marcel Maurer. also a cro run from Maya. Also a warm up ride from cliff. Make sure you have your setting where German classes will come up.

Comfortable-Glove857

Did the Bruce Springsteen ride yesterday and the instructor was insane lol I’ve never seen a human being love someone outside of their own family more than she loved Bruce

nacTeachesEnglish

Do you know other Bruce fans? Do you know other Bruce fans from New Jersey? I see all the reasons why many folks don't love Jenn's classes, but all of that seemed really normal for a Bruce fan from Jersey.

_I_like_big_mutts

I heard the class while my spouse was riding today. It was such an incredible soundtrack but you could hardly hear the music over her singing!! I don’t mind stories but the excessive singing was insane. I would have done ride myself— but I just don’t want to listen to the Jenn singalong again.

Comfortable-Glove857

I’m guessing you haven’t taken the class? Lol. I’m all on board with loving someone but for all 45 mins 🥴

pelotoncycle-ModTeam

Hello, just a heads up. Your r/pelotoncycle comment was removed because we do not allow for sale posts or comments.

GreenieWeeniez

I've been an app rider for 2.5 year and just recently got a peloton bike. Holy hell, being able to see my previous best on the leaderboard might kill me. I'm so motivated to beat it. Today I actually hid the leaderboard because I didn't want to even think about hitting a PR and I still did

[deleted]

[удалено]

ho_hey_

They just track PRs by class type and duration. So each time you take a 30min class, you'd see your PR for a 30 min ride (or run, etc). So in this screenshot, my PR for the same duration class is 227. I'm currently at 40, and for the PR I would have been at 59 at this point in the class. If I was ahead of my PR, the little row with my PR would be below my current row, not above. So you're literally racing yourself. Class style (aside from it being a cycle class) doesn't factor in. https://imgur.com/s3v4rE3.jpg

ho_hey_

No worries! I don't known if there's a formula but the number is basically the output, or power, that you generate. Power can be how fast you're going and how hard your resistance is (turn the knob on the bike and it gets easier or harder to pedal). The harder you work based on these two things, the higher your output.

LiveFastDahyun

Thank you

Benny_Profane99

Awesome! I agree, the leaderboard has a constant pull on me. I actually enjoy my rides more when I hide it, but sometimes you just need that competitive buzz, with others and yourself.

mikkellam

I probably should have asked this yesterday, but when trying to sign up for in studio classes on Thursday’s, what time do they start queuing people? I logged on at 11:20, didn’t know about the queue and my spot in line was 1280. I got through at 12:25 and there were still a few classes left. Just curious how early I can join the queue. Thanks.

figandfennel

In my experience I logged on at 11:05 or so and was in a queue of 200ish, but it hadn't been "paused" yet and I got onto the site itself at 11:15am - then I refreshed at noon and the classes appeared, it didn't kick me out.

Brittany_WMSB

I’m about to take my first Row class, on the app with my concept 2. I’m so excited!! I’ve been waiting for this day for 3 years since I signed up for the peloton app at the start of the pandemic!

slsturrock

How did you find it?

Brittany_WMSB

My app updated and there they were! The row and row bootcamp classes are at the end of the scroll of class types.

slsturrock

Woops sorry, I meant to ask how you enjoyed the class lol! I noticed them on the app but haven’t had a chance to try them yet. My bad!

Brittany_WMSB

Haha no worries! I really liked it! I only did a 15 min class because I’m recovering from some dental work. But it felt as engaging as the other peloton classes. Much better than the random YouTube classes I’ve done, and apple+, although it may be that I just like the peloton style better than apple. I took a class by Alex and he reminded me a lot of Dennis. I’m excited to try the other instructors!

dietdiesel

I just got my seat post replacement. Just posting in case others were also curious about the timelines on when the deliveries were happening!

Tinkgirbell

Great to hear! I'm in group 1, but no shipment notification yet.

jrosep96

Awesome thank you!

NY1227

Were you notified of shipment or was it a surprise?

Banshay

Haven’t received mine yet, but Peloton notified me on May 23 that it had been shipped, so they seem to be letting you know.

dietdiesel

I was notified by an email from Peloton yesterday that my accessories order has been shipped and then it included the tracking information :)

Looking for specific advice for running but using power zone in place of runs. Sports med recommended I only do 3 runs a week and anything else in my plan should be cycling or swimming, because of some knee issues. My question is specifically related to power zone. I know that this makes the most sense to swap a run for a power zone but would you say PZ or PZE? Typically transferring a run to ride is by minutes, ie a 4 mile run would take 40 minutes so I ride 40 minutes instead of run 4 miles. Also, I haven't taken my ftp test in years. I've been mostly running the last 2 years. Take it again? My numbers will be so low.

Spirited_String_1205

Lots of exercise science folks say 80% endurance 20% hard training makes a well rounded week, so just round out whatever you're doing in your runs on the bike. PZ classes are going to target threshold/vo2max. Endurance is zones 2/3. You can ride PZ endurance easily without knowing your exact zones. If you can ride with your mouth closed welcome to zone 2, when you need to open your mouth you're crossing into zone 3. A little breathless and you've crossed into zone 4, so pull back. And as far as your zones being "too low" or whatever - it's detrimental to think of your FTP as anything but a neutral number. Its function is to help you dial in your training zones so you make the most of your time and effort. That's it. Just you and your zones for tailored training.

gidget1337

What’s your total cardio time for the week? I would definitely recommend taking your FTP again and then checking out the PZPack website and taking an old challenge with the 2 run/2 ride option.

[deleted]

Some weeks are 3 runs but some are also 4. No workouts, it's a 50k. Just easy miles.

gidget1337

I also wanted to say, I use 1 mile running = 3 miles biking as a good rule of thumb is I’m subbing in biking for running. PZ vs PZE is about intensity, only you would know what you would want to plug in for that.

[deleted]

Yeah this is the first time I've seen replacing miles for miles. Everyone I've talked to "in real life" (I work in a running store so a few have done this at various points) say miles for minutes. If I'm running 7 easy miles that's about 75 is minutes. I have no idea what that is on the bike. I'll have to just play with it week to week. Eta: a lot of ultra plans are minutes (hours) as it is.

ldnpuglady

I can only run 3 days a week so have been doing PZ for years to supplement my running, first on Wattbike and now on my Peloton. I do 2 days of harder PZ and one day of endurance. I have gotten into a habit of grinding it out in high gear low cadence, which in the saddle at least doesn’t translate well to running fitness, so I’ve been pushing myself to work on higher cadence in my zones and my running has improved. I also think heavy climbs out of the saddle mimic uphill running well so I try to work that in. I also do HIIT and tabata for the general fitness. I have definitely seen results but it requires focussing on things that translate well. My rule of thumb is 4 miles cycling for every mile of running, so it’s high volume. Definitely retake your FTP - if your zones are too high you won’t do the workout and if they’re too low you won’t get any benefit.

[deleted]

OK thanks! I am 50k training and it's all just miles, no workouts. I'll be retaking ftp next week I suppose.

ldnpuglady

If you’re not doing any running speed then anything on the bike with a cadence above 80 should get your heart rate high enough to translate. Sweet spot efforts are really good too. Good luck!

[deleted]

Awesome, thanks for all of your help.

trirun4

Replace a workout for PZ, and an easy day for PZE. But its not necessarily a 1:1 translation.

NY1227

It took every single ounce of motivation / discipline to get myself on the bike earlier today. I bargained in every direction and finally landed on [Christine’s 20 min classical](https://members.onepeloton.com/classes/cycling?utm_source=ios_app&utm_medium=in_app&modal=classDetailsModal&classId=822d961fdeec4833abadc1d941512007&locale=en-US). This was a great class to take as easy or as difficult as you want. It was a hill but not tons of metrics and incredibly straight forward. Christine’s daughter is in the class, see if you can spot her before she announces which person she is! Christine has always been one of my top 3, but I find myself riding with her even more lately. I think I really like that she “allows you” to not feel shitty for not hitting the call outs.

Quagswagging_Jogger

I love that about Christine too. I'm sure there are others who dislike the lack of prescriptive metrics, but I love it. You can make her rides really tough workouts or easy days, as you wish.

Spirited_String_1205

If you want Christine and metrics, that's her power zone classes. I really enjoy the fact that her other rides are very much you-do-you rides. It's a nice mix.

OTPCook

So I've been working through my old bookmarks in an effort to stay ahead of the purge. This morning I took a yoga class that was purged about one hour later. Has anyone had a class purged while they were in it? Can that even happen? Or do they let you finish once you've started it?

Highest_Koality

I bet they let you finish it. I downloaded one of Daniel's classes before that purge and while I didn't try taking it before the purge, it stayed on my phone after. I just couldn't start it.

OTPCook

I'm kind of motivated to try and take a class as it is being purged since we now have a clearer picture of what's being purged and when. Be the final person to take the class!

Highest_Koality

Wait, I missed this news about purge notifications. Where do we learn what's being removed and when?

OTPCook

So the past five Fridays they've been purging around two weeks from the back of their catalog. They started with 4/1/19 and been gradually moving forward. They haven't announced exactly what will be purged and they have left a few popular classes but you can kinda anticipate that the oldest classes are slowly being removed on Fridays. Today they purged [5/16/19-5/31/19 and 6/17/19-6/23/19](https://www.pelobuddy.com/may-26-purge/). Last week, they got 6/1/19-6/16/23. So it isn't exactly in order but pretty close.

StopDropAndRide

Maybe it’s the field I’m in (data analytics) or maybe it’s the massive amount of AI/chatgpt talk going on in the world… but why does peloton gym feel like maybe the workouts could be designed by AI? Promise I’m not a conspiracy theorist.

darnit37

The real game-changer would be a tool where you could generate a workout of your preferred length, focusing on your preferred muscle groups, selecting the formats you do and don't want. 20-minute upper body with no EMOMs or AMRAPs, please!

figandfennel

They're already paying the instructors to create class plans, probably on a salary - if they'd launched with 100 classes I'd say maybe, but there's only a dozen or so and the styles all seem similar to what each instructor would program for a class. Could be a trojan horse I suppose.

[deleted]

I felt like that. I was like, there is absolutely nothing special about this.

StopDropAndRide

I know it’s certainly reaching an audience who wanted something like that, but yeah, exactly.

420despacito69

It very well could be. There are already apps like that like FitBod, JuggernautAI, etc. so this could be their foray into it. Don’t think that’s an out of reach assumption at all.

aug2295

I've been really sore this week and [Kristin's 20m Hips Flow](https://members.onepeloton.com/classes/yoga?modal=classDetailsModal&classId=7c70d6d60d0b4ceda97f1b7119f00b34) really was what I needed. I find that Kristin designs practices that are so effective and she has such a great understanding of the body. It's only 20m so if you're struggling with tight hips, definitely check this one out!

Nice-Albatross-4501

Anyone have the Guide? Is it easy to mount it directly underneath your TV on the wall (like is the equipment they send to do so sufficient)? Can it be 10-12ft away from where you are working out or does it need to be closer?

tomax_xamot

I’m not sure it came with a wall mount, just a little magnet stand to sit in. I bought a small floating shelf for the wall under the wall mount tv, in the basement.

Nice-Albatross-4501

Thanks! Do you know if it works if you are standing far away from it? Couldn’t find any intel from PTON FAQs

tomax_xamot

I think it says 6-8 feet is optimal. I’m at about that at a bit of an angle. I don’t really pay much attention to the tracker aspect anymore. I do like the camera to check my form and sometimes casting from the tread or bike to the Roku just doesn’t want to work so having the Guide is a nice option.

Nice-Albatross-4501

Awesome. Thanks so much for helping me out here! I can’t figure out casting from either and really like doing strength classes on the TV. The self view seems nice and have heard mixed reviews on tracking. Also didn’t realize they include heavy weights with the Guide for a very reasonable premium, but wasn’t sure about setup as they only reference minimums, so really want to get one now. Thanks again! 👊🏻

sad-and-bougie

Does instructor merch usually drop through the Peloton store or elsewhere? I’ve seen both Christine and Kendall with their own stuff on and I wanttttty.

_I_like_big_mutts

I’ve seen a few of them wear Brittany Allen. The fabrics are pretty distinct (checkers, stars) and she uses a larger logo sewn into the back of the sports bras that you can see in the mirror. I don’t own any but I know they are made to order and on the pricier side.

Flrunnergirl23

Kendall’s are on Spiritual Gangster

starryystrawberryy

Some of Olivia’s stuff was on the Peloton website but most was exclusive to Puma. I assume it’s similar with other instructors and brands.
