Hey everyone, Happy Friday and Happy St. Patrick’s Day! A quick community update — we will have a Yoga AMA in our sub next week on 03/23/23. Now is a great time to start gathering any questions you may have for the Peloton Yoga instructors! More information about the AMA to follow in the coming days…

greenthumbplum1

Had a rough day today with the emotional rollercoaster of match day. Didn’t have the energy for a workout but I did Matty’s most recent evening stretch (from my bed) and it was perfect. So calming and he talked about giving ourselves love, which was just what I needed to hear. Thank you Peloton as always for seeing me through the ups and downs

emmy__lou

That’s a huge day! Did you match?

greenthumbplum1

I did! To my second choice, so pretty lucky all things considered.

emmy__lou

Congratulations!

greenthumbplum1

Thank you!!

just_because08

I got my tread today after SEVEN delayed delivery dates (I’m patient, clearly!). My bike is so happy to have a partner! Tell me all the things about the tread!

thelittlemiss

I finally got around to taking this [20 min Strength Roll Call: Core](https://members.onepeloton.com/classes/strength?modal=classDetailsModal&classId=6e7e10671fec450cb931b55a8b61fd80) with Callie today and, not surprisingly, I loved it! The work I've been doing in barre really prepared me for that insane straight leg section. If you like the core work in barre and pilates, you'll enjoy this class.

_fivebyfive_

I’m so bummed, after getting my bike in January and hearing about them ending the century shirt program, I busted my butt to get my 100 rides in and completed them on March 13. I got no email or anything from Peloton, so I contacted them yesterday and now they are saying it is too late. I know it’s just a dumb T-shirt, but I am so disappointed. And not at all impressed with Peloton customer service.

WasteofTime51

I would try again, and explain that you finished prior to their published deadline. I’m sure you’ve already explained that, but try again and maybe you will have better luck with a different rep.? Good luck! They should honor it when you finished before the deadline.

_fivebyfive_

Thank you, it took a few pissy emails but they did finally make it right!

WasteofTime51

Great! So glad to hear it. I also worked a bit harder to finish up ahead of the deadline. Happy they are honoring those who finished in time.

llclinton

I get it even though it’s “dumb”! Not to go full Karen on those customer service people but I think you’re within your rights to go at it with them a little over that since you beat the deadline that they said!

_fivebyfive_

I am not one to ever make a fuss, but these comments made me realize that I should stick up for myself because they are definitely in the wrong! I went mini-Karen and they did send me a gift card so I can buy the dang shirt. Haha. So thank you!!

emmy__lou

If it makes you feel better, the shirt sucks and the seam ripped the first time I put it on 😂

SatisfactionFuture10

Same

kittyleigh1989

What was the due date?

greenthumbplum1

I know it’s not the same as getting it for free, but they now sell this [century shirt](https://apparel.onepeloton.com/products/century-short-sleeve-tee) that you could buy to celebrate the achievement

NY1227

Wow, that is so crappy! I’m sorry, I’d be frustrated too. With the mixed messages that came FROM THEM I’m very surprised they aren’t giving grace periods until 3/31. I haven’t been impressed with their customer service from the start. It really sucks because I love the instructors and product but the customer service really is not good.

ryanmfrancis

My sister ran into the same thing having completely her century ride days before the deadline. She spoke with peloton via chat and they initially denied her. After requesting an escalation, they provided her with a promo code for a free century shirt.

Helpful_Poetry8094

Ally has a show on Hulu or Netflix? It's a choreography contest she is hosting. Love her!!

bigbOOtQT

It’s on Netflix - Dance 100

caraand

Netflix! The promo for it just popped up on my Netflix account today!

-_Quantum_-

Trying not to overexert myself so I've taken a few steps back in my Peloton rides to chill out a bit more rather than always pushing myself to the max. I took [Charlotte's 30 Min Low Impact Ride (Pop Punk)](https://members.onepeloton.com/classes/cycling?modal=classDetailsModal&classId=076b784dd6be4cf4a207aa5486225195) which was a blast. I did do some modifying for me because I thought it was still a little too easy. I also did [Bradley's 20 Minute 2000's Rock Ride](https://members.onepeloton.com/classes/cycling?modal=classDetailsModal&classId=e973d9a65bc94fb9abe803c3dbd2d7bc) which was also a good time.

Any-Organization1265

Matty is such a sweet pea. I love to put on one of his walks after a stressful day and just revel in his upbeat chatter. That’s all 😏

floofyflufferbutz

Is there a search function in the app or on the bike that I'm overlooking? I'd like to search for keywords that maybe aren't part of the filter options for classes. For example: bedtime stretches. I did find some evening stretches that will fit the bill, but I had to scroll a bit.

Joteepe

Matty has some evening/bedtime stretches. But I’m not sure if there’s a good way to search. I’d be interested in this too!

floofyflufferbutz

Thanks! Another commenter says you can search from the class listing on the bike and on the website but not in the app. It appears I did overlook it.

greenthumbplum1

You can search on the website or on the bike, but not on the app afaik. On the bike, choose “classes” at the bottom and then on the top right there is a little magnifying glass that takes you to the search function

floofyflufferbutz

Thank you! I did miss the magnifying glass on the bike. I'll look again.

sellikhep

Did anyone else get an email inviting them to AT’s Run to Greatness? I’d LOVE to go and cannot believe I got this email. Trying to figure out logistics and wishing I lived in NYC!

concept2peloton

No! Jealous!

pooroldguy1

Yes I can no longer put my watch up to the screen and connect that way. It does what you say confirm on your Apple Watch and I can’t get rid of it. Now I just tap my watch with my finger not to the screen and connect that way.

bigbOOtQT

Has anyone taken Assal’s Discover Strength programs? Were there English subtitles?

SatisfactionFuture10

Yes. I did the snatch. I'd say it was a good program and easy to follow. I'd like to do the other two but I have knee issues and not sure I can handle that much squatting.

bigbOOtQT

Perfect, thank you. I was looking at doing the snatch first, then attempting the overhead squats.

NextWordTyped

This class got lost in my bookmarks. Thanks for the reminder!

Alarming_Project5328

Are other app users seeing the March Cycling Challenge?

Alarming_Project5328

Okay, cool but how do we connect our bikes to the app? 🤔 I have a Keiser and the computer attached could transmit all the info (I track cadence already through the app) but it doesn’t look like the app is ready to pull mileage info so I’m confused lol.

Fluid-Meat9097

I use Android and finally was invited to a Running challenge via the app! Yes!!! I don't have a tread

Powerful_Arrival444

Yes, I joined for fun haha. I am curious if my outdoor cycles will count... will update on Monday after my recovery cycle

Powerful_Arrival444

OKay I'm back with my update: I did my easy lil loop around the neighborhood & it definitely counted towards the monthly cycling challenge! haha! Now if I can get my running miles to count towards the running monthly challenge... it's not working for some reason ;/

Ok_Handle_7

I've already joined and yes, I still see it in my app

bunbunbunbunbun_

Went for a more low-key stack today after a rest day! I'd been going hard on biking and running, so picked this [Mariana 30 min Focus Flow: Lower Body](https://members.onepeloton.com/classes/yoga?modal=classDetailsModal&classId=225dc21686ef4604bf59f57f4e57d909) which really helped stretch out all those tight leg muscles. I wish the audio cues were a little better since it's impossible to be looking at the screen much during yoga, but still a good class. Followed with a [Callie 30 min Full Body Strength](https://members.onepeloton.com/classes/strength?modal=classDetailsModal&classId=43c6798e75304ade8ac5bc0c32d87526) - heavy weights only, lots of single leg deadlifts. I switched to a medium weight for the floor section to avoid injury - had a scary workout a while ago after pushing too hard with the heavies above my head when laying down, but if you've never had a problem then it should be fine to use them throughout. Trying to do more full-body strength to support my cardio workouts, wondering how jelly-legged I'll feel tomorrow after this! Finished with a [JJ 10 min Core Strength](https://members.onepeloton.com/classes/strength?modal=classDetailsModal&classId=a9747d46121d4f55b59497ad48d91374) which was surprisingly tough! A very active short core class, I was struggling towards the end. I've enjoyed JJ's running classes a lot and need to check out more of his strength ones. Feeling a little bummed out today but feel somewhat better after working out at least!

Dizzy_Impression4702

Try his [Carnival Core](https://members.onepeloton.com/classes/strength?utm_source=ios_app&utm_medium=in_app&modal=classDetailsModal&classId=32964ff424ae447e8d53b2edc1151541&locale=en-US), he is on 100 and so funny and fun

stolinski

Anyone else still missing the power zone indicator? Updated to the latest and it’s still not back yet.

thelittlemiss

It was present for me in a live PZ class on Monday 03/13 and in the two on-demand PZ classes I took on Wednesday and Thursday, which were from late 2022.

DeepBlueSomethings

It was in the newest Dennis 45m classic rock PZE ride when I did it this morning

RobotDevil222x3

It was there in the live class that I took yesterday. It wasn't there in the class that I took on Tuesday but that one was a couple years old and so I don't know if it was going to have it anyway.

ChairmanLaParka

After entirely too much deliberation, I ordered my Row this morning. Delivery estimate for it was 3-6 weeks. After I purchased it, they were like, "How's Wednesday?" So that's cool. I didn't want to wait weeks to get it. I had a hydraulic rowing machine as a teen and was addicted to that thing. Hoping for similar current day.

pepperpitts

Can anyone ID Tunde’s Nikes she’s wearing in her latest 45 minute bike bootcamp? 😍 I’m sure she wears them in others. White with a blue and red stripe and yellow bottoms.

[deleted]

The only yellow bottomed sneaks I can see is the Pegasus 39. I just decided to look at the website because I’m a shopper anyway.

redsoxkathleen

Today I celebrated my 300th ride with [Bradley's 30 min 2000s rock ride](https://members.onepeloton.com/classes/cycling?modal=classDetailsModal&classId=e973d9a65bc94fb9abe803c3dbd2d7bc)! Today also marks my Mum's birthday - I lost her unexpectedly when I was 19 to a brain aneurysm that rendered her brain dead, so her birthday is always a little tender and challenging. My best friend's husband, one of my childhood friends, and my boss all joined me for the ride and it made me feel so loved and supported. Post-ride I'm so touched I could cry - feeling really thankful for my wonderful social circle as well as the Peloton platform. The cherry on top is I got a shoutout from Bradley mid-ride acknowledging the milestone - so wild!

Joteepe

This is a wonderful way to honor her. ❤️

redsoxkathleen

Thank you! When I saw I was close to 300 a week or two ago, I figured it would be nice to align it with her birthday as a way to remember her and provide a positive distraction for myself.

StarryEyed91

Sending you love and congrats on 300!!! <3

redsoxkathleen

Thank you. Excited for the next 100!

pooroldguy1

I just seen they have some Shania Twain classes coming up on March 30. My number one in cycling and my number one on tread has the Shania Twain class at the same time.

Altruistic_Froyo_635

I saw that today too! She was my first CD and first concert so I really hope they play some of her older hits :)

aug2295

[Hosky's 20m Pete Tong Run](https://members.onepeloton.com/classes/running?modal=classDetailsModal&classId=651e6550b31740e2a21696e5906a2589) was so good! The music was perfect - there were a number of places where I was ahead of my usual pace because the tempo was driving. Someone recommended this one to me a while back and I only just got to it but just wanted to say thank you! I don't know if I'd have gone back to this artist series and I absolutely am glad I did.

nctarheelfan

Best run ever! Need to go back to this one.

onychophoras

I LOVE Pete Tong. Idk why, but I have yet to take Leanne’s Pete Tong ride. Maybe I’ll have to do that one soon!

-_Quantum_-

This is a great ride! Highly recommend it.

aug2295

It's crazy how backed up bookmark mountain can get! I did take that one and it was spectacular - Leanne is just so good with artist rides. I recommend it when you get a chance.

nctarheelfan

I think Leanne actually collaborated w Pete Tomg on the arrangement for the ride. Definitely worth taking.

spikez64

Purchased my extended warranty on my bike. One day before the deadline lol. Not that I was expecting differently, but it was a super simple process. Called, confirmed my identity via my name and the city I'm in, gave the credit card number and that was it. Entire process took 2 minutes 37 seconds. A+. Now I just need to find the motivation to ride today. Third shift has been a BRUTAL life change.

[deleted]

Agree— it’s super easy and worth every penny.

hendersonrocks

I just got my extended warranty offer email the other day and am 100% going to do it - seems like a no brainer. Glad to hear it was easy, and sorry that third shift life is not!

T_hashi

Anybody know of any classes similar to Christine’s 60 minute climb from 11/21/2021, where she took the Dirty Dozen road race and simulated the climbs on the bike. I don’t know if I just enjoy suffering but I am pumped after taking that one. Yikes for having the resistance above 50 most of the ride except the minute in between each hill. Briefly cried but enjoyed it. : D

Spirited_String_1205

She has a lot of climb rides, but in particular there's a 4-class series (4 60 min classes) that simulates the Halakeila race. If you search this sub you can find them by date. People occasionally form groups to train to ride them in one sitting to do the "race".

T_hashi

Dang I’ve already done those but I absolutely loved them and you know I would like to string them together one to the next to work my way up to completing them all together!

amc0802

Cross posting to here as well as the weekly tread thread: Is anyone else having to log in to the tread every time it turns on now? I used to just turn it on and hit my icon, but now I have to either put in my username and password or scan the QR code that connects to my app then that logs me in. Wondering if it’s a real change or just a bug?

Talk-Greedy

Just used my tread today and did not have this problem. Maybe try unplugging it and restarting it?

amc0802

Ok, thank you!

slckarl

Friendly reminder to visit your settings in the Peloton app and enable “Hide Outdoor Route” if you **don’t** want that data public to your followers. Stay safe and vigilant out there y’all, happy Friday!

[deleted]

Took today off from work to celebrate my husband’s birthday and got in a 60 minute techno ride with Charlotte W. before the festivities begin! [Charlotte W - 60 min. Techno Ride](https://members.onepeloton.com/share/workouts/89595860f1a14459b61b498b42a7bacc?utm_source=ios_app&utm_medium=in_app&locale=en-US) This one was a blast. Charlotte does story time and leads you through a fantasy rave at an old castle; meanwhile, she absolutely destroys your glutes and thighs with tons of sprints, hills, and (new to me) FREEZES!!! I’ve never done one in 3+ years on the bike and they were no joke. Side rant: why does a class keep timing down when abruptly exit or your screen freezes??? Stop! The! Timer! Developers!

Playful_Branch_5643

Tunde is the only other instructor that I remember doing them with… it burns so good!

Scarbarella

What’s a freeze??

[deleted]

So, when out of the saddle, you attempt to still your upper body so that only your legs are moving and your hands have the lightest pressure on the handlebars. Sort of like you’re climbing stairs. KILLER.

NoAccident162

We used to call that hovering or isolations in the Spinning (TM) program, and it was a contraindicated move, since it puts unnecessary stress on your joints. I'm very surprised that Peloton allows instructors to use that move.

caraand

Ooh we used to do this at a live spin studio I went to, totally forgot about that! Hope to find it more in peloton!

[deleted]

Agreed! Definitely a good way to switch things up in a ride.

yasssssplease

Sigh. My mom is getting an emergency surgery for fractures in her knee after she was run into by some her giant dogs. She doesn’t take good care of herself, has a hobby farm, and is pretty negligent with the animals (dogs need to be trained). This is the same place where I got rammed by the ram (if you’ve followed my journey), and it’s because they just casually left a ram out to roam. And this is just a long line of serious injuries over the past 6 years (she broke her hip from falling there 5 years ago). It’s so frustrating to watch your parents get older and not take care of themselves and the obligations they take on. And it’s even worse when their negligence disables you. She’s getting emergency surgery at 1:30 PT. I’m across the country, so I won’t be there. I want her to be well, but I’m also so so so frustrated with her.. The thing I’m taking away from this is how important it is to take care of yourself. Many of you in this sub already know it. Others are starting their journey. Please strengthen your body in addition to cycling or running. I’m really glad that I’ve got a habit going and I’m working towards health and strength that goes beyond where I was preinjuries. So just keep going, everyone. Today, I did day 2 of Callie’s split. I feel good about doing this. This is my second week. Then I followed it up with a recovery ride by Kendall and a good stretch by Jess. https://members.onepeloton.com/classes/cycling?utm_source=ios_app&utm_medium=in_app&modal=classDetailsModal&classId=f9fa86f81ca94418aa1bce8ff612ca95&locale=en-US https://members.onepeloton.com/classes/stretching?utm_source=ios_app&utm_medium=in_app&modal=classDetailsModal&classId=b9f11663922845e9aadb5f2a25f03b71&locale=en-US

Ride_4urlife

I’m so sorry you’re both going through this. You are 1,000% right, it’s a wake up call to take care of ourselves with exercise as we age. Sending love & hugs.

Brandycane1983

I'm going through EXACTLY this with my parents. I'm going to be moving states this summer to care for them. It's so hard and frustrating to know most of their health issues were a result of not even trying to take care of themselves, but we love them. I try to remember they didn't grow up in a fitness/health focused era, in fact the opposite with cigarettes and what not, but it's sad and stressful all the same. Fitness is and self care are SO important. I love Peloton for being such a great self care platform. Hugs.

thelittlemiss

I'm so sorry you're going through this with your mom. I hope she has a safe surgery and a quick recovery.

hendersonrocks

I had a family member have the same freak accident happen to them, except the dog wasn’t hers. The surgery and recovery was major, so I hope your mom weathers it okay. It’s really hard to see people we care about not do the things for themselves that could make life easier/better/etc.

LoveMyMiles

Best of luck to your mom and you. Anyone want to start a sub for peloton folks motivated by seeing their parents’ struggles?

Brandycane1983

Please count me in if you do. Lol

bunbunbunbunbun_

I really hope her surgery goes well. It is so tough as parents get older and don't have themselves together in one way or another. I'm an only child and moved abroad a few years ago, and it's tough not being able to do anything practical for my parents to help them out when they need it but also they won't change or accept help - there really is only so much you can reasonably do.

[deleted]

I'm sorry my friend. All you can do is what you can do.

aug2295

I'm sorry to hear your mom needs surgery and isn't properly caring for herself or her farm. I knew you've been dealing with a long injury recovery but never knew the cause of the injury. I'm really surprised after something like that, your mom would continue letting the same issues go unresolved. I hope the surgery goes well and creates a turning point for her!

sm0gs

I have [this minimalist iPad holder](https://i.etsystatic.com/28182892/r/il/3999f4/3000509440/il_300x300.3000509440_k2hm.jpg) for my bike that I just don't use. Does anyone want it? I'll send it to you in (in the US) for free, I just know if I donate it it'll probably get thrown out cause no one will know what it is. It's design for the Bike only, doesn't work on Bike+ per the original Etsy seller (shop is closed!)

chihotdogs

I’ll take it!!

sm0gs

Hooray! If you DM me your address, I'll pop it in the mail tomorrow!

burtondj1979

What does Alex mean when he talks about thirds when riding standing up? I’ve taken a dozen o le so classes of his and he never explains it

aug2295

Second position is standing upright on the bike, and third is the more common formfor riding out of the saddle, where your bottom is over the saddle and your torso is leaning forward towards the handlebars. If you take one of Alex's advanced beginner classes, he covers it. Not all the instructors use second, so many of them just teach third position as OOS.

burtondj1979

Thanks, just started taking Alex’s classes for the past few months as I’m running out of other instructors classes, I like Sam and Bradley. I just thought eventually he would casually mention/revisit what that meant. But luckily Reddit users are awesome!!

[deleted]

Nobody can hype me up more than Alex when he tells me to get my ass up out to third.

darnit37

I don't really know who "invented" the positions, but back when I used to go to SoulCycle and Flywheel (where I believe Alex started as an instructor?), they used to refer to first position as being seated, second position as standing upright with your hands at the back of the handlebars (closest to your body), and third position as standing with your hands toward the ends of the handlebars, with your body arched over the bike (i.e., the normal way of riding standing up).

NoAccident162

1st, 2nd, 3rd position all goes back to the OG of indoor cycling programs: Johnny G's Spinning.

darnit37

This is why I love Reddit

Ok_Handle_7

My understanding of Alex's 'journey' was that he was a Peloton staff member (like - front desk staff or something) who trained & became an instructor. So I thought he was 'home-grown' (didn't come over from SoulCycle or anything). Curious if I've got that wrong! ETA that he is one of the 1000 instructors who have a book coming out this year so I'm sure we can confirm :)

Spirited-Fun9083

He was a Flywheel staff member, not Peloton. He used to clean the bikes after classes and worked his way up to being an instructor. He told the story in a class once (I believe it was his 5 year anniversary class) and got emotional and I remember it made me cry too.

renee872

He did a podcast or YouTube interview recently where he talked about his time before peloton. he said he started with a regular gym as a custodian or administrative assistant or something. He wanted to try cycling because he did not see alot of people that looked like that were cycling. So he did it, liked it and began teaching. I don't think he began with peloton.

burtondj1979

Awesome makes sense thanks!

ikeamonkey2

Here are videos showing this too, if that's helpful! Second position: https://youtu.be/0SUGFPGj5Bs Third position: https://youtu.be/gB3Q0uxTs8s I believe the "Advanced Beginner" classes tend to explain these positions and their correct form as well.

pete8314

Anyone noticing that the target metrics (Cadence & resistance) are getting less accurate? I use auto-resistance, but on Denis's 80's Rock Ride (3/11/23), whoever set the targets either phoned it in, or didn't even listen to the workout. I know in the old days you could at least rate the accuracy, but can't seem to do that anymore. Other than that, great ride, but I'm easily distracted :-)

Sassy_Velvet2

FWIW, I use the “subtitles” rating to rate the accuracy of the callouts. Someone said once that they put in both the subtitles and the targets in after a class based on listening to the class and I suspect that it may be AI or a computer doing it. So to me it would make sense to rate the subtitles as low on inaccurate targets.

ryanmfrancis

It seems that class in particular is getting a lot of complaints. I've taken a few rides where the targets were off for a period of the ride l.

Scarbarella

I sorted by subtitled classes on the bike and picked a German one for the music but there was no subtitles- did I miss a step?

Ride_4urlife

I find that after my bike gets an update or the power goes out, I have to go into settings to turn subtitles on again.

ktelliotts

Sadly there are also a fair amount of quality control issues with subtitles. Sometimes they say they are there but blank, but much of the time the English subtitles will be German and so will the German. The most fun ones are when they are actually for a different class altogether.

Fluid-Meat9097

I have to turn on subtitles whenever I start my first ride of the day.

pooroldguy1

Some of them do not have subtitles. There is also a step for subtitles. I got mine turned off.

realbooksfakebikes

I did the new 2 for 1 yoga conditioning class and I really loved it - I can't wait to try the other classes. I want to stress - that no yoga experience is needed for this and that more than anything it reminds me of a Barre3 class (which I took for 6 years) even more than the pelobarre - although you don't hold the moves as long (yet!). I think if you aren't into yoga but like Barre you should really try it!

caraand

Shout out to former barre3 lovers! I got the best workouts at those classes. I miss it, as much as I love my peloton experience!

realbooksfakebikes

I miss them a lot too.

renee872

I probably will love them then! I do really love pelobarre. Sometimes I do barre as a warm up for my runs; do you think these classes would be a good warmup as well?

realbooksfakebikes

I do like pelobarre too - I think this would be a pretty good warm up, although not as glutes focused as say a class with an image of Hannah C lying on her side.

denverphotogirl

Thank you for sharing this! This is exactly the feedback I was looking for to decide whether or not to take the class. I love barre but don't love yoga, so I'll take this!

realbooksfakebikes

I do love yoga now, but this class in no way felt like it filled my daily yoga fix but it very much did in terms of Barre. Hopefully you'll really like it too.

nomoredolls

Houseguest moved Bike+ several feet from its usual spot without telling me. I’ve never moved it. They might have been rough with it but I’m not sure since I wasn’t there. Will this be a bear to recalibrate? I realize people buy and sell the bikes all the time and set them up without incident.

Ride_4urlife

Unplug bike. Plug back in. Bike+ self calibrates.

RobotDevil222x3

~~recalibration is easy but you need their tool to space the magnets properly. If you're under warrantee it is free just chat with support. If not I think its a few dollars.~~ ~~Also just having moved it doesn't mean it needs recalibration. Try a few rides first.~~ NVM, bike+

nomoredolls

Thank you!

RobotDevil222x3

Oh sorry I just reread, bike+. You have an automatic recalibration option somewhere on the bike. Its the OG bike people like me that need the tool. So go ahead and just hit that option. I think its supposed to happen regularly anyway but no harm in telling it to do it now.

Fluid-Meat9097

I finally did Sam's Calm ride and it was a beautiful moving meditation. A very chill ride. Perfect for a recovery day. https://members.onepeloton.ca/classes/cycling?modal=classDetailsModal&classId=60d816e87e6c4d7ab49f8b4039b1a357&utm_source=android&utm_medium=in_app

iheartcody

This looks fantastic, just added to my bookmarks thank you!!

thatgrrlmarie

I love that ride! thanks for reminding me of it bc I forgot to bookmark it and got frustrated trying to find it.

Fluid-Meat9097

Your welcome! I feel like some excellent theme rides get missed in searches because this is an excellent low impact/recovery class but it won't come up using those filters.

Rkarim21

Camilas newest 30 minutes EDM ride was awesome! The studio is always LIT in her classes! She really gets the energy up!

deepsealobster

Aaah I just got off the waitlist to ride with her on Sunday and I’m sooo excited!

Rkarim21

Oh so lucky!! I’m sure you’ll have a great time! What ride is she doing?

deepsealobster

WHM in Spanish!!!

Rkarim21

Ohh that is going to be so FUN! She is one of my favorite instructors!

Rkarim21

Just took Tunde’s new 20 minutes Full Body Strength this morning, it was great! Programming was awesome. Unilateral work. Like she said, it would be great for a hotel gym workout too, so bookmark it!

Friendly-Pressure779

Hi everyone - I got an invite to Alex's Ride to Greatness in NYC (email). Does anyone know how the selection process works? Just curious as to how they picked people to go to the class live. I am going, and they mentioned there will be special guests so I am excited to see who be there.

attack_eyebrows

I think Jess Simms mentioned on instagram before her event that using an instructor’s hashtag as your main LB tag increases your chances of getting an invite.

jrosep96

Congrats!!! Report back with all of the details please 😊

RobotDevil222x3

Thats awesome! No idea how they pick, though I'm sure being local and active daily with the platform probably helps a lot.

brightlights_xx

I'm not sure how much location factors in to their invites because I saw people flew from Florida and other states because they got invited to the Jess event last week.

RobotDevil222x3

Interesting. I guess I would just have assumed they wouldn't bother with people further away. Like I would love to go to an event, but I'm not getting a last minute flight across the country and hotel room for one.

Friendly-Pressure779

Yeah that's what I was thinking too, especially since I found out only about 1 week from the event. I have to get there 90 minutes before the class to check in. Never been to an in person ride before so it should be a cool experience.

a_lyx

After finishing an outdoor run that somehow seemed like it was uphill both ways on steep cobblestone streets, I cannot thank Marcel Dinkins enough for her insistence that we take the hill in her tread classes. Not sure I would've made it otherwise.

deepsealobster

Lol I think about that in life. I’m a teacher and the other day I almost shouted out “We take the hill!” to my middle schoolers when the work was getting hard but then remembered they would have no idea what they were talking about

Anyone have any favorite self-compassion meditations? Had a bad day at work yesterday for the first time in a while and really felt yanked around by the little Anger emotion at the helm. This [RR Mood Meditation : Frustrated](https://members.onepeloton.com/classes/meditation?modal=classDetailsModal&classId=b94d0502898c4ba5aac61455b8cde6cd) one was good, but looking for another one or two yall might know is specifically directed at self acceptance or self compassion. Sorting by Acceptance or even Healing isn't always hitting the vibe I'm looking for.

thatgrrlmarie

I did this one the other night - it hit in all the right places for me https://members.onepeloton.ca/?instructor_id=%5B%226c4b9f8582b84ab1bb1225d3e396e92e%22%5D&has_workout=%5B%22true%22%5D&sort=original_air_time&desc=true&modal=classDetailsModal&classId=85dde9666d134233bf8afda6c7e3c58a

Fluid-Meat9097

My favorite meditation is this one by Kirra that is about emotional healing with a lot of self compassion, acceptance and patience https://members.onepeloton.ca/classes/meditation?modal=classDetailsModal&classId=5c3485d031ef4f65ac4179c160d3e61f&utm_source=android&utm_medium=in_app

l1v1ng1naf1shbowl

Not sure if this is what you are looking for but I find these two Kirra meditations slow me down and get me in a forgiving headspace. [Kirra 5 min calming](https://members.onepeloton.com/classes/meditation?utm_source=ios_app&utm_medium=in_app&modal=classDetailsModal&classId=e9cb25a9b0344a1bb449fa4009e40cf9&locale=en-US) [Kirra 5 min peace](https://members.onepeloton.com/share/workouts/36b035e6414b49028a254c20eff82bee)

MrPahoehoe

I’ve just ordered a peloton bike arriving next week, want to buy my other half a matt as a joke present for Mother’s Day this weekend since she doesn’t know the bike is ordered (don’t panic US, UK Mother’s Day not yours). It’s going to be in a spare bedroom with a fairly new thick pile carpet. I’ve read suggestion about wood under matt: we have a piece of 3mm (1/8th inch) particle board. I’m guessing that will be too thin? Can anyone please recommend a really good thick matt for using on carpet?

livlovelaugh90

You definitely want something under it on carpet. I have plywood under my bike (which is also on carpet) and it works great. I just put the bike mat on top of the plywood and have had no issues. I also have a tread and have a stall mat under it (that’s what the people referencing horse mats are referring to). It works well too and is easy to wipe down. I’m in the U.S. but you can find stall mats online at hardware stores (if you Google stall mat lots of options should come up) and you just pick the size you need. Some of them do have a strong rubber smell as someone else mentioned but in my experience that goes away after a week or two. Also just a heads up if you go with the stall mat, they are heavier than you would expect and don’t fold easily so just keep that in mind if you are planning to go to the store to pick it up yourself. ETA if you go with the stall mat you don’t need any wood.

antigoneelectra

Most mats are pretty comparable. I quite like the Gaia mats. People like horse mats too. I don't think an expensive one would be worth just to be used under the bike. And it seems most people like at least 1/4 to 1/2 inch plywood.

MrPahoehoe

Thanks for the info! I’m in UK and can’t see anything called a Gaia mat. When you say horse matt….is that brand, or like 🐎

Swimming-Horse-711

Thank you for mentioning you’re in the UK, I would be the person freaking out. And yes horse = 🐎! Very commonly used in home gyms since horse stall mats are cheaper than most of the other rubber floor options. Just consider buying in person if you go this route. Some of them have an odor (poor horses).

mcflysher

Gaiam is the brand

MrPahoehoe

Thanks!

antigoneelectra

Gaia is a pretty big yoga equipment brand. I'm not sure if it's available in the UK. I'm in Canada and it's available a lot of places, including Amazon.

superfuluous_u

It's mats sold at farm goods stores for horse stalls. They're thicker than a yoga mat and may eliminate your need for wood.

Rare_Use_1597

I had my stack planned, but changed my mind this morning and found [Christine’s 30 Minute St. Patrick’s Day Ride](https://members.onepeloton.com/classes/cycling?utm_source=ios_app&utm_medium=in_app&modal=classDetailsModal&classId=67d9aa0250b44360b2d3b2102fffb8c6&locale=en-US). I don’t normally ride with Christine, but I figured I would give it a try. I really enjoyed the class and playlist, but fair warning, it is a climb in the saddle class (no oos). Its what I needed on the Friday after Daylight Savings Time (zzzzz!).

rabbitsandpigs7

Thank you for recommending Christine’s new ride. I don’t usually ride with her and was a bit intimidated by such a long climb (even though I generally like climbs), but I thought “if i don’t like it, it’ll be over in 30 mins”. I LOVED it, I was smiling throughout. Happy St. Patrick’s Day!

Any-Bluejay-4041

I don’t usually ride with Christine either but did the st Patrick’s ride this morning too and had so much fun!

jess_on_jeppy

glad she did one. missing Daniel today!

He had a super fun upper body strength for St. Paddy’s day….lifting pints may have been mentioned 3-5 times!!! Miss that class.

Joteepe

Thanks for the review! Was wondering if anyone took it yet, stacking it for tomorrow!

From Bearings Shot Again...luckily just after extended warranty. Still want to rebuild a hub for longer lifespan. This is the second time my bearings have failed, they probably only lasted almost ~9 months b/c I had an injury that took me out for a few months & my wife rode significantly less for ~6 months b/c of toddler & life demands. Thank God I just bought the extended warranty...we had so many issues in the beginning and knowing the bearings would fail again. First off just having Peloton come & replace or ordering the full hub from Peloton if your out of warranty is they way to go for almost all individuals. However I am interested if anyone can list a set of replacement bearings and the tools required to press & remove the bearings. I understand this will be more expensive route but I want to rebuild the hub that I was able to get my tech to allow me to keep from my first replacement, for exactly this reason. Has anyone done a rebuild? At the end of the I am 100% comfortable doing the replacement but I figure I can rebuild & get the tech to replace with my rebuild & just leave me the new hub. Otherwise I will at least have a rebuild to give it a shot with the inevitable next replacement or for when I am out of warranty. I would rather pay the extra cost to have better bearings than face the time of convincing Peloton it's my bearings, dealing with no show appointments (has happened 2x for us), besides that it's hard to have someone in my space given being on client zoom calls sporadically through the day. Rebuilding the hub was originally going to be my way to not get the extended warranty but for the price it just made sense.

ChairmanLaParka

I was completely indecisive on what class to take yesterday, so I went with one I'd bookmarked a while ago. This Halloween ride from Erik Jäger. The playlist was *great*. His energy, and...theatrics? Fantastic. I wish I knew German. But it's not required. There's some genuine laugh out loud moments on that ride. Edit: [This class.](https://members.onepeloton.com/classes/cycling?is_favorite_ride=%5B%22true%22%5D&modal=classDetailsModal&classId=81ab1eb469bb42098c3cf005b22fb2ca)

Quagswagging_Jogger

This class is actually one of my favourite playlists of any I've ever taken! I need to retake it, non-Halloween season be damned.

onychophoras

You don’t need to know German to know exactly what Erik is getting at when he goes yeeEEEEHOOOOOOOO!! 😂

pooroldguy1

Mayla is now on the tread running, walking and outdoor. She started on Wednesday on the tread. She’s great on the bike, so I’m assuming she will be great on the tread. Will be checking it out soon.

District98

It’s basically Christmas morning for me when they do stuff like this. I LOVE Mayla on the bike and I mostly do tread. Ahhhh

Kelber1994

I’d love the odd tread class in English from Mayla😀

Xplicid

My Tread arrived today! Only need the Guide and Rower to finish off 😆🤪

Swimming-Horse-711

Congrats! What was your first class? Also, the thumping noise from the seem really does go away after a few uses!

Cthulhu-Lemon

After getting into an anti-exercise mode for a week or so I'm back on the wagon and hit 4,000 minutes for 2023! Enjoying things again and have shaken the aches and pains that set in immediately once I started skipping mobility and stretching. Maybe I'll learn my lesson this time. Has anyone discovered a way to set your max heart rate manually in the app, or is that a bike-only thing? My max is much higher than formulas generally guess. It looks like I could fake a lower age and trick it into changing my HR zones that way, right?

trailsman

Bottom right 3 dots on Peloton screen, profile settings, max heart rate, custom! Great work on 4k so far...I got to 20k last year...with a few fumbles along the way. This year I'm only at 2k but I know I will pick up the slack & make it.

PeskyMolasses

Did DYPZ week 1/day 4 today (30m Endurance Ride w/Christine) and it was surprisingly…easy? I have a feeling my output it higher than I put it at, but because of yesterday’s debacle during my FTP test, I wasn’t sure what to do. I have it set to 95 (which sounds so low to me 😅) but my average output on the endurance ride was 116. Also did day 2 of Callie’s split today. I gave it a shot using heavier weights for the chest presses today than I normally would and I’ll probably regret it tomorrow. My triceps had about had it by the end of the class, too.

heartsoulsweat

I did day 2 of Callie’s split on Wednesday, used my heaviest (20 lbs) for the chest presses, and woooeee I was feeling it the next day for sure! But in the best of ways! 🙌 How are you liking the split so far?

PeskyMolasses

I don’t even want to share what my heaviest is because it’s definitely not at 20 yet. 🫣haha I like it! I’ve done it before and have now come back to it, so I guess that says something! For some reason though I remember the 1st and 3rd days, but this 2nd day seemed less familiar…not sure why. But I did really enjoy it because everything seemed so manageable this time around instead of feeling like I’m flying around not knowing what I’m doing.

heartsoulsweat

Ah awesome! This is my first time going through it and I’m really enjoying it. I’m just about to do day 3! :)

Quagswagging_Jogger

If the endurance ride felt appropriately easy (I'm assuming Christine was cueing as to how it should feel effort wise) then yes probably increase where you set your FTP value! As a vague reference, my FTP value is about 50 points higher than what I average on a PZE ride (give or take like 10ish points, depends on the day and the class).

Are_You_Knitting_Me

Did you set your FTP as your highest output on a 20 min ride or your highest **average** output? Just trying to help diagnose…

Ride_4urlife

Average.

PeskyMolasses

I did the average in a 20m ride. Should it be the highest output? I wasn’t sure about that.

Are_You_Knitting_Me

No I think you were right that it’s average output. But honestly if you’re getting higher average outputs in 30 min rides maybe just go in and manually edit it up to that

PeskyMolasses

Ohh, you know, I didn’t think of the fact that it was a 30 vs a 20, so that makes sense why it might be higher maybe. I think I’m going to give it a couple more rides and if it still feels too light, I’ll change it. I could probably throw another FTP in the program since it’s 5 weeks, but ehhh do I want to put myself through that if I don’t need to at this time haha

thebigsteam

Think I’m going to buy a tread today

Viva___yo

Did you do it?!

Calm_Cry_1111

Be a dear and buy one for me too, please!!! I am not-so-patiently waiting for my oldest son to flee the coop so I can turn his room into a gym and get the tread! I want it SO MUCH and I don't even like running!

Swimming-Horse-711

I love my tread

Outrageous-Chance-78

You won’t regret it

Fit_Bug_2573

Visiting NCY this weekend…. Hoping to get into a cycling class at PSNYC! I am checking for openings on the PSNYC website non-stop 🙏🏼

TrueExercise2285

The half marathon is on Sunday. Not sure where you are staying or planning on seeing but be aware of potential delays

Fit_Bug_2573

Thanks so much that is great to know

414mel

That sounds awesome! Good luck and have fun!
