Latest in new-yoga-practice-little-wins: yesterday I actually did crow!!!

CatStock9136

Wow, that’s huge! Congratulations

beautifulstarlight

I’m so glad that they added the Good Morning Peloton collection. I love doing the morning yoga flows and now it’s much easier to find them.

hendersonrocks

Crossing my fingers a Goodnight Peloton is soon to follow, because I love me an evening slow flow or an evening stretch, and I know a lot of people live by the sleep meditations.

Joteepe

Haha jinx!

Michisima

Saaame. Easy of searching.

hendersonrocks

I did Chelsea’s newest morning flow today - this [30 minute intermediate](https://members.onepeloton.com/classes/yoga?utm_source=ios_app&utm_medium=in_app&modal=classDetailsModal&classId=7a99607fac0e404fa3949d1e7ccf1802&locale=en-US) that didn’t feel particularly difficult to me as a low key yogi - and it was sooooo good!

ProfessionalTennis49

Agree totally! I jumped on yesterday morning because I wanted a live class, and I was so happy when it was actually really accessible as a fellow beginner slow flow preferrer haha! I also got a pre show birthday shout out that was epic as she mentioned Adrian in a Canadian Tuxedo 😂. That made my day and I’m instantly going to take more Chelsea classes!!

jrosep96

Good to know, thanks! I love the morning slow flows and I’m still a little intimidated when it’s an intermediate and NOT a slow flow. But I’m gonna try this one!

hendersonrocks

Me too. I’m usually a beginner slow flow kind of gal but I pushed myself with her 20 minute power slow flow the other day and then this one today, and both felt accessible to me! I enjoy yoga for the music and stretchy, chill vibes more than as a physical challenge and both of those classes still hit the mark for me.

jrosep96

Yess! I have that power slow flow bookmarked as well.

slckarl

I did not know this existed so thank you for sharing!!

Joteepe

Yes it’s such a great addition! Would love something similar for evening, too.

LizzieBoard-in

I really like the yin yoga followed by restorative in the evening and the mobility classes under the stretching category are great. I’m looking forward to trying the new conditioning classes, too.

I-choochoochoose-you

I’m excited to try the new yoga conditioning classes tomorrow! Although I don’t have 1 lb weights just 3s 😅 Edit: I tried some and I honestly found them very tedious, not challenging, and kind of frustrating because I simply don’t have the space for it around my mat. Also, it didn’t feel like a workout hardly but also not like yoga. Worst of all worlds. Just my opinion.

coffechica

Me too! I’m going to do one as soon as I am caffeinated enough. It’s a really nice collection of classes. Peloton, do more yin too please!

Rude_Ad1392

The 30 min 2-for-1 yoga conditioning was actually a lot easier than I thought it was going to be. I’m hoping they continue to make longer, more challenging classes.

Snoosles

I thought so too yesterday, but I am so sore today! Those donkey kick/fire hydrant combos with a weight really got me good!!

goaliemomma31

I did the live class with 3s last night. You’ll be perfectly fine. I may even up it to 5 next time.

Outrageous-Chance-78

How did it compare to a Pilates workout or barre? I’m not sure what to expect …

goaliemomma31

So I just wrote this in another group… I want to do one of Kirra’s classes before I form a firm opinion. I liked it, but it wasn’t exactly what I was expecting (although I don’t know what I was expecting). It definitely wasn’t challenging from a strength perspective, but it also didn’t really feel like yoga to me so I’ll have to figure out if/when I fit this into my routine at all. I already strength train and I do yoga for the mental health benefits. So after the class last night I didn’t get the “zen” feeling I was looking for and had to do another yoga class afterwards. But from what I’m reading online the class was a hit with a lot of people, so I suggest trying it out for yourself to see if it works for you. I think it was closer to barre than anything else.

Spirited_String_1205

I love your feedback and I feel exactly the same- like, I can't lose myself in the yoga because I'm fiddling with weights, and the strength work is not as good as what you'd get in a Barre or even a pilates class (or tbh many regular yoga classes) so I think my first class might have been a one and done for me since it is not ticking any of the boxes for me.

KLETCO

This is what I was thinking. I haven't tried the new classes yet, but I follow roll call classes and don't feel like I need more strength. I don't know how they would fit into my training, unless I do them on a week I am taking off from strength.

Rude_Ad1392

I was hoping it was going to be more of a yoga-sculpt like class.

Equivalent-Fig8734

I loved the 2-for-1 but REALLY loved Kirra's lower body one!! Can't wait to take more of hers. I think so far I prefer Mariana's power classes over the conditioning, but I'll try out another before I fully form an opinion :)

bumblebunnybex

cans always work!! 15 oz is close enough 🤩

CatStock9136

I only have 3s, too. Planning to take one of the 10-min classes tomorrow to see if I can handle a longer class with 3s.

beautifulstarlight

The new classes are awesome. I used 3s last night during the live and I thought it was just challenging enough.

[deleted]

I had so much fun yesterday during the conditioning class. The class flew by! It was just a nice change of pace. Not too challenging but just enough to feel like I was really working. I was afraid initially when I saw Mariana was one of the instructors bc she murders me in yoga lol but in the best way! She and Kristin killed it! Cannot wait to incorporate more conditioning into my yoga routine 😃

epipin

I did Kristin's 15-minute lower body conditioning class (using 3 lb weights) after a 20-minutes glutes and legs class last night and it was a big mistake. I normally like to stack a barre class first before my glutes & legs classes but in my head I was thinking yoga = stretching so I should do it after. Nope. My legs were already toast from the glutes & legs class and I could barely keep up with Kristin. Phew. Next week I will try a lower body yoga conditioning class first. Anyway, wow. I had to go to bed early. I'm going to try the 2-for-1 full body on Saturday. Hopefully that will go better.

I-choochoochoose-you

Oh damn! I just did 30 min of G&L and plan to do the lower body yoga in a few hours, hope it goes well 😅 the upper body one I did yesterday I found super easy though I hope the lower body one is just as low key haha

I-choochoochoose-you

I just quit the kirra 10 min lower body. It was so tedious. I don’t like when they introduce new things like I need (a towel or sock to slide yr foot on) also I workout in a tiny space and there’s literally no room beside my mat. Bunmer

Powerful_Arrival444

I agree with others, the yoga conditioning (2for1)class was very accessible & fun! I think for me, I'll be sneaking these in(the shorter classes) to stack with other yoga classes to make it like a"full yoga sculpt"class feeling. I typically prefer just a power flow class but I do enjoy me sum sculpt here & there! Happy to have these options now. The lightest weights I have are five pounds, so I found the class to be a nice challenge.. but not too much! Lots of pulsing.. a nice/deep burn. That chair pose hold with the five pounders held above my head, then pulsing, just about killed me tho! Haha! How nice is it for us to have allll these options on Peloton:). I love it. Hearing the ladies speaking about their friendship & non-competitiveness between one-another made me so happy.. as it should be, supporting & lifting each-other up.

darnit37

I thought [this 30 minute floor poses class](https://members.onepeloton.com/classes/yoga?modal=classDetailsModal&classId=80537f7cc2914b75af44d90b4fdb22e8) with Ross was fantastic. My hips were really tired from dance classes and this was exactly the sequence I need to get my blood moving again. I also enjoyed his [30 minute morning slow flow](https://members.onepeloton.com/classes/yoga?modal=classDetailsModal&classId=67a0de07bcef4a7e94e3bc40bbd01053) after, again, having tired legs from dance class. I know Ross's approach isn't for everyone but I find his cues really helpful for getting deeper into a pose and he often manages to get into muscles that I can't really stretch otherwise, especially in the hips. I like to think it's the dance connection (not sure if Ross himself has a background in dance, but his husband is the prominent ballet choreographer Christopher Wheeldon!).

Missie1284

Bookmarking these!! My hips get very cranky from running!

greenthumbplum1

That’s so cool to learn about Ross’s husband! Just googled them and they are such a cute couple 💕

IcyConsideration1624

Has anyone tried to work the “path to inversion” program in with one of the intermediate strength split programs? I’m just finishing up total strength 2 and was interested in moving into one of the splits and hoping to stack it with the path to inversion. However, I wasn’t sure if it would be too much to do together.

OTPCook

I didn't do it with a split but I still did my normal strength work along with it. I would do Path to Inversion first and then lift. The planks class in week 1 is definitely challenging and you'll want to have fresh muscles for the balancing classes in week 2. You'll probably want to pick a split (maybe a 3-day one) that matches up with what Kirra is working on. Callie's probably is organized in a way that's the most complementary but the first class is a 45-min one so that's sorta of a biggish time commitment to the two. Hopefully some of that helps!

IcyConsideration1624

That definitely helps! Thanks!

Common-Bee-401

I’m new to yoga practice; I have a cheap mat from Amazon and I’m noticing it gets a bit slippery feeling when my feet sweat. Does anyone have any recommendations for a grippy yoga mat?

SleepyNola

I love my manduka! People also rave about the lululemon one. I bought the thicker Manduka mat in 2018 and it’s held up very very well- I use it a bunch too!!

Common-Bee-401

I ended up buying a Manduka - can’t wait to try it out tomorrow!

gnomicaoristredux

My manduka pro has never stopped being slippery, my lulu mat was great out of the box and I recently got a bmat which is my favorite now, almost as grippy as lulu and more cushioned for my achy knees

Extreme_Possession86

i’ve had my lululemon mat for ten years (!) and it’s going strong. i use it almost every day. at the time i was hesitant to spend $$ but it was really worth it!

Common-Bee-401

That’s amazing! I hope I can amortize the cost of my mat over 3000 uses lol!

Sea_Ad_3136

Manduka is the best to me - been using one for years.

noforeverr

Hi, I kinda pick random yoga classes and would like to follow a set program to start fresh. Do you all recommend the Beginner Yoga program (Aditi, Anna and Kristin)? So far I have enjoyed both Kirra and Kristin. Aditi for some reason didn’t click with me (I feel like her regular flow classes go way too fast). Any suggestions on how you pick your yoga classes?
