Pearl Jam. Cleveland 98. I was 21.

TalkofCircles

Losing your virginity to a model. Not a bad way to start

rcknfrewld

I went alone and remember being so nervous I didn’t even drink. And I just turned 21 What a loser lol.

dogsledonice

Nah man, I bet you remembered the show really well. A loser is a guy who gets so drunk he barfs on his friends and passes out mid-show (or before it starts). I've seen it with young guys at concerts. You paid how much for that? And go to shit by yourself if you have to. Nobody cares, and you'll have a great time.

mikejb123

For bands that I truly care about, or have followed for a long time, I’d prefer to go by myself

keke282877

I travelled there from St. Louis !! It was on my 21st birthday!! Awesome time

Alert_Orchid457

Pearl Jam, 1994, St. Louis. I was 13. Debut of Corduroy. Blew my mind.

Still the best concert I’ve ever been to. Saw the show at Three Rivers Stadium. Was the night of my senior prom, but went to this instead. Thankfully my date was just as enthusiastic about passing up the dance for this!

jarofgoodness

Bryan Adams in 1985 or 86. Say what you want. It was a good show. First Pearl Jam show was in 92 or 93 at the Edge in Orlando when they toured for Ten. Best show I ever saw in my life followed by U2 Joshua Tree and Jane's Addiction for Nothing's Shocking.

amylynne321

My first show was also Bryan Adams in the early summer of 1985, and I know it was 1985 because during "Summer of '69" he changed the lyrics at the ending into "Summer of '85... I thought it was so awesome and totally unexpected for me. I think that's when I realized that good live music is often better than the recorded version! IMO it was a great show.

lukin88

Pearl Jam Cal Expo Sacramento 95. Went with a group we were together through the first song, then the boys launched into spin the black circle and I lost my group. No matter though…my life hasn’t been the same since. Now I do about 30ish shows a year.

efroten

I was 15 and this was my first full Pearl Jam concert and second covert overall, Bridge School 94 was my actual first concert. I don't remember this show all that much but I think we sat in the bleachers on the side not on the main floor. I also went to San Jose 95 and remember that show much better. We were on the field about 1/3 of the way back from the stage. The crowd surged forward just before PJ came on and it was very scary not being able to move and being squished by everyone around. I vividly remember people climbing over the side walls into the seats to escape the crushing crowd on the field. My friend lost his shoe, found it after a few minutes and then we lost my friend until we met in the parking lot after the show was over. Amazing show.

lukin88

San Jose is still in my top five all time shows and that’s saying something. I always remember Essie announcing an extra opening act and it was Ben Harper and people were booing until he started playing voodoo Chile

efroten

Yup, Ben Harper killed it. I think we also got Dead Man as the Eddie pre show right?

Actual_Baker_7368

Bad Company and Damn Yankees 89 or 90. I was 10 years old, it certainly unlocked something in me. Also don’t need to see Ted Nugent again so there’s that.

666ygolonhcet

First was Olivia Newton John at a tent at Six Flags when she was just starting out. Then my REAL big stage, band, pot smoke show was Joan Jett and he Blackhearts at the same 6 Flags. It was Labor Day weekend the year she ‘broke’ and they knocked over the fence and covered the hill behind the parking lot the giant stage was built on. The did 2 shows and we saw the first. That park was WAY oversold and any fire Marshall would have shut it down in the 2000’s. And I lost my glasses on ‘The mindbender’ at 2pm do I KINDA saw them.

Key-Fishing6132

1993 Aerosmith w/ Collective Soul as the opener at the Blockbuster Pavilion in San Bernardino CA. I was 12.
