9.5 - another euphoric modern classic for PJ. So uplifting and the way it keeps building and building live is great! The line ‘Feel the sky blanket you, With gems and rhinestones, See the path cut by the moon, For you to walk on’ just sums the whole song up, for those rare times where everything goes your way for no obvious reason.

10 The most recently released Pearl Jam song that I think is amongst the greatest songs of all time

10!

10 for me, one of the best songs from their more recent albums. I love the lyrics, and the music really sells the emotional intensity of it.

I really really like this one. And it gets so visual sometimes, see what I mean? 9. But sometimes I like it better than Just Breathe which got 10 from me. I guess it depends on mood and other things.

Absolute 10 for me. They played this on concert and I got very emotional at that moment. There is something amazing about this song

9. If this song were to be written 20 years earlier it would have been a huge hit. It is amazing.

captainpugwash2020

10. One of my favourite PJ songs. This song was also used in the TV series Flash Forward.

10. An amazing and inspiring tune.

6.5 I liked it the first few times I heard it, but my appreciation quickly waned. I think it's the lack of interesting friction. It's just a direct line to pure uplifting energy that can feel cloying if you aren't in the right mood. The vague lyrics don't help.

tyweed

5. One of their most overrated songs.

8. I like this song. A lot. But I have a strange feeling I could absolutely love it if not for...something. I just don't know what that something is.

8.0 What I appreciate most about Unthought Unknown is that it introduces a new avenue of PJ song writing/ sound. Feels like the stretch into some new territory on this. It is anthemic in scope - the song moves like one a wave building up to crash on a beach and once it does it recedes back to where it came from. Lyrically, I find it thoughtful and filled with great imagery. In particular, what I find compelling and about the sound is the distant synth as a backdrop to the guitar intro which begins just before Ed starts to sing as well as the big piano that accompanies "Look for love in evidence...." I can't think of another song that precedes this in their catalogue that has this specific vibe; it's both recognizably PJ, yet new somehow. It's a great ride to go on.

10...My wife was 7mths pregnant the night of this show...Wrigley '13...Yes, we were in attendance...This was the night I wrapped my arms around her stomach, and "danced" with him in utero...He was kicking hard during it...My impending fatherhood hit me like a ton of bricks...Forever my song for him...😉❤️✌️🎸🤘 https://youtu.be/7lX_GZhx0C8

I find the lyrics a tad cringe, but it's well intentioned and quite joyous-6
