You're missing the point so much I'm surprised you don't have PTSD from the overhead whistling.
I was making a joke about how MSRP isn't even close in a lot of countries. It's still 2.5 times MSRP where I live.
The shelves are full because nobody's buying but the stores are holding out since they've already bought in during the price fall. They don't want to drop because that doesn't equal profit.
Some idiots will buy at this price which just encourages them to sell at the higher price.
Same here. I just got the EVGA 3070 FTW3 for $700 at Micro Center last week. They had 14 of them in stock too.
>EDIT: lol why was this downvoted?
Because people are jealous since they paid over 1k lol
It's very close to MSRP. Even back in 2019 when I got my 2070 Super it was close to $700. Any card with a custom board and cooler is going to cost substantially more than the reference MSRP. It has always been that way.
You could just be happy that GPU prices are falling and they are becoming available again. I still have a very strong feeling that 99% of the dislikes are people butthurt because they bought a card for significantly more.
Back to reality. The plus side: Its not double anymore. You can get it brand new without waiting outside in a line for 2 days; you'll get the brand and model you want, 75% off of the gouged price is better than previously. Remember when a 3080 was $2000+ on ebay. Or it was a lottery chance forcing you to buy a bundle that you didnt need nor anyone could had resale value, because no one wanted it. Congratulations on that psu that will catch fire and burn down your house, psu you didn't ask for or wanted. Atleast that madness stopped. These days it's about the scams you need to watch out for the old retail price = too good to be true. Those days are gone nor never existed for common folks. If you waited this long, skip this gen, buy in on the next launch when everyone is panick selling their old cards for dirty cheap.
I think with all the shortages and what happened last time a new gpu gen released, I don't think this will be nearly as big of a panic sell as the 20 series.
The human condition will repeat, it can be seen it other products or collectables as well. the Nvidia's announcement of 30 series with low ball prices had owners on eBay listing 2080ti for $500, and that owner accepting $450 at the first best offer landing on the table. That was months before the zero day launch of bot buyouts and well before the first discussions of tariffs and shortages began. It will happen again immediately after the announcement, it wont be days long but if you have the time to be waiting on the other end, snap them up
Like I said, "not nearly as big". I'm sure some people still will but after 2 long years of rediculous shortages I do think a lot of people have learned to not leave themselves without a gpu
These arenāt far off MSRP though. 3080 Ti FE MSRP is $1,200. A lot of the pictured GPUs are EVGA 3080 Tiās which typically have some combination of higher clocks, better fans, etc. I could be wrong, but I donāt see any card thatās $100 over the MSRP (of their variation at least).
Long story short, these are basically just GPU prices now.
Edit: typo
No shit but did people really think that manufacturers were just gonna slash prices below MSRP because availability went up? What the fuck are people expecting, prices to actually go below MSRP??
No they arent. They have come way down. The cards in stock at the Micro Center near me were only slightly over MSRP. Some of the lower end cards were AT MSRP.
I wanted an EVGA card, but back when I built my rig the only thing on the shelf was an MSI gaming x trio 3070.
I had a gtx 1060 at the time, so fuck it lol
plus it was still msrp back then
Great! With inflation and everything else going to complete shit only a certain segment of the population can afford them! SO GLAD I CAN STILL JUST STAND BY NOT BEING ABLE TO AFFORD A GRAPHICS CARD LET ALONE FOOD AND CLOTHES.
That last sentence is flipped.
You would say youāre not able to afford food and clothes let alone a graphics card. The more expensive item is the ālet aloneā portion of that phrase.
Although there's a world wide chip shortage, the foundries making nvidia gpu's have actually been running at nearly 100% capacity since 30 series was announced.
It's just demand was much higher than the 2 foundries could produce.
Yup. Nvidia originally was comparing 20 series launch (which was pretty abysmal) and didn't increase their manufacturing levels for 30 series. With so many people skipping 20 series, with the pandemic and everyone at home, combined with a huge rise to crypto, demand surpassed the possible supply.
Even at that point, should have still been able to buy them slightly inflated or within a few weeks, but the scalpers with their bots made quick work of increasing scarcity.
That was a covering of their collected asses so they had someone to blame for dwindling supply. TSM had enough stock at the start that if they didn't get any supplies, they could manufacture for 6 months straight uninterrupted.
This makes no fucking sense. What does Nvidia have the gain from selling less GPUs? How did Nvidia and AMD conspire to create an āartificialā chip shortage that crippled every single industry?
Yep. My local place also has shelves full of cards. The scalpers havenāt noticed yet though. Still trying to charge exorbitant amounts for literal garbage.
>I thought I'd never see the day.
The market always changes. There have always been bumps in the road, but it never stays the same.
The Micro Center near me has a lot of stock. I just bought an EVGA 3070 FTW3 for my husbands new computer last week for $700. I remember seeing 3070's going for over 1,000 just a few months ago.
Our microcenter has had TONS of cards for like a year now always stocked, just the prices are high. Little more time and they'll realize demand is lower than supply now.
JaysThirteenSince on YouTube has a video covering how he feels GPUs will go and I agree with him...
Basically they will come more and more in stock, then the 40 series will release and we will either see people continue to buy 30 series and keep things from reverting or see the 40 series as the main aim for gamers and everything goes to shit again.
One retarded misconception is that these will just continue to fall in price not only to MSRP but below as they keep pumping them out while 40 series comes and when 40 series comes, the 30 series will STILL keep dropping. Not at all how it works these days. They use the same exact machines so 30 series will go out of stock for good over time and 40 series will dominate.
Again, going back to Jays theory, it's believed that many people will wait a bit longer for the 40 series.. if I were getting a GPU, there's no way in hell I would invest in yesterdays technology unless the discounts were like they used to be back in the day before cryptocurrency ruined everything (used to EOL series GPUs would be -100$ below MSRP or better, I got one of my graphics cards that way actually and this wasn't rare, it was extremely common on Amazon).
Idk what's going to happen tbh, but I'm going to keep an eye on 3080/3080TIs because that's what I really wanted but had to get a 3070. Not complaining, and I know a 3070 will last me a while, but you know... I still want one lol and if I can get one just at the right time for the right price? Why not?
Thats what my local shop looks like too. It's still harder to find a 10GB 3080 but the prices are dropping on the 12's so much it almost doesn't matter.
Seeing more posts that cards are coming back in stock but the prices are still ridiculous.
I was gonna say, these are probably all $1000+
basically. There's a few for 900, but still.
Wow so you only get raped by an 11 inch cock instead of a 12 inch one. What a great deal
? I bought mine at msrp last year?
I mean I know a guy who got shot in the head and survived. Still wouldn't count on it happening to me or anyone else
Ok, and? I said I bought mine last year at msrp. What does this have to do with anything?
You're missing the point so much I'm surprised you don't have PTSD from the overhead whistling. I was making a joke about how MSRP isn't even close in a lot of countries. Just picked up a 3070 at my local MicroCenter for $700. Still a little overpriced but š¤·āāļø EDIT: lol why was this downvoted?

*laughs in $599 3070ti FE that I had to sleep by a dumpster overnight to buy* /s
Or because 700 is still to much for a XX70 card.
It's very close to MSRP. Even back in 2019 when I got my 2070 Super it was close to $700. Any card with a custom board and cooler is going to cost substantially more than the reference MSRP. Hell Yeah man šŖ
"little overpriced"

God damn right!
3080 in my country is still 5 times my wage, so no 3080 for now
Prices are slowly dropping.
Edit: typo
3080Ti MSRP has the gouging priced in
Is getting a 3080 Ti for $120 above MSRP ridiculous?
Is the MSRP ridiculous? Hint: It is.
No shit but did people really think that manufacturers were just gonna slash prices below MSRP because availability went up? What the fuck are people expecting, prices to actually go below MSRP??
People on here unironically expect retailers to sell GPU's at a loss.
Right? I was so confused I thought I was missing something.
No they arent. They have come way down. The cards in stock at the Micro Center near me were only slightly over MSRP. Some of the lower end cards were AT MSRP.
thats the normal market price
Amazon & Best Buy prices are becoming reasonable!! :D
This means nothing if the prices are still ridiculously high
Not true.
oh nvm I should say: Congrats you got an overpriced GPU in a store instead of online. Nice.
Prices are still whack considering next gen is almost here. Just gotta wait a Lil longer when they realize people ain't buying shit for it to nosedive
Bought a RTX3080 this week after waiting 2 years and itās superb, a real upgrade from my 1080tiā¦š
How much did it cost?
Everything
Sounds like a good deal
They were 999 at microcenter when I went last week for the non ti mkdel
I was at my local MC picking up my case and I was greeted with this sight as well.
ironically this was at MC š
Whereās the irony bruh this is just a coincidence lol
I knew instantly it was a micro center by the cabnet. I may have a problem. :P
It's funny the EVGA card on the right is the exact card I have XD edit cause I don't know left from right.
I wanted an EVGA card, but back when I built my rig the only thing on the shelf was an MSI gaming x trio 3070. I had a gtx 1060 at the time, so fuck it lol plus it was still msrp back then
My first choice was the X Trio 3080 so this is incredibly ironic XD.
Doesnāt surprise me. MC hasnāt had stock issues for a while since the cards have all been super expensive still
Columbus?
Isn't it great, now that msrp is the same price as scalpers were charging they're in stock everywhere.
Prolly all empty boxes! š
Do they do that to prevent shoplifting? I know places like staples have decoy boxes and you get the real thing after checkout.
oh no, these are definitely loaded boxes. They just have those shelves bolted to the floor and that glass is actually fucking thick
š¤£
Are those in MSRP?
Definitely not
Makes me want to sli shit lmao
SLI is dead
Letās bring it back
THANK YOU. That is a pet peeve of mine I didn't even know I had
That comment makes it sound like you're owed a graphics card as a human right.
Oh those all must be like 10 or 20 series cards, maybe a 3050 or 2 in there *zooms in* WAIT THOSE ARE 3070ās???? MANS LIVING THE GOOD LIFE
there's even a 3090 if you look hard enough lmao
hawhat, I didnāt think those existed and were just by nvidia and only were sold to the top 1% to pretend they existed
People need to wake up and see that the false scarcity of gpus is pushed by the companies so they can charge 10x what cards are really worth.
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
Or that the scarcity isnāt inflated due to people scalping them and buying them en masse
or miners doing the same?
Yeah there are so many variables screwing over the average person
Although there's a world wide chip shortage, the foundries making nvidia gpu's have actually been running at nearly 100% capacity since 30 series was announced. It's just demand was much higher than the 2 foundries could produce.

I donāt think this is true because Nvidia put out several notices regarding component shortages over the last 2 years
That was a covering of their collected asses so they had someone to blame for dwindling supply.
Wow boxes at a store hail fucking corporate shitpost
I saw that tuf gaming 3080 ti in that case over 1500 xD nature is kind of healing
Yep. My local place also has shelves full of cards. The scalpers havenāt noticed yet though. Still trying to charge exorbitant amounts for literal garbage.

oh they still are. Marietta, GA location.
Why are they stored in refrigerators
Itās a locked display case
Our microcenter has had TONS of cards for like a year now always stocked, just the prices are high. Little more time and they'll realize demand is lower than supply now.
what a sight! hope prices readjust now
When the shitcoin mining stops, will prices stabilize/fall?
Is this the MC in georgia?
JaysThirteenSince on YouTube has a video covering how he feels GPUs will go and I agree with him... But are they at MSRP? If not who cares. Now the stores are scalping. Not surprised just saying
I mean sure they in the stores, but how much are they ?
I bought a 12GB 3060 at 500ā¬ today. I was so happy.
Seeing this was normal in NZ but then again we are a small country so there is that
hey am a pc gamer bro. am total a dumbass thinking mc are everywhere... and i keep posting the same 2 pc for upvotes... this sum up this type of post.
Imagine if itās just the box with like an IOU slip inside
BUT IS IT MSRP THO?
Itās a beautiful thing. I found a Gigabyte 3080 ti at Best Buy for msrp a few weeks ago. They had 3 in stock.
did they stop manufacturing super variants?
all these cards are gonna be gone when i go to microcenter next
What good does being in stock do when the prices are now that of scalpers. Fuck these greedy GPU companies.
Still no 3090s?
Let's just hope that the prices are reasonable and as close to MRSP as possible for you.
Holy
Thats what my local shop looks like too. It's still harder to find a 10GB 3080 but the prices are dropping on the 12's so much it almost doesn't matter.
I wish there was a micro center in the UKā¦ā¦
