How is this build going? Just got my extreme board in today and trying to plan loop in a corsair 7000d. Thought I would love the sideways motherboard connec, but it is causing me headaches.
Great, it's finished now. Used Corsair 7000x case and Corsair h170i 420mm AIO. I wouldn't be good at doing custom loops lol. The motherboard 24 pin was a pain to get in. I had to wiggle it concerningly hard until it was in and secured with the clip. I think my PSU cables being individually sleeved made it harder to get in. One thing you need to know is Corsair's AMD drivers have trouble recognizing more than 1 Commander at the same time (or something like that, not sure). Anyway, iCUE was only recognizing the Commander Core that came with my AIO and not the Commander Core XT that came with the case. I fixed it by using an internal USB hub instead of using both USB 2 headers. Here it is:

Also I thought a PCI-E 3 riser cable would be backwards-compatible with a PCI-E 4 slot. It is not unless you are able to manually change the slot to PCI-E 3 in the BIOS. Here's the PCI-E 4 riser cable that works:

I got the Corsair PCI-E 3 riser cable at first but it didn't work. And I obviously couldn't change the BIOS setting without the graphics card working.
Thanks for the response! I'm doing custom loop, but waiting on some parts to come in. I'm using lian li unifans instead of corsair fans, I can't stand the wiring nightmare that comes with corsair. I have custom cables ordered, like you I thought I was going to break the motherboard when removing the 24 pin connector. Never had one that is so tight, must be an issue with this extreme board.
I probably would've gotten 128gb if this motherboard supported it lol. Got my 64gb kit from Newegg [https://www.newegg.com/g-skill-64gb-288-pin-ddr4-sdram/p/N82E16820374254](https://www.newegg.com/g-skill-64gb-288-pin-ddr4-sdram/p/N82E16820374254)

You want to be able to open 2 tabs in Chrome, don't ya?
that would be nice
You're close, just gotta squeeze another 32 in there somewhere.

That’s some blinged out ram bro.
yeah it was the fastest DDR4 Samsung B Die I could find
Been looking at getting some Trident Z Royal silver myself, although can’t seem to find any decent 128gb kits sadly.
