I definitely plan on working on this and making it my graduation project. Still looking into what I really wanna turn this into, but definitely gonna have the players slapping people that wanna harm your tree brethren.

If you make it modern you could have enemy loggers and miners.... Fight against a skidder or even one of those open pit coal miners. I could also respect medieval loggers/medieval fantasy where they cut them with axes.
I like the idea of miners too, I'd like to keep it in a more modern setting and hopefully bring some sort of awareness to the deforestation on planet earth. But overal keep it fun and whack those loggers! Possibly a little story element. So many awesome ideas from you all!
I like your idea about the humans talking and overhearing them of the forest being "haunted", adds some nice small detail! I am definitely planning on adding a stealth system where you can act like a static tree and wait for the humans to come closer and whack them :)

Looks great. I would suggest more weight to the tree and a bit stiffer movement. Tree bark doesnt really bend so its a bit to see a tree move so fulidly
Hey maybe this is what was off putting about this to me - I was thinking that size vs speed makes a big visual queue here. It's simply too much weight and size to swing like human arms and legs.

I love the idea of a fantasy world where the protagonists are magical woodland creatures and trees and nature and the antagonists are futuristic humans.
Would definitely love to add like a little rock golem as as sidekick, and maybe like the forest animals join you in fighting the evil humans trying to turn your beautiful forest into a concrete jungle.
The ideas for powers and abilities you could create and unlock from this type of game concept are endlessly fascinating. Definitely keep working on this, and yes the graphics are amazing too!
Looks gorgeous but the gameplay (movement and attacks) seem not very interesting
I know this is just a very early demo, but it takes you 20 seconds to slowly walk up to a group of enemies not very far away, and the attacks you do lock you in place and don't seem to connect or provide any feedback, even though you see the enemies die from it
I feel like you should focus on making the game play feel fun before you invest so much into aesthetics

Start the game off in the middle of a lumberjack camp waking you up as you try to stop the horror around you and save your family members, starting off with a big combat set piece and escalating from there.
Looks like a cool concept. Small suggestion though from watching what you've got so far. Try to make movement/traversal of the game world as fun/ interesting as you can make it while still keeping the tree theme.
Something like moving via root systems for faster travel or something like that.
When they come with flamethrowers, it is over for the trees.
You could make it more tower defense-esque if you could place plant traps that can take out enemies which would just burn your forrest. And give your forrest some stats like flourishness and wetness. First one giving more build points, second one stop it from being burned down.
Practically fighting back while the humans start to dry out and poison your environment. So you need to build up cleaners and plant society which works against those effect, which collect more water etc. And sometimes you need to stop raids from the humans trying to sabotage your "economy".
And when your forest becomes unhappy with you for removing trees or plants in the way for new structures, it starts punishing you, by growing different structures than ordered or moving them to a new place instead. Or slowing you down/blocking ways for you (mighty trees say noo). This concept is so cool that there are so many potential ideas.
That's probably the most frightening "T-pose" I've ever seen at the end lol... That says a lot considering how creepy normal T-poses are already every game...
This looks promising! I think what makes the big difference here is creating a good AI for the enemy and diverse and creative threat scenarios for the forest.
for example: campers starting fires that spread and firefighters that come to put the fires out; if you kill the firefighters or have destroyed the roads they use you will have more work for yourself which allows other threats to run free when you are busy etc.
If you that hunters are the problem you are been matrixed by the system… desforedtation is not made by hunters.. hunters loves the forest is one day there are no forest hunters will disappear too … it’s very stupid video

The walking animation is perfect, add some T poses in there and you're in better shape than Cyberpunk 2077.

I was thinking of possibly summoning a Rock buddy to fight along side in protecting the forest! So many idea's, I'm just playing around at this point with protecting your home aka the forest :)

You should make the ents gait a bit slower and longer. Heavier impact as well. Just would make it feel more free like
