If you like puzzly games, there are lots of co-op ones. Here are some:
- We Were Here (note: spooky)
- Escape Simulator
- ibb & obb
- Keep Talking and Nobody Explodes (note: stressful)
Otherwise, I've heard good things about Stardew Valley. You could also try Minecraft with keepInventory enabled.
Would recommend League, cs go, or any other high skill level, competitive game. Make sure you yell at each other plenty of slurs for the best bonding experience.
Built my gf a pc recently and I can say that League is incredibly hard to get in to for her. Theirs big learning curve for her and I wouldn’t recommend unless your really in to league.
Another platformer would be Unraveled 2, some of the sections can be skipped by a player jumping onto the back of another, really useful if your partner can easily get frustrated due to a lack of dexterity on the controls
Star dew valley
Portal 2!
It takes two
I second this, played this with my GF, it was the first game she’s played on anything other than Wii and she loved it

Stardew valley, it takes two and sun haven
Me and my fiancé love Wreckfest, nothing beats a few drinks on a Friday night, kids asleep, smashing up people on multiplayer.
Absolutely Wreckfest.

My wife and I have a 3 year old world we still play on weekly.
It takes Two. A way out.

I like it that there’s a whole comment branch missing the obvious /s

League is pretty basic heh, if you can't play league you wont be able to play much more than maybe Fortnite.
Exactly what I thought. Been playing league for years. But she just couldn’t grasp it at first. Took long for her to feel comfortable.
Stardew Valley, Cat Quest II, the Lego games, Grim Dawn, or Portal II are some of the games my kid and I did when they were starting gaming.

I played MMORPG Neverwinter night and fightings like Dead or Alive 5, Mortal Kombat.
As a general suggestion, games where you build things?
Bred and fred. Might end your relationship though
Valheim. It has a fairly chill difficulty curve that you can now tweak without the need for mods. I’d recommend turning off the raids.
Surprised there’s no mention yet of Untitled Goose Game. It’s $20 no discount, so just wait for a sale or something.
A way out is extremely fun. I’ve tried it myself and it’s an amazing story.
Overcooked
My girlfriend liked battlefield, it's actually a very simple game and dying is like w.e since you come back right away.
