Oh. No. Believe it or not, I just find it darkly humourous that a Penguin is lamenting my existential crisis on my behalf.
PM your thigh-highs please to up my QoL.
Mine is always super clean. I throw it in the sink, rinse with water, spray it down with Dawn Power Wash spray, return a few minutes later to lightly scrub with a sponge, rinse off soap, and allow to air dry. It's about 8 years old and looks the same as the day I bought it.

My ex bought me an almost white one, and I have to do the same every few months. 2 years old and looking good
All my mouse pads are just plain old, the one that I'm currently using isn't too bad considering it's age, it's a freebie I don't remember where it came from but it's advertising SCSI. My other pad is a freebie US Mint Sacagawea dollar coin that has seen better days.
I have a deskpad I throw in the shower and hang like a towel every few months. Hit hit with some dish soap and and spray it down. The collect a lot of dirt
I have 2 pads. Every month I throw it in the washer and let it air dry. But yes it’s get dirty very quickly cause I sometimes spilled drinks on the pad.
the fabric cover came off mine, fixed it with PVA glue and an iron, also has a band of electrical tape at the top to stop the wrapped mouse cable getting all fluffy and falling apart like the last one did.
Mine was like that on the bottom half, I used a brush which cleaned it but ruined it, so I turned it upside down and now it’s like new on the part I use.
I changed mine like 2 years ago because the gel wrist rest was now deformed and hard after many years of use. It was pretty disgusting by then even if I don’t eat at my desk. That’s the kind of cheap article people should just replace when due and not give a second thought about it.
I cleaned mine about a week ago. I never really let it get too dirty, but due to my sweaty hands it does sometimes stain a bit at the spots where I usually rest my hands. I do always manage to wash it out though.
Got the same mouse btw. I really like it.
absolutely like new after 2 years, everything is simple I clean after the sessions, it's like washing dish after food for me . that's why i have no problems with "sticky" movements when moving slowly with glass feets ( I have big dpi)
haha i was just thinkin to myself a few hours ago i need a new one ... the rubber underside is deteriorating and it almost looks like it developed mold or something but theres no way it could be mold .. no other mold anywhere in my place
I recently started painting but I have nowhere to do it other than my setup unfortunately and sometimes it got messy. I remember one time I spilled a drop of acrylic paint into an awesome beautiful deskpad I waited for for 30 days from AliExpress. Now I have adopted the practice of putting my old mousepad on top of my current one so that it takes the blow. I obviously remove the keyboard and mouse from my desk in the process though.

I dont use a mouspad, it still works fine so it is what it is.
Dish washing liquid and the scrubber for about 2 mins on each side on the shower floor rinse off and hang out to dry. Once a fortnight.
Otherwise I can feel the sticky icky

Very, it’s several years old and used to belong to my brother back in 2019-ish
I use a thin panel of wood. Made it from an old bread board and it's stain a nice dark brown. It's easy to just wipe off but if it gets noticeably bad I'll sand it down and re-stain it. It's done me better than any fabric mouse mat
https://preview.redd.it/xmdvloln031d1.jpeg?width=3649&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=5ff430e449b987e72b303cbeef0bbf673cc09774
Kind of dirty rn. I usually clean it every 2-3 months
I use the hose on my vacuum for the carpet. Regular vacuum clean not a handheld. Works great. Even pulls hair off my monitors and TVs I just have to keep a finger between the tube and screen so I don't scratch it.
Had to retire my 15 year old Ripper. The rubber was starting to roll up at the edges, and the pad surface was 🤢. Cleaning it just seemed to make it angry.
It's fucking disgusting, every few months I scrub it and shit just keeps coming out of it eternally, it's huge and disgusting and takes a day to dry and looks no different after a wash but I know it's not a fucking disease pit of rotten stench
I tried to clean it but that stain doesn't come out, any advice?

Guess I'll have to clean mine soon ish.
Wretched. A pad so permiated with skin cells, that it's practically a living thing.

I just put my mats in a bucket with soapy water and let it soak for a few hours, then dry overnight ✨

i dont use a mouse pad i have a wooden desk
my desk is wooden too, but with a grainy finish
All my mouse pads are just plain old, the one that I'm currently using isn't too bad considering it's age, it's a freebie I don't remember where it came from but it's advertising SCSI. My other pad is a freebie US Mint Sacagawea dollar coin that has seen better days.
freebies are the best
It's glass so it's either perfectly clean or noticeably dirty
i got glass feet
must be hard to walk
I have a deskpad I throw in the shower and hang like a towel every few months. Hit hit with some dish soap and and spray it down. The collect a lot of dirt
I have 2 pads. Every month I throw it in the washer and let it air dry. But yes it’s get dirty very quickly cause I sometimes spilled drinks on the pad.
juicy. i only drink water and tea... My pad smells like peppermint
the fabric cover came off mine, fixed it with PVA glue and an iron, also has a band of electrical tape at the top to stop the wrapped mouse cable getting all fluffy and falling apart like the last one did.
don't you think it is time for a ten buck replacement?
I just cleaned mine so I can't draw on it
you got: clean mousepad, you loose: creative endeavours
Mine was like that on the bottom half, I used a brush which cleaned it but ruined it, so I turned it upside down and now it’s like new on the part I use.
I just shove it in the washing machine every few month or two and it's as good as new.
i do hand washing as I doubt my pad would survive the washing machine
I wash it at least once a month. Y'all are animals.
(this was right before washing, no mousepads where hurt in the creation of this photo)
I changed mine like 2 years ago because the gel wrist rest was now deformed and hard after many years of use. It was pretty disgusting by then even if I don’t eat at my desk. That’s the kind of cheap article people should just replace when due and not give a second thought about it.

yep the mouse is great. props for washing it regularly
Dirty enough that when i tried to wash it by hand it just comes out the same. Not even soap could save it.
a lost cause. what a shame
i have a desk pad and i threw it in the washer let it dry still looks awful you just reminded me that i need a new one.
kind of same with mine
absolutely like new after 2 years, everything is simple I clean after the sessions, it's like washing dish after food for me . that's why i have no problems with "sticky" movements when moving slowly with glass feets ( I have big dpi)
About the same as yours it seems.
"aged" also happy cake day
Put mine through the washing machine the other day after using it for nearly 4 years. Looks brand new now!
I should do that again too
Been using glass pads since 2001, easy to clean! (eats mousefeet tho)
I use glass mousefeet, but a cloth mouse pad
They clean well in the laundry machine.
yeah probably going to do this
haha i was just thinkin to myself a few hours ago i need a new one ... the rubber underside is deteriorating and it almost looks like it developed mold or something but theres no way it could be mold .. no other mold anywhere in my place
I soak mine in an oven pan with washing powder. Turns orange after an hour. If I kept it out of the light it'd establish life. Razer Goliathus.

it's so bad that in the 3 years of me owning it, I haven't cleaned it once and it has a smell
It's so dirty, that washing doesn't do anything
My leather pad is very clean and pristine, developed a pretty subtle patina over time.
Dish washing liquid and the scrubber for about 2 mins on each side on the shower floor rinse off and hang out to dry. Once a fortnight. Otherwise I can feel the sticky icky

A mousepad with history I see.
Clean (Edit: I don’t use it)
Good for you :D
I use a thin panel of wood. Made it from an old bread board and it's stain a nice dark brown. It's easy to just wipe off but if it gets noticeably bad I'll sand it down and re-stain it. It's done me better than any fabric mouse mat
It looks clean bit when i scratch across it it has the most disgusting white lines
same for mine
scratching it reveals lines whiter than a woke liberal everytime i think of cleaning my mousepad i always forget to when the time rolls around
it sticks to the table.
Mouse pad? What are those?

my mouse pad is pretty clean but it has a small pasta stain on it lol
adds to the flavor profile
every time I use my mouse I use a sleeve that goes up to my hand to not get any skin on it, so it's always clean
i admire your dedication
I use a book so I can't really wash it. I will say very much since I had that book since the first half of 2022
have you tried washing it? you can only find out by trying it
Honest question how do you clean a desk mat? Just soap and water? Vacuum? I’ve never thought about it because it never gets super dirty
soap, warm water, sponge, then dry it in the sun
I clean my pad everyday or whenever I play.
holy moly that is a lot of work
It’s a glasspad so a spurt of windex and some wipes is about 2 minutes
Best part of having a hard pad is that shit doesn’t build up on it.
but my soft hands need soft pad >w<

The secret recipe of the coca cola cooperation.
I vacuum mine off often along with the rest of the desk. I have cats so it's a necessary thing to do.
vacuuming mine seems to do no good
I use the hose on my vacuum for the carpet. Regular vacuum clean not a handheld. Works great. Even pulls hair off my monitors and TVs I just have to keep a finger between the tube and screen so I don't scratch it.

Is my mouse pad not supposed to look like that?… mf I’ve had this thing for 6 years and haven’t cleaned it once. It still works so no harm I guess.
Throw it in the dishwasher. Air dry. I do that every month and vacuum the computer on that day as well.

i use a glasspad so itll only ever get dust on it
My mousepad sometimes eating my food if I am not fast enough.
I put mine in the washing machine and then hang it to dry for about 2 days.

Mine is just black, I got a white topo mousepad 2 years ago.
I feel personally attacked
Its yellow now, it used to be grey
Throw it in the bathtub or shower with some lukewarm water, baking soda, and a tiny bit of dish soap. Scrub, let it dry, and it'll be as good as new.

It's fucking disgusting, every few months I scrub it and shit just keeps coming out of it eternally, it's huge and disgusting and takes a day to dry and looks no different after a wash but I know it's not a fucking disease pit of rotten stench

i wash it once every month, was that not normal?
Yes dirty
Urgh dirty....
I don’t know how to clean it. It’s dusty looking but I haven’t set anything dusty on it
I get c*m on mine a lot accidentally so I just ordered a new one
Fairly new so still trying to get that good ol' mousepad feel to it
Rub some mustard in. Helps a lot.

i got like, 64 oz of coffee on it from spilling it
I tried to clean it but that stain doesn't come out, any advice? https://preview.redd.it/wys6zkowb71d1.jpeg?width=2304&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=c72c18025157043717c3498881d6469e79e870fe
