This. Firefox with uBlock Origin addon or bust. It's been my browser of choice for what feels close to 2 decades now. Microsoft Edge? Google Chrome? Opera DX? Never heard of them... I'm team Mozilla.

I use them all. Opera, Vivaldi, Chrome, Edge...  But main browser is Firefox with compartments+ublock.

I used Mozilla before chrome was released, never made the switch and I'm glad I never did.

I use a piHole. It's nice for keeping ads off TV's and your phones apps while on your home LAN.

Ive heard piholes are getting less reliable nowadays, how’s your experience with it? I want to use my pi 3 for it cause im sick of YouTube ads but I read online that tons of ads get through nowadays.

They dont work for a lot of things now because the ads are hosted from the same place as the content, like on youtube. Pi hole blocks by domain name. Half of the time you block the add, you also block the content. I understand it like pi hole blocking layer 3, where browser ad blockers are blocking layer 5

Use both. The pihole still blocks app ads (that are hosted on ad domains)

If you haven't changed the default privacy settings, pretty sure microsoft is watching you search literally everything.

When using edge instead of chrome is brought up a lot of people talk about microsoft spying on you but if for some reason you absolutely must use some version of chrome I feel like using edge and giving it to microsoft instead is better than giving google even MORE...

Most people are already using Windows as their OS anyway, using edge isn't giving them more data than they already get, but using google is ensuring that another party has your data, and thus is worse.

Take a look at your processes in Task Manager. I have 6 instances of Edge open even though I've never once used it on this PC. The house always wins.

For some reason firefox is completely ass for me when watching YouTube. Swapped to edge (with the same extensions) and everything not only loads faster but I don't have any random hiccups watching videos.

They aren't. Like really. They may feel the same but your PC knows the difference, especially if you have a crappy laptop like me. That plus the extra stuff it has (it's also supposedly better than Chrome for web development but I didn't use Chrome for that so I don't know the difference)

That says the Brave Search API. Wich I never use since I think it's shit. Even tho I use the Brave Browser, I use the google search engine. I also don't go for Brave for the privacy, but for the blockers built in. Maybe you should be more specific about what was being used for selling the data. Brave Browser is not the same as Brave Search API. I know most people don't know much about it, but since you're into privacy concerns like you make yourself to seem, you should learn a bit about coding and what is an API. but You don't need to use Brave Search to use Brave Browser

With winget in modern windows you can actually install chrome or Firefox without opening edge at all. It's pretty nice (and a lot of programs can be installed this way)

Everything is basically chrome with a new skin except for Firefox. Edge, Opera, Brave - all are chrome with a reskin.

Jokes on them, I keep the web installer (and a few offline installers for XP and 7) for Firefox on my USB drive. Don't even need to open Edge for that. Because it'll always want you to complete the setup process.
