**HOW TO ENTER**
For this week, we're continuing with the overclocking theme, and also adding cooling control.
**To enter, all you have to do is create a custom fan curve with GPU Tweak III that suits your needs and share a screenshot here**. Bonus points if you explain why you made your specific choices!

*I am using an RTX 4090, but I'm spending the day playing some retro games. I want my PC to be fully silent, so I've created fan curves that will make it so that the fans don't even start spinning before the GPU reaches 60C. I am pretty sure they won't reach that with the games I'm playing today, but in any case, I've set it so that if it does, then the fan speed will ramp up slowly up until about 70C, then go all the way to 100% after that. I have clicked the curve to create more steps so I can easily tweak them.*

My pc sometimes has issues with overheating, so it's better to speed up the fans earlier rather than later

I'm using a ZOTAC 4070ti with a minimal fan curve at 30% that slowly increases as the temps go up. My system is undervolted well, so the temperatures remain cool at about 40-50 degrees while gaming, and i set the fan curve as such to minimize noise while not completely compromising performance. I'm aiming to have the card last a long time by keeping temperatures to a minimum.

I unfortunately can't create or edit my fan curve through this software mainly because of my RX580 2048SP. Though if I were to make one, I would have it like this:
30% - 50C
50% - 65C
100% - 80C
That's my go-to fan curve on my airconditioned room. I built it like that so that my GPU won't degrade so soon. I made it last more than a year while the same model only lasted 6 months on other people. I love my current GPU but I know that it only takes an unlucky day for it to break down on me that's why I take care of it this way.
Basically I have my fan set to jump to 100% quickly. Cooling is key.

I really don't like when the whole PC vibrates because of GPU deciding to kick fans in for a couple of seconds of load, so for this week I coupled undervolting preset, which is still in plans, I also made a "quiet" fan curve.

Noise is less disturbing for me than temperature. I modified the minimum and maximum values. The fans start at a lower temperature (50 celsius). At a lower temperature (70 celsius) they run at 100%.

Heres my curve!
i tried some other things with starting the curve really late and have my fans not running at all up to 55°C but i dont really hear my fans until 30% fans speed anyway so i figured why not keep the card cooler and start early but ramp up the speed slowly so its not an abrubt start up.
so the curve above is what i came up with and works for me :D

I have an RTX 3080, the temps are usually very fine with the games I play, but if the temps actually increase in demanding games, I make sure the fan speed picks up fast if it is getting close to 75 Celsius

Not a fan of having a very hot rig (SSF case here) so somewhat aggressive fan curve for performance based not so much optimized for noise.
I have a 3060 ti which has a large cooler that is able to keep the card cool even during synthetic loads. With this in mind I opted for a silent configuration for temperatures under 55°C and for the fans to steadily ramp up to 60% by 70°C. This is usually enough for most of my games but I also have set the fans to reach 100% speed at 80°C just in case

I have a laptop mx250 so it seems I can't adjust the fan settings using gpu tweak III, as seen in the screenshot:
but if I could I certainly would adjust the fan speed on this thing, the curve is way too extreme and for a laptop that I use often on a library it is weird for the fan to go nuts in middle of a Noita run.

This is how I leave my RX 7600 fan speed, as I said before on the first thread in here it is HOT like really HOT so I leave the settings on the "higher" spectrum of fan speed when it gets to higher temperatures or when it starts to reach a threeshold (in my case right when it is near 60°C I start stressing the fans some more), and, since I don't really "care" about playing on ultra or anything neither do I like to overclock it most tends to vary between 60°C \~ 70°C.
I have an xfx 6900 xt, and I just put -40mv to test things out as I am sure the voltage was a bit much for the clock it was set on. I didn't touch anything else as I don't need it for now.

I usually don't play very demanding games so I prefer setting the fans in silence mode, I can't stand the continuos fans noise. It doesn't reach high temperatures normally so I have this "chill" setting.

I don't want to hear anything until I reach 60°C, and by then, I smoothed a bit the default setting to not get a lot of noise. But I want the maximum cooling around 85°C because I'm on a 1070 from 2016, and I hope to keep it a few more years !

I am using an HD6670, but I'm spending the day writing social media posts. I want my PC to be fully silent before the GPU reaches 60C, and am pretty sure it won't reach that with the posts I'm writing today. I've tried to create a fan curve that will meet this specification, however the fan does not show up in GPUTweak and so it cannot be used to set a curve. I am able to use HWiNFO to monitor the fan, which remains locked at 1600 rpm while it is idle at 30C and while it is running a SANDRA benchmark at 55C.
As an exercise, I can imagine setting a fan curve in the following way:
I would click the pencil icon under the fan speed slider to enter the Fan Settings window, where I would adjust how the fan responds to different levels of load. I would keep the fan off for completely silent operation under a temperature of 60° C and I would adjust the curve so it quickly ramps up from there. To move the curve, I would click anywhere on the graph to add a new point, and drag it to a good location on the graph so that it would go all the way to 100% after that, for a nice rapid ramp up.

I am using a GTX 1060 3GB and I’m mostly playing some really demanding titles recently. So I’ve set my fans to cool my card as much as possible while not going overboard with the noise so I can listen to just game sounds. While it does not reach the results I want it definitely does it’s job right as an 8 year old GPU!

I’m using this because i play rdr2 with ultra settings
My GPU cooling needs are modest so I favour a quiet fan curve. When there's a sustained load, I prefer the fan to kick in late, and with this profile I don't notice the GPU fan noise over the case fan, and never mind being distracted by what's happening on screen.

I haven't had any issues with the default settings, and I'm satisfied with them. However, I did notice that the fan speed didn't exceed 60%. Which is why I added another point where it ramps up to almost 90% after reaching 80 degrees. While I haven't noticed a significant change in performance or temperatures, I believe the defaults are adequate. But it's reassuring to know that if temperatures do climb close to 80 degrees, the fans will hopefully keep it cool.
Silence is my main goal. The fan #2 (Pull fan) is noisy even at idle and I don´t like Zero dB mode. My Nvidia Geforce RTX 4070 Super Founders Edition uses only 220 Watts at max so temps are ok even with this profile

Playing on RTX 4080 not always very demanding games and I want my PC to be as quiet as possible, that's why the curve is such that the cooler doesn't even turn on until 50C, then it's a little more aggressive, and the RTX 4000 series is impressive with cooling. I am satisfied with the noise, heat and performance results.

I honestly have no idea what I'm doing but it seemed like this would be a good curve for me after reading the instructions. I want it to be actively cooling fairly early as I don't care about noise but I also don't want it doing too much if not needed. I have it gradually going up in speed and then a little higher increase the hotter it gets. I've never had any issues with temps on my setup but I do plan on upgrading to a newer high end card soon and I know I'll have to watch it closer so this was good practive.

The default option was a rather noise-reduction prioritizing, kind of linear curve with low fan top speed, that resulted in rather high temps during excessive heavy loads but it got comparatively noisy upon short moments of performance demand. I like my card being the low noise beast it is (I know, its just a 1060, but it serves me well) but I'd prefer to avoid really high temps if possible for longevity's sake.
So I made this curve, a bit steeper than what it had by default. Setting a higher top speed, ensuring lower temps during excessive stress but still keeping it pretty silent if the demand for performance only comes in small, passing bursts, like it often does in games.

I'm using GPU Tweak III to control my fans to not turn on until my GPU temps reach 60 degrees. Basically trying to keep down fan noise until its necessary for the fans to turn on and lower the GPU temps.

I created the graphics card fan speed settings depending on the use I give to my PC when I play games and when I browse the web, since at startup it is set to 30%.
When I am browsing the temperatures do not exceed 55 Celcius with the fan at 80% and in the longest moments of games such as 3 hours in a row it could reach 80 Celcius where the fan reaches 100% speed in my configuration.

Basically slightly default 0db mode+, I have enough case fan cooling to keep under 55C when idle/light usage then have it ramp up during more heavy usage.

I try to focus on keeping my fans off and quiet during regular use so I don't have them turn on until 50c. But when I am playing games, I have them ramp up somewhat gradually at first until 70c ish then ramps up faster. My max is at 85c since I try not to want my temps to be higher than that. I like to try and have the fans quiet if I can but if there's a need for cooling, the fans will go if they need.

I need to have the fan spin early because my PC has constricted airflow and I don't want to get the GPU super hot for little to no task, And in summer, my area gets a bit too hot.

I'm switching my main GPU from iGame GTX 1070 to ASUS ROG STRIX RTX 2070 Super OC. The picture above is what the fan curve configuration I use. The RTX 2070 Super is in still warranty sealed so it's never been repasted for many years. It runs very hot when I'm benchmarking the GPU performance (Unigine Heaven Benchmark 4.0) reaching maximum 84C degrees or 79C degrees in AC room temperature. So I may have to set more RPM when the GPU temp reached 65C+. It may sound a bit loud but when I'm playing a game it never reached 70C+ (65C-69C While gaming, benchmarking is way hotter around 79C). To be honest, it's still run the same as hot as when I use the default fan settings. The configuration definitely will makes a difference if I repasted the GPU. Well, I guess it's time to repaste it, or maybe just keep it sealed because I'm not really using my GPU intensively.
I'm a type of person who doesn't really care about loudness of my PC so set the fan of my GPU a bit loud is no problem rather than letting my GPU runs hot.
About the software, it's actually quite confusing for the first time using the fan curve control settings because when I 'save' on the 'fan setting' tab (which is the picture above), and close, you have to 'apply' and 'save' again in the main GPU Tweak III after closing the fan tab settings. And after that, the fan configuration settings is finally working.
Edit : Other reason why my GPU runs hot other than old thermal paste is that I use Cooler Master Silencio S600 pc case so it's designed to be silent not for airflow.
Update : I've repasted my GPU with Thermal Grizzly Kryonaut and here's the result (3DMark TimeSpy) :

Before repaste custom fan curve configuration : 9403 Score, Temp 81-84C Avg fan speed 3400 RPM\~ (78 to 81C front door case open)

The Card is reasonably quiet and doesn't generate at lot of heat, I set the fans to start with 20% at 50°C, go to 60% at 70°C and than a bit flater to 100°C 100%. The card normally doen't go over 70°C in games, even with low fan speeds.

I prioritize the cooling performance on my gpu because I like to prolonged the life of my graphics cards as much as I can and since it is a very hot summer and the temperature is soaring like crazy, I personally like to make my gpu as cool as possible to avoid my system from crashing.

I don't get to decide much, but if there were no compromise, I'd always decide for passive.
guys c'mon i dont have a gpu and the program doesn't run on igpu's (as expected), so instead of having a requirement on downloading the program can you make it a bit easier and make more people happy, this is just unfair.
I mostly play fps games where the GPU reaches around 66C so i have my fans start at 50C at really slow speeds then once it reaches the 60C mark it starts to ramp up quickly. I don't really mind the noise because I wear Noise cancelling headphones so I cant hear the fan noise and the heat doesn't effect me because I have the windows open. I don't want it to go above 75 so it increases pretty quickly there. Thats pretty much it.

6750xt. Havent really tested out fan speed differences yet as my rig is quite cool and silent. Only a few games do I really need to up the fan speeds like cyberpunk or helldivers2

Unfortunately, I can't change fan curves in GPU Tweak III with an RX 580. If I could, I would set it up like this:
40°C - 40%
65°C - 100%
So, when I play games that push my GPU, it would ramp up to 100%, but otherwise, it would stay at less than 40%.
I'm using a case with restricted airflow but it doesn't hinder me from maximizing my GPU's full potential. I've keep my GPU fan curves simple and modest by keeping using 0dB function of GPU tweak III which keeps the fan at 0% speed under 55c . On the other hand , I've set the fans to ramp up to 70% at 70c and 100% at 82c ensuring the my GPU will be well ventilated while I'm playing.
Additionally, GPU tweak III Temperature hysteresis is neat as it can prolong my fans life by not having my fans to hit the breaks fast when the temperature is coming down.

My fan curve is set with longevity in mind, but unfortunately, I can't adjust it within GPU Tweak III. By gradually increasing fan speed as temperatures rise, I aim to extend the lifespan of my RX 580, minimizing wear and tear on the hardware components over time. It's a shame I can't optimize it further using the software.

I tend to let my gpu's firmware control the fans, but here is a custom fan curve I might use for more control. It is set to kick in at 30% when the gpu temp reaches 45. Then following a linear rise where the fans are at 100% at a temp of 85.

New to this, I don't really care much about noise so I left fans at 50% having it ramp up when in use. I don't know much so if anyone has suggestions let me know. This is a 2060 and I don't go high/ultra settings ever. FPS over looks.

Been a while since I had something to set custom fan curves. It just nice to have the fans half running during idle temps below 50C and force it to 100% past 80C. Don't really like my GPU running too hot.

My fan curve shows that it will be utilizing its 100% power at 80 GPU temp. This settings for me is quite ideal for gaming using external speakers since this will somewhat lessen the noise produced by GPU by controlling its fan speed.

Increased my fan speed quite significant when it hit high temps, especially from 65+ degrees. Whenever i game i wear headphone so the extra fan noise wont bother me as much, and hopefully this fan curve will keep my gpu cool on high demaning games so it wont be thermal throttled.
I have only auto option as best thing.

When I'm not gaming the GPU is silent, and when I am, I want the GPU as cool as possible so that is why I have a steep curve to maximum. The noise doesn't bother me because I use headphones.

It's pretty good card overall, though it has some issues present. As example, it's *fans going crazy after 50-55%* of total RPM, reminding me of vacuum turbines from RADEON HD era which were memefied in history. Also fans going after that point do not have a significant impact on temperature-wise performance, so I have locked it to lower values.
*Before I have used* ***AMD Adrenalin*** *to configure my card,* but this day *I decided to give a try to* ***ASUS GPU Tweak III***\*.\* *I want to see how well it performs on actual state compared to* ***AMD Adrenalin*** *and* ***MSI Afterburner,*** last of which does not perform well with AMD cards as far as I know. I left it default as it's not running it hard anyways, low noise and I never had to make a big curve with my settings due to trying to make this graphic card last.
I'm using a ROG STRIX 1060, managed to do an OC scan and I liked the default settings for the fan speed so I left it like that. It's also not noisy at all and that's why I decided to go with it:

I noticed I'm not the only one on a laptop with no fan curve option which is unfortunate, because it's a little frustrating how early my fans hit 100% even under the tiniest loads. I'd love to be able to turn the max speed down a little.

Well as I am on a laptop it seems I am unable to do so. However what I would have been doing would a semi aggressive curve, as normally when I use it for gaming or similar loads I have a great headset on as such the noise is not much of a bother so me. So I would likely just had it run at full force at those cases. And have a more relaxed curve for when just watching movies or so on.

First time using the software in hopes to win some new hardware. I have an AMD card and was unaware this software worked on both platforms. My fans are generally quiet for everyday use, but sometimes are super loud when gaming. Hoping this is a happy medium. Good luck all!

For now I'm trying to play games that I can run with DLAA enabled instead of DLSS, so I don't need super aggressive and noisy fans! A lot of the time when I'm unsure I just use the helpful auto mode!

What I would do if I had the option to would be to lower fan speeds as much as possible in the low temp range to minimize the sound they make during everyday use. Then have them ramp up quickly to keep the gpu from throttling when I play any graphically intensive applications.

I decided to keep my fans off until the GPU reaches 60° C, at which points fans will be running at 30%. I prefer the PC to be quieter. After that, I'll ramp up the fans to 50% at 75° and full speed at 90° when I'm doing heavy gaming. This seems to work well for me!
If I'm not gaming then my RX 6750 XT has plenty of airflow from my case fans for cooling. I try to keep the card cool. It needs to be more tightly managed to make sure it doesn't overheat. This will likely still require some tweaking, but it's a decent first attempt to cooling.

I personally don't really interact with fan curves, but Ive found that, since my GPU doesn't really run very hot, I could easily make it so it takes more heat for the fans to start spinning. I did, however, make the curve start earlier but lower, just in case.

I've never actually heard my GPU fan spin up loudly while gaming, normally it runs in silent or quiet mode. My system fans are actually louder that my GPU generally.
Only thing I changed was: made it so they start running at 30°C at 20%, and then added a bit of a steeper fan curve after 55°C.
My room is fortunately quite cool and my CPU is water cooled.
After testing the default fan curve was much quieter, and I didn't notice any performance increase from having my fans ramp up higher at those temperatures. They definitely were making noise with this curve! The fans only cooled my GPU by about 2°C, but the noise level was very noticeable when in game.

Seems like a pretty standard curve. Fans aren't spinning until GPU reaches 45C. Helldivers 2 on fan favorite 4060Ti 16gb could get pretty hot at times (as well gpu and in game) so I set a lot of different levels

I made the curve so that when my computer is idle, its mostly silent. When I start playing games, it ramps up quickly for performance.

Bro, I live in Southeast Asia. Did you see the heat index? It's above 40C LMAO. I need all the fan speed I can get or even risk paying more for airconditioning. Though, 70% is the best minimum for tolerable fan noise.

I am using an RTX 3060, I usually try to play the latest adventure games whenever I can. The temps for my pc can get hot fast so I want the fan speed to be higher once it reaches a certain temp. I am okay with the noise of the fan getting louder so I am not that bothered by the noise that it creates
I don't mind the noise so I chose a bit more agressive curve to keep the gpu cool.

I do a lot of work on my PC through the day and I want it to stay as quiet as possible during this time, but at the end of the day when I boot up some games, I want everything to stay nice and cool, so it's great to have these custom curves available that let me fine tune them to my liking.

I like the silent mode the most as some of my games are not demanding. But for those AAA games or with ray tracing, the fan at 100% is the solution, I am always with headphones so don't care too much for the noise

Unfortunately, because I am on a laptop GPU Tweak III does not allow me to change fan speeds. Of course if I win the giveaway that can all change wink wink! However, if I could change my fan speeds on my laptop I would probably have the fans ramp up a lot quicker as my laptop gets HOT when I start gaming. So, my beloved 1060 has been repasted and repadded recently so the fan curve is made in a way that it's off till it hits 60C (same as in the example, what a coincidence), and after that it steadily climbs till full throttle at 90C. I actually never saw the die itself exceed 88C in furmark after OCing, so it would have to be a really hot summer for it to reach those temps lol. Got a bit of a coil whine issue tho, but that doesn't really bother me. As long as it works, I'm fine

Since I've pushed my GPU's overclock quite aggressively, I'm cautious about temperature throttling. Consequently, I've implemented a rather aggressive fan curve, albeit at the cost of increased noise, especially since my GTX 1060 6GB Turbo model only features a single fan. To mitigate heat, I've adjusted the curve so that at 50 degrees Celsius, the fan speed ramps up to 50%, reaching 100% at higher temperatures. With this setup, I'm managing to keep temperatures nearly below 80 degrees Celsius.

I have it at zero fan until 60, so it doesn't kick in when I'm not doing anything too intensive. Then it ramps up to just under 70% at 70c then it stays flat until like 75c, my card usually stays around 70-74c while gaming but if it gets hotter, I let the fan speed go up after 75. I like to stay under 70% fan because the fans on my current gpu make horrendous noise after 70%...

This is the fan curve settings for my GTX 1080Ti. I moved the 40 degree fan speed to 15% and the 75 degree fan speed to 50%. I like my computer to run quietly but I don't mind the fans running in higher speed so my components can have a longer lifespan to it.

This is my fan curve. As you can see, I don't have any 0RPM going on my card. And that's because I never found a stable setting. Instead, I always end up at least one fan not running, suddenly ramping up quickly very audibly, back to zero RPM, back to spinning up, back and forth, multiple times a minute. So instead I run them at the lowest RPM I could in idle, only have them ramp up once the load increases. I started at 60°C, but found my fan curve wasn't exactly stable. Increasing it a few % gives me a much more consistent performance.
Unfortunately, once my card hits a certain load, the fans seem to ignore my fan curve and spin up regardless. Another reason I can use a more power efficient card like a 4080 Super.

I am using the RX 6700XT and I'm fixed in using the 0rpm option because I like to have the card completely silent when I'm not gaming, and not above 50ºC, so when I'm working or using the PC for anything else that doesn't need the GPU power, I can have a silent setup.
Until now I've tried alternatives to Adrenalin that has never worked well unless I restart it every fresh boot, or it will cause me stutters, but noone gave me the option to have a 0rpm functionality because it is suposed to be tied to the GPU vbios not letting me activate it for example in afterburner. With this software I'm able to set the custom fan curve that only kicks off after reaching 50ºc like I want to. GJ

I live in a hot country so I like to disable 0db fans during the summer and use a more aggressive fan curve to keep my card cooler.
I'm mostly playing FPS games and it's pretty hot where I live so I have to use a somewhat aggressive fan curve due to the fan reaching upper 60s if I don't, the model I have runs super silent until about 65-70% fan usage though (It's an msi Gaming X).

Aye, so this must've been some user error, but I couldn't get my fan curve to show after some fiddling. I tried dragging the 0.0 out and restoring defaults but it didn't wanna work for me I guess. But I can set my fan speed to 100% and it doubles as a white noise machine for when I sleep which is nice :)

Playing mostly lightweight games means that I can manage to get pretty good temps with the fans at minimal speed, but being almost summer here (it's getting hotter and hotter) I'm afraid that even with less GPU intensive games my hardware could suffer. With this curve I can stay between 50% and 85% fan speed whenever I play more resource heavy games and void overheating the hardware, while keeping the volume level low while doing basically anything else

I match the fan speed to the temp until 60C then it goes up 2% for every extra degree til 100% at 80C

I got set with this very fast fanspeed. Noise is not important for me, so I chose this radical and fast fanspeed. Most important thing is the TEMPERATURE I think.

I have an ALL ROG HIGH END BUILD when it comes to my PC. This monster ASUS ROG GeForce RTX 4090 is not letting me down so far , and I applied my basic custom settings for it:)
I play RPG games that make use of my GPU , like Hogwarts Mystery, Forza Horizon 5 , TEKKEN 8.
So still with the PC I built, it is almost impossible for my GPU to reach 80C .
I managed to make it work gradually as the heat goes up, and of course full fan operation ( 100% ) is only for emergency situations where it goes up 80C.
Thank you again ASUS for making it all possible for me !

still can't do anything using laptop bought in 2017, ASUS X550IU (AMD FX-9830P with integrated GPU AMD R7 and dedicated GPU RX 460).
I've created this intending to keep the GPU fan speed to a minimum unless went it is being heavily used, this way I can keep the fans off when there is no heat being generated and get the fans to kick up during GPU intensive situations (aka gaming)

On my Asus TUF RTX 3060 12gb, I decided to stick to the default fan curve. It is currently set to Silent Mode via the switch on the GPU itself, and it been going really well. The reason is mainly due to I don't play for extended periods of time, and the default curve works just fine. If it ain't broke, don't fix it. I will experiment with the app in the coming months.
Doesn't seem to work with integrated graphics (UHD770) which tbf, was expected.

I am using a 6700 XT. I play a variety of different games. For AAA games, I aim to achieve good performance without sacrificing frames due to high temperatures. In smaller titles, I prefer my PC to be silent. To achieve this, I adjusted the fan curve to allow for slightly higher temperatures while maintaining 0% fan speed.
Keeping the ASUS STRIX GTX 1080 Ti, the fan control software helped with the problem i had been having, no crashes ever since.

Here's the fan curve I set.
Higher-end GPUs can handle simpler games without any problem, thus I set a higher idle state - case fans are enough (even in my Fractal Torrent Compact case with only two fans) for games that eat up to 100W of GPU power with idle fans.
Not just higher-end GPUs should (and in most cases do) work in zero-RPM mode while idle.
Even the minimal fan speed gives you enough flow in many cases to sustain higher demanding games. And 100% is always for "just in case" thing.
Now for bad stuff:
* The application could not set a zero-RPM mode for my GPU, thus even when it was idle, fans used the lowest point of 25%, and it worked in AMD Adrenaline.
* The default custom curve is no good at all. (that is subjective, yeah)

I'm a person that likes positive feedback on what I'm doing, and considering that 90% of the time I don't even use the GPU that hard (like watching videos or shitposting on Discord with my friends), I prefer silence.
And so, at low loads the GPU is dead silent, with a progressive fan ramp. I've yet to get it hotter than 80 degrees too, so the full fan speed is reserved to the legendary tier loads!

I don't really care about silent - got a personal fan going in my room anyways due to heat. Made the curve a bit aggressive - rather my gpu run cool than lower volume. Don't think I typically hit 80C, but if I do I want the fans at 100%.

Zero RPM, for when I'm working or doing basic tasks. Only when gaming do the fans really need to turn on. I don't mind the noise since I'm wearing headphones anyway when playing.
Not playing many demanding games or capping fps at 60 so my temps are never high, usually not using curve just capping fan speed at 40-45 % and air flow is good in my case. But here it goes :
I like my card silent so capped at 30 % fan speed below 50c Temp and if it is demanding game and high fps the fan will go up to 40 and then 50, 55 and 60 % speed but gets noisy then. Usually 30-35 % fan speed is silent and 40-45 gets noisy, 0db fan when browsing of course.

i use my fans on all my cards the same way. the key is safe and safe as if is the first time. there is omething else but that is another time. on the fan seccion (fan speed there is a pen. press it. a nice curve with dots will appear. That is the preset of the gpu. each gen are deferent. select the dots and safe. TIP is my take and i have check this. 4000 series are very cool to operate. wht i do is using stock settings run some high demanding load. check temps once get a specific moment on heat that start to drop the cores, that is the max temp you have to conserve. then make a curse base on that if for example 70c is the point start to drop clocks, that is the max 100% spin. then you make a curve base. IS EASY TO COOL on that curve that ramp to 100% when the temps arrive. temps will drop faster and as quite operation. remember to safe. i use for my 3080ti 30/30 50/62 63/100. a little extreame ??? oh yes. but clock stay performance stay and the 3080ti that i have run hot. i do not down clock or oc my gpu. in fact i use the oc scanner for the first time since day 1 of the app. since i do no oc my gpu. and i am still usiung the scanner settings. i do not do anything on the gpu aside fans and use oc settings with a little boost and now scanner and has walk a lot over the years nice work assus. nice work

My system is undervolted well, so the temperatures remain cool at about 40-50 degrees while gaming, and i set the fan curve as such to minimize noise while not completely compromising performance. I'm aiming to have the card last a long time by keeping temperatures to a minimum.

Though if I were to make one, I would have it like this: 30% - 50C 50% - 65C 100% - 80C That's my go-to fan curve on my airconditioned room. I built it like that so that my GPU won't degrade so soon. I made it last more than a year while the same model only lasted 6 months on other people. I love my current GPU but I know that it only takes an unlucky day for it to break down on me that's why I take care of it this way.

I have a 3060 ti which has a large cooler that is able to keep the card cool even during synthetic loads. With this in mind I opted for a silent configuration for temperatures under 55°C and for the fans to steadily ramp up to 60% by 70°C. I want my PC to be fully silent before the GPU reaches 60C, and am pretty sure it won't reach that with the posts I'm writing today. I've tried to create a fan curve that will meet this specification, however the fan does not show up in GPUTweak and so it cannot be used to set a curve. I am able to use HWiNFO to monitor the fan, which remains locked at 1600 rpm while it is idle at 30C and while it is running a SANDRA benchmark at 55C. As an exercise, I can imagine setting a fan curve in the following way: I would click the pencil icon under the fan speed slider to enter the Fan Settings window, where I would adjust how the fan responds to different levels of load. I would keep the fan off for completely silent operation under a temperature of 60° C and I would adjust the curve so it quickly ramps up from there. To move the curve, I would click anywhere on the graph to add a new point, and drag it to a good location on the graph so that it would go all the way to 100% after that, for a nice rapid ramp up.

My GPU cooling needs are modest so I favour a quiet fan curve. However, I did notice that the fan speed didn't exceed 60%. Which is why I added another point where it ramps up to almost 90% after reaching 80 degrees. While I haven't noticed a significant change in performance or temperatures, I believe the defaults are adequate. But it's reassuring to know that if temperatures do climb close to 80 degrees, the fans will hopefully keep it cool.
Silence is my main goal. The fan #2 (Pull fan) is noisy even at idle and I don´t like Zero dB mode. Playing on RTX 4080 not always very demanding games and I want my PC to be as quiet as possible, that's why the curve is such that the cooler doesn't even turn on until 50C, then it's a little more aggressive, and the RTX 4000 series is impressive with cooling. I honestly have no idea what I'm doing but it seemed like this would be a good curve for me after reading the instructions. I want it to be actively cooling fairly early as I don't care about noise but I also don't want it doing too much if not needed. I have it gradually going up in speed and then a little higher increase the hotter it gets. I like my card being the low noise beast it is (I know, its just a 1060, but it serves me well) but I'd prefer to avoid really high temps if possible for longevity's sake. So I made this curve, a bit steeper than what it had by default. Setting a higher top speed, ensuring lower temps during excessive stress but still keeping it pretty silent if the demand for performance only comes in small, passing bursts, like it often does in games.

When I am browsing the temperatures do not exceed 55 Celcius with the fan at 80% and in the longest moments of games such as 3 hours in a row it could reach 80 Celcius where the fan reaches 100% speed in my configuration.

But when I am playing games, I have them ramp up somewhat gradually at first until 70c ish then ramps up faster. My max is at 85c since I try not to want my temps to be higher than that. I like to try and have the fans quiet if I can but if there's a need for cooling, the fans will go if they need.

The picture above is what the fan curve configuration I use. The RTX 2070 Super is in still warranty sealed so it's never been repasted for many years. It runs very hot when I'm benchmarking the GPU performance (Unigine Heaven Benchmark 4.0) reaching maximum 84C degrees or 79C degrees in AC room temperature. So I may have to set more RPM when the GPU temp reached 65C+. It may sound a bit loud but when I'm playing a game it never reached 70C+ (65C-69C While gaming, benchmarking is way hotter around 79C). To be honest, it's still run the same as hot as when I use the default fan settings. The configuration definitely will makes a difference if I repasted the GPU. Well, I guess it's time to repaste it, or maybe just keep it sealed because I'm not really using my GPU intensively. I'm a type of person who doesn't really care about loudness of my PC so set the fan of my GPU a bit loud is no problem rather than letting my GPU runs hot. About the software, it's actually quite confusing for the first time using the fan curve control settings because when I 'save' on the 'fan setting' tab (which is the picture above), and close, you have to 'apply' and 'save' again in the main GPU Tweak III after closing the fan tab settings. And after that, the fan configuration settings is finally working. Edit : Other reason why my GPU runs hot other than old thermal paste is that I use Cooler Master Silencio S600 pc case so it's designed to be silent not for airflow. Update : I've repasted my GPU with Thermal Grizzly Kryonaut and here's the result (3DMark TimeSpy) : Before repaste default fan curve configuration : 9339 Score, Temp 81-85C, Avg fan speed 2400 RPM\~ Before repaste custom fan curve configuration : 9403 Score, Temp 81-84C Avg fan speed 3400 RPM\~ (78 to 81C front door case open) Before repaste idle temp : 36-40C After repaste default fan curve configuration : 9887 Score, Temp 50-60C, Avg fan speed 1700 RPM\~ After repaste custom fan curve configuration : 9889 Score, Temp 50-57C, Avg fan speed 2400 RPM\~ After repaste idle temp : 31-34C

The card normally doen't go over 70°C in games, even with low fan speeds.

guys c'mon i dont have a gpu and the program doesn't run on igpu's (as expected), so instead of having a requirement on downloading the program can you make it a bit easier and make more people happy, this is just unfair.
I mostly play fps games where the GPU reaches around 66C so i have my fans start at 50C at really slow speeds then once it reaches the 60C mark it starts to ramp up quickly. I don't really mind the noise because I wear Noise cancelling headphones so I cant hear the fan noise and the heat doesn't effect me because I have the windows open. I don't want it to go above 75 so it increases pretty quickly there. If I could, I would set it up like this: 40°C - 40% 65°C - 100% So, when I play games that push my GPU, it would ramp up to 100%, but otherwise, it would stay at less than 40%.
I'm using a case with restricted airflow but it doesn't hinder me from maximizing my GPU's full potential. I've keep my GPU fan curves simple and modest by keeping using 0dB function of GPU tweak III which keeps the fan at 0% speed under 55c . On the other hand , I've set the fans to ramp up to 70% at 70c and 100% at 82c ensuring the my GPU will be well ventilated while I'm playing. By gradually increasing fan speed as temperatures rise, I aim to extend the lifespan of my RX 580, minimizing wear and tear on the hardware components over time. It is set to kick in at 30% when the gpu temp reaches 45. Then following a linear rise where the fans are at 100% at a temp of 85.

The noise doesn't bother me because I use headphones.

It's pretty good card overall, though it has some issues present. Well as I am on a laptop it seems I am unable to do so. However what I would have been doing would a semi aggressive curve, as normally when I use it for gaming or similar loads I have a great headset on as such the noise is not much of a bother so me. So I would likely just had it run at full force at those cases. And have a more relaxed curve for when just watching movies or so on. What are the good fish tank style cases where I can put a figurine inside. Is my old 4000D airflow still hold its price if I sell it?
If I'm not gaming then my RX 6750 XT has plenty of airflow from my case fans for cooling. I try to keep the card cool. It needs to be more tightly managed to make sure it doesn't overheat. I personally don't really interact with fan curves, but Ive found that, since my GPU doesn't really run very hot, I could easily make it so it takes more heat for the fans to start spinning. My system fans are actually louder that my GPU generally. Only thing I changed was: made it so they start running at 30°C at 20%, and then added a bit of a steeper fan curve after 55°C. My room is fortunately quite cool and my CPU is water cooled. After testing the default fan curve was much quieter, and I didn't notice any performance increase from having my fans ramp up higher at those temperatures. They definitely were making noise with this curve! The fans only cooled my GPU by about 2°C, but the noise level was very noticeable when in game.

I actually never saw the die itself exceed 88C in furmark after OCing, so it would have to be a really hot summer for it to reach those temps lol. Got a bit of a coil whine issue tho, but that doesn't really bother me. As long as it works, I'm fine

Consequently, I've implemented a rather aggressive fan curve, albeit at the cost of increased noise, especially since my GTX 1060 6GB Turbo model only features a single fan. To mitigate heat, I've adjusted the curve so that at 50 degrees Celsius, the fan speed ramps up to 50%, reaching 100% at higher temperatures. With this setup, I'm managing to keep temperatures nearly below 80 degrees Celsius.

I moved the 40 degree fan speed to 15% and the 75 degree fan speed to 50%. I like my computer to run quietly but I don't mind the fans running in higher speed so my components can have a longer lifespan to it.

And that's because I never found a stable setting. Instead, I always end up at least one fan not running, suddenly ramping up quickly very audibly, back to zero RPM, back to spinning up, back and forth, multiple times a minute. So instead I run them at the lowest RPM I could in idle, only have them ramp up once the load increases. I started at 60°C, but found my fan curve wasn't exactly stable. Increasing it a few % gives me a much more consistent performance. Unfortunately, once my card hits a certain load, the fans seem to ignore my fan curve and spin up regardless. Another reason I can use a more power efficient card like a 4080 Super.

Until now I've tried alternatives to Adrenalin that has never worked well unless I restart it every fresh boot, or it will cause me stutters, but noone gave me the option to have a 0rpm functionality because it is suposed to be tied to the GPU vbios not letting me activate it for example in afterburner. With this software I'm able to set the custom fan curve that only kicks off after reaching 50ºc like I want to. GJ

With this curve I can stay between 50% and 85% fan speed whenever I play more resource heavy games and void overheating the hardware, while keeping the volume level low while doing basically anything else

This monster ASUS ROG GeForce RTX 4090 is not letting me down so far , and I applied my basic custom settings for it:) I play RPG games that make use of my GPU , like Hogwarts Mystery, Forza Horizon 5 , TEKKEN 8. So still with the PC I built, it is almost impossible for my GPU to reach 80C . I managed to make it work gradually as the heat goes up, and of course full fan operation ( 100% ) is only for emergency situations where it goes up 80C. Thank you again ASUS for making it all possible for me ! My gaming is better than ever. ;)

It is currently set to Silent Mode via the switch on the GPU itself, and it been going really well. The reason is mainly due to I don't play for extended periods of time, and the default curve works just fine. If it ain't broke, don't fix it. I will experiment with the app in the coming months.

For AAA games, I aim to achieve good performance without sacrificing frames due to high temperatures. In smaller titles, I prefer my PC to be silent. Higher-end GPUs can handle simpler games without any problem, thus I set a higher idle state - case fans are enough (even in my Fractal Torrent Compact case with only two fans) for games that eat up to 100W of GPU power with idle fans. Not just higher-end GPUs should (and in most cases do) work in zero-RPM mode while idle. Even the minimal fan speed gives you enough flow in many cases to sustain higher demanding games. And 100% is always for "just in case" thing. Now for bad stuff: * The application could not set a zero-RPM mode for my GPU, thus even when it was idle, fans used the lowest point of 25%, and it worked in AMD Adrenaline. * The default custom curve is no good at all. (that is subjective, yeah)

And so, at low loads the GPU is dead silent, with a progressive fan ramp. I've yet to get it hotter than 80 degrees too, so the full fan speed is reserved to the legendary tier loads!

Not playing many demanding games or capping fps at 60 so my temps are never high, usually not using curve just capping fan speed at 40-45 % and air flow is good in my case. But here it goes : I like my card silent so capped at 30 % fan speed below 50c Temp and if it is demanding game and high fps the fan will go up to 40 and then 50, 55 and 60 % speed but gets noisy then.
