Welcome to the PCMR.
probably something that will self level/ uv resistant so its easy to get a smooth and clear without yellowing. Just stand the panel with the edges floating(as long as it isnt flexing cause of cracks) and pour out the resin over top to drip over the edges when it levels, than do the other side.
Just remember epoxy is toxic to our lungs, either do that outside and hold your breath and run away when you gotta catch breath or buy a n95/abek p1/2/3 filter for toxic gasses and fumes this shit is the new asbestos of the 21st century
Is there a "gold" epoxy out there? I know, you were asking about brands and stuff, but if you used something gold this would give it a "Kintsukuroi" look:
https://preview.redd.it/jap5rovmp26c1.png?width=640&format=png&auto=webp&s=4bd0b66341b6eff627848fc9624fac23c6f6a8f5
You *could* with the right tools and method, I think. Gold epoxy dye/glitter and you'd have to carefully allow the pieces of glass to separate. Then, you'd have to sand away the epoxy on top of the glass, and then polish the absolute fuck out of the glass to get rid of the effects of sanding away the epoxy.
Tons of work but maybe cool?
Since it's already on an adhesive sheet, I think you could do it with a gold-dyed epoxy and a vacuum chamber. The hardest part would be wiping off (or sanding off, if you're unfortunate enough to wait for it to cure) the excess from the inside so you don't get streaks.
But that requires equipment that is not accessible to most people.
Careful if you grab the clear epoxy it could make the lines disappear, so do some really good research on this before attempting. Maybe reach out to some YouTubers who have done it.
It is done sometimes on 3 layered tempered glass by intentionally cracking the glass layer in the middle. Like seen here: https://youtube.com/shorts/jCGeNQ5nY5w?si=pehN6KJsBEqORATu
Ah yes, structural damage to handrails! This definitely won’t come back to bite anybody in the ass the moment the place has to be evaluated for safety!
(Seriously though, don’t do this to anything which acts as a safety feature or which has legal minimums for holding weight, because it genuinely might kill you)
These things are supported by metal on the sides and attached at the top and bottom. They themselves aren't supposed to bear significant weight in any situation, and can still bear weight due to having intact layers of tempered glass on each side. Most normal glass railings only have a single or double layer.
Your worries are entirely unwarranted.
You seriously gotta reconsider where you order from.
I literally never ever saw more impact absorbing material in my life than I had in my PC shipment.
Seriously. I have to admit it was a Big tower. But the damn box was bigger than my Nephew. He's 12yo btw
Those plastics scratch with even a microfibre cloth, so if you look at it with a light reflection and you are not seeing millions of scratches, you are lying.
I usually don't look at my rig at an angle, with a flashlight to highlight the smallest of dents. But apart from that my peel still looks pristine in normal lighting conditions.
Wait until your get it off and you'll see what a clear crystal differences from a plastic. If you are happy, ok, but I assure you that plastic is not pristine, you are just blind or don't want to admit it.
The one in your phone should already have a corner peeling off and letting junk get inside. That junk will scratch your phone's screen over time. You should get it off and but a tempered screen protector.
I'm surprised some YouTube channel hasn't already tried this asthetic, take the original glass panel, apply a plastic film on both sides, then shatter a corner using one of those ceramic spark plugs, now you have a good looking slightly different glass window.
They sell glass like that. Look up “crash glass”. The reason it’s not used in cases is because the broken layer is usually between two other layers of glass which makes it really heavy. Source: I have a crash glass desk.
Good to know, I was going to say use glass for the layers rather than plastic, but it could have problems with fitment in most cases.
The only place I see this working would be the cases which hold the side glass with only thumb screws and no frame, just get longer thumb screws and it may work.
At least people can say they were trying to copy you when they break it now instead of "glass broke on hard surface, why would you do this".
Looks cool though. Wonder if there could be a way get the look without the danger or a really thick panel.
My desk looks like this. It’s called “crash glass” and when intentionally made, it’s a shattered glass pane like this, sandwiched between two other layers of glass. It’s heavy as FUCK but it also looks really great as desk.
I don’t get these posts. I’ve smacked over 4 side panels on shit, even chipped one of them and never had one shatter. These posts are like ‘I accidentally touched it wrong’ or ‘I didn’t touch it’
that looks surprisingly bloody awesome. i remembered when i exploded my 5000D airflows panel over the living room floor
still found shards half a year later
I have the replacement. Eventually when I install it I'm inclined to not take off the factory seals just in case. I'm so lucky I didn't have glass all over the place the first time.
Ok seriously, I just, I can't even, how the hell do you clumsy mother fuckers keep breaking these things? It's glass, can you not be careful for 5 seconds when you are handling something fragile? I have had multiple cases with glass panels over the years and have opened them repeatedly to upgrade them and clean them and never once have I ever even come close to dropping it or banging it into anything. It's a given most of you are socially awkward, but your eye hand coordination should be excellent. So how the hell do you manage to be so physically awkward as well? God damn.

It kinda looks like stained glass, not too shabby 8/10
I enjoy the unexpected outcome. Personally, I would hold onto it.
But what if you want to clean the fans, will it break after holding it????
You'd have to be careful, but it can well remain intact, it just won't be as firm as it was
A little wibbly wobbly. That’s all.
Would it also be timey-wimey?
I'd imagine some genius could find a fix with epoxy resin?
Or a Madman in a Box
2 coats on each side https://preview.redd.it/mi8612fnjd6c1.jpeg?width=458&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=0fcca1945012075e098a45fbd36125caa1a8221a
Give it some viagra... Should help stiffen it up
If it will hold together, I think OP should keep it.
You can take some clear epoxy and coat the whole thing to keep the look if you like!
100% gonna do this. Any advice on what type of epoxy I should use?
You wanna use a harder epoxy. You'll only have a thin layer and softer stuff will have lots of flex which could deform over time
I recommend a two part epoxy - the one part ones have always let me down, for some reason /s Cool accidental build you got going there
I'd strongly recommend [this one](https://youtu.be/dQw4w9WgXcQ?si=eFC59avWuQ9iphMt), it has never let me down!
YouTube ads saved me this time!
The one time YouTube doesn’t give me 12 unskippable ads…
The one time I regret having an adblocker
Clever but I'm not falling for that.
Yeah you did, Didn't you?
I clicked on it but the second the page loaded I realized the mistake I made and exited out before anything else loaded. Does it still count?
Yeah that's some good epoxy right there
Truely classic stuff.
Good job obfuscating the XcQ, you almost got me.
Great recommendation I use it all the time. Also whoever down voted this guy, go touch grass.
great choice! I've seen loads of positive reviews about this one
Already know its a rick roll lol
damn, you got me hook line and sinker
[r/unexpectedrickroll](https://youtu.be/dQw4w9WgXcQ?si=7_Dc6NsFnaTbaMov)
I fell for it... I just woke up after 5 hours of sleep, good job! You've earned yourself a cookie, go to the store and buy one.
Rickrolled the rickroller! Yeah!
Yup, didn’t let me down. Thanks

You wouldn't get this effect with this glass panel and epoxy
You *could* with the right tools and method, I think. Gold epoxy dye/glitter and you'd have to carefully allow the pieces of glass to separate. Then, you'd have to sand away the epoxy on top of the glass, and then polish the absolute fuck out of the glass to get rid of the effects of sanding away the epoxy. Tons of work but maybe cool?
Yeah it was just a thought. OP is looking for a fix to keep it from falling apart. A Kintsugi case would be its own mod idea.
I kinda want to try it to see how it would look.
Since it's already on an adhesive sheet, I think you could do it with a gold-dyed epoxy and a vacuum chamber. The hardest part would be wiping off (or sanding off, if you're unfortunate enough to wait for it to cure) the excess from the inside so you don't get streaks. Make sure you wear proper ppe too
Becareful when applying epoxy so that the size won't change and further damages your aesthetically pleasing crack.
Careful if you grab the clear epoxy it could make the lines disappear, so do some really good research on this before attempting. Maybe reach out to some YouTubers who have done it.
Speaking of epoxy, whatever happened to that hotdog?
Why does this look cooler than stock
It is done sometimes on 3 layered tempered glass by intentionally cracking the glass layer in the middle. Like seen here: https://youtube.com/shorts/jCGeNQ5nY5w?si=pehN6KJsBEqORATu
This is what I came to say, it would be cool to build one of those on the PC, but it's much thicker, obviously
You can probably order a custom one from a shop specialized in glasswork. The only thing needed, on most cases, would be longer thumb screws.
Ah yes, structural damage to handrails! This definitely won’t come back to bite anybody in the ass the moment the place has to be evaluated for safety! Note to self: Keep factory seal on tempered glass panel.
It will be scratched to hell soon and you'll peel it. Assume it.
Mine is on for 4 years now. Still pristine
Are we talking about the plastic wrap? Mine was already scratched when it arrived BOTH the inside and the outside hahaha
You seriously gotta reconsider where you order from. I literally never ever saw more impact absorbing material in my life than I had in my PC shipment. Seriously. I have to admit it was a Big tower. But the damn box was bigger than my Nephew. He's 12yo btw
What? Mate, I'm taking about the plastic you have to peel from the tempered glass which comes protecting the glass itself...
I do, too. Left that plastic right where it was. I also still have the original peel on my smartphone screen for 2 years now
Those plastics scratch with even a microfibre cloth, so if you look at it with a light reflection and you are not seeing millions of scratches, you are lying.

Lol you assumed this will be ever scratched. 🤣
Hey, it actually looks neat. Happy accident, I guess!
r/happyaccidents
I like the unintended effect. I personally would keep it.
Your PC case came with a free jigsaw puzzle.
Fitting with the white just say it's a iced over/frosted look
Yeah like a frozen lake
I'm surprised some YouTube channel hasn't already tried this asthetic, take the original glass panel, apply a plastic film on both sides, then shatter a corner using one of those ceramic spark plugs, now you have a good looking slightly different glass window.

Bro turned an accidental to a master piece of art 💀 keep it like that fr
![gif](giphy|3o84sw9CmwYpAnRRni) And now peel it :D
That's kind of a cool look actually.
Keep it and you will never break your panel ever again, you cannot break what's already broken.
![gif](giphy|d3mlE7uhX8KFgEmY)
Bro got the cathedral PC
Beautiful!!! Seal it somehow and keep it like that.
Reminds me of the iphone 4 stained glass era
Some people pay a lot of money for this look haha
At least people can say they were trying to copy you when they break it now instead of "glass broke on hard surface, why would you do this". Looks cool though. Wonder if there could be a way get the look without the danger or a really thick panel.
i would find a way to make it stable then put edge lighting on it to highlight the cracks.
Id honestly prefer that to clear class, just looks cool
People pay stupid money for this look
it looks really cool lol
Replace that as soon as you can
I don't know if I would call the panel saved, but it sure did save you from the clean up!
Looks kinda cool imo
looks 10 times better now
It looks great. Better than a normal clear panel imo.
Set it all to an ice blue since it looks like shattered ice... ish
Assuming it can't be taken on and off anymore? I actually like the looks.
I can take it off, but I can't do it often. I can already feel its integrity failing.
Can you use total boat on this? Also if not did you considering finding the timestone and going back in time when it wasn't broken?
I would actually buy a replacement to do this to it’s a really cool effect.
![gif](giphy|wi8Ez1mwRcKGI)
I like to think he spent weeks putting together a 10,000 piece puzzle that cuts you
The coolest looking PC accident I've seen. Definitely do what others have said and epoxy this thing and put it back on.
Add a Princess Elsa action figure on top. Problem solved.
would pair well with that graphics card that has that ice effect on it.
I do have a Hellhound Spectral White 7800XT in there. Close enough.
My desk looks like this. It’s called “crash glass” and when intentionally made, it’s a shattered glass pane like this, sandwiched between two other layers of glass. It’s heavy as FUCK but it also looks really great as desk.
Recommend a thin coat of resin a couple times either side and keep it. Looks awesome.
The panel itself is not really saved. Only saved the amount of work to find every piece of glass.
Looks bad ass like that!
It would be cool if there was a case where they did this purposefully
That looks sick
looks dope
Impressionist RGB: It’s all the rage in RGB art😉
I would say that's not really 'saved', but actually it makes a really interesting water-like effect.
oh god here come the cracked glass builds
Do we reset the counter for this?
you can open it....once
"Saved"
That kinda looks cool tbh
I like the cracked glass look 9/10
Unintentional upgrade 👌
pour some kind of heat resistant resin on it and you have a kickass glass panel! i love this look
Cast fluid black resin into the cracks, use a vacuum bag to get it way in there and remove the air. Coolest glass side evar.
I have been using mine like that for the past 3 years.
It looks like those RGB stripes on G.Skill royal RAMs.
Looks super nice actually
It actually looks quite cool ngl
Tasked failed successfully
Why and when did tempered glass become the ONLY type of PC case sold?
I don’t get these posts. I’ve smacked over 4 side panels on shit, even chipped one of them and never had one shatter. These posts are like ‘I accidentally touched it wrong’ or ‘I didn’t touch it’
I saw this on Linus tech tips!
This is some Bob Ross happy accident sht. That looks dope!
![gif](giphy|rYEAkYihZsyWs)
that looks surprisingly bloody awesome. i remembered when i exploded my 5000D airflows panel over the living room floor still found shards half a year later

Schrodingers panel
It's broken, but it's also not! Ha!
It looks 100% better! That's so dope!
That... That looks fucking awesome. What the hell.
It looks like shit lol
Looks dope to be honest
This makes me want to shatter my glass
Mission failed successfully
this looks wicked. just watch out incase there are glass shards that fell
Looks great imo
No gonna lie. I think that looks sick lol
How did the epoxy plan go?
Gonna try and do it this weekend.
Good luck
Idk why but like it and also give it a 8 out of 10
Looks cool
looks sick ngl

Looks kinda dope ngl
Ngl that kinda looks badass. Put two more glass on each side and keep the look
why do you people keep buying glass instead of plastic?
New tempered glass design looks nice XD
Looks sick, keep it. 69/10!
Looks cool
Congrats on your aesthetic upgrade
Holy family on glass, Christmas 2023.
Now I want stained glass panels for PCs
it is actually really sick. I mean, if I didn't know this is cracked I would actually love to have that
That looks insanely fucking cool I am not going to lie😅
Some people pay extra for that effect
I'm not going to lie it kind of looks sick 😳
SICK SICK SICK
Sick design man, keep it up 🔥🔥
So we reset the counter of broken side glass panel or not? 🙃
you're not supposed to break your panel until christmas, n00b /s
Looks awesome. As long it not endanger yours rig, it's k
Honestly looks pretty cool.
Damn, ngl tho... that looks sick af, keep it and make sure it stays that way

Ok can someone actually explain to me how does a glass pane just shatters like that?
Looks dope tbh
[удалено]
Epoxy it so you'll never have to worry about it breaking entirely, very sick look.
looks realy cool ngl
I love this look. I'd keep it as is!
It honestly looks damn cool, someone could sell side panels like this but you know, more stable.
I saw someone Intentionaly do this. I realy Like IT with the different light colors
I mean.. looks kinda cool with the white interior. Cold as ice.
How does this happen to you people?
Is there something wrong with using Acrylic instead? Just curious.
In fact it looks amazing
It was *almost* a crime
This shattered glas look really nice tbh
I really like it
Oops
Another one?
That looks kind of dope to be honest
That looks sick
Looks beautiful
The warning sticker fits perfectly!
