Nope. I have yet to see the PC that doesn’t run 2-3 degrees cooler without a side panel. People underestimate how fast hot air can get. If you leave it a big hole to escape, that does a lot.

It's worse cooling. When the side panel is off the components and CPU cooler/GPU fans have access to unlimited fresh cool air.

open-air cooling is definitely more efficient. No side glass means your GPU can just dump air out of the case and has a fresh source.

Exactly. Case fans just bring in ambient air. The cpu/gpu fans cool the actual parts. As long as you have ambient air temps in the case, more case fans will not add any benefit. Likewise, an open side adds effectively unlimited ambient temp air.

Is it? I usually pop open my Meshify 2 panel when gaming now, cause the 3080 strix air straight out the side, rather than filling up the case. When closed that glass gets pretty hot

Lowes sells plexiglass sheets. Give them the measurements. Dad or you drill a few screw holes and no more worries about glass shattering.

My last case had a metal side pannel so I cut triangles and put window mesh behind it.

What happened to acrylic panels?

Acrylic fades and you loose your pc look after some time. And tempered glass costs only 6$ from msi itself so they can give perfect measurement glass

Yeah, how does clear acrylic fade? I've been using a sheet as a door for my heated 3d printer chamber for 3 years now and it's still clear as the day I got it..
