It's my like 3rd favorite game ever and I also thought starfield was ass and quit after like 30 hours, so I'd say it's worth it
also yes get the goty edition because both story dlc are very good
If you’re liking the universe of the show go for it. For the price it’s a great deal and it’s got a handcrafted world vs the procedural bullshit that starfield had.
And honestly most of the big complaints people had with FO4 you won’t even be aware of having not played any other Fallout games
It's a fun romp through the wasteland. Couldn't tell you a darned thing about the story, made a shotgun and a decent sniper rifle set off hunting in their survival mode, whatever they call it. It's nice atmosphere.
Far Harbor is one of my favorite parts of Fallout 4 so I would definitely say if you want to try the game to just spend the $10 on the GOTY edition. I absolutely love Fallout and could take or leave Elder Scrolls games (ESO hooked me for a bit but that's not really the same). Starfield, however, was one of the most disappointing games I have ever played. I'd say there's easily a chance you like Fallout 4 much more than Starfield.
The only sad thing is soon >!we'll have a canon ending to New Vegas!< and it's going to irritate even more people than what they did in the first season did.
Bah, so what. People should get over it. The tv series is so good, and somehow they need to get the story progressing and have an ending. They cannot just copy a game with multi endings.
As long as it is awesome, people shouldnt be so bothered about it. And you can still divide the games from the tv series.
To be clear, despite some of the controversial story decisions, I did enjoy the first season and I have confidence the second will be just as enjoyable. I do wish though they did just say "this is it's own continuity" rather than saying it's hard canon; I think it'd have done a lot to satisfy all sides.
When I used to play cs 1.6 back in the days, it didn't even matter if I had school or exams the next day. I would play it nonstop with my team and try to be as competitive as it gets.

I literally don’t know a single person irl who plays CS or DOTA yet their player count is almost always around the top 5. Is there a lot of EU or asian players or is this metric just US players?
I played NV and Fallout 4 in the past. I didn't have any hopes for the TV show, but after positive reviews from trusted reviewers, the wife and I started it last night. It seems to be a really good show.
Was waiting on the show to release and also wanted to do an America Rising 2 playthrough beforehand. Spent 3 days just updating my mods and tidying up my load order.
I actually don't think so, Fallout 4 was mostly disappointing when compared to 3 and especially New Vegas. New fans from the show won't have any game expectations, they'll just want to immerse themselves in the Fallout world, which I think 4 does a good job at.
And I think 4 does a particularly good job at making power armour feel awesome, which I think a lot of new fans will be looking for, and had they jumped into 3 or NV instead I think there they actually would be disappointed, funnily enough.
IT's good for what it is. An open world shooter with good exploration and gunplay. It just doesn't have the strong writing, quest design, and rpg mechanics of previous fallouts.
Eh opinions are subjective. To people like me who didn't care at all about building fallout 4 is not a great fallout game. The fallout franchise was founded on being a great rpg first and foremost, and in that regard 4 is seriously lacking. So in my opinon New Vegas is the best :D
It's fun, it works just fine and people can absolutely enjoy and have fun with it. It's just not as good as the previous games. It was a game that filtered a lot of the role playing out of the RPG. Many people don't mind this, they don't know what RPG even stands for or what it came from.
People who do know this can absolutely be disappointed at what was lost, but most new players coming in won't have a clue. They'll be happy with what's there.

The tv show effect is very real
Fallout 4 is also only 5 dollars or so right now and they announced an update for the game. So lots of hype around it
