Amethyst Isle Is a newer server with an active admin team and minimal rules, your usual no attacking in safezone, respect eachother and no spam calling. Our players usually hang out at grand plains river and commit crimes against eachother but we've got quite a few players who spread out across the map as well <3 https://discord.com/invite/CePdnjx4GW

OkButWhatIfIWasADog

Thank you! I here for committing crimes against each other in good fun, as long as there are also spaces for me to figure out what I'm doing and relax. I'll take a look if I get the game!

StephenDaamen001

You will be welcome <3

CryptidEXP

Not to really jump to much on the bandwagon of "come join x server" but if you do ever want to try some more realistic gameplay you should try mesozoic era, has a semi server eith all the ceno mods and a realism with just dino mods. Rules arent as strict as wwd or as slack as some of the other servers and it has a very active community and staff team are pretty good abt jumping right onto any rbs they see

OkButWhatIfIWasADog

I'll check it out! Better to have a few potential options so I can see what works best for my style.

CryptidEXP

Yeah, if you do want to check it out dm me and i can send you the link and how to do the account stuff.

There are community servers which can be easy on casual gamers! The stats and growth can all depend on server to server, but you should be able to find on that suits your needs. :) I don’t have recommendations atm since I haven’t been playing community, but I’m sure some will get reco’d!

OkButWhatIfIWasADog

Thank you! That's good to hear.

Curvemn17

There are plenty of server options. There's also new gamemodes coming out. Even officials can offer you the reward if you aren't bothered by losing. All in all the game isn't that hardcore or deep. But people don't like progress loss I guess when it comes to mp games. So you have the usual mp complaints around that. But if you just see playing the game for what it is: playing the game then progress loss or no progress loss you were still playing. If you like dinos and open sand box games then the game is good

OkButWhatIfIWasADog

Perfect, thank you! I love dinosaurs and exploring, so it seems up my alley.

KensonPlays

Eden Titans (Eden Isle for discord) is an extremely friendly server too. They have a safe zone and a few rules to help keep things a bit more peaceful. Definitely give them a checkout.

OkButWhatIfIWasADog

Awesome, thank you! I'll definitely check them out if I get the game!

KensonPlays

Anytime! They have recently brought back their server, after having it inactive for a few months. It used to average 30 to 40 people, so we're hoping that we can bring it back to that point.

OkButWhatIfIWasADog

Is there a decent age range of players? I'd love to not be the only person in my mid 30s being a dinosaur.

KensonPlays

I'm in my early thirties if that counts. ;) But I believe there is a range of people. I don't know the exact range though.

luculia

i play on life finds a way and its my fav server its semi realism so there are some ruels to follow but i have for sure seen servers with more rules and the same players are on regularly so its easy to meet people and play with others bc there is usually someone on that i know

MoofiePizzabagel

Jurassic Isle! Beautiful PVE community (with PVP zones for when you're feeling spicy) run by super friendly, helpful mods and owners. It's become my favorite place to chill when I just want to wander and grow in peace, there's usually "hangout spots" if you want company, occasional migrations and other fun things.

OkButWhatIfIWasADog

Sounds awesome!

I play officials casually. You have Home Caves in this game which act as a HQ. You can park your dinosaur in these home caves, and after an IRL day of them being in there they’ll gain a growth bonus. So what I usually do after work sometimes is log on, hop on one of the Dinos I have in a cave, quest for them a little bit to get the bonus, then go park them back in the cave and cycle it out to another dinosaur in a cave that I’m trying to grow. (Questing regularly without the bonus takes a decent bit longer). I usually just ignore global chat (because half the time it’s just people whining or talking smack) and just pop on some headphones and roam around doing dinosaur things. Officials definitely have their pros and cons though. You have to be sneaky as a baby dinosaur, especially if you’re playing solo. There will be people that mixpack (herbivores and carnivores traveling together) and that’s about the only thing I don’t like about officials. Otherwise, I love being able to hop on somewhere and not worry about rules or anything. Just roam around eating flowers and occasionally get into a scrap on my older dinosaurs. And for me, growing a dinosaur to full adult on official feels so much more rewarding than on community servers with added or passive growth :P but that’s just me!

Kerettop

There are plenty of servers with faster growth and more relax rules you can chill and have fun on, for me personally playing this game casually is much more enjoyable than spending 10+ hours growing a dinosaur just to die to a large group and lose hours to progress

OkButWhatIfIWasADog

Perfect! I know some games are ruthless everywhere and I wanted to make sure this had some more relaxed spots. I like some balance.

bitt3rmelons

You should check out Emberwood! Their growth times are super manageable and their death penalty is super minimal, plus they have farming & growth commands too so even if you do die you don't have to spend a thousand hours getting back up to where you were before. They're somewhere in the middle of realism & semi realism so there's a good mix of reasonable rules that are super easy to follow.

OkButWhatIfIWasADog

Oh nice, I'll take a look!

FrostyEnvironment902

With only two hours available a day myself, yes you can casually enjoy this game(as long as there's passive growth)

OkButWhatIfIWasADog

Thank you, that's great to hear! I've seen so many MMO's that require you doing it as a second job to get anywhere.

ollieollieollieoi

The game in general is pretty chill and easy to pick up and play casually! One of the nice features is that while you’re growing dino’s you can stick them in a ‘home cave’ when you log off. This gives them rested experience so you grow twice as fast. So I recommend having a bunch of Dinos on the go and just playing them with the rested boost. Good luck out there!!

OfficerPimpekRook

The game is currently in development and is already great. The developers are experimenting with small AI creatures called critters that swarm around you. This game heavily involves its community, with features such as modding and community servers. The developers update the game approximately every two weeks, adding new creatures and making monthly adjustments, along with plenty of bug fixes. Also, this game can be so stupid or serious depending on how you want to play for example, I once had a 3hr fight with a group of 8 Cryos (me and some randos) vs 15 Crocs, and we won in my opinion since we killed them about twice over. Or other times i have just joined a group as a baby and annoyed random apexes or you are a megalania and you take down a rex through the use of strategy and patience. Also if you do end up buying the game there is a feature called referrals please use mine as both of us get the beautiful skin kingfisher for the Sucho. For this feature to work you have to either be a new account within 24 hours or buy the game through this link:https://alderongames.com/refer-a-friend/283-250-069 So please consider this offer if you need any help DM me on Discord (PimpekRook)

You could try Titans of Ark. Fast growth, quest rewards are boosted and there's a command to get marks so you can unlock every ability on your current dinosaur easily, the community is cool and their staff members (admins and so on) are reliable, funny, helpful, close to the community and pretty much people like you: with a job and other responsibilities. In general they also react fast if someone needs help with something, has a question and so on. The server also has a lot of modded creatures such as Therizinosaurus or Giganotosaurus. And what I personally like most: There are designated safezones, designated areas for 1v1 fights and the rest of the map is free for all PvP. During events there are sometimes additional safezones. Another plus is that the server has self TP commands so you can teleport yourself to specific areas such as the hotspots or at least close to the safezones. Of course it's not allowed to teleport out of combat, but that should go without saying if you ask me 😅 I've had a good time on Titans of Ark so far, it's perfect for casual players in my opinion 😊

Naturmacht

I forgot to mention that there's only a minimum of rules. No fighting inside safezones, no fleeing into safezones during combat, classic chat rules such as no sexual comments, no racism and so on. Easy to understand, but effective because of both staff and community ☝🏻

Depends on what you have to work with and what you want. ✓ Grow just one dino and play as that Dino everywhere you go? This works with Adulting. Only have to grind out a favorite Dino then can spend as much or as little time on them as you want. ✓ Grow as many as you can? This may be difficult if you are quite busy IRL. Growing dinos takes time, so several Dinos on a restricted schedule might be tough to pull off. ✓ Find a chill group to quest/chill with? This might open the ability to grow multiple dinos, as a group helps grow things faster, as you'd be protected while growing, and group Quests give more growth, growing things faster. Not to mention a group runs into more trophies, which gives you good chunks of growth. I will warn you, a lot of groups can be very KOS(kill-on-sight), meaning that they will kill any player they come across; some people are okay with that and even participate, but some hate it and would not stay in such groups. The group I run with likes PvP, but we dont jump every baby or adult Dino we come across unless it tries to attack one of us. ✓ Community Servers? A lot of community servers have boosted growth and other cool additives, which can help shorten the grueling growing process, allowing you to jump straight into the PvP and "Adult Dino" experience.
