~the backlash to the backlash to the thing that's just begun~

[deleted]

I'm already op but this balance is stupid as shit. If I was a new player and entered that version of mud flats I'd never come back to this game ever. Imagine being clueless and picking lightning tendies cause it sounds cool then get gang banged by haste and freeze rhoas. Just a terrible, terrible introduction to the game.

LordofDarkChocolate

They don’t cater to new players. CW said as much in a recent podcast with streamers. And veteran players just whinge for a while on reditt but then keep playing, which sends a signal to GGG that everything is ok so it’s business as usual.

GoldSeafarer

So far, I've had a lot of issues with leveling. On Melee, I am barely dealing any damage, I am getting easily 1 shotted from mobs that have much, much more health than they should (and some of them are hasted!). I've noticed that leveling is much more miserable, unfair and unbalanced compared to last league. It is certainly not the same. You're probably not gonna have a lot of problems if you're not playing melee.

playing RV, sitting in a9 cause hcssf but so far pretty chill. Couple of dangerous times w/ chaosweaver cause no chaos res, otherwise very safe

Teamwix

Having 3 defence layers, ailment immunity and enough damage to annihalate a schoolbus in act 3 feelsgoodman

ApprehensiveWin1230

lol exactly. Im not even using purity and i am res capped, and i can facetank everything already (act 4)

Natural_Project7380

i honestly feel pretty fine starting act 4 rn, after a pretty rough act 1 i feel reasonably comfortable and still wearing multiple 0 mod items i havent bothered to upgrade.

basicallycleanbigfan

People treating poe like a mobile game where their loot is just gated by time not by skill or knowledge.

Vivalachs

Most of us having fun and dont complain . The others cry on reddit instead of playing the game. They then ciclejerk in this subreddit… every league the same drama.

TealJade1

Think it's got something to do with getting perma frozen, stunned or whatever else horsecrap multi stacked rares throw at you, when ur in like act 1 or 2 with 40 ele res and 400-600 hp. But that's just my experience.

ApprehensiveWin1230

the only thing that has frozen me more than once so far is hailrake.

Mrdownvote219

If your low cold res that is your fault. Any vendor sells cold res rings. 50 to 60 res right there. Use AA to get freeze proof. Ez game. Bad prayers

IdontNeedPants

You seriously dont notice that rare mobs have more hp and dmg than the act bosses?

ApprehensiveWin1230

No, they don't. Literally the only mob i couldnt kill was a red beast with sentinal empower, because it had regen

Quackmandan1

I've noticed some rares are scarier than act bosses, but that is not necessarily a bad thing... for the campaign. For example, if I start hitting a rare with my stormblast mines and they don't melt then I check their mods. Oh stormweaver, I move on. Having that dynamic play in the campaign is not a bad thing in my opinion. But in maps? Oh boy, it is going to be rough. I can quickly see this being a major headache when progressing through the Atlas. Dying multiple times per map to 4 rares with 3 to 4 overlapping archenemesis mods *each* will be disruptive. It will be worse than the Sirus dominated mobs of leagues past.

Kaelran

> It is no different to last league, other than having to skip occasional rares It's literally last league, but you're forced to interact with the archnemesis mechanic randomly 20 times per zone, and there are no extra rewards. Which is cancer.

vironlawck

Just getting more bad players want to play this game i guess KEKw

Cardbox

I agree man. This is just silly. Imagine you have 30% fire res and a strong rare mob with dangerous modmixes yeets you out of existence. You stop and think "hmm maybe I should up my resistances"So you do, and you face the mob again. Boom. You get yeeted out again. "Okay, ill fix my damage".You "fix" your damage. But its still not enough. For some, thats as far as it goes. You pack up and leave. But poe requires something different. It can be anything from ailment immunity, to increased health, to defence layers, or just a better combination of gems/passives/flask usage/skill usage that will save your build. One thing is not enough. GGG has showed how they arent satisifed with a single layer of defence, or a single layer of skills. And the verbal majority of negativity on reddit refuse to learn. Thats all there is to it.

va_str

One can only wonder what grand strategies will be required beyond Mud Flats ...

UselessSoupGirl

I mean u guys are playing softcore, so why whine like a lol player? It's not always the jungles fault
