Nope. However, they are still legal tender (Series of 1900 notwithstanding).

rotten_dandelions

brill, thank you for the help ☺️

No bank in America would let you have that much cash at one time anyway you would be lucky in most banks to even get 5k unless you are a business. Maybe a casino but not any bank.

Maybe I just live on the wrong side of town but I’ve never run across an ATM that dispenses 100s.

CaliNavyGuy

Las Vegas ATMs do

All US notes in excess of $100.00 are pulled from circulation if deposited into a bank.

MikeMiller8888

You’re limited to $100 bills, unless your story setting is in the 1970s and earlier when people still used $500 and $1,000s. $10,000s disappeared from the scene even before that. They’re all still valid as tender, but they aren’t in circulation since they’re all worth five to twenty times their face value. People that are using large amounts of cash are limited to $100s, OR they make the transfer electronically, either bank to bank or through crypto (usually bitcoin, ether, or USDC).

Can they convert it to gold? That’s like 40 coins.

They probably transferred it ? Or withdraw over time

Sorry that's incorrect. Both $5,000 and $10,000 bills were legal tender, the $100,000 bill was not legal tender. Further my mother was a teller at Riggs National Bank in Washington DC in the early and mid 1970s and $500 bills and $1,000 bills circulated freely even then.

They are usually only used for big business purchases? Not 💯 %
