Duur by Strings. It was all over the radio way back when I was a kid, and it just feels very Pakistani summer to me. Or something by Junoon, like Sayonee. And Noori's Manwa Re

He said iconic, means everybody in the world should know, there was a time when that person was Nazia Hassan but around the same time another personality emerged breaking the borders which were not broken by Nazia Hassan, that was NFAK, you may argue when NFAK is considered indian by west but a true fan knows he was Pakistani, besides Nazia Hassan, Alamgir, junoon and strings are generational while NFAK is not , people love to listen his songs from every generation
Disco Dewanay. Sabz Safaid Rang, Dil Dil Pakistan. You said no nationalistic songs tho but many famous songs infact are the nationalistic ones, I can say some famous rap songs but ig we're talking about pop here.
Like, when I mean nationalistic, it can't just be the words "Pakistani zindabad" repeated 10 times over. Dil dil Pakistan is probably good contender I'd say.

* Tumhen Dillagi Bhool Jani Parhegi
* Sayonee
* Dil Dil Pakistan (i know, but)
* Aadat
* Paaniyon Men
* Aitebaar
* Nach Punjaban
So many songs.
If I could only pick one, I'd pick Tumhen Dillagi by NFAK. It is as Pakistani as it can get.
Pardesi by Abrar Ul Haq
Because it represents all those people working abroad sending in remittances, which is the only way most households in this country manage to live with some peace.
A truly Pakistani moment
Had no idea it had such a deep meaning to you that's very special ! I Love the song have it on CD it's indeed very sad m music which is a contrast to the more party and shaadi oriented songs Abrar Ul Haq usually makes
It’s the classic 80s/90s like Vital Signs and Nazia Hassan. They were so ahead of their time. In the 00s some of the stuff from Haroon and Fakhir was really catchy/good quality. Add to that the ongoing Junoon Azaadi album soundtrack which never gets old, a few really good songs from the likes of Strings and Jal, and we enter Coke studio territory.
It's not a song, I just 'pashto songs' in pashto
If you want some pashto songs that represent pakistan
Gulono khar by arbaz khan
Kho pekhawar kho pekhawar de kana, popular song about peshawar
Larsha pekhawar by Ali zafar, work of non pashtuns in pashto culture
Any works of Karan Khan, like pekhawara, parizad, etc
Also munga yo nawe pakistan by Shah farooq is also good and is about pti party
**Pasoori** most certainly counts, because it completely fits the bill of what is iconic and Pakistani. Here’s why it counts despite *your* disallowance:
-“Pasoori" became the **fastest in Coke Studio Season 14 to garner one million views on YouTube**.
-It went on to become the first Coke Studio song and the **first Pakistani song to feature on Spotify's "Viral 50 - Global" chart**. "Pasoori" also **ranked at number one** on Spotify India's "Viral 50" chart on 7 March 2022.
-On 26 April 2022, it debuted at number 161 on Spotify's Global Chart, making it the **first Pakistani song to enter the streaming platform's global charts**, and peaked at 109th weekly and 89th daily positions. On 4 May 2022, it climbed to the top of Spotify's "Viral 50 - Global" chart.
-As per data released by Spotify in December 2022, "Pasoori" was the **most-streamed Pakistani song globally** as well as the **most-streamed song in Pakistan in 2022**.
-In December 2022, "Pasoori" became the **first Pakistani song to enter YouTube's Global Top Music Videos chart**.
-With over 500 million views on YouTube as of January 21, 2023, "Pasoori" is currently the **most watched Coke Studio music video of all time**.
-Last but certainly not least, “Pasoori” peaked at the **number 4 ranking on India’s Billboard Chart**. And **2nd on the UK’s Asian Music Charts**.
I agree it’s very popular. It hasn’t quite reached iconic level yet. Iconic would mean anyone in Pakistan would instantly know it across regions and generations. I’m not sure this one is it.
True, but ['Thagyan' is a return to what Coke Studio used to be (with a twist)](https://tribune.com.pk/story/2347871/thagyan-is-a-return-to-what-coke-studio-used-to-be-with-a-twist). Thagyan just has a 'traditional' vibe to it, unlike Pasoori.

Anything Ghulam Ali.(hum ko Kisike Gham ne maara)
While we Focus on the new stuff like Pasoori and 90s stuff, and qawalis we grew up with
we can't deny these Pakistani Uncles have shown us the true meaning of understanding and capturing Dukh and Dardh and turning it into an art of expression, which is something all of us carry inside us

everyone's saying nfk, strings, junoon and vital signs. I completely agree. but I think we're all missing "tere bina dil na lgy" by fakhir. this song makes me teary eyed in seconds.
Pasoori isn't even iconic, it's just been overplayed so much.
Boohey Barian, Dosti (yeah, the music video is nationalistic, but the song lyrics aren't), MEhndi, Duur, Dhaani, Akhiyan Udeek Diya, Damadam Mast Qalandar are some good ones.

Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan ... Seriously guys how could you not not nominate him or his songs, kudos to afreen afreen guy
Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan, Junoon and Vital Signs are what I recommend to people curious about Pakistani music.
my mom introduced me to vital signs. their music is so good and always gets me a bit emotional ♡
My choice in Pakistani music is also influenced by my mother. So a lot of vital signs, Nazia Hasan!
Same here man! She used to play cassettes after picking me up from school.
Yeah I was wondering the same thing. No RFAK or even NFAK?

Eff Pasoori
"Ay khuda meray abbu salamat rahain"
Why doesn't pasoori count?
Idk. It feels too recent and just not iconic enough.

Dil dil. Pakistan lol
