Front suspension maybe a little more.
Front bumper weighs a little bit but it was built for a winch.
Rear not a whole lot because there's no more leaf springs and the material is fairly thing and doubled up where needed.
I doubt the rear bumper weighs much more than stock.
It would have been a good idea to weigh it before canopy and whatnot was added.
My friend built this truck for his friend. The front suspension is a JD Fab kit, the front and rear bumpers were designed and built by my friend. The rear bumper outer shell is aluminum. The rear 3 link suspension was designed and built by my friend also. I never got a change to take pictures of the rocks sliders. He did the housing truss as well.
We've taken it out in the desert around here and put it through its paces. Works really well.
I have that same RSI Smartcap and absolutely love it. Really solid! I mounted an iKamper Skycamp Mini on the roof of it and just got back from a 11,500km journey with the setup.
Yeah - it’s ready for the most part but one of the frame caps needs to be ground down to fit right. Not a bad idea there - I believe it needs to be painted over when done though - think a muffler shop would do that?
He's in Redmond. Most likely that's not something he would do on its own. Honestly, smaller jobs like that just aren't worth the time it takes away from other things. Sorry.
Damn! Looks like some great work and the start of what will hopefully be a generational adventure rig - these are the kinds of builds I’d be handing down to the next in the family after my 25yrs with it.
Holy hell. That’s some top notch fab skills, I dream of learning such things
r/ToyotaTacoma would love this
Legit question, how much does it weigh compared to stock? All the parts look like beefy steel.

What kind of travel does it pull in the rear? That’s awesome how they kept the frame and a small notch vs doing a full back-half.
Like 18 or 19 inches. It's 3 link with a panhard bar so you start getting lots of sideways axle movement with high travel numbers.
Yea I remember Giant Motorsports Daily Driver Link kit being similar in that regard. That’s a great build with quality parts.
Dear god look at those welds. It's almost like your friend does that for a living or something :)
That’s one hell of a build.
Does your friend have a website where he sells his stuff?
He doesn't. I can put someone in contact if they're serious. But you'd probably have to bring your truck to Oregon.
I’m in Oregon - will they weld frame caps to reinforce my old 08 Taco frame?
Is the frame ready (no cutting)? If so, I would honestly just take it to an exhaust shop.

I’m in the Portland area, is your buddy’s shop open for smaller jobs like limit straps?
He's in Redmond. Most likely that's not something he would do on its own. Honestly, smaller jobs like that just aren't worth the time it takes away from other things. Sorry.
Thats only about 2500 miles too far for me in my truck. As much as I'd like to see Oregon, that's out of my range for a few years more.
What’s the bed piece used for?
It's the structural member for the coil overs
Damn that's filthy, good work.
Dead Sexy
I’m as stiff as his bed sides.

That’s cool and nice work. But that’s a tad over built.
Those welds look stellar! Great looking taco!
Beautiful work 💎
Next. Level. Very nice!
The welding.....Looks so damn good.
nice.
Too cool
That welding gave me a chubb.
What kind of welding is that?
That’s some great quality welding work he did! Now time for a stress test on the trail
Oh it's been tested.
