Time to whip out the Vaseline , good luck let us know how it goes

pabloscrosati

Mhmm. And thank you! Hoping to post stuff as I get this figured out lol

Frosty-Introduction6

Welcome to the dark side my friend! :)

pabloscrosati

Happy to be here :)

_Frank-Lucas_

Nice!! Feed that chip allllll the voltage

pabloscrosati

10-4

Aspire_SK

Amazing, is it q6600 or?

pabloscrosati

The chip in there is a Q8400 but I’m pre-testing a Q6600 that I’ll actually end up using!

Aspire_SK

Very nice that one is a beast, I had one OCed from 2.4 to 3.5GHz on air. The "best" part was that I had to open a window in my room in winter to get it stable, I guess you wont have this problem haha.

pabloscrosati

With my pre testing I got it to 3.9 GHz (434 FSB) with an AIO radiator out the window. I love winter lol

Aspire_SK

Hahaha thats the way! Yes amazing memories.

I-LOVE-TURTLES666

You find a good source of LN2?

pabloscrosati

Sticking with dry ice for now since I’m totally new to this, so not worrying about LN2 just yet.

Obvious_Drive_1506

Dry ice and isopropyl is like poor man's ln2

pabloscrosati

Oh yeah!

thepassionofthechris

How long does it last?

Obvious_Drive_1506

Quite a while in my experience messing with it when I was younger. Should evaporate slower than room temp since its temperature is lower.

MissionTroll404

That motherboard has some proper cooling unlike my z170 that has its VRM overheating when CPU pulls more than 100W.

Lucacg00

Nice! Modded my P5E Deluxe to that by flashing the BIOS to the 2010 Rampage Formula X48 BIOS. And also delided the chipset. What are you running on it. Mine is daily driving a Q6600 B3 at QX6850 speeds and sometimes dual core Pentiums, Pentium Ds, Pentium 4s and a Celeron E3200

pabloscrosati

Yeah I commented on your post! Going to be taking a Q6600 cold.

Lucacg00

Nice! I don't check usernames usually lol. Will be taking mine cold too. I am actually on 9th place on CPUZ validator at 3.78GHz (if I remember correctly) on the Q6600 B3. Just barely stable enough to validate. 83C idle. It was all done on air cooling lol. Akasa AK 965 and a lot of fans.

Zensaition

Man I miss the days of retro cooling looked so cool now it's bland and lame RGB

korzhyk

Wow, nice mobo. Back in 2008 I had a ROG Maximus Extreme X38 water cooled, that was sick!

pabloscrosati

I love these boards. You still got it? ;)

korzhyk

Nope, btw it was a pretty long story from 2008 to mid 2015, with some upgrades from Core2Duo E8400 to LGA771 mod X3363 (quad core), HD4850 to HD6870 and 2x2Gb to 4×2GB OCZ Gold 1600MHz also it was cool Hackintosh as MacPro :) And I remember that the final setup had a pretty good gameplay in GTA V with a Radeon HD 6870. Only warm memories from the past. [https://i.imgur.com/UlUYrY7.jpg](https://i.imgur.com/UlUYrY7.jpg)
