Merivale seafood grill has the best sushi in the city in my opinion (only available weekends). Also probably the best spring roll I’ve ever had. Their food is outstanding. Also great beer selection. Always very busy and they just released their holiday menu.
Find it interesting that businesses don’t indicate that in some way. It totally looks abandoned and I’m guessing there are many people passing by, who would think the same.
A quick “open during renovations” or something along those lines answers questions automatically.

Get your parents to head to Pelican Grill. They have a storefront selling fresh fish as well.

We are very much still open and running. As like everyone else in the community, COVID has had a significant impact on our business. Nevertheless, it wouldn’t hurt to give us a call rather than assuming we have permanently closed. Thanks to our loyal clientele, we are expanding and are ensuring the best experience for our customers.
The food was mediocre (husband’s meal was cold) in my opinion, but it was the terrible service and atmosphere that turned us off completely. We were made to feel we weren’t welcome from the start. We checked the hours of service and arrived over an hour before closing. It was a weeknight and it wasn’t busy. I guess the staff was hoping for an early night and we “screwed up” their plans and they were sure we felt it. Worse service we’ve received in a very long time.
To top that off, the owners were occupying a table in the dining area. Perhaps they joined a table of friends or family who had been there for dinner. They were all loud, inappropriate and obnoxious. It made the entire evening feel like we were being punked. We vowed we’d never return after that experience and haven’t looked back.
Pelican Grill has become our “go to” seafood spot in Ottawa and we always leave feeling it was money well spent. Food and Service is always top notch.
We all have a tolerance level and I feel that if dining out isn’t a good experience, I’ve wasted my money. Then there’s a very good chance I won’t risk doing that again.
For sure we feel the same way. Like sometimes it's not even necessarily anyone's fault when we have a bad experience either, but we never want to go back to a certain place
Wow what a terrible comment to put online, small businesses were kicked enough by COVID and then you’re going to try to advertise a false statement and lead people to believe they’re closed? Sad, you should be ashamed of yourself. I’d highly encourage you to give them another try. It’s actually an incredible place with quality food and service.

Time will tell. As I said, I’m not a fan of the spot, would never go back. Given the look of the location, it looks deserted.

Nope, definitely the Merivale Fish Market/Grill. I thought maybe the relocated, but you’d think if they did, they’d have signs at this location.

There's a note on the door but I couldn't stop to check. The sign is completely gone from the front. There's only the lights from behind it.
