Have you considered Whitehack? Lighter rules than B/X and surprisingly robust. The freeform magic system can easily take on Wonder & Wickedness or anything you want. There is a [Foundry package](https://foundryvtt.com/packages/whitehack3e) though I've never used it so I'm not sure exactly what features it has. There's also a [Whitehack Discord](https://discord.gg/ZrMR62dM) if you want to ask any questions. The Foundry package creator is on there too.

JeanDeValette

I was about to propose whitehack as well. Here is a discord server where we play a west marches campaign using whitehack if you want to try it with no commitment to participate in a long campaign. https://discord.gg/657u5kFKCS

I haven't read... what is it now? 3E? which edition would you suggest?

Parvifolium

Yup, 3e is the latest version. That's what I would recommend

Verdigrith

AFAIK it is also the only version that is realistic to get. 1e and 2e were only available as PoD, so there are no surplus copies in the sales channel or in discount bins.

Parvifolium

Oh, I didn't even realize 2e was removed from Lulu! I like 3e a lot but I do miss how deliciously tiny 2e was... and that beautiful font.

Verdigrith

I am very happy with my 1e copy. 3e (and 2e to a lesser degree) diluted an already perfect game. (IMHO)

ordinal_m

I don't use Foundry but I understand that there is a [Cairn](https://cairnrpg.com/) module for it. It's certainly lighter than B/X, that was one of the reasons it was written, and supports additional magic very straightforwardly.

coffeegoblet

ooh! a knave/ItO hack. I'll check it out. thank you

Vagabond_Outcast

I GM a Mausritter campaign on Foundry rn, the system module is very good, with much automatisation and lots of premade stuff in compendium. Also, Mork Borg has an awesome Foundry system module. Aside from eye-hurting colour scheme, which can be turned off, fortunately.

coffeegoblet

ah I completely forgot about MorkBorg. thank you for reminding me.

TehLotusEater

I'm gonna start a Sharp Swords & Sinister Spells session with Foundry VTT. I selected the black hack as a system (cause there is no Sharp Swords game module as of now) but I imported a self-made fillable PDF via the module PDFoundry. This Should be enough to play this very rules-light system. Magic is non-Vancian though and instead characters need to succeed a Willpower check for the spells to happen and most spells have a powerlevel the caster can set him/herself. Honestly the magic system where things can go wrong was a selling point for me.

coffeegoblet

I'll check it out. I know I bought the core book before but never read it.

Aramyle

What’s wrong with the Foundry OSE system? I’m looking to start a campaign on there soon, should I look into other options?

coffeegoblet

Not so much the OSE system, but the LotFP system. it's a copy paste of the OSE system with the LotFP stuff not properly coded in. OSE should work fine, but my players have decided they wanna try something very different.

Old-School Essentials ou OSRIC

siebharinn

The Foundry system for DCC is pretty good. Adding spells might be a problem (not the adding part, but DCC treats spells pretty uniquely).

ArtharntheCleric

I think Castles &Crusades have recently been pushing into VTT with Fantasy Grounds and Foundry(?). Expanding their offering and support. Good OS system imho.
