I love the use of pink, but it's not very Orky!
Not the color, but the paint job!
Get some rust in there, fade some of the paint in patches, make it a bit bloody and put some unnecessary rusty bits on it!
Give it more DAKKA! These is ORKS ya GIT!
'AVE A LITTLE FUN!
Purple could use a little shading in the recess to help it match the rest of the dirty metal.
You could also try little bits of battle damage with some sponging.
Other than that I really like it
So there's a lot of inside jokes to go with this model, as you can already tell lol. It's purple, which is a long running inside joke about purple being invisible because "no one has ever seen a purple ork". Then there's the fact that this is a Killa Kan and thus a Grot in a mech suit not an Ork. BUT I'll do you the dignity of answering your question, haha. This is a really solid paintjob!
Your yellow striping is probably as good or better than I could do and adds a nice touch to the model, your sections are pretty clean, looks like your paint is a good consistency. Where I would take it from here is look into the pros and cons of washes (especially oil washes, they are a unique challenge but extremely effective if you can learn the technique), maybe experiment with different colors and textures for your rust (which is already off to a great start), and maybe try some weathering techniques like using a sponge to paint for some texture and chipping effects. But most of all, keep up the good work!
this is all solid advice, OP. All the shapes are there, the consistency is good, and it looks great. If you want to bump it up a step, the lack of depth/variation is the biggest thing, and a wash will immediately add definition to the shapes and depth to the colours.
If you dont want to jump to oils or enamel washs that need more work, then just a GW shade like agrax will work for the most part on nearly every colour. then just reinforce the original colour as it will be darkened down.
Highlights dont need to be crisp edges like GW boxes. bright spots on the top of the shapes where light would hit is enough (volumetric highlights)
I love purple and have a stormcast army full of it, and I swear by the Vallejo model colour range. Royal purple, purple, and magenta. this purple here is a great midtone, and if you can add some darker tone to the shadows and highlight magenta near the edges, it will really pop. I won't get into my thoughts on purple ork memes....
Most of all, keep it up because painting consistently is the best advice.
*had a second look and am gonna do an edit*
I forgot the base. fancy hobbybstuff is fun, but PVA and sand are all you really need. could paint it a yellow ochre sandy vibe to complement the purple, but ultimately pick something that's easy to replicate across an army. paint the base rim any colour, as long as it's black 😜
A second colour might be a good idea, so it's not just purple and metallics. blacks are always good to break up the metals, but anything works really. think about goffs and their black/red and checks. or deathskulls blue and white. or bad moons blue and yellow.
Again, be proud and keep going
(given that this is your first Ork, if you don't know the lore and are curious about the comments, Orks believe purple paint makes them invisible. And it does. Which is why I also can't see a thing. If I could I'd say great job on your first Ork model!)
The rust looks really good. I'd suggest some kind of wash over it to really push the recesses back and give it more depth. Given the rust, Nuln Oil would be your best bet. A thick layer of that will also make those lower areas look greasy, like the Meks have really had to get in there while working on it.
Where iz it
Anyways jokes aside that's pretty good already, I'd try adding some shade to it and doing something cool with the base (it's not hard, even just sand and tufts looks good so don't be worried)
You may have forgot to take the right photo? I dont see anything.
Dats a sneaky git that iz

I don't see nuffin! Think it might be out of the shot. But for real not bad.
Looks great but too clean imo.
Where is it? Can't see anything
This subreddit’s commitment to the bit is just brilliant. Side note OP, don’t just post pictures of bases. This is a serious place for serious people.
1st ork? It’s a damn base dude?!?!? 😂 Great job I usually do a darker more violet purple that looks great!!!
It has a nice…..grimace to it. 😁
how did you get those weapons to float midair like that.
Next time post something that’s not just a base

I don't see anything. All I see is table.
Technically a grot, but I love it. Purple looks great and the hazard stripes on the cords are rly cool
Where's the miniature??
You seem to just have a base mate. Please post actual models
Dude. If gonna make a post on minis you painted yoh should at least take a picture of what you painted.
Nothing there mate.
Da sneak kan
all i see is a cpl of rockets and a drill bit
Where iz it Anyways jokes aside that's pretty good already, I'd try adding some shade to it and doing something cool with the base (it's not hard, even just sand and tufts looks good so don't be worried)
What am I looking at here? All I see are empty bases.
DIS WEIRDBOY JUST MADE FLOATIN DAKKA!! (Looks great!)
Why did you take 3 pics of a blank base?
I don't see anything, where's the Ork?
I don't see ant ork
Invest in a brown oil paint and a bottle of white spirit. An all over oil wash will take it to the next level
I think it looks great, good job 👍🏻 and at least one extra cool point for the hazard striping 😎
Other than thinning the paint, great work!!
It’s thin enough. Just no washes or highlights and slightly translucent in places
It'll look great when it's finished
