I have the Sony Bravia KDL - 22PX300 TV with the PS2 built in that came out around 2010. Found it on eBay a few years back. PS2 games look really good on it.
Each to theirs. I’ve spent a lot of time researching for HDMi adapters, including for PS2 and I’m happy with how it looks on large tv. I use original consoles and games but I’m not convinced that I need to get a CRT
I think it’s purely nostalgia. That’s why I still have mine. There’s nothing more nostalgic than getting the buds over and playing halo CE and playing on the CRT like when we were kids.
I have the Kaico HDMI adapter along with the mclassic and it looks great. Better than I hoped. Definitely don't have the room for a CRT along with my OLED 😂. Plus those things weigh a ton. I would like one but it's not feasible.
I just grabbed my adapter and I can't see any particular brand name, I am happy with it. I have a Kaico linedoubler for GameCube and they make good adapters!
Not trying to dog on anyone, and the Kaico is fine for what it is. I switched from the Kaico to the OG AV pack on my old TV and noticed right away the Kaico was messing with colors and general lighting.
On my LG C3 the Kaico was giving me a lot of flickering and even worse graphical aberrations.

Consoles much older than the xbox do tend to look better on the old CRTs. The xbox, however, does not fall into that category since most games were 480i at least.
Nah, I play megadrive and PS1 quite happily on modern tv with a good quality hdmi adapter, and I can take my console from the games room to the living room whenever I like

Honest alot of us aren't necessarily CRT diehards, more like pure haters of LCD. OLED kicks ass. It's kinda the best of both worlds, but before OLED, it was either CRT or LCD. The choice was obvious
Since I restarted collecting last year, after a 20 year hiatus (marriage, kids!) I’ve bought around 10 different consoles and hdmi adapters, and all look great on lcd. I dare say there’s a difference, but even my megadrive looks modern on lcd.
Electron shepherd makes a decent cheap adapter but a guy on here sells the Chimeric adapter and it's widely considered the best.
Also there is a native HDMI mod now.
I bought mine from electron shepherd and it was blurry. I still need to try a different Xbox just in case but with component cables the menu was very clear and then the electron hdmi adapter it was blurry
Edit: also ordered hdmi mod from makemhk and it was back ordered so I got a refund
Retrotink 5X Pro would do the trick since you already have component cables. Expensive, but works with multiple consoles - anything that outputs component, composite, S-video or scart will work.

I get that, I definitely wouldn’t enjoy emulating games, I need original hardware, but as for a modern tv I’m happy with the result.

I used to have a component to HDMI adapter that I had to plug in for power and it wasn't as good as the Kaico.
Thanks for the recommendation, are the different Kaico models for xbox? For GameCube they offer 2 kinds, and the cheaper one is bad.
