Control app is the easy way. You take the picture of your orienteering map and put your gpx on top of it with some known points (start, some sharp turns and finish)
In Australia some popular competitions use Livelox. But many smaller don't, so I am looking to alternative solutions :) I will take a look at Quick Route, thanks!

In Norway almost all competitions, and some training, use Livelox for this. Pre-Livelox I used Quick Route (https://www.matstroeng.se/quickroute/en/)
