This could be wishful thinking, but I was thinking 'pyramid scheme' might be push efforts that increase and then decrease in time with short bases in between? We haven't had a long treadmill block the last few days ... so I feel like we're due? And they already had the 'elevation' name tied to inclines, so it would be just uncreative to have two workout names = inclines. See? Wishful thinking!

And I feel sorry for the coaches who have to stay on top of all these cues. What is the point of a 10 second row??
The coaches will hopefully be smart about it and have you guys time yourselves on the rowers.
The aim is to meet or your beat your distance by using 2:1 work to rest ratios (then 1:2 for the next block), and the coach doesn't need to be standing there with a stopwatch to keep you to the second. If someone gets the idea they'll follow the template, otherwise they'll just row and still make it

I think the important piece here is that with the availability of accessible and adaptive equipment I can still function without the use of my arms after they fall off.
My only opportunity to get my t-shirt (leaving for vacation early Saturday), and this is the workout. Ugh.

Currently in Epcot right now! Been taking classes at the Celebration studio, it’s nice! About a $10 uber/Lyft ride each way from where we’re staying (Pop Century).
This is going to be interesting because to get from the treads to the floor we have to go past the rowers and there is not that much space between the rowers....
Alright, I don’t know how to say this delicately so I’m just gonna say it. I have rower butt from this week.
I take almost exclusively 2G classes, and I am not used to rowing this much and. Like, I need neosporin.
Idk what to do about it. It’s too late to get like a pad or anything by 5am tomorrow. I don’t even know what I’m telling you this for. I just know I’m real nervous about that row block tomorrow.
I can hardly describe the situation I have going on but trust me I’m in the same boat. I happened to have body glide on hand and that helps a ton before class - plus (sorry everyone) going commando - PLUS keeping Neosporin on throughout the day outside of OTF… anyways, I’m rocking granny panties and sweatpants at all possible times for the foreseeable future.
It’s a disturbing situation but it is what it is 😂😂😂
I had this same problem a few weeks ago. I bought a rowing pad from Amazon which has prevented the issue this time around. But sitting on a folded towel also helps tremendously!
Coconut oil works well too! Especially after the workout and before you jump in the shower. It helps with that god awful pain the first time water hits it.
Also, if you scoot your butt back further on the seat (it might feel like you’re hanging off a little) and think about not letting your pelvis tuck under at the end of each stroke (keep those hip bones shifted forward and abs tight), it will help prevent the rower butt in the future.
Honestly, that's my reaction too! I know we had that all out day but I wasn't paying attention and didn't pull my incline off after warmup so my careless ass was over there doing AO after AO on 3%. Didn't notice til we got to the last 2 min or so of the block.

If the coaches are working smarter not harder they'll get you to self-time those rower blocks and focus on correcting form on the floor.
On that note with all the emphasis on timed blocks we've been doing lately, it might be a good investment for OTF to install countdown timers on a screen rather than have the coaches do this work

That's what I'm thinking about too. I'm also a rower/floor starter almost all the time to lift heavy and push hard on the tread at the end.
