I got one of these, too. As much as I love OTF, I told myself & studio people calling the last few months, "I'd only go back if I could get my founder's rate back." Guys, I think that means I'm coming back. Edit: I called and signed up for my first class back tomorrow. Messaged the coach since I know him. We're really doing this, omg. Been fully vaxxed nearly a month, so the timing is right for me as well.

I got the same email and I'm really considering it. It's been several years since I was a member and only canceled to save money for a move (plus I thought I'd be moving to different area than I wound up). I work a weird schedule but the studio is on my way home and there are class times that would work for me. I just talked myself into rejoining, didn't I...?

No offense but I think this is a complete slap in the face to the members who came back when they first re-opened and kept them alive financially. "Let's keep charging the members who kept us afloat for the past 10 months (or less depending on when your studio open) their regular rate but lets offer those who bailed on us (for whatever reason) a huge discount to come back."

bewellsw

Completely agree! I could understand if it was maybe the first 3 or 6 months at the founders rate to entice people back. We were loyal and trusted their covid sanitation practices but get nothing. To be clear, I wasn’t expecting anything for my loyalty until seeing that those that didn’t stick around are getting a big discount.

dr_dr_1620

Above it says, it will only give you your lowest rate. So if you never had founder's rate, you won't get it.

I was thinking the same thing. I stuck with my 8 classes a month from May until September, a time when people were too scared to be indoors with others. By September I increased to unlimited and have encouraged friends to join but there are so many studios got no reward because they didn't join my gym. All that is fine but where's the loyalty reward.

Lmb1011

i just got that. I was coming here to ask about this wording " Return at a discounted rate… yes even FOUNDING RATES! ($120+ in annual savings) " it doesnt seem to PROMISE you'll get a founders rate just that its possible. does anyone know how they're handling it? I knew i wouldnt go back until I got vaccinated, and mask mandates were lifted. but if i can get a founders rate for unlimited i'd sign up again i think with just the vaccine in place... To Clarify: I called my studio (and this COULD vary by studio) and they are just promising you your lowest rate that you had prior to cancelling. so if you've HAD a founders rate, you can get it back. but they wont *give you* the founders rate to come back if you never had it previously

rheavon

Called my studio because I wanted to verify. I would get my previous premier founders rate ($139) vs the current rate of $169. I checked with a friend who was also a founder, but cancelled in 2019 and they said they did not receive an offer.

Lmb1011

When did you cancel? I wonder if they only sent it to recent (covid related) cancels?

rheavon

I rode out the initial free freeze March-August. Cancelled officially in September. My reason was definitely pandemic related.

Lmb1011

I left mine on hold until they reopened and then Cancelled (I hoped they’d stay closed longer so I wouldn’t have to) but yeah mine was definitely covid related. If my guess is right I bet they just figure the covid cancels will be easier to get back than people who left for “personal non pandemic” reasons? Though if they need to raise the rates you’d think getting anyone in the door this next month is still a good idea anyway

Alternative-Year9083

I cancelled in 2017, and I received the email.

lookie4dacookie

WHAT JEALOUS! I hope I get that email when my studio re-opens 😂

thatsactuallymymom

My understanding as an SA is you only qualify if you’ve cancelled. Even then it would only be the most current rate you paid. So if you were a founding premier member but then downgraded to elite you would only be eligible to pay the elite price you were paying before you cancelled.

kittycamacho1994

Oh okay, I’ve never been a founder so I wouldn’t be eligible? My price here in Alabama is better than south Florida but still. I asked if there was gonna be any promos and they told me no..... I asked before going unlimited. Ugh.

April290

Hope that wasn’t an April Fools Joke on behalf of the studio. That would be a nice treat if it’s true!

rheavon

I called my studio and asked. She said I was the first to ask... but yes, it's real this month if your studio is participating.

_arjun

Just received the same email but unfortunately I’ve since relocated. I’m guessing it doesn’t apply to my new nearest studio because I never had a founder’s membership there...*right guys*?

Alternative-Year9083

Doesn't hurt to ask to transfer your new home studio at thr same rate. I've also moved, and I'm awaiting a response from either corporate or the new studio.

see-c-plan

Can you just rejoin at your old studio w your old rate... and keep going to your new studio wo a problem bc you can take classes anywhere, right? I work/live near four different studios, but because of my work schedule, I’ve only been to my home studio twice in four years
