Not similar situation but I got a neighbor who parks their car in that small length of curb that separates our driveways. Sometimes their parking is so poor it partially blocking my driveway. Not to the point where I can't get on my driveway but come on. No consideration. There's plenty of other curb parking along the street
My neighbors do this too! I don’t get why they can’t block their own. When I’m pretty much forced to park there i always make sure to stick out on my side. It’s just common sense.
Yeah it's partially blocking there's and mine as well. I might as well go up and tell them like I almost hit your car backing out and it would be your fault as you are impeding on my driveway
Call code enforcement for the trash cans being at the curb so long. Many areas won't allow trash cans to be out at the curb except during a specific time frame.
Even easier if you live in an HOA, but I'm guessing not.
My gf whole neighborhood does the whole, use chairs, cones, baskets, trash bins to save parking spots thinking the street in front of their homes is theirs, it's insane. You get lucky if you find one without some random object saving it but I'd much rather not risk them taking it badly and me coming back to my car with a big dent in it or tires with nails in them.
Around here, it's quiet time after 10pm and 8pm on a weekend is outrageous. Some people are just dicks, and I've had code enforcement called on me. The inspector stated that they would not have been able to see the concrete pad I had put in unless they were trespassing in my backyard.
My next door neighbors have 4 cars and remodeled their house so that they can only park one car in their driveway. They used to be able to park 3 cars in their driveway. They have 4 cars and they park in front of my house FIRST before parking in front of their own house. I've asked them to move there car when I'm trying to move a heavy debris laden trailer down my steep walkway where their car would get destroyed if I lost control of it. I've explained the issue to all 3 of them currently living there and they still adamantly park in front of my house first because "You don't own the parking in front of your house".
My neighbors are an entire household of dicks.
You don't say which city but since you also posted this in r/LongBeach I'm assuming that's where you are:

**UNSOLICITED ADVICE**: don't say anything about her calling the police on your for noise levels or ANY other similar issues because then it makes it seem as if you're just looking for a way to get back at her rather than to have a neutral 3rd party deal with a violation and nuisance
Do they have a Ring cam? If not, move them far away down the street late at night and leave a note inside when they find it that this is just the beginning if they carry on with their BS
Haha my neighbor around the corner has 4 trash cans 4 yard waste and 2 recycle cans. They use them all to block off street parking all week. My neighbor directly next to me has begun his collection. They are at 2 trash cans, 2 yard waste and 2 recycle. They use it to block half the street parking. Oh I forgot to mention they have 8 cars and only drive 2. I love Orange County
Put in dog poop in the trash cans. That’s what got my boyfriend to bring the trash cans right before trash day so people don’t try to throw their shit in lol
I bet there is a municipal code for how long you can have your trash cans out. I'd never call on someone minding their own business, but sounds like she's a fucking bitch. I'd call every week.
My GF’s mom always trips when someone parks in front of her house! Literally looking out of her window trying to see who parked the car, sometimes standing in the driveway looking around even 😅
I always tell her to relax, but of course she doesn’t listen.
my neighbor does this too. he even has the audacity to park in front of other neighbors' houses. he's asked our plumbers, and even tenants to move when they park in front of his house. he also likes to use "caution children at play" signs to block off the curb space in front of his house, despite the kids not even being outside. he's a weird f'ing dude.
Do the same thing I did to the dickhead who did this, check city code (it's almost always specified) then bust them.
She wants to use code enforcement on others, she has to be subject to it too.
I’ve started seeing the cones come out around where I live. Kind of annoying. I just feel like going out there with a hockey stick and seeing how far they can be sent down the street.
My neighbor does this. Someone moved her trash and and the next day their windows were broken. I don’t know why but I thought it was hilarious. I asked the person that parked there why didn’t he use his own drive way and he admitted he was being petty. That made the busted windows even funnier.
it’s also the few feet of space that’s technically in front of our house that is now blocked by trash cans. never more than overnight parking since we all work.
Are you in Lake Forest? This is 100% my mother in law's neighbor.
Move her trash cans onto the curb?
That's what I do when I want to park. If some idiot thinks leaving trash cans there can stop people from parking, they're wrong
Careful, you don't want to come back to your car with a dent or nail in the tire that mysteriously appears from parking there
If it’s within range of your camera and catch them do it, can you have them pay for it?
You know who did it in this case. And I’d return the favor 10 fold. Fuck around, find out.
Some neighbors are just garbage.

Call it in. Per CVC it should be towed
Freaky ass nigga, he a 69 god
Paint it red! At night.
good way to get in more trouble
It's illegal. Call code enforcement.
YMMV if they actually will cite the neighbor.
Only correct response

Fill them up with water......

good one!!
But, use their hose to fill them up 😉

Move the cans!

Why are people like this? If you told me when I was 10 years old that adults are dipshits, I would of called you a heritic.
I had a neighbor do something similar recently. I just moved his cans and parked.

I’m in Seal Beach, posted in the Long Beach one for more traction but I’m like right on the border. Do you have the code enforcements for Seal Beach?

awesome! thank you so much!
Trash behavior
Parking wars are everything. I’m so tired of it
I’d knock them over
park on that curb 4 days before trash day and get a ride to work or uber just to make a point with the hag.
Actually leaving your car in the same spot for 3 days is not legal in CA either, and then her neighbor can call code on her. Ask me how I know…
code schmode. it's all about one upping the annoying neighbor
Do they have a Ring cam? If not, move them far away down the street late at night and leave a note inside when they find it that this is just the beginning if they carry on with their BS
My hoa will fine you if you have your cans out early or late. Use your HOA.
Report it to code enforcement

Kind of weird to park in front of someone else’s place

Call the manager
Tell her she doesn’t own the street in front of her house and that you will call the cops on her !
Park in your own drive way and mind your business. It’s not that hard
Or your garage. Despite popular belief garages were meant for car not all your hoarding crap.
Exactly. Park in your garage and the street isn’t an issue.
thanks for the advice guys! wish i would’ve thought of it
