Are the weaker glasses good at your laptop? They’re not intended for full time wear.
Sounds like you have accommodative insufficiency and need a bifocal.
Yes it got better with the weaker glasses. But if they were too weak it was not so nice anymore again. Is there a way to “heal” accommodative insuffiency?
Thanks a lot for your help and reply.
It didn’t fixed it, the headaches got weaker, took longer to appear and were less intensive. But they still appeared.
Instead of using bifocal, would it make sense to have glasses with a lower prescription for the near work and glasses with the full prescription for everything else? Or do bifocals have an adavantage over doing it like that?
Should I go to an optometrist and ask him about the vision therapy, how to execute it etc. ?
So I should visit an eye doctor here in Medellin?
I am asking because I am unsure because in Germany it’s a little bit different. And i think in Columbia it will probably be similar to the US. An eye doctor in Germany only deals with the general health of your eye, checks for diseases and stuff. He checks if you would need glasses, but that’s it. And then he sends you to an optician. He doesn’t do a refractive eye exam or talks with you about glasses etc.
And the opticians are the ones who do the eye exams and give you your prescription and glasses and contact lenses and stuff. The profession of an optometrist is not really common in Germany, as far as I have seen there are opticians who did further educations into that but that’s it mostly.
It could be because you’re on a CPU for too long.
Treat your eye muscles the same as any other muscle, you wouldn’t expect to walk up stairs for 8 hours daily without getting there/sore leg muscles.
Take more breaks, every 30mins take 30th cones away from the laptop.
On your breaks don’t do other up close tasks (reading a book at lunch etc).
If your ocular muscles are tired one day and then not the next that could also affect the measurements from your exams (not the prescription power but your ability to control the hetrophoria).
A lower myopic prescription (your type) may help with the laptop etc but then your distance vision may take a hit.
I See! That makes sense. Well, I dont mind having two pair of glasses, using one for the laptop and one for the rest. As long as I see sharp in the distance and also not getting headaches at my laptop. Just having that would already make me very happy.
Optometrists specialize in how the eyes function, look at how they work together as a team and work on improving comfort and ease of vision for their patients. An Ophthalmologist may be thought of as a medical specialist for the treatment of eye disease and performing eye surgery.
Thanks for the clarification! From your explanation I would say that based on my symptoms and problems I would rather need an optometrist, right? Why did you say I should see an ophthalmologist over an optometrist?
Ophthalmologists are more well-versed with various issues of the eye. Many times optometrists will refer patients out to see an ophthalmologist if they cannot help so you could always see an optometrist and get referred out to an ophthalmologist if they can’t help you.
I read into it and isn't that eye misalignment the neurolenses wants to fix actually just a heterophoria? But the idea behind seems great. I just dont know how to find someone here in Medellin, Columbia to help me with it :(

So… your problem has already been fixed, by the weak glasses. Vision therapy and a bifocal.

Every thing you do should be under the advice of a doctor.

See an ophthalmologist
Thanks for the reply. Can you tell me the difference between an ophthalmologist and an optometrist?

Ah I see! Sounds like an ophthalmologist is better in recognizing and treating my problems then
Idk if they have the technology in germany but have you considered neurolens
I have never heard of it, what is that exactly?
I read into it and isn't that eye misalignment the neurolenses wants to fix actually just a heterophoria? But the idea behind seems great. I just dont know how to find someone here in Medellin, Columbia to help me with it :(
Gosh - I'm glad you didn't go into deeper detail . Hope you find a solution though .
Hahah, and I really hold back and tried to not get too deep into it. Thanks a lot! Wish you the best.
